Create timestamp field

Hello,
I have a data entry form in Oracle APEX, and I need to create a column that lists the time the data was entered. How do I do this.
[email protected]

Hi,
You can create a field example - EntryDate - Date and when INSERTING/UPDATEING into the table enter intot the field using SYSDATE.
INSERT INTO TABLE VALUES( fld1, fld2... SYSDATE);
OR write a trigger on that table and assign the value SYSDATE to the field.
Thanks

If you find no direct command that allows you to create an index on JUST the date portion of a timestamp datatype column then I recommend you consider splitting date and time into two seperate columns.
If date is column "A" and time is column "B" then you can concatenate them using a view or virtual column (in 11G) to re-assemble them at run time.
In the solution I describe above you might trade ease of management for better performing queries.
    Additional Info:
This thread may be of some value.
Can we create INDEX on TIMESTAMP column???
And what datatype do you propose for your columns A and B? The only proper datatypes would be DATE or TIMESTAMP. Both of these inherently carry both date and time components, so that would have to be dealt with anyway. The use of any character or number datatype to hold date and/or time should be treated with an application of Billy's lead pipe.
Perhaps function based indexes would be a better solution.

  • Storing the Timestamp field in the Table

    Hi
I have a Z program and we need to store the timestamp field in the Z table . I have created the table with the dataelement
TIMESTAMP . Is there any system field that can be used to store the timestamp field from your program
say for example we have declared a work area of the structure of the Z table and Appended through the Internal Table and Modified that Z table.
My intention is store the Timestamp field in the Z table.

    Hi,
        you can add as below..
    types : begin of st_output.
                             include structure ztaxinvoice.
                             FKIMG1 TYPE VBRP-FKIMG,
                             FKIMG2 TYPE VBRP-FKIMG,
                             types : end of st_output.
or you can add this field to your structure 'ztaxinvoice'  as below
    'FKIMG1 TYPE FKIMG'
                                       'FKIMG2 TYPE FKIMG'
Then you can declare internal table and work area as mentioned below..
data: it_output type standard table of ztaxinvoice,
                            wa_output type ztaxinvoice.
here in this case no need of types declaration also you can pass the same type (wa_output type ztaxinvoice) in smartform.
    hope this will help you,

  • XML Forms. Add a timestamp field

    Hi all
I have a XML Forms project. I have included the valid from and valid until values and have tbs working.
Appart from this I want to insert in my form another Timestamp field.
In the datamodel I can´t create an entry of type timestamp, only date or time.
If I create it date and bind it to a timestamp reaader object from the toolbar I receive an error requesting to have a timestamp type of data binded to it.
    Any help to do this?
Let me know if you need more info.

    Hi Kevin,
there is no possibility to provide default values or vairable values for date and time properties in KM.
The only thing you can specify is the format:
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/42/e646150fbc3ee6e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/42/e646150fbc3ee6e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm</a>
One thing you could do is modify the xsl file and use some additional programming to fill the date whith the values you like.
But in the standard it is not possible.
Not only for XML forms, but in general for KM properties this is not possible...

  • Adding a timestamp field to a table (MySQL database)

I've defined a field in a MySQL table as type 'timestamp'
    eg. 2010-05-25 21:36:19
When I perform an insert using coldfusion, the row doesn't change the value in the timestamp automatically
Am I better creating my own timestamp field, type varchar and manually insert my timestamp values ?

No, it is a pretty bad idea to use a text field to store date-time information.  It makes it much harder to do date and|or time calculations on the data.
A timestamp field does not mean you have a field that automatically inserts a timestamp on record insert and|or update.  Just that you have a field that expects a 'timestamp' value which is usually a date-time value down to the millisecond precision.
You can set up the database to automatically create this value when data is inserted and|or updated, but that is more then just creating the timestamp field.  And the specifics will change depending on your exact database management system.  Searching the internets for information on your database managerment system of choice and auto and|or default values for fields should guide you in the correct direction.
Or you can insert timestamp data along with the other data you are inputting into the database.  The now() function combined with the <cfqueryparam value="#timeData#" cfsqltype="cf_sql_timestamp"> is a useful combination to do this.

  • Qualified Update - Timestamp field

    Hi All,
I'm having a qualified lookup FIELD1 and a timestamp field STAMP1 checking for changes in FIELD1, both in main table.
When I'm creating/deleting or updating qualified links in MDM Data Manager STAMP1 behaves as expected and displays the time of update.
BUT: when I'm using the MDM Import Server to create/update the qualified links STAMP1 doesn't get notice of it.
Anybody experienced this or knows how to fix this?
    Thanks & Best Regards,

    Hi,
I'm really sure. I can see how the qualified link gets created and the modification date doesn't change. The same happens when I update the link with new values.

  • TIMESTAMP field is not available in BW for the datasource 3FI_GL_P1_SI

    Hello,
We have created a datasource 3FI_GL_P1_SI using transaction FAGLBW03 for the Regulatory Ledger i.e. P1.
Now, when we check data in RSA3, we see that the TIMESTAMP field is available. This field is not hidden. When we replicated this datasource in BW, the TIMESTAMP field is not present. Has anyone faced such issue before?
One more issue with this datasource is that, though the TIMESTAMP field is present in R/3, its data is not correctly populated. This field should store the data in the format (YYYYMMDDHHMMSS) but it stores the hexadecimal data. However, when we check the data of the datasource 0FI_GL_14, the data is correctly populated. Could you please let us know how to overcome these issues?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nitin Chopade.

    Hi,
In RSA6 check the selection option then try to replicate and Activate....

  • How to get  generic delta using timestamp field

    Hi All,
i have created a generic datasource using tables vbrp,vbrk.mara,marc,knvv.. to get the sales data for planning. Here i have document created date and time.So i'm concatinating these 2 date and time fields into timestamp which is of format yyyymmddhhmmss. Finally i'm using this timestamp to extract data .
So is it the right way to pull the data using timestamp and what is the timezone i need to specify as the servers are in india only.
or any other way to proceed.
    Thanks
    Rao.

    Hi Rao,
Delta based on timestamp based on generic datasource only works if any one of the tables contains timestamp field(not time and date fields separately).
I dont think by combining date & time fields will give you correct results.
Regarding time zone: Use SAP system time zone.

  • Is there a way to create a field with total pages viewed?

Is there a way to create a field for a contact that stores the total # of pages he has ever viewed? We'd like to use this as a bases for lead scoring.

Please don't use big red text. There's no need to do so - it won't be more attention and in fact may put people off of helping - and it's really difficult to read.
Adding to what JG said, you can also purchase a prepaid iTunes card, available from most grocery store and discount chains in the US and other countries, and use that. You will need to enter in your address information, but you won't need a credit card.

    Hi,
I assumed you are using Application Enhancement Tool.
The prerequesite to use Application Enhancement Tool is you have to maintain the system settings in transaction AXTSYS.
Here you can define a default value, which will be displayed in WebUI.

  • How to get the co-ordinates of a dynamically created input field

    Hello Frn's
i have created a dynamic text view . but this text view is not appearing at proper position . I want palce it infront of a dynamically created input field . how can i do this ?
as i am thinking ...i should first of all  get info about the co-ordinates of   dynamaclly creatd input field . and with respect to these co-ordinates ...set the position of  text View .
    Please suggest  your thoughts .
    Thanks and Regards
    Priyank Dixit

    Hi,
There is no provision in WD for getting screen coordinates and then placing the UI element.
You to add the UI element to layout editor and based on the layout type it will add the UI element to respective position.
I would advice not to create dynamic UI elements( instead you can create them statically and then play with visibility status through context binding ). This will be more effective way and less error prone. This is also recommended practice.
still,For dynamic creation you can refer to following wiki:

  • How to set "Created By" field for KD Documents

In our system documents that are entered to the Knowledge Directory are not tagged with who it was that submitted them.
We would like to capture that information but I'm not sure how to enable it (or if its possible).
I've looked at the Global Property Map and don't see a setting for a document, I looked at the Global Document Map but that seems to specifically relay info between the documents meta data and portal properties (which is not what I'm looking to do).
Does anyone know how to attach the portal user in some type of "submitted/created by" field to a document?
    Thanks and happy September!

    Hello Keshav.T,
    Thank you for your information.
Finally, I got an answer from OSS and the following is that.
The popup is shown when there are more than 10 variants exist.
If do not want to have this popup, you can modify the include
    LSVARTOP in SE38:
    C_VARILIST TYPE I VALUE '10' - maybe change value to '100'
or if you want to have the popup but without the name inside:
change include LSVARE01 and comment the line:
    ename-low = sy-uname. append ename. "old
    ename-low = sy-uname. append ename. "new
I believe this message might be able to solve my problem.
    Thanks again.
