Creation of auto approval process for assigning role for a user in oim11g

currently i'm doing a scenario like a user must be automatically assigned to a role by using approval policy where the user is already there in oim and then we use csv file in that we take 2 columns like userlogin and role name so by running this scheduled task user must be automatically approved to that role.But i have to use the default auto approve policy in oim without creating any bpel process for that so can any one suggest me how to proceed with this scenario.

If I understand correctly, You have users and their respective roles in csv file. Users are present in OIM. You want to assign those roles in csv file to respective users?
If this is the scenario, you need to write a custom code for schedule task which will read data from your csv file, create roles and assign them to respective users.

    Hi,
    We assign roles to users in production only through CUP requests.. We use GRC 5.3
    Here we have a case where we need to assign one role to  60 users in production(each user may have different  roles assigned in the back end) . I can raise one CUP request for all users using " multi-user" option in Copy request . But when we want to make a risk analysis , it will not show risks at user level as each user had different roles and may get different risks by adding new role.
    Instead it will give risks if any for only that new role which want to assign. Our manager is not accepting as this is not giving complete picture of risks for each user when we add new role.
    Please suggest me if there is any other way where I can make a risk analysis for each user when I created a CUP request for multiple users.
    Or the only solution is to create 60 CUP requests ?? this would be too manual

    thanks for the reply, you are right as per the audit .But suppose if it is for 200 users ,creating 200 CUP requests will be impractical right.
    there should be some solution for this , because there will be many situations practically where we have to assign roles to N number of users.
    Is this possible in GRC 10 ? any idea ?

  • Auto approval process in workflow

    Hi,
    We are implementing customized workflow with approval/rejection process
    There should be a auto approval process when agent does not complete task within 3 days.
    When the approval is done then we are sending emails and performing some actions.
    When the auto approval happnes after 3 days we do not want the workflow to terminate but it should end.
    Kindly suggest if it is possible.

    Rahul,
    You can use a 'modeled deadline' to set the original workitem to obsolete after (say) 3 days.
    There is a wizard available to help you with this (in ECC 6.0).
    Then, on the obsolete outcome branch, you can add a new (background) step that approves
    the item automatically. (This is assuming you have an 'approval' method available for the object).

  • How to Assign Roles for maintaining possible agents?

    Hi all,
    I was trying to assign Roles to maintain agent assignment and I was not able to assign role to Task -> Additional data -> Agent Assignment -> Maintain -> Create agent assignment -> selected role but it's not displaying the roles available in the client.
    There is no org. structure in our client.
    So, What all settings do i need to make the roles display and select?  please let me know in detail if possible.

    I haven't created any org structure or any role and there are no org structures in our client.
    To get roles displayed on search do we need to create an org structure. I don't think so.
    Is any authorization required for a user or any settings need to be made to get roles displayed when searched for roles for assigning role in maintaining agent assignment for a task.
    i even checked with basis person with his id but it is the same problem.
    As far as i know these roles are basis roles only and there are number of roles in our client but its strange it doesn't display any roles( not even a single role when i searched with  ' * ').

    1.Is there any specific table to find out the assigned roles to my User ID?

    2. When I assigned Marketing Pro role to my user id in Organization Unit, I am not able to see in webui screen.
    when I click on webui transaction, it is displaying some selection screen, there it is not displaying the role I have assigned?

    Sol'n : You have so many Class Methods for finding your requirement else FM aslo.
    Go to SE84 there u will find search ClassMethods. There u type getuserRole or userRole* and press F8. Pick the one which you feel it may give you the result
    ie you have to execute the class...if it showing instance on the tool bar click on that then press execute the method which you feel relevant to you, and give input parameters.
    Sol'n for 1 point is: CL_CRM_UI_ROLE_ASSIGN->GET_BUSINESSROLES_FOR_USER.
    2. When I assigned Marketing Pro role to my user id in Organization Unit, I am not able to see in webui screen.
    Sol'n: Go and check in T-code : BP. Dispay Ur BP and check for Employee Meantaied -- Identification Tab..Did u maintained ur Userid over there or not

  • SECATT for assigning roles to users

    Hi All,
    How do we make the ECATT to work for the below scenario:
    Users already have roles assigned to them. We need to add a new roles to the users which can vary in number based on the users job.
    A simple ECATT script that was developed to add a single role to a new user does not work in the above case and gives an error of invalid batch input. How do I create a ECATT to assign role to user who already has a set of roles assigned (number of roles assigned to users differ, so I cannot assume to train the ECATT to assign a role on line X). Is there something I am missing while the ECATT script creation?
    We are doing this from a CUA and its very difficult to assume how many roles a user could have.

    Thanks Alex for the insight. For some reason SU10 is slow in the CUA environment and I wanted to avoid it but yes I finally had to use SU10. Talking to one of our ABAPer I came to know that even in their BDC recordings they get the error which I receeived, but he changes his program to skip all the lines with data and then fill the empty line.
    In CUA environment, how do we create ECATT to delete a role from many users?

  • Issue while changing validity date for assigned roles: SAP IDM 7.2 SP8

    Hello Experts
    I assigned the Task on repository for validity modification for Roles as in below screenshot:
    When I modify the role validity, Task defined for Validity modification doesnt get triggered and IDM executes the tasks defined as Modify Task and fails with below errors:
    1. Could not obtain repository name from Pending object.
    2. Error ! Audit id , Variable doesnt exist in MXPT_GET_ENTRYTYPE.
    I tried checking provisioning audit logs but could'nt find any Audit ID created for validity modification and I guess due to this tasks are getting cancelled.
    Why the task defined in Modify Valdity tasks doesnt get triggered when I modify the Role assignment validity ?
    Am I doing anything wrong with the SAP Standard way of working ?

    Hi Deepak/Chris,
    We are also facing a similar issue in our project where modifying validity of the role does not trigger any task. We then changed the Modify attribute(in task tab) on the priveleges to "inhereted".
    The modify task is now triggered and completes successfully. However, no changes occur in backend.
    We need unedrstand where do we maintain the setting to define which attributes(if changed) will trigger an event task in the provisioning framework. the "check attributes modification" task within the provisioning framework executes the below query:
    select COUNT(VarName) from mxpv_audit_variables where AuditID=%AUDITID% and VarValue='%MSKEY%' and VarName='MARK_EXEC_MODIFY_ATTR%MSKEY%'
    The query gives the result as "False" in case we only modify the validity of the role assigned to user. Thus no event tasks are executed for the same.
    Can anyone please share where do we define the attributes for this query to give "True" as result for role validity modification.

    i am creating users for each kind of users, say abap developer or FI/MM/SD function users, in IDES ECC 6. it doesnt make me any sense how to assign which roles to which user( there are more than 2000 sap standard roles). can anyone give me some guideline how to create each kind of users.

    I don't understand your question....
    When sap is implemented usually part of the project is creating roles based on a blueprint designed to adjust to your company needs...
    Basically Standard roles are there to be used as templates for your own roles.
    Users as "dialog users" do not have classification... the special access attributes are given by the roles assigned to it based on the project plan desing pre-installation.

    Thanks for your interest. I would be very happy to work with folks like you to slowly improve such roles as we find improvement possibilities for them, and all benefit from the joint knowledge and cool features which go into them. I have been filing away at a set of them for years now - they are not evil but still usefull and I give them to an auditor without being concerned as long as they can tell me approximately what they have been tasked to look into.
    I then also show them the corresponding user menu of my role for these tasks and then leave them alone for a while... 
    Anyway... SAP told me that if we host the content on SDN for the collaboration and documentation to the changes in the files, then version management of the files can be hosted externally for downloading them (actually, SAP does not have an option because their software does not support it...).
    I will rather host them on my own site and add the link in the SDN wiki and a sticky forum post link to it than use a generic download service, at least to start with. Via change management to the wiki, we can easily map this to version management of the files on a monthly periodic update cycle once there are enough changes to the wiki.
    How about "Update Tuesday" as a maintenance cycle --> config updates each second Tuesday of the month... to remove authorizations to access backdoors which are more than "just display"...

    We have developed a small application using CAF.The UI part is done using  <b>Webdynpro module which is a part of CAF project</b>. Now we have to apply Guided procedures to this application .
    I have followed steps in this link to create a process (My First Process), and got result.

    Actually we are not using NWDI . But we integrated all modules into one application manually.Is it possible to achieve the above mentioned goals ?

    step2 :For the purposes of the process that you create, define the same input parameters as the output parameters that you have defined for the data input form.

  • Assigning roles to LDAP users through BIP API

    Hi.
    My customer has BIP 11g and OIM 9.1.0.2 running on the same weblogic server (11g). Both authenticate against the same LDAP server.
    One of our desired next steps is to provision from OIM the BIP roles to each LDAP user so every user gets the correct roles (and access to the correct reports) according to the groups he has on OIM.
    I've been searching for info regarding this without success. The BIP API doc does not show any info about assigning roles to users.
    We don't need to manage LDAP users, BIP roles, etc... through OIM. We only need to assign BIP roles to LDAP users.
    Is it possible to make that assignments through BIP API?
    If not, any other ideas? New ideas or different approaches are welcome.

    In OBIEE 11g which includes BIP the application roles are applied to LDAP users and groups using the Enterprise Manager Fusion Control.
    During the upgrade process from OBIEE 10g to OBIEE 11g the groups do get assigned to these roles transparently so there must be some API to leverage this functionality.

    There are no specific instructions on accomplishing what you seek but if you have some WLST or Java Skills you should be able to get something prototyped.

    Writing above code in text document and importing then exporting in user administration.....
    Is there any approach to assign a role to 10000 users in one go.

    You can use the Import functionality of User Administration.
    Use Groups as principal.
    Example
    [group]
    gid=Z_GRP_HR_ESS
    gdesc=HR Group for Employee Self-Service
    user=DHANZ1;DHANZ2;.......
    Import utility times out for huge user base....so split 10000 in 2 batches...eg first load with 7000 users and second with 3000 users.
    Second run do it in overwrite mode
    Once the loads are complete you can manually assign the corresponding Roles to the Group. It is best practise to assign
    Users -> Group -> Role.
    Also you get a detailed log after import with errors -> You can fix that in your import file and run the utlity again.

    There is no such way to assign automatically basic role to all users. You can go for tool sugested by Alex.
    And also you can check one solution if this works for you  that we have used in Past and proposed by business. In that if the Basic role is like end user role and needed for all portal users.  Then you can create on Template users (Type dialog)  . Then you can create the new users by copying the template user.
