Create PS project via BAPI - using project templates (CJ01)

if is pos. to create a new project with BAPI* (if yes, which one? and how?) and use a project template (not an existing project).

I know how to create a PROJECT template, but is there a way to create SLIDE templates?

Basically I've got several modules, and throughout all the modules is several different pages (text&graphic page, hot graphic page, tab page etc etc).
What I would love to do is create a set template for each page type (a template for text&graphic, a template for tab page etc) as I have numerous instances of the same pages throughout all the modules (and also for continuity as well).
It would be great to create placeholders for slide templates just like the application in project templates, and then be able to drop these slides into different projects to have the same foundation to start adding data.
Project templates is a good start, but only if i want to use the same template throughout the entire module.
Any one know how to do this?

If you're using Cp5/5.5 you can create multiple master slides to them apply to the applicable slides (I don't remember if it was in Cp4).
Master slides are portable, also, you can copy all the elements and paste them onto new slides in the same project or a different project.
Insert > Master Slide
Which should create a new blank slide in the Master Slide panel. You add items to the slide like backgrounds, captions, rollover captions, highlights, shapes, animations (buttons/click boxes are not allowed). You use the timeline as you would with a 'normal' slide, but you can't adjust the length of the master slide (this doesn't impact the length of a 'normal' slide).
On your content slides you select the master slide in the Properties panel, general, master slide dropdown.

Is it possible to create a project template? (dsp v4)

Hi I'd like to create a dvd studio pro project template where I can make different DVDs, all with the same format and menus, just by replacing the video tracks on the disk with new ones. For instance I'd have a folder with my video source:
track.01.m2v
track.02.m2v
track.10.m2v
And I have a dvd studio pro project where menus are all layed out for thos tracks. I'd like to make a new DVD just by replacing track.01.m2v,... with different files.
However when I do this, DVD studio pro gets the start and end points for the new tracks wrong (it keeps the start and end points of the old tracks). When I delete the video clips for the tracks and replace them, they are right, but I'd like to streamline this as I often have 60+ tracks.
Any one else out there creating project templates like this? Is this even possible (I can't find documentation on it).

as you have described: no
DVDsp project file stores the length video on its tracks and does not refresh it when new assets are detected, so you end up needing to drag the end of each video file to stretch it to the length of the replacement asset.
What I havent tried, and may be worth an attemp, is to see how DVDsp responds when the replacement asset is shorter in length than the original. perhaps then DVDSP will refresh the video track accordingly. If this is the case you could then use videos of black, named 1.m2v, 2.m2v, etc and make sure all of their lengths is longer than any video you could possibly replace it with.
If that doesnt work, i suggest creating the project with empty video tracks and saving that. Everytime you start a new project open up that template, save as a different name, and drag all of the new m2vs into the empty video tracks.

How do I create a master page when using Project7 templates?

Hi,
I am using P7 templates to easily create a nice website. However, I would like to create for example the main menu only once and have it re-used on every page or at least every page I want to. I think this is a called a masterpage (?) where you can tag parts to be re-used on other pages.
Can somebody please tell me where I can find support, examples, tutorials on this? Or can somebody tell me how to do this in a P7 template?

You want to save your project page as a DW Template from which your other site pages will be spawned. Or, you want to use Server-Side Includes (SSIs).

Create Support Message via BAPI with additional partners

Hi all,
i need to create a support message (slfn) via bapi / function module. The basic creation is no problem with BAPI_NOTIFICATION_CREATE.
But i need to set additional partner(functions) like "approved by" in the support message. With this bapi i can only set the processor and creator of the message.
How can i add additional partners via BAPI call?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Daniel,
i do not think there is a standard functionality for this.
you can use function module CRM_DNO_UPDATE_PARTNER to set partner functions to a message. You will have to build your own RFC enabled function module around this, though.
Then you can use it to add your partners after the message was created.

Problem with creating business partner via BAPI

Hello! I have a simple File-RFC-File scenario:
XML-file with Firstname, Lastname and PartnerCategory. I use BAPI_BUPA_CREATE_FROM_DATA to create a partner with this data.
It works, in target file I have a number of new business partner, but I can't find new partner in the system. Like I only tested BAPI_BUPA_CREATE_FROM_DATA in "bapi" transaction without real effect.

RFC adapter allows to specify comit for BAPI
add this to your RFC channel configuration and you will see the partner

Creating Quality Notification via BAPI

I am attempting to create a quality notification using BAPI_QUALNOT_CREATE but am running into an issue. I need the ability to link the inspection lot number to the quality notification but I do not see a field for inspection lot in any of the BAPI segments. When i record results using defect codes in SAP, the quality notification that is created has the inspection lot linked to it (in the reference object tab). As there another field within the BAPI that i can use to pass the inspection lot number??

Thanks for the response. I have attempted to use the FM you suggested but still am not having much luck. After I feed the required data to the FM, I am prompted with the error message u201CNo quality notification type maintained for inspection lot type.u201D However in SPRO, under Quality Management -> Quality Inspection -> Inspection Lot Creation -> Maintain Inspection Types, the notification type is defined for each of the inspection types I am using. Create Contact Person via BAPI / CMD_EI_API (TCode VAP1)

Hi everybody,
I have to develop a function module, which has to be called from an external application (java). This function module should, create contact persons for customers (like Transaction VAP1 does).
I did not find any function module or bapi for this, but I found class CMD_EI_API, which seems to possibly help me. Unfortunately, there is no documentation for this class.
Could anyone help me getting the contact person's addresses into the system? Just hustle me into the right direction and I will walk by myself

I have this working. I wrote a wrapper BAPI. If inserting a new contact, you need to get a new partner number otherwise it won't work. There is extra code in this function module that you can remove. I left it as I used the logic for other customer update BAPIs.

How do i create a greeting card without using the template? I want a different size.

I want to use a different size than the templates. The size is A2 which is half of a 8/12 by 11 paper then folded in half. (that way you can print twocards per page). I want to be able to \ resize my image to fit this size, add text to the front half with the image and a little text on the back.

In Editor, go to File>new>blank file. Enter the dimensions of your paper stock (8 1/2x11"). Resolution 300px/in.
Copy/paste the image to each half of the card.
Use the move tool to position, and, to resize with the corner handles of the bounding box.
Place the text with the type tool.
Suggest that you open the grid to help with orientation (View>tick grid). It will not print.

"Buffer table not upto date" while creating Service entry via BAPI

Hi All,
I am facing the same issue while creating and accepting a service entry sheet via BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE in a report . I get a pop up message S001 (Buffer table not upto date) in ML81N. Though, it is not an error message it delays the further processing. I have checked the relevant threads for this message but since there is no SRM involved, I couldn't track the exact solution.

Please close all the applications and re-check your rquirement.
Also, check for any information from SM21 logs.
Some times, it can be due to program /report not correctly maintained.
Finally, Basis people need to validate & may re-start (cautios of Production system) system.

Job Creation via BAPI using BackgroundJob

Hello,
I'm working on Access and I'm submitting a JOB in SAP; till we were in release 4.7 my database worked but after the relase change I'm not able to us it again.
When I call my function in order to do "AddABAPStep" the system give me a Run-time error '4701'
"Non-BAPI methods with export parameters are currently not supported"
Hereafter the instruction that doesn't work :
oJobrun.AddABAPStep ExternalUserName:=pMUsrUser, JobName:=Jname, Jobcount:=Jcount, AbapProgramName:=xabap, AbapVariantName:=xvar, Return:=oReturn
Is there someone that is able to help me ?

Job Selection via BAPI using BackgroundJob

Hi to all,
I'm using "Set oJobList = oBAPICtrl.GetSAPObject("BackgroundJob")" to receive the list of job from SAP to my Access database.
Someone have already used it ?
I'm not able to understand how set selection parameter.
Set oJobSelectParam = oBAPICtrl.DimAs(oJobList, "Select", "JobSelectParam") give me a message "Error 0"
and so ...
oJobSelectParam.Value("JOBNAME") = "UNIVERSE"
oJobSelectParam.Value("USERNAME") = "COKKA00M15"
have no impact on parameter "oJobSelectParam".
Please help me.
