Create Flash Professional component in Flash Builder 4.7

Hello,
I would like to make a Flash Professional Component in Flash Builder.
This is a lot easier for code hinting and you don't have to use a FLA file.
Also you don't have to right click the component in the library and "export component SWC"
The ONLY difference i've seen in the swc file files between a Flash Professional Component and a Actionscript Library Project (created in Flash Builder), is 3 lines of code in the catalog.xml file.
  <components>
    <component className="centomedia.components:CvPlayerComponent" name="CvPlayerComponent" icon="CvPlayerComponent_IconFile.png"  />
  </components>
Is this in any way possible?
Thanks for the help!

Come on, someone must have an answer? no?
even if the answer is, impossible

  • Problem: Custom Flash Professional Component

    Hi,
    I just installed a copy of Flash Builder 4.5, and am attempting to create a custom "flash professional component" in the Design mode of an mxml project. The documentations mentioned that in order to create this component, I have to press on the 'Create in Flash Professional' button in the properties window.
    Here's the problem: clicking on the button brings up a window to name the component, then clicking 'create' brings up Flash Pro, but that's about it. I was told an edit window will show up in Flash Pro, but it doesn't happen. Flash Pro just initializes into the start page and does nothing else.
    Am I doing anything wrong? Please help, thanks in advance!

    As far as I know, it is only Windows or Mac

  • Export Flash CS5 component to Flash Builder

    Hello there .
    I'm having some troubles exporting a movieClip made in Flash CS5 Professionnal to Flash Builder.
    I created a simple movieclip name test : rectangle and textinput inside name "title", then command ->convert symbol for Flex. Everything looks good. I publish the .swc and import it in Flash Builder.
    Everything is good when I just add the MovieClip :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
       xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
       xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" minWidth="955" minHeight="600" xmlns:local="*">
    <local:test />
    </s:Application>
    but when I try to set a value to the title <local:test title="Title" />, I get the following error : (sorry it's in french =O)
    Description Resource Path Location Type
    Initialiseur pour 'test' : les valeurs du type flash.text.TextField ne peuvent pas être représentées dans le texte. TestComponent.mxml /TestComponent/src line 5 Erreur Flex
    Google translate:
    Description Resource Path Location Type
    Initializer for 'test': values of type flash.text.TextField can not be represented in the text.TestComponent.mxml / TestComponent / src line 5 Error Flex
    There are a lot of tutorial showing how to integrate Flash Builder & Flash Cs5 but not so much tutorial about how you can import Flash CS5 component into Flash builder :/
    Hope you can help me

    Nevermind stupid question
    title points on TextField and not on .text property... of course -.-

  • I need help migrating an existing project from Flash Professional CS6 to Flash Builder 4.6.

    I have followed tutorials...instructions on the web...all I get are unsolvable errors.
    I have a large Air application that compiles fine and works in Flash. However I would like to take advantage of the as3xls api which does not work in Flash Professional (for no reason in particular the internet just tells me it won't work because Flash Professional cannot access some part of the Flex framework).
    So I want to make my project work in Flash Builder. However, when I attempt to reference my document class, flash builder gives me an error telling me the package path com.andrewbefus.ModelMapper no longer works. It does this no matter how I select the folder to reference my document class. If I change the path to nothing...Flash Builder is happy with my document class and unhappy with every other class I have made.
    Then I decided to make a new Flash Builder ActionScript file and simply replace the ModelMapper.as document class that Flash Builder created with my completed ModelMapper.as. After some messing around with paths and directories, I got Flash Builder to be happy with my program structure but then all hell broke loose on almost every single Class outside the Flash Builder framework. One by one I attempted to tell Flash Builder where to go to get my components, fl.motion classes, and my custom classes but Flash Builder refused to recognise them unless I reference the folder containing the files, and then proceeded to tell me that the project path of every single class needed to be changed. I imagine if I spend the rest of my day mucking around with this something else will come up.
    I went looking for a tutorial explaining how to migrate a Flash Professional project over to Flash Builder. The closest thing I could come up with told me to just select my fla. file by going Project<Flash Professional<Create project using Fla file... which worked great except refused to compile my project as a desktop application for no sane reason - giving no option to select my project when I attempted to create a new Run Configuration.
    One frustration after another....

    I've also followed all the instructions here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html
    Still no luck...

  • (.asc) Code Hinting in Flash Professional CS5.5 || Flash Builder 4.5

    Problem:  I would like to enable code hinting and highlighting in either Flash Professional or Flash Builder when developing an Actionscript Communications File (.asc).
    Steps Taken:
    Searched Google with limited success, most signs all pointed to FMSGuru.com where one may obtain an Eclipse Plugin, but:
    It was created in 2007 (likely out dated)
    It has known bugs that haven't been addressed
    Searched this forum / adobe's web site to find a solution, to no avail.
    Posted this, now, in an attempt to put this to rest
    Request:  If anyone knows how I can enable FP or FB to give code hints / syntax highlighting, I would really apprecaite some direction.  If not, I appreciate the fact you even read this.
    Have a good one. Happy Coding.

    To note, Dreamweaver has the ability to provide code hinting if I remember correctly but I'm perpetually disappointed in the FMS team for not providing even ONE item that helps in the development of server side coding for FMS. They have never provided anything and it's been up to the good will of developers for the platform to put together tools. As it is now, you'll probably never see anything better as most people (that I know of) have moved away from FMS, partially for this reason despite multiple requests that Adobe do something. Not to insult the FMS team, as they do what they have to do to pull in the paycheck, and the bean counters provide that and seem to be making most of the decisions.
    ok. rant all done now

  • Flash Professional vs. Flash Builder for Starling

    For games is there any difference in using Starling in Flash and Flash Builder? I’ve used both but I would prefer to use Flash Professional because it prevents me from bouncing in and out of Flash Professional and Flash Builder. What are the advantages of using Flash Builder over Flash Professional, if any? Performance? If I use Flash Professional I will use sprite sheets and particle effects, etc., and will use object oriented techniques, with no code in the frames.

    You should be able to use either one just fine. The differences (and your decision) comes down to the sort of editor you are most comfortable with. Flash Builder is much more code-oriented, of course but does nothing that cannot be accomplished using Flash Pro (aside from Flex, that is).

  • Creating flash cs3 component

    Hi,
    There is great and easy way to create flash based component
    in flash cs3 using action script 3.0.
    I am going to make a simple My button component which will
    behave likely same as flash native button component.
    You can modify this according your requirement this is just
    you give an idea about how we can go for creating a component in
    flash cs3.
    Follow these steps…
    1. Create a fla file and save this file with any name
    2. Create a movieClip and draw a rectangle shape on first
    frame.
    3. Right click on movieclip in library, select linkage
    4. Provide class name in text field area [MyButton] (you can
    use any name here which should matched with your class)
    5. Click Ok button
    6. Write class [MyButton]
    (you can copy and use this)

    Made new movie, on frame 2 places Full screen action, on
    frame 5 placed video component
    and stop(); action attached to frame. Projector pops large
    following by video playing
    just fine.
    I tried variety, first frame, many frames, all on one. Not
    able to reproduce your problem.
    Works on first go.

  • Flash Builder - No Code Hinting For New Flash Professional Project??

    I had been using flash builder as an as3 editor and compiling from flash builder. The Flash Professional Project in Flash Builder seems perfect. It will give me the flexibility to compile from Flash Professional, or compile from the flex sdk, use breakpoints, have all my files nicely in the package explorer.
    However, it has been a terrible terrible experience. For some reason code hinting is completely turned off on all levels in Flash Professional Projects. I have been looking in every preference panel trying to figure out why this is happening. If it is actually the case that you get no code hinting whatsoever then they really should not have even bothered adding this into Flash Builder because coding in this fashion is a joke.
    However, I am still optimistic about it. Can someone help me turn on code hinting?

    Ok. Solved it. The issue was that we were using linked source code and library swcs that were all located under the same directory. When you pull up the project's properties and go to "Flex Build Path" under the "Source Path" tab you can add that directory without a problem. However, under the "Library Path" instead of just adding the directory, I added each swc individually and that solved my problem. Now all the code hinting is working perfectly.

  • How do I reuse a custom component in Flash Catalyst?

    All-
    I'm sure this is easy, I simply can't figure it out.  I've created a custom component in Flash Catalyst with two states, open and closed.  I'd like to reuse this component in my app with different text assest.  How is this done?  Duplicating the component isn't available in this version...do I need to recreate the whole thing with different text?
    Cheers,
    `me

    If you look in the library panel, there should be an entry for your custom component - probably something like CustomComponent1.mxml. Drag this out onto the artboard to create a new instance of the component.
    In the case of a custom component, you can't change much on the second instance. If you have something like a text input skin though, you can change the text it is displaying for each instance.
    We are working on making this sort of thing easier in the future, so stay tuned

  • Workflow: Flash Pro (AIR) to Flash Builder

    I would like to publish to AIR from Flash Pro, but program and debug in Flash Builder. When I use the work flow of starting in Flash Pro and then moving to a Flash-Pro-in-Flash-Builder project the only run/debug option seems to be a web application.
    Is my workflow as described possible or do I have to do the full Flash Pro -> .swc -> Flex Project -> AIR workflow?

    Well I found this on the Flash Player debug download page (http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html):
    "10/3/11 - Updated debugger (aka debug players or content debuggers) and standalone (aka projector) versions of Flash Player 11.0 are available for Flash Builder 4, Flash Catalyst, Flash Professional CS4, and Flash Professional CS5 users"
    I tried installing the standalone player available there,  but after placing it in the proper Flash Pro CS5 directory at C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5\Players, the standalone player launched by Flash Professional CS5 still won't work with FP11 Stage 3D content.  I still get the VerifyError:
    "Error #1014: Class flash.display3D.textures::Texture could not be found."
    I am using Away3D 4.0.
    Oh well.  Guess I'll just have to keep viewing it in the browser for now  :-(

  • Debug flash professional project type with php

    It works with flex project type, you can also debug a flash professional project in flash builder but how can we debug both flash professional project and the php project in the same IDE.

    Thanks, I figured out the problem, I posted the issue in the correct forum: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/795021?tstart=0 for those who have it.

  • Why does flash site display incorrectly when i have Flash Professional installed?

    It appears that if I have Flash Professional installed or even Flash Professional CC, my Flash web site displays incorrectly in IE 10/9/8 and various versions of Firefox. This replicates on multiple computers, Windows 7, Windows 8 and has been an issue for 2+ years. On those same computers I can create virtual PCs, install FF and IE and view my site w/o problems and on many other computers it displays correctly. Design elements that should only be visible in the application are displayed in the browser when I have the apps installd. The first image is WIndows 7 running in virtual computer with IE9, the 2nd one is from the host computer using IE9. Any help will be appreciated.
