Creating OR joins in Business Area

Hi,
I need to create a OR join between one fact and one dimensions in a Business Area.
Like Join
t1.fiscal_year_week = t2.fiscal_year_week
or t1.fiscal_year_week = t2.FISCAL_YEAR_WEEK_PRIOR.
When I try to add another join condition in the Discoverer Admin it only defaults to AND join, and there is no option for selecting OR, AND in the create join window.
Can anyone suggest how to do this.
Thanks
Jay

Hi Michael,
We already have joins like Rod said by making data available through two folders.
But the query created by discoverer still has AND join only. Am I missing something. see below the query
FROM TDW_PROD.FISCAL_WEEKS o100221,
TDW_PROD.SITES o100290,
TDW_PROD.TRANSACTION_SITE_ITEM_WEEK o146091,
TDW_PROD.FISCAL_WEEKS o155417
WHERE ( (o100290.SITE_ID = o146091.SITE_ID)
and (o100221.FISCAL_YEAR_WEEK = o146091.FISCAL_YEAR_WEEK)
and (o155417.FISCAL_YEAR_WEEK_PRIOR = o146091.FISCAL_YEAR_WEEK))
Also I tried creating two seperate joins to the same folder..
Here is the step I followed
I created a inner join first
then another join between the same two folders as outer join.
then created discoverer worksheet choosing the outer join.
this created query with join as below. no OR joins. I even tried selecting both the joins in the worksheet
FROM tdw_prod.fiscal_weeks o100221,
tdw_prod.sites o100290,
tdw_prod.transaction_site_item_week o146091
WHERE ( (o100290.site_id = o146091.site_id)
AND (o100221.fiscal_year_week_prior = o146091.fiscal_year_week(+))
I even tried selecting both the joins in the worksheet. still it only created AND join only
FROM tdw_prod.fiscal_weeks o100221,
tdw_prod.sites o100290,
tdw_prod.transaction_site_item_week o146091
WHERE ( (o100290.site_id = o146091.site_id)
AND (o100221.fiscal_year_week = o146091.fiscal_year_week)
AND (o100221.fiscal_year_week_prior = o146091.fiscal_year_week(+))
Thanks

  • How to create a Fixed Asset Business Area that is restricted to a ledger

    Hello gurus,
I am having trouble creating a Fixed Asset Business Area that will only restrict users to use only one type of ledger in Discoverer Admin. How do you go about this?
I know how to create the business area but not sure how to restrict it.
    Any guidance is much appreciated.
    Thank you.
    -Nelly

    Hi,
You can restrict users to using one type of ledger by adding mandatory conditions to the folders in the in the business area. The conditions can be dependent on the user and/or responsibility so that different users/responsibilities have access to different ledgers. These mandatory conditions do not show in the workbook and cannot be changed by the Disco plus/desktop user.

  • A/c doc not created and error msg "Business Area Miss-Match Check input"

    Hi,
After creation of new Plant and Business area create a invoice , But my accounting document does't created and error msg show "Business Area Miss-Match Please Check Your Input". plz suggest me.
    Regards,
    Sohail

    Dear Sohail Rahman,
Looks like the Business area has not been properly assigned.
Business area can be created for three combinations:
    1. Business area by sales area
    2. Business area by plant and division
    3. Business area by plant and item division
In your case, check whether the business area is maintained for the combination of plant/division and plant/item division.
    Hope this helps

Thank You so much for your replies. I thought I had done the business area step, but I was indeed missing a small config.
Anyways that is done but am still not able to create my Sales Order.
Pricing Error: Mandatory Condition MWST is missing.
I defined a condition record (VK11) for MWST and also defined the pricing procedure for my sales area with MWST.
But the sales order still gives the same error. I tried logging out and creating it again, but no good
    Please help

  • Best practices for EUL/Business Areas

What is the best way to handle multiple business areas? Even if they have no relations with each other?
Should I have one EUL with many business areas in it? Or many EULs with one business areas in each?
Does any one know where I can find the advantages and disadvantages of each?
    Thanks,
    Rob

Hey there (repost of a similar thread in this forum).
Many clients I've been at have the exact same discussion. And the one I push for is to have 1 EUL, let the BIS views have their own business areas and like you said, don't customize them.
For all corporate business areas, folders, etc. just create them in the same EUL but the business areas have a corporate prefix (ie: coca cola would have a CC_ prefix). That way ALL folders can access the BIS views if wanted (ie: join across business areas), special setups (ie: LOVs) could be in a particular business area where ALL folders could access) and updating BIS views with new versions would be a problem.
I really don't like multiple EUL as it's one of those simple things that can be a gotcha' for many end users that drives the helpdesk nuts trying to understand why a particular user can see his info.
Just my take (and of course, what I think is the 'best practice' 8-) ).

  • Cost centre without business area

    Hi All,
I have document splitting with business area and profit centre mandatory, along with this i have configured business area wise FSV in OBY6.
We have  configured 10 business areas and 5 profit centres, but i have  created cost centres without business area and i dontwant to create cost centres with business area becoz junk master data in system and no control to users. also i have done configuration in OKB9 for automatic posting expences account with the combination of valuation area-business area- & cost centre, but when we are posting any financial document though MM or SD transactions like PGI or MIGO for service, system is not allowing to post financial document without business area cost centres. Error "Business Area XXXX / Cost centre XXXX is not assigned".
After all analysis i came to know that, if we have cost centre with business area then only we can move with this set of configuration. Is it right?
In No. what need to be done. basically we dont want to create cost centres for all Business Area
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sahil

    Hi,
If you are not ready to maintain BA in CC master you should write Substitution / you should maintain derivation rule for deriving business area.

  • Business area default in asset master record

    Dear all
Here is one ticket pertains to asset
when i create asset master record business area will be defaulted
the problem is when i upload asset master record through LSMW
by different business area the system throws a error message BUSINESS AREA EXISTS WHICH CANT BE REPLACED THROUGH LSMW
This is happening for all the asset classes
so i want to remove that default business area from where should i remove that which t-code or menu path
    regards ravindra kumar

    Dear ravinagh
removing of business area in asset master record is always possible but
see when u  r uploading bulk asset master records through LSMW we cant replace the business area  as it is already defaulted in asset master record
means some where we have assigned  the default values to the asset classes or some other master record
so we have to find out the source of the defualt business area for asset master record
when we remove this from the asset classes then the business area will not be defaulted so that we can upload assets from LSMW with different business area
so please try to find out the source....................

  • Business Area should be defined

    Hi
I proposed that each location (branches) of my client should be defined as an profit center (for getting trial balance at business area level).
But my client is insisting for creating location as a business area and not profit center.
But i think business area concept is obsolete in SAP ECC6.0. I believe that the SAP has stop providing support for business area.
I want to show the OSS note or some link on the basis of which i can tell that it is better to use profit center than business area.
Please help where i can get this link or OSS note

    Meenu,
I can't speak for what SAP will support/improve in the future.  You can raise a message with SAP if you have doubts. ECC6 has improved functionality that reduces the need for Business area reporting, but I have never heard that SAP does not intend to support.
Use of Business Area is optional, but it is definitely supported in ECC6.  And, ECC6 will be in 'standard' maintenance until end of 2015, extended maintenance until end of 2017.  Will your consulting contract last longer than that?
At the end of the day, if the client wants it, and it solves his business requirements, and it is currently available, then why shouldn't you accommodate him?
    Best Regards,

  • Business Area not flowing automatically in Shipment Cost document

    Hi there,
In transportation module, while creating shipment cost document, business area is not flowing automatically. Upon more exploration we found that plant is also not flowing, and may be because of that business area is not flowing. What can the posible reasons for plnt not flowing? Suggest solution.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Deepshikha

    Dear Deepshikha,
Please check the Assign purchasing data settings in T_53 transaction with the combination of the plant.
Through this setting plant will flow in the shipment cost document.
I don't have idea about where the businees area field avail in the shipment cost document.
If so please chek the settings related to business area through this IMG path.
    SPRO>IMG>Enterprise structure>Assignment>Business Area Account Assignment.
    Define Rules By Sales Area
If Rule 1 is assigned then
Assign Business Area To Plant And Division
If Rule 2 is assigned then
Assign Business Area by Sales Area.
I hope it will help you,
    Regards,
    Murali.

    Dear Experts,
we have a scenario like below..
we have defined the document splitting with two characteristics 1. Business area  2. Profit center.and  we have created Plant as a Business area.
we have two plants like Plant A, Plant B, Plant A is Manufacturing Plant, B is Trading Plant, Production is happening at Plant A, and we are transferring the stock to Plant B which is trading Plant, i am doing STO from Plant A to Plant B with two step Procedure with Movement type 641
    Account Entry like below

Please can you suggest to take the P&L Statement for Both the Plants.

  • CO Validation check Business Area

Hi gurus, so my request is to give me solution about my validation.
i wish skip business area to be fill in field - business area in KS01.
    My validation is:
    Prerequisite:  Controll. area = '1000'
Check:Company Code IN COMPANYCODES (set all company codes ) AND not Business Area in BA(set all
    Business Area)
    Message: error (e)
but nothing happend - what i create wrong? my business area is activ in company codes.

Srinivas is right. The validation only works when a CO document is being created due to a posting or allocation and not at the point of filling in master data. If you have business area active in your company code then you must include a business area. I think the best you can do in this case is to either deactivate the business area in company or create a dummy business area.

  • Business Area in Contract(ES22) is blank on move-out cancellation though IC Web

    Hi expert,
Need help in finding the root cause for the below scenario:
During move-in through IC-Web, business area field is getting populated in ECC at contract level(ES22).
Then we create a move-out, business area field still remains.
But when we cancel the move-out, this business area field becomes blank.
Business Area Field name in ES22:
    EVERD-GSBER
I tried putting RFC trace but not able to find any relevant program.
Please let me know if you have come across this type of issue or atleast give me some pointer?
    Appreciate your help.

  • New Business Area Configuration

    Hi,
I have an issue,Please support me!
So far we have not configured Business Area and using company code only.
However owing to business requirements we are planning to configure 4
    (four) business areas.
This project we are rolling out from 01-Apr-2009 (Starting of new
    fiscal year).
In this contxt request you to highlight the other areas that will get
affected and precautions to be taken.
Also after configuration of new business areas, "trail balance sheet"
    has to be tallied.
    Regards
    JNRao

    Hi,
Configuration of business areas won't create any problems to trial balances, but you can create statements for different business area level,
Business areas are not assigned to company code, so all company codes under your company can any of the business area's.
Make sure that filed status groups are maintained properly to use business area's for transaction posting.
    Thanks,
    Mahesh
