CR Developer or CR Server

We need to create a pdf and an excel file out of Crystal Reports. This job should be executed daily.
Do have to by a Crystal Reports server (scheduler) or is there a possibility to have this job done in the Developer Version as well?

As far as I understand, the Server version is intended for that.
But with the Developer version, you could develop a little standalone program, which does the
job.
To schedule it, you could either
- develop that little program as an console-application (exe-file) and schedule to run it with the windows scheduler daily
or alternatively
- develop that little program as a windows service with a timer
Second option is better because it can run in the background and by using a config-file you could even make the
scheduling-plan flexible.

Will the reports developed in sql server 2008 r2 BIDS work when deployed on sql server 2012 reporting manager?
when I check on Microsoft site it says
Reports are not upgraded when you upload a report definition file directly to the report server
or SharePoint site. Upgrading a report definition in SQL Server Data Tools is the only way to upgrade the .rdl file.
When you open an .rdl file in Report Designer in SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), if the report was
created for a previous namespace, Report Designer automatically creates a backup file and upgrades the report to the current namespace.
This is the only way you can upgrade a report definition file.
Now here is another confusing statement which says
You can upload an .rdl file created in an earlier version of Reporting Services to a SQL Server
2012 report server and it is automatically upgraded on first use. The report server stores the report definition file in the original format. The report is automatically upgraded the first time it is viewed, but the stored report definition file remains
unchanged.
All I want to know is if I deploy a rdl made in 2008 r2 to 2012 will it work on the report manager of
2012?

I have tested this fucntionality and can confirm that ssrs 2008 r2 reports work when you deploy them on new ssrs 2012 report manager .
No Migration is required .
I didnt even moved report server dbs .All I did is just deployed reports on the report manager and it worked .

Development Environment for Server APIs in Webcenter Interaction 10.3

Hi, I installed “Oracle Web Center Interaction 10.3" on standard environment mentioned by oracle (Window 2003 server, IIS6.0, SQL Server 2005). Everything works fine concerning the portal and services.
I also have visual studio 2005 on the same machine and trying to setup a development environment where I can user server APIs (I start with creating IPTSession).
I am using follwong code to start with:

I think either server APIs are not more supported in 10.3 or I do not know how to setup the development environment for server APIs.

i have already tried putting hardcoded path but it didn't help, morover the previous line gives me correct path.

You have to create a project in CMOD transaction you can use the avialable one also.
after that attach your userexit to that Project.
The function modules which are used in that userexit must be activated.
Then transport the request with the help of basis Person.

I try to answer you message, my answer may not be sufficient for you.
Install SAP Solution Manager and ECC development as separate systems sharing the same server. So each system will get it's own system id and installation number.
Verify sizing of both systems.
SLD is not mandatory for a SAP Solution Manager. If a SLD already exist in your System Landscape, you can connect SMSY (System Landscape) in transaction SMSY_SETUP with a SLD. Information on System will then be retrieved from SLD, rather via an RFC.

I installed Forms & Reports Server (without developer tools) on one server. Now I want to install only Forms and Reports developer in another server. Can anybody tell me how to achieve this or from where I can get some reference document particularly for this task?

you could set the working directory of your formsweb.cfg entry to another path;
e.g.:
[test_config]
workingDirectory=d:\devworkspace\forms
where d:\devworkspace\forms is the directory where your fmx/plx/mmx are located
if you have also own .jar files in use, you could also put them into another directory, and access them in the formsweb.cfg via an aliasmatch:
archive=frmall.jar,../my_aliasmatch/my_jar_file1.jar,../my_aliasmatch/my_jar_file2.jar
and in the httpd.conf (OAS_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf/httpd.conf)
add a line like this:
AliasMatch ^/forms/my_aliasmatch/(..*) "d:\devworkspace\java/$1"
where d:\devworkspace\java is the directory where your jar files are located.
and restart Apache.
for productional use you can also create a different config with a different workdir and a different aliasmatch.
the reports can also be located anywhere; just set the workdir and cachedir of your testreportsserver to a location where your reports are located.

you can try this, it is a good example.
currently it supports AIM, MSN, ICQ, Yahoo and JBuddy protocol.

Migrating from Development to Test Server

I have developed an OA extension page and deployed it.
But now once I want to move my extension page from development to test server how do I do it. My doubts are because:
While developing the pages I specified the connection username and password which is stored in the bc4j.xcfg file.
What is the best way to deploy the OA Extension pages in respect to migration.

What's the difference between the Application Developer Tools and Server Applications CD

I have 2 questions about Sql Server 2005.
1. I have 2 sets of CDs, one is called Sql Server 2005 Developer Edition, Applications Developer Tools, and another one called Sql Server 2005 Developer Edition Servers Server Applications.
I installed the Applications Developer Tools on my development pc, and I was able to use create and populate a database, and use Sql Server Management Studio fine. I wonders what 's the Servers Server Applications set of cds for.
2. I just like to install Sql Server 2005 on a test pc also. Can I use my Developer Edition Applications Developer Tools to install it ?

Developing a fax server

Dear all,
I am told to develop a fay server and have read that some protocol named T.30 is used for this implementation. But I couldnt get enough information about this protocol to keep going with my work on this. It would be really helpful if u could give me some links about faxing, protocols etc..etc.. "Procedures for document facsimile transmission in the general switched telephone network"
And presumably you already know that getting that document might require money, perhaps significant amounts of money, as telecom standards often do.
Presumably you are building a fax machine or creating a driver interface for it (which I wouldn't suggest java for.)
If on the other hand you are creating code to access a fax machine/system from vendor then the system interface would be more helpful.

NetWeaver Developer Edition: Workspace Server Error every 2 Minutes

I installed SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.02 SP6 32-bit - Developer Edition on Windows XP 32 Bit in a Virtual Machine with Virtual Box. My Host hase got 8 GB RAM and 4 x >3Ghz Processor and I gave 4GB Ram and 2 Cores to the Virtual Machine. 
The Installation was ok and the Systems works. But now I began to do some exercises (Add 2 Tables and some Types) and now Windows tells me after 2 Minutes I'm logged on Disp+Work.Exe --> an error occured. Then the SAP Workspace Server is rebooted and I can log on for the next 2 minutes.

Now I saw in syslog in SAPMMC that when I start the ApplicationServer "NSP" ive got an Error:
"Communications data: Service initialization failed" (Process Type RD, PID 03356 , Message ID S10 But message_server.exe and disp+work.exe are running green and i can log on into sap. and then after 1 minute the explaned error occurs.(WorkspaceProcess is restarted and sapsession breaks down - i have to log on again)

Please check the value of the parameter PHYS_MEMSIZE in the file <Drive>:\usr\sap\NSP\SYS\profile\NSP_DVEBMGS00_testsap . Set the value to 2048M. Also set the page file size to 10GB. Ensure you have space on disk to allocate space for paging.

SSIS Package developed in SQL Server 2008 R2 Using BIDS 2008 is not working in SQL Server 2012

I am working in a Product based company.
We have given a Pre-requisites to our customers like SQL Server version should be 2008 or later.
I have developed and deployed my SSIS package in SQL Server 2008 R2 with BIDS 2008.
I have used "Script Component" in my package.
We will take only DTSX package file to the customer places and run using SQL Agent Job daily.
Who are all(Customer Environments) using SQL 2008 or R2 my package is running fine.
Who are all(Customer Environments) using SQL 2012, I am facing the below issue
The component metadata for “Script Component, clsid {874F7595-FB5F-4OFF-9BAF-FBFF825OE3EF}” could not be upgraded to the newer version of the component. The PerformUpgrade method failed.
Still the same package is running fine for some of the customers having SQL 2012.
I am getting the above error only for few customers.
Can someone please guide me how to proceed on this. Is there any solution to go without upgrading the package to SQL 2012. Because we need to maintain only one package for all customers

I am just using the script component only for generating Identity column purpose. I will get the maximum count from the table and using this count value as Input (JurisCount in my below code) for script component and increment the counter for new records.
Finally I am mapping the Script component output value (JurisKey in my below code) to Key column of the table. That's all I am doing with Script Component.

please help me i am try to install oracle developer 10g on win server 2008 but failed because the version of operating system not 5 or 5.1 or 5.2 and it is 6
so i want to install oracle developer 11g on win server 2008 but i am not found oracle developer 11g to download it
please any one help me to solve this problem or help me to find oracle developer 11g

Oracle Developler 11g is now called Oracle Fusion Middleware (FMw) 11g and can be downloaded from the Oracle Fusion Middleware Downloads page. You have to download and install WebLogic Server (WLS) 10.3.3 first, then scroll down and download and install Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer (11.1.1.3.0).
When you install WLS, make sure you do not run the configuration step. When you install FMw, it will configure the WLS as part of it's configuration step.
