Created new Sales Doc Type - Cost Center field on header isn't showing

Hi,
I need to have the cost center input enabled on the header account assignment tab but it isn't showing at the moment.
On my new Sales document type the order category is "H Returns" is this blocking it or is there something else I need to do.
I don't want to auto assign the cost center just have it input enabled and showing.
Thanks

I found that sales doc category H for returns disabled the cost center.
Mine was a free good so I was able to change to an I which worked.

  • Should we create new sales order type for Brazil

    Hi,
We are having SAP Global templete environment & going for Brazil rollout. My question is whether we can have exitsing sales order type or should we create a new one so as to capture complicated Nota fiscal requirements.
    What SAP recemmends
    Thanks
    Amb

Most of the sales document types for Brazil are identified by BR in the description, for instance, sales document type ORB for Standard Order BR. This means a separate order type.
[Country version Brazil exclusively deals with Nota Fiscais.|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/10/e0f0371bc15d73e10000009b38f8cf/content.htm]

  • Cost Center Field on Billable Sales Orders

On the Sales Header>Account Assignment tab of a sales order the Cost Center field allow entries.  We use this for free order, but do not want it used for billable, and we have trouble from time to time with users entering in a Cost Center, thinking they used the right free order type.  The problem is we are not aware there is a problem until Goods Issue time (and alot of the time the shipment has already left the building).  They get a message like, Account Determination for entry COAS GBB EQPT VAY 7920 not possible.  What we would like to know is can there be a warning on a billable order at entry time so they can remove, or is it possible to make the field not editable?

May be you can have a different order type for billable and control the Order Reason field as non-editable via sale order user exit.
Perhaps, you can try with sale order User exits in the program MV45AFZZ - USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION

  • Why should we create a new sales document type

I want to know the actual reason behind creating new sales document type when the standard document is available

General procedure when setting up sales document types
You have three options for configuring new sales document types:
    1. Change an existing sales document type.
    2. Copy an existing sales document type and change it according to your requirements.
    3. Create a new sales document type.
    Recommendation
For small changes, SAP recommends that you copy similar existing sales document types in the standard SAP R/3 System and make the appropriate changes. Small changes might, for example, be, a changed description, a different number range or a different increment for the numbering of items.  The name is to start with the letter Z as SAP keeps this range free in the standard system.
This procedure has the following advantages:
All the specifications of the existing sales document type are copied. In particular, the data concerning, for example, partner determination, pricing or document flow which you would otherwise have to edit manually is copied.
You can test your new sales document types in respect to the settings made without having to edit the other settings.
When copying sales document types, item categories and schedule line categories, the SAP R/3 System automatically creates a log with the copied data. Using the log, you can check whether all of the copied data applies to your sales document type or whether you need to make changes.
    Actions
    1. If you need to make further changes, you should define new sales document types. To do this, you enter an alphanumeric key with a maximum of four characters for a sales document type and a textual description for the key.
    2. Maintain the specifications on the detail screen according to your requirements.

  • How define a sales doc type

    fellows
i've defined a new inquiry doc type RC and assigned to a SALES AREA. now i'm trying to test this new doc type and getting an error message. it says- RC is not DEFINED to a SALES AREA...so how do u define a new doc type to a sales area?
    thanks in advance
    ralph

    Step 1: Sales Document Type
IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales > Sales Documents >
    Sales Document Header:
    1. Sales Document Type:The sales document types represent the different business transactions, such as Inquiry, Quotation, Sales Order, etc. To create new sales order type, always copy as with reference to similar sales order. If possible use standard sales order.
    2. Define Number Ranges For Sales Documents: Maintain number range with discussion with core team.
    3. Assign Sales Area To Sales Document Types:
    A. Combine sales organizations / Combine distribution channels / Combine divisions: Ensure to maintain these, else Sales Order creation will give error.
    B. Assign sales order types permitted for sales areas: Assign only required Sales Order Types to required Sales Area. This will minimize selection of Sales Order Type as per sales area.

  • Delete a line item from Sales Doc type RE

Unable to delete a line item from a sales order linked to document type RE.  Get a long runtime - no specific error message.  Use the 'Stop Transaction' option to end the transaction.
Have done thorough testing and can delete line items linked to all other sales document types in our system.
Researched SPRO to see if there was a line item deletion option that was not created for sales doc type RE - but can find nothing.
On a critical time line here - this was discovered during Hotpak installation testing which is scheduled to move to PRD June 22.  Question as to why we have not run across this issue before now??  - I don't think we have had an occasion to delete a returns line item before - but I want to have the option if available.
Any help to resolve this issue would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Patsy

    Thanks for your response.
After creating document type RE, execute VA02 transaction, select line item, select delete line item icon.  The system goes into runtime and just stays there.  No error message, no abap dump.  To escape the transaction, I have to select 'stop transaction'.
I have tested all other document types we use in our system,  (including our customized transactions) SO, CR, DR, etc., and the system allows line item deletion.

  • Sales doc type

    Hi,
If in a business having Plant Sale,Depot Sale & Export slaes then I have to create one sales doc  type-ZOR1 for all types of sales & one document catgory & one pricing procedure.,Please give me the solution.
    Thanks,
    Siku.

    Hi,
Can you be more clear with your question?
But in case if you are asking whether you can use 1 doc type and 1 pricing procedure for different kind of sales scenario then answer to that is you can still use 1 doc type for plant/depot./export sales but its not advisable esp for depot sales u should use STO (stock transport order) for which already seperate doc type has been provided by SAP.
Also when coming tp pricing procedure its advisable to have seperate pricing procedures only for domestic/export sales as well as depot sales as the CTs would be varying as in terms of freight, taxes, surcharges etc (as applicable and as per country laws) and you need to take into consideration the excise implications ( or depot sales)

  • Cost Center field

    Hi Friends,
Is there a way to open up a new feild (Cost center) in the details tab at the header level in MIRO screen?
    Thanks in advance

    Krishna,
Thanks for the answer. I know that will be a problem if you open it at header level. The problem is we have a unplanned delovery costs in MIRO which needs to go to diff cost cneters based on the posting made in line item level. We made the configuration in OBYC and OKB9. But OSS says this can not be done by defining in detail assignment in OKB9. It suggested to use a substituion whihc i am not able to do, so i am thinking of other way around to open a cost center field at header level as we know we are going to deal with only one plant in one invoice.

  • Display cost center field under item level when creating sales order

    Hi dear experts,
during  the sales order creation(tcode VA01),  is it possible to display the cost center field in the tab account assignment under item level??
currently we are using ECC6,in the tab account assignment, the cost center field was actually already defined in the screen by the system...i used to try to 'activate' the cost center field VBAP-KOSTL in the user exit  MV45AFZZ, but the cost center still not shown.
I know that there is a config to the sales doc type can be used to open the cost center at header level, how about item level?
    thanks and best rgds
    Mu

    Hi,
The Cost Center Determination settings is in OVF3 -  but there are some cases where the Cost Center must be exceptionally changed.
If the document category for order type in IMG VOV8 is defined to be "I" which belong to order type FD - Deliv.Free of Charge, then the field cost center is active for input during transaction VA01.
Alternatively, you can specify an order reason and assign a cost center to an order reason.
However the standard SAP works only at the header level though, so it would not work if cost center is needed on the line item.
The cost center are assign for such business transactions as :
    - Free deliveries
    - Returns
    - Deliveries of advertising materials
You can also make cost center allocation dependent on the order reason, for example:
    Order reason: Damage in transit
    Order reason: Free sample
Both the IMG settings are done in transaction OVF3, either with/without the order reason.
    regards,
    Siddharth.

  • Hide/Suppress Cost center field in MIGO and MB1A for movement types 551&552

    Hi All,
Can anybody tell me how to suppress or hide the cost center field in MIGO or MB1A for movement types 551 and 552?
I did below settings and it worked fine for only MB1A and for MIGO still it is showing cost center field.
IMG > Materials Management > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory >Goods Issue/Transfer posting > Define screen layout > select movement type to change the option.
Also I did gothrough the settings for Enjoy transaction (MIGO) there we have only option to make fields either  "Required entry" or "Optional entry" and we don't have an option to hide/suppress.
Please advise or help me .
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Praveen

    Hi
The cost center field is a required field in mvt type 551 as you are scrapping materials, some cost center will need to take the cost of this operation.
Anyway, you first need to make the field as optional for example, before you move.
One option is that you create a screen variant in Tcode SHD0 for MB1A, where 551 is setup as constant (with content) , and mark Cost center as invisible and assign this screen variant to a transaction in SE93.
    regards
    Sidi
