Sounds like something is wrong with your sound card instead of the speaker. perhaps you should test the speaker using other devices or sound card first.

• Creative Zen stone with speaker not recognized by Vista 32

My creative zen stone with speaker is not recognized by computer. Downloaded starter pack and it worked, but the first time i disconnected it and connected again, the device is not in "my computer". It is listed as working properly under "safely remove hardware". Uninstalled drivers, and connected again, driver was installed and I am told the device is ready to be used, but it is still no where to be seen, and update tools etc. also does not recognize connected device.
thank you

Try going into "Control Panel->Administrati've tools" and clicking on "Computer Management". Find "disk management" in the left pane and click it. Your Stone should be in the right somewhere. I think you need to right click, then "choose dri've letter and paths" and give it a dri've letter with the "add" button. Let us know if that works.

• Creative Players Quality, Relatively speaking

Pardon this post, but I have bought a bunch of mp3 players over the years (one iPod gen2, Rio, 4 Creative, 2 Sansa). I think I have a fair overall view of how things compare.
A forum such as this one tends to bring out nothing but problems with a player (on this board, naturally, problems with Creative players). This is to be expected, and of course is also used as a mutual-assistance troubleshooting area.
I tend to see a fair amount of product bashing of Creative players now and then. My experience, over several years and a bunch of players, has actually been pretty decent with Creative. Their software (currently Centrale), well, there's another story---but I don't use it and you don't have to, either.
Every player has their strong suit; Sansa integrates their SD card into the library (hey, YEARS ago my Rio S-0 did this, too!). iPod.....OK, can't think of a real positi've for the iPod except that it was "hip" at the time (should have been for $350.00!!!).
My Zen Touch (still limping along with bad HD sectors) sounds the best of any player I've used. My Zen Nano still works fine and has a AAA battery that will never go bad (put in a new one). My Zen 4GB is perfect, aside from that SD card library issue. I have a new Sansa Clip+ that sounds great, is tiny and convenient, but had such horrible battery life (just over 4 hours) that I sent it back (awaiting replacement).
Overall, we can complain to each other about the lack of a feature on a Creative player or whatever, but I have yet to find the one player that does everything, is cheap, has perfect support and software, works with all online services, etc.. Creative, I think, has come closest overall. Just my .02 if anybody is reading these boards and gets the idea Creative makes junk. All 4 of the Creative Zens I've bought over several years are still working. 2 of these are a Zen Touch and Zen Micro. I have Windows 7 on all my computers and they work with that, too, so they also remain compatible with modern software (I use WMP 2 to sync).

I'll second that. I agree that Creative's software (Media Explorer, MediaSource, Centrale) is generally pretty clunky, and tech support is not very satisfying. However, I have found the overall value of my Creative players to be quite good. I've had 5 so far:
. Rhomba 256 MB: The player that got me started with Creative. Nice compact unit, great sound, excellent FM radio. I've never understood why Apple never included a radio function on their iPods until very recently.
2. Zen Micro (can't remember HD capacity): Nice form factor. I really liked the touchpad interface--a good answer to the iPod's clickwheel. Had a problem with the headphone jack, but Creative fixed it without any hassle.
3. Zen V Plus 8 GB: Incredibly compact player that still has a decent screen. I think I've had it for almost 4 years, and haven't had a problem. My wife uses it now to listen to audiobooks or NPR while she jogs.
4. Zen Vision:M 30 GB: Buy.com sent a refurbished unit to me by accident instead of the $30 earphones I had ordered, and they weren't interested in correcting the mistake, so it just ended up being a great deal! This really is a terrific player, with amazing sound, a great display, and a very intuiti've and responsi've interface. At first, I thought the hard dri've was faulty because some tracks would skip, so I shelved the unit for a while. But then when I upgraded to Windows 7 and started from scratch with the player, I found that the skipping problem was gone. Not sure what the problem was--maybe something with Vista? Anyway, the only drawback for the ZVM is its lack of AAC support. Also, it would be so great if Creative or Cambridge Soundworks would start making their Playdock again--I would love to have a speaker dock for the ZVM, but they're all for the iPod these days. I know that Playdocks pop up on eBay occasionally, but they usually go for at least $200, and the bidding can be pretty fierce.
5. Zen 32 GB: My workhorse, and it seems to get better and better. Compared to other players on the market, I think it's still the smallest unit to boast 32 GB of storage. Once again, great sound, compact size, and nice interface. I love the AAC support, because I wanted to consolidate my music library into AAC files only (I'm ashamed to say that I just had to have an iPod, since my car has integrated iPod support), rather than have duplicate AAC and WMA files. Initially, I had problems with AAC files playing on the Zen (audio playback errors--see the Creative support page). But recently, that problem seems to have disappeared with Windows 7 and the new Centrale that was released for the Zen. So now my Zen is close to perfect, with the exception of the well-known SD card nonintegration.
I've been fortunate not to have to deal with any white or black screens of death. I've also found WMP2 support to be pretty seamless for the Zen V Plus, ZVM, and Zen (haven't tried the Rhomba or the Zen Micro). The only thing WMP2 can't do is manage a playlist on the unit, but I can use Centrale for the Zen and Media Explorer for the ZVM.

• Creative Inspire T5400 Center Speaker Problem

Hey Creative,
I use the Audigy Platimum Sound Card with Audigy drive with Inspire T5400 speakers. Ever since i got the speakers I have noticed either the center speaker plays so quiet its almost not hearable or it doesn't play at all. This happens for music alot. I checked all the hookups and I got the AudioHQ and Windows set for 5.1 surround speakers. What is the problem?
Thanx
Adam

Adamb10,
You will need to enable CMSS though Playcenter for the Audigy. Launch playcenter and put it in player mode (not jukebox mode) on the right hand side there is a button that expands out the player to display a number pad. At the bottom of the numbers there is a button marked CMSS, set it to on or movie mode and it should give you what you want.

• Creative I-Trigue L3450 Speaker System

Hi.
I am interested in the above product but was just wondeirng if anybody could answer some questions for me.
Is it possible to plug a USB MP3 player into the controller of this system and have the music played? The following link seems to suggest that a USB MP3 player can be plugged in:
http://www.boysstuff.co.uk/product.a...id=&src=Search (st picture)
Can Anybody confirm this?
Also, must this system be connected to a PC or can it simple be plugged into the mains and have MP3 players etc run off it's
Any help would be brilliant!
Thanks!

badboyuk,
The USB port on the volume control is what we call a M-PORT. Basically, it does what you mention by it's only compatible with M-PORT compatible player and as far as I know, only the Creative MuVo NX is supported. The speaker doesn't need to be connected to the computer only. You can connect to any audio source that's using a 3.5mm stereo minijack output.
You can also download the user guide for this speaker from the Product Documentation page for more information regarding the speaker system.

• SB Live! 5.1 Digital card and Creative Cambridge Soundworks 200 Speak

I have a SB Li've! 5. Digital card and a set of Creative Cambridge Soundworks 200 Speakers. The speakers consist of 4 satelites and sub woofer. My audio has been working flawlessly for several years until this weekend when I decided to reformat my dri've and re-install Windows XP Pro. I downloaded the dell drivers (card is from dell) and installed them and then installed the updates for them from this web site. The problem I'm having (before and after applying the upfate) is that only two of the satelites emit sound! Furthermore when I run the creative diagnostic test app (all tests pass) and run the "Test Speakers", the rear left spkr is identified properly; and the right front spkr is identified as rear right and no speakers are identified as front.
My physical h/w configuration has not been touched during the re-install of windows.
Any suggestions for getting my audio system working properly again?
Thanks,
Phil

I just opened my system and looked at the card. It has the following identification on it:
. SB Li've!
2. Model SB0200
3. Serial Number: MSB020032052655
So perhaps it is not an SB Li've 5. Digital as I previously thought; regardless I'm still having the same problems. When I downloaded and tried to install the SBLi've! drivers indicated from http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?MainCategory=&sOSName=Windows+XP&regi on=&Product_Name=Li've%2&Product_ID=4857&model number=&driverlang=033&OS=0&drivertype=0&x=24&y=5
I received an error message that no soundblaster card could be found.
When I searched for drivers by model (sb0200), the website said said, "no such drivers".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

• Conecting Creative Jukebox to a Speaker System

Hi! What I want to achieve is to listen to music from my Jukebox mp3 player on a 5.1 or 7.1 speaker system and listen to it through all the speakers. Is this possible to do without a computer? Can the speaker system upmix the stereo line-in input to a 5.1 or 7.1 sound through the speakers?
I'd appreciate any ideas or experiences if anyone has tried to do this and has either succeeded or failed.
Thanks for your help!!!!

No, you won't be able to listen to all the speakers with a combination like that one. The outputs on our Jukeboxes are only stereo. If you have the Jukebox 3, it has 2 outputs, which would give you 4 speaker sound, but that's the most you'll get.
I would advise using stereo speakers, or if you really want more sound, to get a DDTS-100 decoder. The decoder can upmix sound to more speakers, so even if the source is only stereo (2 channel).

• Inspire 6.1 6700 speaker hum

Got this system a few weeks ago for my PC, and they worked fine up till the other morning when I switched on to be greeted by a very loud hum from all 7 speakers. All worked fine when computer was on the night before.
Have tried disconnecting all satellite speakers and audio leads from main bass unit, but hum is still the same.
Have looked at circuit boards on the volume control and in the main bass unit, and there are no obvious signs of part failure or loose wiring.
Power supply is a sealed unit, so I can not take a look inside. However voltage output is 6v~ instead of the 3.5v~ specified on the power supply.
My guess is the power supply is knackered.
Can anyone out there confirm my suspicion or suggest an alternative reason.
Also, if I need a new power supply can anyone suggest where I could get one and for how much. I live in the UK.
I hope someone can help please....

That might be a good idea beacause your onboardchip doesn't really support surrounssound. For DVD-Videos etc. it must support Dolby or DTS sound and most Games need EAX. Unfortunately AFAIK only Creative Soundblaster support EAX above version 2. The cheapest way would be a Sound Blaster Live! 24-Bit, if you want EAX 4 it should be an Audigy 2 ZS, which isn't much more expensive if you chose the bulk-version. If you want the newest technique it would be an X-Fi extreme Musik that costs almost twice as much as the Audigy.

• Creative Labs Inspire 6700 6.1

Hi
I am looking for intructions for setting up all the speakers in the different modes. I did have a drawing but I have totally missplaced it. Is there anyone here that assist me? Thanks Leon

Hi Jason
I looked on the site you mentioned. I can only find the 5.1 or the 7.1 Nothing in between like the 6.1 I have. This one I have6 speakers and a woofer. At the back there is a switch that will throw the speaker into a 5.1 or 6.1 mode. Besides the power cable and the audio control there are there other sockets. One black , green and yellow. There are two centers holes and six others one. As I recalled when I first bought the speaker system certain speaker cables went into different holes depending on what mode I wanted to play, 5.1 or 6.1. I am finding it very different to connect the correct speaker cable to the correct holes. I know the hole are marks but that doesn't help especially when I want all the speakers to works together. I seem a speaker system like mine for sale on Ebay. I have even written the speaker to see if I could get help from him. I really would appreciate any recommendations you offer.
Thanks
Leon
