Crazy email behaviour - N86

When it works it is great, but the IMAP mail on N86 seems to have a life of its' own.
I have 2 email accounts which I synchronise onto my N86. My Yahoo.com mail seems to work fine and is set up to use nokia-prem.imap.mail.yahoo.com as server.
However, my work email which is also set up as IMAP has been really tempramental. I have to use non-default ports for this connection. It worked fine for a long time and then just randomly stopped working. It seems to lose menu items (the menu items just are not there any more!), when I look at
options-settings-mailbox settings- advanced mailbox sett
I did a hard reset of the phone and got it going again. However the mail has now stopped working again. I can now send a mail but can't receive.
I'm on 20.115 - tied to this by O2 in UK.
Any ideas folks???

.............and so it gets stranger. I was in Rep of Ireland today and the mail synch started again, and continued to work after I got back to UK.
How can this be explained??
Has anyone else experienced anything similiar or should I report to Nokia and what are they likely to do?

Yes, I went to settings and turned wifi off. Thought at first I wasnt letting it set for a sec or two before shutting the iPad off. so now I wait like a minute or two before shutting the iPad down. didnt seem to help. How do I set the 'Return-Path' of emails sent using the send email behaviour? I am having troubles because the emails sent from my page are being filtered out as spam when they should be coming through. the text is the following (it is the notification of an e-card to the recipient):

I suspect that it has something to do with the return path setting.
Can anyone help me on this one and get it through the spam filters of most email clients?!

Hi Nik,
so far the only "flagged as spam" reason I know of is, that ADDT curreently misses to insert the current date/time -- please try the fix mentioned in the thread http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3c034953/5 and see if it helps

Outlook and Iphone 4 Exchange Email behaviour

I have set up my iphone 4 with exchange activesync and believe that the basic function works but I experience odd email visibility behaviour. When I receive a new incoming email exchange will push the email out to my iphone but when I open outlook on my workstation this causes the mail item within the iphone inbox to disappear (I use this term as it does not seem to exhibit deletion behaviour). Can anyone help? This is an example of the add behaviour but I have others that seem to be related. I have many read emails in my exchange inbox but none of these are synced with the inbox on iphone, again can anyone help?

You will need to see if your e-mail provider can provide a POP email server instead of your current IMAP account.
That way your iPhone and Server will no longer be in sync

Remove email imap n86 . how ?

I have 4 email acount including google setup with imap on my n86
it sync with the server. delete works.
now i want to delete mail on my n86 phone, but only local. ( because some of the email is big and it saves them on the c: disk on n86
anybody know how to only delete imap on phone not on server?

if you select the email and then select options and delete, you will get a choice of phone only of phone and server.
Doing phone only wll still leave the message headers displayed on your phone but will remove the actual email, leaving the copy on the server intact

How to set up email on N86?

I've tried several accounts, and no matter what I try the Nokia email setup gets stuck on "contacting email server". I would have thought it would work at least for gmail.
The automated process doesn't let me put in any of the settings manually. God knows what it's doing but it's not setting up any email that's for sure!
I tried downloading the Nokia Messaging from email.nokia.com which has installed and I can't find it anywhere?! It's supposed to be version 9.02, and yet when I start email and go into "about" it says it's version 2.1 ?!
How on earth do you get emails up on this device?

It's not only the problem of your device, in nokia E 63 also it stops at contacting e-mail server. i tried on several days in different timings. I am very frustrated by having this experience.

Odd email behaviour

OK I'm turning to the users after no joy from bt India by phone or live chat.
This all started as my email's been spoofed.
So on the 6th I changed my password as a precaution, and ran spybot-s&d, malawarebytes anti-malware and Microsoft security essentials. All full scans and nothing found.
Then today I try and log in to my email, that wasn't working. so rang india and reset the password. this turned up some odd things.
1, there was a confirmation of password change in my inbox from his morning which I hadn't done.
2, the security question answer was incorrect; as was the date of birth. both things I'm pretty sure I know.
so I ran all the scans again on all computers in the house and found nothing. only my wife and I have access to these computers.
so I'm a little puzzled as to what is going on here, if anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful. As all i got from the call center was the password change and the promise that if there's a security issue tthey will catch it so don't worry.

It is the default webmail from bt broadband. I hadn't considered that it may have been hijacked. It's certainly something to investigate.
I assume that to affect both the main account and a sub account it would have to be both accounts that are affected, please correct me if I'm wrong. This would be strange as they are only accessed from separate computers.
As no other action has occurred on the account other than listed above, I take it it may be a precursor to a mass spam if that is what has happened. Needless to say I'll be keeping a close eye on it.
I'll search the forum for more info now I have a direction to look in.
edit: after reading some of your posts on other threads and doing some more reading, I've checked for filters, forwarding and signature options on both accounts and nothing has been changed there, so it doesn't look like they are keeping an eye on my activity. So if it was hijacked my concern should probably turn to what information they could gleam from email's on my account; if of course I've covered the basics.
Also does anyone have advice on a good email client?

E6 and email behaviour

I'm wondering that is anyone else experiencing the same.
I have 2 mail accounts, another is IMAP and another is POP3.
For the both I've set that they are retrieved once in an hour and between 8.45am to 10pm.
During daytime, it works well. But the strange thing is at night or when my phone alarm clock starts.
If I happen to check what time is it during night, doing something in those starting screens (not launching any apps though), the email app checks (atleast) the POP3 account. This can be a random thing too, not sure about it!
But the mystery is when I wake up, usually for work between 7-7.30am - the email app checks (atleast) the POP3 account every time!
So, is the scheduled (8.45AM-10PM) checking not working or is the email app somehow linked to the alarm clock?
I've deleted the POP3 account once or twice but the problem stays the same.
These mail accounts are on different home screens.
Running the latest Belle software, can't really remember was it same with Anna...

I apologize for replying late, but I was left without internet connection, because Safari quit unexpectedly, Mail quit unexpectedly etc. I spent the best part of my holiday talking to Apple Help line today and finally I had to take my laptop to local Apple store. They fixed the problem and it would seem that it had to do with the Community Tool Bar showing each time I logged into Safari since I downloaded Safari update last year.
I am not completeley convinced that this was the main problem, because I had this nuisance for over a year and it did not cause Safari and Mail tio crush before.
The Safari and Mail app. folder told me that Safari and Mail quit unexpectedly.

Strange email behaviour

On sunday, my phone randomly decided to stop receiving emails (nokia messaging), but would still send them. This went on until i flashed it yesterday, at which point it did receive them again, all day, night, and into this morning. I reflashed again today, and it continued to pick emails up. Then, out of the blue, it's stopped again. It sends ok, but not receiving. It can't be a 1.2 bug as it happened before the update too.
Anyone else had this happen?

E7 Belle upgrade - change of email behaviour

(Note - use native email direct to ISP, not via Nokia Mail or other intermediary; will not use cloud based services eg. Google/AOL/Yahoo, so don't suggest them to me as a "fix".)
Prior to Belle (ie pre Anna and Anna releases) "delete" of an email only deleted it from the phone, not from the server. Now, under Belle, "delete" does just that and removes from the server as well. Annoying, as it has meant I have deleted a few emails I intended to keep on my "master" version on my PC.
Anyone else having the same experience?
Prior to E7 it was possible to configure email delete in the phone to either mean "delete from server" or "delete in phone only". It would be nice to get that option back!

Email behaviour wrong -each time when I close a window, email disappears and I have to open it again

I will give an example - I open an attachment and close it, email is gone. The easiest way to get back is by finding the window from History. This happens with Gmail, iCloud mail and Apple mail, and it started with the server problem in September. I do not know how to fix it. It is very annoying.

Crazy Discount Behaviour

Goodness me!
I have found a very strange problem in SAP 8.81 PL09!
If I have an item with period and volume discounts, SAP uses the row level discount to calculate the row total price. The total discount at the bottom of the screen is ignored - this is fine.
The problem is: if I enter a discount in the discount field at the bottom, and then enter an item/qty which fires a volume discount, the discount field at the bottom of the screen is changed - this is most unwelcome!
Could someone help me? I am more confused than Maureen off Driving School navigating the Arc de Triomphe

2 questions,
first how can i change the datepicker icon? i want to use something slightly fresher that i have, say an image of a calendar for example?
the second question is a bit more ocmplicated.
i ahve used the send email behaviour no prolems at all, however i need to be able to on an existing site i used to build with addt have the ability to email documents that are uploaded by addt behaviours into the site?
so at the moment you can upload, delete and view the documents. the documents are displayed in a repeating table, i need to be able to have checkboxes next to each documents name and when selected when the person clicks the submit button it email the message with documents attached to an address they specify?
any help would be great.

i am happy to try figure it out using addt, ill have a go with checkboxes next to the recordset, i could set the ticked value of the checkbox to the name of the document from the recordset and give it a go?
i think it would have been a cool out the box feature, if you can help at all when you can with trying to impliment i would really appreciate it and i think it will definately help other users at the same time.
i have to say i love addt, so sad it is not around as such. i have noticed a few users talking about php5.3 support and just want to let users know i found a site which has the includes file patched:

Hope someone can help. I was accessing my emails this morning, but a few hours later and my password did not work. I tried to reset my passwork and it said that my account had been suspended. Why? How do I get my emails?

Welcome to the forums.
It's not spam, it's a crazy system behaviour - which is also copying to email addresses that have nothing to do with BT.
I have many email addresses from old legacy days, so it's obvious that something is wrong.
When BTSport started, I initially got their weekly updates on one email address, then it was randomly sent to any of the sub accounts on my main account. They have since stopped, probably due to the amount of complaints - and this is on mail accounts not transferred to BTMail.
Frankly the sofware coders are getting things badly wrong - it's a pure software issue, not a "server" issue.
These emails can cause many people to be scared in that the implication that someone has altered the password. This should be investigated ASAP, and a statement exactly why it happened.
I am still waiting for the replies why other faults have happened, it's not good enough that people are not told the reason.
