Create a crosstab with hierarchy in the middle with SDK
Here is how our crosstab looks like:
<Hierarchy> | <measure1> | <measure2> | <measure3>
-----------------------|---------------------|---------------------|----------------
Level 1 | 254 | 212 | 22
Level 1.1 | 200 | 111 | 14
Level 1.1.1 | 54 | 101 | 8
Level 2 | 13 | 0 | 0
This is our requirement:
<measure1> | <measure2> | <Hierarchy> | <measure3>
--------------------|---------------------|------------------------------|----------------
254 | 212 | Level 1 | 22
200 | 111 | Level 1.1 | 14
54 | 101 | Level 1.1.1 | 8
13 | 0 | Level 2 | 0
Is this possible (with SDK)?
Thats possible, check the simplecrosstab demo of the sdk (renderTable function).
You have to look up whether the
dimension has
members with
hierarchy nodes
and levels,
then render it the way you want

[How-to] Find the middle point between sides of two distant objects.
[In reference to my attachment]
I would like to find the middle point between object A's right-most segment (in green) and object B's left-most segment (in blue), quickly, effectively and reliably.
Ideally, there's a function i'm not familiar with that exists . I would rather not resort to having to create more objects to "figure out" the middle point manually, so-to speak.Dandreu,
In a more general case than assumed in the first post, if you wish to have an actual key point, you may:
1) Direct Select each of the path segments in question and Ctrl/Cmd+C+F+X+F,
2) Select either and rotate it by 180 degrees,
3) Object>Blend>Blend Options, with 1 Step, then Object>Blend>Make, then Object>Blend>Expand,
4) Select the line in the middle and Object>Path>Add Anchor Point.
You may also do a similar way where you add an Anchor Point at the middle of the segments and ClickDrag with the Line Segment Tool between them, but that is a bit destructive. -

I am in the middle of a job using CS 6, but at the same time opening the Creative Suite apps. I created an InDesign file in CS 6, saved it, and now I can't open it. I'm getting this message: Cannot open file because it was saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign CC (10.1). You must use that version or later to open the file." AARRGGHH! So how do I access the file?
Sounds like you opened and saved it in CC, so now you need to go back to CC and either complete the project there, or export to IDML to take it back into CS6.

How do I create a link to the middle of a page with Inherit Zoom?
I keep going around and around on this. I am using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and I'm trying to create an internal link in the PDF to go to the middle of the page somewhere else in the same document. I don't want to change the user's zoom level.
I can create a bookmark that does this by adding tags and having the bookmarks created from those tags (which is a ludicrious process, but at least a way). But links don't seem to attach to bookmarks or tags.
I can create a link that does exactly this by creating a document in MS Word, using styles and links to those styles and then saving it as a PDF. So I know the PDF itself can do this, I just can't figure out how to do it through Adobe.
Is there any way to create a link to a tag or to a bookmark? Setting a link to Page View always changes the zoom level, and then if I change the zoom back to Inherit Zoom the link just goes to the top of the page.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
ChrisHrm, I feel like I'm just missing something obvious. Here are the exact steps I'm taking:
Have zoom level up high enough so you're only seeing part of a page.
Click "Add or Edit Link"
Draw a box around the text.
Link Appearance:
Link Type: Invisible Rectangle
Highlight Style: Invert
Link Action: Go to a page view
Click "Next"
Scroll down so I'm looking at the middle of the next page.
Click "Set Link".
Right-click on the link-box and click "Properties..."
Click "Actions" tab and then "Edit" and change the Zoom to "Inherit Zoom". "OK" back to the page.
Change zoom level, use the hand icon and click on the link.
I'm taken to the top of the correct page and my zoom level doesn't change. I am not taken to the middle of that page, though.

I need to be able to add in more options into my drop down list in Numbers at a later time, not only at the bottom but say in the middle of the list. Should I be using a different program that can allow this to work? Thank you!
This forum thread appears to point towards the problem.

When I click to open a photo it opens a black screen with a grey triangle, exclamation mark in the middle. How do I fix this problem?
Make a temporary, backup copy of your library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Hello. May I ask: I am using Acrobat 6.0.2, and having trouble formatting a PDF created from multiple (jpeg) files. Each page is formatted to A4 size, portrait. But when I create the PDF, each sheet appears as tiny, in the middle of a huge white page. I cannot seem to find any controls to adjust this. Any advice appreciated.
Thanks CtDave, for the further info. Unfortunately, those suggestions are not working, which is strange.
....Until last week, I used to make multi-page PDFs straight from Photoshop: File > Automate > Make PDF. One simply choses the files, orders them, and creates a PDF. (Resolution doesn't matter; 300 DPI is no problem.) However, my new Photoshop CS5 does not have the option in Automate.
What I've done, seeing as Acrobat is letting me down, is use Bridge (new to me) to create the PDF. It worked without a problem, but seems like more work than the old PS method. I will download a newer version of Acrobat to see if that makes any difference.
.....Also, thanks Test Screen Name: I agree with you that jpeg is irrelevant, and that one can make a PDF from Photoshop (Print > Save As - pdf). But that only works for SINGLE PAGE pdf, not multiple pages as far as I can tell.
Kind regards,

In the middle of creating a book in Aperture I need more photos. How can I add them to the browser at this stage?
In the middle of creating a book in Aperture I need more photos. How can I add them to the browser at this stage?
You can add more images to your book, by dragging them from the browser to your book album. Switch to the Library Inspector, select the album or project with the images in the source list, and then drag these images onto the book icon. That will add them to the book album, and then double click the book album again to continue working with the book.

How to create the exposure circle in the middle?
Hey guys...
I wanna know how to create that exposure in the middle of this pic... It adds focus to the pic... Like the circular light in the middle...
Sorry, I'm very new :/
http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m51ol23d5n1ruc6bgo1_500.jpgIt's called a vignette, and my favourite way of doing it is with Camera RAW (ACR). You can open a JPG in by selecting it in Bridge, and either right clicking and choosing Camera RAW, or with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl r (Cmd r for Mac). The vignette under the fx tab.
But you can do it in Photoshop of course, and by several methods.
Open a Curves adjustment layer, and drag the center of the curve down which will darken the entire image.
Select the elliptical marquee tool, and making sure the mask is active in your Curves adjustment layer (it will have a double border) make a round selection in the middle of your image. It needs to be about ¾ the size of the image.
Fill the round selection with black.
Now invert the mask by using Ctrl I (Cmd I for Mac)
All that’s left to do now is blur the mask. So go Filter > Blur > Gausian blur
The nice thing about using this method is that you can see exactly how much affect the blurring is having. but you'll need pretty high values with Gausian blur. You will probably find you need to darken the edges more, so just drag the curve down some more.
OK, you can do that, but you could also have used the Masks panel to blur the mask by using the Feather slider. This would also give you the chance to make the selection bigger or smaller. You’ll find there are lots more ways to do the same thing as you get into the program, but I find it is hard to beat using ACR. -

my iphone was disconnected during a sink and now many songs are grey and have a red circle with a red square in the middle, they will not play
Thanks, this is not an ideal answer but probably the most sensible one in my case.
I will try it unless someone has a better suggestion, but I'll wait a bit as it will take me a few days anyway (I had actually tried to create a new smaller playlist or download by album, but at this stage the music app is not letting me queue a list of songs for download - I think I will have to disable and re-enable iTunes match which will probably delete all the songs).
I have to say I am not very impressed with Apple here - having an online backup of all your data and beeing able to restore it to a new device easily was a strong selling point of iCloud. For music, they are Definitly not delivering at the stage.
