  • Creating multi-lingual websites in ucm

    Hello,
    is it possible to create multi-lingual websites in ucm?
    The product webpage (http://www.oracle.com/products/middleware/content-management/web-content-management.html) says yes. But I can't find anything in the documentation or in Site Studio.
    Regards

    Internal content server and site studio pages (and a few others) can use the "lc" iDocScript function and a set of resource files to localize things. From there you'll need to figure out an approach for multi lingual contribution regions which can be anything from some serious customizations to having a separate copy of the site for each language.

  • How to design multi-lingual reports w.r.t. boilerplate text

    Hi,
    We need to design reports and report templates that are multi-lingual with respect to the boilerplate text in them.
    How could this be done, if at all?
    I am a bit familiar with the ideas about NLS parameters used to translate and format data that comes from the database, error messages etc., from other OTN posts and Reports documentation.
    NLS stuff is NOT what I'm asking about.
    Also, I don't think I need to mix languages in one report (or maybe is this part of a possible solution?)
    Can I design a report which dynamically displays its boilerplate text parts in different languages, depending on the Windows locale of the user invoking the report?
    Can I put all the boilerplate translations inside the report or some report 'configuration' file, rather than somewhere in the database?
    If the report is set for batch production and automatic distribution, how would the scheduling mechanism tell the report which language to have its boilerplate text displayed at each invocation?
    I think we'll be using Reports Builder 6i for development and will deploy on 9iAS R2 Reports Services. I'm not the actual developer, so I'm not sure about which Report Builder version will be used.
    Thanks a lot,
    Gabriel Tanase

    hello,
    there are several ways to do it. i guess the most practical way is to actually use the XML customization feature that is available with reports or use translation hub, but since you stated that you are using 6i this is not an option as translation hub is only available from 9i onwards.
    however the XML customziation approach would work for 6i as well. essentailly you create your report and make sure all your boilerplate text items have a uniqe name. then you can create a customization file for each language that then changes the content of each of the poilerpalte items. those can be applied at runtime or in batch.
    as for the scheduling, you would need to either pass in a parameter naming the customization file or simply run the correct language version of the report.
    thanks,

  • How to create multi level reports?

    The report I have created contains 25 columns and is to wide. I would like to create a multi level report in the fashion of below:
    Col 1 Col 2 Col 3
    Row1 Row1 Row1
    Row2 Row2 Row2
    Col 5 Col 6 Col 7
    Row1 Row1 Row1
    Row2 Row2 Row2
    I am assuming this needs to be done by modifying html in a template.
    I have cut up a normal report to try and illistrate what I am thinking.

    I greatly appreciate the help. Thanks.

    Hi,
    OK - I've put together a horizontal scrolling report template for a Theme 12/Standard report: [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=33642:198]
    To create this, you need to:
    1 - Through Shared Components, Templates - create a new Report Template based on a copy of the existing Standard report template.
    2 - When you have your new template, edit it.
    3 - In the template's "Before Rows" setting, replace what's there with the following:
    <style type="text/css">
    #table1 th {white-space: nowrap}
    #table1 td {white-space: nowrap}
    #table2 th {white-space: nowrap}
    #table2 td {white-space: nowrap}
    </style>
    <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" summary="" style="padding:0px; border-collapse:collapse;">#TOP_PAGINATION#
    <tr><td>
      <tr>
        <td style="vertical-align:top; background-color:#EFEFEF; padding:0px; border:1px solid darkgray;">
          <div id="d1" style="background-color:white; margin:0px; border:0px; padding:0px;">
          </div>
        </td>
        <td style="vertical-align:top; padding:0px; border:1px solid darkgray;">
          <div id="d2" style="overflow-X:scroll; margin:0px; border:0px; padding:0px; border-right:1px solid darkgray;">
    <table cellpadding="0" border="0" cellspacing="0" summary="" class="t12Standard" id="table2">4 - In the template's "After Rows" setting, replace what's there with the following:
          </div>
        </td>
      </tr>
    </table><div class="t12bottom">#EXTERNAL_LINK##CSV_LINK#</div></td></tr>#PAGINATION#</table>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var d1 = document.getElementById("d1");
    var t2 = document.getElementById("table2");
    var t1 = t2.cloneNode(false);
    t1.style.width = "100%";
    t1.id = "table1";
    d1.appendChild(t1);
    var t2Rows = t2.rows;
    var k;
    var r;
    var c;
    for (k = 0; k < t2Rows.length; k++)
    r = document.createElement("TR");
    t1.appendChild(r);
    c = t2Rows[k].cells[0].cloneNode(true);
    r.appendChild(c);
    t2Rows[k].deleteCell(0);
    d1.innerHTML += "";
    </script>5 - On your report's Report Attributes, change the template used for the report from "Standard" to your new one
    6 - Also on the report's Report Attributes, set "Enable Partial Page Refresh" to No - this is required as we need the javascript in the template to be run whenever pagination happens and Partial Page Refresh does not seem to allow us the means to trigger javascript
    7 - Finally, on the report region's Region Footer, add in:
    <style type="text/css">
    #d1 {width:75px;}
    #d2 {width:500px;}
    </style>#d1 refers to the width of the frozen column and #d2 is the width of the rest of the report - you can adjust these figures as required.
    The template contains two DIV tags - d1 and d2. Initially, d1 is empty and d2 contains the report. The javascript moves the first cell in each row from d2 to d1. The styles then add the scrolling functionality.

  • Multi Lingual Report issue

    Hi Everyone,
    All our reports are multi lingual. By setting the "NLS_LANG" parameter the report displays french or spanish or english strings. The problem I am having is when I open this report in the report builder and make any change and save it, the report no longer displays the strings based on the "NLS_LANG" parameter. It only displays the strings in one language based on the "NLS_LANG" value that was set, when the report was saved.
    Can any one help me with this issue. How do I save this report so that it continues to display strings/boiler plates based on the "NLS_LANG" parameter.
    Thanks!

  • Multi query reports and BI Publisher?

    I have to create a report that gathers data from DB using several SQL queries - text mixed with data tables. I was not able to find anything like that in Apex 3.0 or BI Publisher. Am I missing something?
    As a solution I was trying to pass more complex, hierarchical XML data structure to BI Publisher with several repeating groups that would serve my purpose. Apex seems to generate only one level XML.
    Is there a way to generate XML file manually and pass it to BI Publisher?
    Thank You

    Does anyone have an idea on how to create multi-query report?
    ..or maybe how to manually create XML and pass it to BI Publisher?

  • Product Name in Multi Lingual

    Hi Gurus,
    In our project we have a requirement to show the product name according to application locale's language.i.e if ENU object manager is being used the multilingual name created with ENU should be displayed, and if ARA OM is used ARA name should be displayed in all the areas like Order Items, Quote items, Installed assets etc.
    According to bookshelf, we have created multi lingual product translation records for products in Admin-Products, respectively.
    1) Simple products - Translations
    2) Complex Products - Went to product definition, then open Work Space, translations
    But in Quote items, Order items, assets, we still see the actual product name mentioned in S_PROD_INT.NAME column.
    Please help me in fixing this.
    Thanks

  • Multi-Lingual JSP Reports

    Hi,
    Can I use the customize xml functionality for providing multi-lingual capability for JSP reports?
    I have been able to replace report fields labels with foreign language/customized labels for PDF and 6i-style HTML reports. How should one go about implementing this feature for JSP reports (reports with web source).
    Thanks,
    Bharat

    Hi Bharat
    I do not think you can use the xml customization for web reports which you run from jsp engine and not through Reports servlet. However if character set setting in your web report jsp page matches with your required language, the report output with come in same lang settings. So you do not have any issue for the data part. And you can edit the web report jsp page to correct the Labels etc.

  • Can we create Multi Tabbed excel Sheet using Crystal Reports 2008

    Hi,
      We want to create a Crystal Report which will export the output as multiple Tab's ( we can use sub reports).  Can we create a Multi Tabbed excel Sheet using Crystal Reports 2008 ( not  Crystal reports Basic 2008). Please share any information/links on how to do that.
    Also if it is not supported please let us know which version supports it.
    Thanks,
    Vasu

    At least one of the 3rd-party Crystal Reports Desktop Scheduling tools listed at: http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html provides that functionality.  It allows you to burst a single report so that each Group at level 1 becomes a separate tab.  You can control the tab names (and tab colors) via fields/formulas inside the report.
    You can also automate the process of exporting to (and also replacing or appending to) specified tabs inside existing workbooks.

  • How to create multi-reports based on one user parameter - URGENT!

    Hi, can any one help me? I want to create multi-reports at one time and each of the reports should be generated based on a parameter :subid. The db schema is like this:
    table projects(sub_id, project_id, value, builder_code)
    The main query is "select builder_code, sum(value) from projects group by builder_code where sub_id = :subid".
    The subid will be from the same table: select distinct sub_id from projects.
    What i hope to do is to create each report for each sub_id (subscription id) one by one.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Sean,
    Yes, bursting was introduced in Oracle9i Reports. For 6i, the only option may be to write a utility, which keeps submitting the same command to run the report, but every time with a new subscription ID. The query inside the report will be the same as you suggested in your first post:
    select builder_code, sum(value) from projects group by builder_code where sub_id = :subid
    You utility will have to fetch all the subid's from the table, and keep submitting the report request with each subid (the report requests with different subid's can be either submitted one by one, or all at the same time).

  • Multi Lingual String not getting displayed properly with Java 1.5.4

    Hi,
    I have a strange problem and i think the problem is due to java 1.5.4.
    Problem is:
    My application was previously deployed on weblogic6.1 server and jdk used was 1.3.1
    After i migrated my application to weblogic 9.2 and started using jdk 1.5.4, i am not able to correctly view the data which is stored in different languages on browser.
    Some more details:
    OS - Linux.
    Database - Informix 9.2
    Intresting part is :
    If i enter a new multi lingual string from my application (deployed on WLS 9.2 with JDK 1.5.4) and store it in database, and then try to retreive it, it is displayed correctly.
    Issue arises only when the multi lingual string created and stored in database from my old application (deployed on WLS 6.1 with JDK 1.3.1) is retrieved and displayed in the new application (WLS 9.2 with JDK 1.5.4).
    Hope my issue is clear and if any one has any clue as to how to solve this issue. Kindly help

  • Use of project view to group project records in multi-project report

    I have a summary level multi-project report to report summary level information for active projects.  We are using project view to organize our projects between departments and divisions (hierarchical structure) - represented by folders in project view.  Projects are occasionally moved between project folders.  If anyone has experience with report development using folder structure?  My intent is to create grouping band based on folder structure and list projects under appropriate folder/band.
    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
    I am using CM14.1 with OBIP 10.1.1.7
    Thanks,
    Prath

    If you are creating a standard multi-project report (no retrieval criteria; project_state=0)  and you run this report from within PCM, PCM automatically appends to your syntax the filtering criteria for the "folder" the user has highlighted in the project tree.  In this case you would have one report that would retrieve multiple sets of data actively depending upon the project tree position.  I have seen sometimes this causing issues with certain base syntax, but in general this should work.
    Sounds, though, like you're building your report to call to the raw project_view tables, and Rick pointed out you need to use both of these tables then most likely.

  • How to Design Multi Page Report in SSRS 2008

    Hi All,
    I have managed to create a multi page report. When I am preview mode i can see that the report has 2 pages.
    But when I am in design view I cannot view the second page. How can I view the second page. Reason being I am trying to create a template where the table for certain data needs to be at the top of the page and some data at the middle and so on.
    Thanks in advance.
    Aash.
    Aash

    Hi Aash2,
    According to your description, the behavior of cannot view the second page in design view is expected, in another way, there is only one page in design view.
    Report Designer supports two views: Design to define the report data and report layout, and
    Preview to display a rendered view of the report. If you would like to show a table on the first page, and show the other table on the second page, you can add a page break on the first table like followings:
    1. Click the gray handle in the first table, select “Tablix Properties”
    2. Click “Add a page break after” check box under Page break options in General Tab
    After do above, you can see the first table in the first page, and the other table in the second page.

  • Multi Column Report - printing Across and then Down

    Is there any setup option for a multi column report to go across and then down instead of down & across as a default. The problem I am experiencing is that some where and some how the two columns are not horizontally aligned properly - neither in the
    report view nor in the exported PDF.
    The added difficulty is the problems created by this misaligned labels while printing on a custom paper that is smaller in size. Though I can setup the custom dimensions and get the desired 4x2 labels on the screen the printing doesn't sit in proper places
    on a preformatted paper.
    Is there any solution(s). Thanks in advance.

    Hi Christal,
    Based on my understanding, you want to make multi columns go across then down in the report.
    For your requirement, on query level, we should add an additional field(DisplayColumn) in the dataset, the field indicates the column in which the corresponding records will display. When designing a report, we add a group in the report, then insert some
    tablixes into the detail row. Within the nested tablix, we specify filter expression based on the value of DisplayColumn field. So that we can decide which data should display on which column. When previewing the report, you can find the report displays like
    newsletter-style. Besides, if we design the report like this, the report can supports all renders. For detail information about how to design the report step by step, please refer to this article:
    Creating Multiple-Column Reports [SSRS] .
