Creating placeholders on supporting document tab

When writing specifications, we have several documents that are required to be uploaded to the supporting documents tab. Is there a way to create a "placeholder" for the supporting docs and save it without having to upload the actual document?

There's currently no way to do this in GSM. Thats a great use case for GSM templates though, please submit an enhancement request and we'll consider it for a future release.

  • How to create placeholders in Pages

    How do I create Placeholders in my document, that allow for images to be dragged from iPhoto or from a Finder window into the Placeholder.
    I am running the latest version of Yosemite as well as the latest version of Pages.
    In the old version of Pages (I think it was called Pages '09), one simply created a Placeholder, by placing a shape in your document.  You then set all of the attributes of the Placeholder, such as shape, size, frame, shadow, placement etc. Once you are happy you drag a photo in from the inspector panel on the right of the screen.  Make sure that the image, is correctly sized within the Placeholder, by adjusting the Mask.  Then all you do is duplicate this Placeholder, throughout your document and all the attributes stay exactly the same, you then just drag photo's into the various placeholders, and they automatically resize to the Placeholder.
    Then Apple got it into their heads to downgrade Pages '09 to the latest crap version.....
    Now you have a stupid pop-up media box at the top of your screen.  You insert the photo, from iPhoto, set all the attributes, i.e. frame, size, shadow, placement etc.  You can then duplicate this throughout your document.  However, in order to change the image, you need to "right-click" select "replace image", then the stupid pop up window opens up and you can select your photo.  The problem with this process, is that the pop-up window defaults back to the start of your file tree, which means lots of searching time going through all your events to find the right image, and you have to do this search for EVERY photo in your document.  When you insert 20-30 images into every document, this becomes a very tedious process, resembling windoze word!
    The image that you initially placed, cannot be changed by the drag and drop process, if you try to drag from either a finder window or iPhoto, the photo will not go into the frame, it places it onto the page, in large size so you then have to set all the attributes!!
    If there is no way of fixing this, does anyone know how I can UPGRADE BACK TO PAGES '09?

    Deposit, scale, and position your image in your document with any appropriate text wrap. Select the image, and from the Format menu > Advanced, choose Define as Media Placeholder. Save this as a template. In future usage, you can drag/drop an image of equal or greater size on this media placeholder, and larger images will automatically scale within the image boundaries.
    No point complaining to us, or Apple about Pages v5. This is a user-to-user site, and Apple simply is not here.
    If you have an iWork '09 DVD, you can install it on Yosemite — immediately followed by the Apple iWork 9.3 updater — which brings last revisions of iWork '09 applications. The DVD contents alone will not run on Yosemite. Be certain to run Disk Utility to verify/repair permissions on your boot drive after the updater has run.
    Export your Pages v5 documents to Pages '09, and then move that /Applications/Pages.app (v5) into an arbitrary named folder, and then compress it. After you do that, double-clicking Pages '09 documents will open them in Pages '09. Otherwise, they will always open in Pages v5.

    I'm trying to use the merge documents function, but when I go to the Create Merged Document tab and select Multiple Record Layout, the dropdown menu can't be changed from Single Record.
    That evidently has to be changed in order to get Indesign to insert multiple instances of my ticket merged with data from a numbers source, as instructed . So I'm stuck.

  • Text Box in DOCUMENTS Tab when creating a Contract

    Hi
    I'm using SRM 5 , when creating a Contract(GOA), the minute you select the Documents Tab , the text box for internal note is already open, and it fills up the top portion of the screen. This does not allow you to save( or to put your contract either on hold, or to Release.) You cannot select any of those options as the text box covers the entire top area, the only option available is to click on "back to inital screen".
    When you select this option you loose all your work,and it takes you to the initial screen.
    I cannot find the note which has to be applied , please assist.

  • Customize Web-Client nterface (Documents tab)

    Hi - has anybody manage to customize the Primavera web-client interface to add custom screens.
    In particular, we would like to customize the 'Documents' tab and integrate Primavera with our content management system (EMC Documentum) to store and retrieve documents.
    I am unable to find any decent guide on how to actually modify Primavera user interface, if such a thing is possible/supported. There is plenty of information about using the SDK/WebServices for accessing Primavera project data, but we need to go the other way - access third-party system from within Primavera.
    I know we can use SharePoint or Oracle Content Management for this, but we need to use EMC Documentum.
    Any tips/useful info/ideas highly appreciated,

    You can't customize the interface, but you could use a custom portlet and point it to your existing document management system, or create your own site that does what you need.

    Dear Experts,
    In our test server the accounting entries are not showing when we are trying to check those through MIGO(display) or mb03 by clicking FI document tab.
    Although all are valuated entries, what could be the reason, message is coming "No subsequent document found in Accounting"
    Message no. RW011
    Diagnosis
    All documents generated in Financial Accounting for object type 'MKPF',
    reference document number '5000341600' and organizational unit '2010' should be displayed.
    System Response
    No accompanying documents were found in Financial Accounting
    through mb03 it is showing
    Material document 5000341600 does not include an accounting document
    Message no. M7082
    Diagnosis
    The system cannot find an accounting document for the material document 5000341600.
    Possible reasons for this are:
    The goods movement has no relevance to accounting. Therefore, the system did not generate an accounting document for the material document.
    The material document is a document that was posted before Release 2.1. Such documents must be converted so that the system can find the relevant accounting document.
    The procedure for the subsequent calculation of value is not active in your system. For further information, refer to the documentation on the program for valuating goods movements: RM07MWBU.
    Procedure
    Choose Continue and then choose another function.
    Find out when the material document was created. If the document was created prior to the Release changeover, ask your system administrator to carry out the conversion of the documents. The individual steps required for document conversion are described in the Release Notes for Release 2.1B.

    SPRO---PurchasingAccount assignment category- check the falg mark for related account assignment.
    Check Material type of material is that material is valued or not in OMS2.

    Hi expert
    In a report, I am reading path ,file type ,name from a text file from the presentation server. The file gives all the information related to the file uploaded on application server. File can be of any type like cfg ,doc txt, bmp .
    I have to read and link the file under document tab in BP code I am able to link but not able to open the file from the link another text format is giving dump error saying format not supporting.
    I am reading and linking in binary mode because i do not have another option as we can read the file in text and binary mode only.
    Please suggest any solution for this .

    HI,
      Just try it simply as below.
    the possible reasons could be.
    1) file with that name is not existing in that path
    2) path name is wrong (u gave it as c:/ give it as c:\)
    3) file may be open..
    how ever just try with giving the file path and the output table and see how it works

    Not quite sure if these BAPI's work for service orders in CRM (cause that is probably what you are looking for), but here is some code for retrieving documents for service orders (or business transaction in general):
    DATA : lr_crm_document           TYPE REF TO cl_crm_documents.
      Get header info object.

      Retrieve all documents linked to current business transaction.

    I wolud like to know in which business context the Document Tab Page used in creation of Product Master.
    I see that i can attach any Document at my wish.of formats .doc,.xls,.pdf etc.
    But why is it given.?
    If i am creating an IP(Intellectual Property say a Movie Title)
    what can i attach or upload ?what is the business requirement?

    Hi Arshad,
    Document Tab is nothing more then a Informaton storage Point of location.
    For Ex; Say a company for which you are Implementing Deals with Product like Boilers, Lights etc.
    IF there  are mtuliple of choices and infomation related to eachd evice they can store those information in document tab.
    Information like Pictures, Some Text Description message.
    Document tab over here is also the same as you have in Activity, Opportunity Transaction.
    And in that we call them as Long Text storage Areas, so same rule Implies for products Document Tab as well.

    I spent a bit of time looking at your interesting query, but am afraid I cannot find any solution to it.
    If you want to send the document via email, and therefore need the hyperlink, your best bet might be to send it as an HTML document. I don't know if you can achieve the transformation to an HTML document using traditional SAPScript though, but it is possible with Smartforms.

  • How to display TEXT description from Documents tab of Product master in ISA

    We have product related PDF document attached with Product.
    I can access in CRM by Going
    Products--> Maintain Products.
    When I chose specific Product I can see Product related details.
    There are many tabs like "General", "Material", "Sales and Distributions", "Documents",  etc...
    "Documents" tab have 2 folders "Pictures" and "TEXTS".
    under "TEXT" folder we have PDF documents.
    it has short product name like "ASP009" and Description "ASP 009 Manual".
    When I click on any one I can see attached PDF document in Preview window in CRM.
    How I can access text description "ASP 009 Manual" on "ProductDetailsB2C.JSP" file.
    I want to display this "ASP 009 Manual" description on "ProductDetailsB2C.JSP".
    Is there any Standard Java class method available in ISA.
    I really appreciate any help on this and assign points to them for solution.

    Here's the steps we use in our ProductDetailB2C.jsp (B2B uses same code in another file name I forget right now) to provide a link to our technical data sheets...this includes how to create a new document type in CRM as well as the code needed to display it on the ISA
    Step 1: Transaction OAC2, create Document Type example CRM_TECHDA
    Step 2: Transaction SPRO-> CRM -> Basic functions -> Content Management -> Define template for folders
    Step 3: Double click template PRODUCT_MATERIAL
    Step 4: Right-click Documents, Choose Create Folder
    (Make sure to input DOCUMENT TYPE(Properties TAB) = Step 1 value example CRM_TECHDA)
    Step 5: Add a new set of lines of code for each of the types of 'text' you have created to display as a link in the .jsp file(s), changing the CAPPED name to the appropriate name of your specific field below:

    I forgot to add, that you could add the attribute information Sateesh talks about where we just use "Technical Data Sheet"
    on the third line of the code...we don't bother with the name of the file as you're needing since we had too many people
    naming them and the overall consistency was horrible.

      This is a challenging task as an ABAPer to confront to..
      We are in the midst of a requirement where we have to add a custom field in the PO Header. But the requirement is to add the field in Documents Tab in PO Header Data as found in the following path of SRM Webpage  :
    Operational Purchaser > Purchase Orders > Process Purchase Order > Select a PO > Header Data > Documents.
      As guided by "Note 672960 - User-defined fields 2" , on executing all the steps of the note the field is getting added, but in the Basic Data Tab of the PO. But this doesnt meet the client requirement.
      Anybody having some solution to this, shall be greatly awarded.

    You can define a Text ID in Header data with F4 help. But the list of values will be fixed, but configurable. This will exactly solve your problem. This will be quite simple and straight forward solution with no custom developments.
    Please Navigate to
    SAP Implementation Guide -> Supplier Relationship Management -> SRM Server
    -> Cross-Application Basic Settings -> Text Schema
    1. Define Text Types
    Select BBP_PD and double click text id. Add a new text id here.
    2. Define Text Schema
    Select PO and add the newly created text id and set required parameters.
    3. Define Fixed Values for Texts
    Select your PO transaction type and maintain the required values for F4 help / drop down.
    Hope this would solve your problem.
