Could someone tell me the steps to create a transaction for a query?

No need to use small report
No need to use generated program name (it really can change)
Just create a parameter transaction with reference to START_REPORT transaction. When creating a parameter transaction you have to set the following parameters:
D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE = AQ
D_SREPOVARI-REPORT = precisely the first 12 characters - query user group (including trailing spaces), 13-th character is G for global queries
D_SREPOVARI-EXTDREPORT = Query name as shown in SQ01.
That's it.
Well, and do not forget to check the flag "Skip first screen".
To all others interested: just try to add some SAP query into a role via PFCG, then run it, and then via System -> Status look into the definition of the transaction generated, and you'll see the answer.

Best way of creating request for a query

hi,
what will be the best process to create the request for the query.
1.go to rsa1-> transport connection -> select query -> select BEx bus-> create the request, then change the query and save
OR
2. change the query first and assign the request in the transport connection
Please help me put.

Hi,
You would get problems when you transport it by the second method, like the Variable might get missed out when you edit the query and save it to the request.
First method through Transport connection is the best way to do it, to make sure all the objects are collected.

Error while creating service for BW query

Hi All,
          I am creating service in gateway system by using BW query.
          I had created service using Entity Type -> Redefine -> BW query Service
          It is generated successfully but when i am running through Gateway Client, It is throwing error, given below
        " The argument '67.504.82831' cannot be interpreted as a number."
          All properties are string but still it is giving error in number.
          I am using Netwiever Gateway 7.3.
         Kindly advise, what could be issue and , how we can analyse.

We are aware that system will not allow to create Service entry sheet for held po. But it is allowed me to create on a particular date. Another day i tried to create/delete a SES for the same PO or new PO(held status) system is not allowing me to delete/create SES.
Please help me what might be the reason which allowed me on a particulare date.

Create documentation for sap query

I go from se38--> select the program and then change documentation,
but the documentation button is grey.

Creating TCODE for ABAP Query

Hello everyone! I have created my very first ABAP Query, but I still need to create/assign TCODE for the said report. Can anyone help me with it? Somebody told me to use SE93. I found out that there are 5 options in SE93 to create a TCode, I tried all options but I could not get through it because I was asked for a program name or a transaction. What should I put in there? The query name? Please help.

HI Ervyone! Got it Already. To Get the program name of the ABAP Query,
         1. Go to SQ01> Query Menu>More Function--> Generate Program
         2. Go to SQ01> Query Menu>More Function--> Display Report Name. Copy the Report Name that Will be displayed.
         3. Go to SE93 Enter the TCODE that you want to use, then click on Create BUtton. Choose the second option "Program
              and Selection Screen (Report Option)". The next screen will ask for your program name, Paste/copy the program
              name and save it.

in case of regeneration programe name i got answer programame name will be change, i created and modified query but i saw the same programe name ,,, may be it changed when it is trasnported if so then what ??
and also pls give me solution for asiging tcode for query which is going to be regenerated.

Dear Farukh,
As we know,
Query is created in Production server and a corresponding program is generated by System.
What we have to do is just to assign the program to the desired transaction code in Development server and transport it.
If you have any doubts please let me know.

Variant for a query in Web

HI,
In my query I had a User entry Variable (Multiple Single Values) on 0DEPARTMENT.
I had give a list of 2000 departments in a excel file.
When I execute a query in WEB (7X Template) my requirement is to create a Variant so that if selected all the 2000 departments are included
How can I paste all the 2000 values in the variable screen and save it as a variant

Hi,
For this you will need to create variant for the query in RSRT transaction. Just goto RSRT transaction. Provide the query name and click on Query Variants button. You will get a n option to create variant for the query. paste all the 2000 values for that particular variable of the query and save it as variant.
Now when you will execute the query in the web you will get an option to select that variant from the query.

How to create documentation from BEx query

Hi,
I would like create documentation for each query,so that end user can get idea about particular query.
But I can see some documentaion from context menu(right click)->Goto->Display documentation.
Any tips???? Points will be given.

Go to www.help.sap.com
Select NetWeaver -> Select BI Content
In the left hand panel select your appliacion components (for Example:
Human Resource - > Recuitment -> Queries -> select any one query)
It will disply Technical name, Based on the InfoCube, Use and what are the
Free characteristics, characteristics, Keyfigures etc.
Now Create one Excel Sheet.
and create your document and show to your client.
If your client wants sample preview, then copy this query and check in the
BEx analyser. cut and copy that preview in your Excel sheet.
Then the Document looks beautiful...

Hi farukh,
1. If any query is re-generatred,
   then some MANUAL INTERVENTION
   is absolutely required.
2. Hence, what we prefer is this :
   1. Generate first query.
   2. Copy the code to a Z Program
   3. Attach tcode to THIS z program.
   4. Transport
3. Now,
whener the query is generated again,
   AGAIN COPY THE CODE
TO OUR Z PROGRAM (2ND STEP ABOVE)
                    (which has already been created)
AND TRANSPORT JUST THIS Z PROGRAM.
REST WILL TAKE CARE OF ITSELF.
4. In such cases,
ONLY COPY-PASTE IS REQUIRED.
(and it takes not more than 15 SECONDS)

Creating Restrictions in BEx query designer for (1-a), where a is variable.

Dear All,

But if I want to have (1-0P_PER), then plz tell me how to define this restriction?
Plz explain me the steps to perform (1-0P_PER) restriction in BEx query designer in BW1.

My requirement is that I want to have " 1-fiscal year"., But this I could not define using offset variables, since using offset we can define "fiscal year +1" or "fiscal year -1".
So there would be some other way to define "1-fiscalyear". So Please help me to define "1-fiscalyear" by giving me the steps.
