Creative Zen M Video A Few Questi

Is the zen M vision going to be able to display album art? Also is it going to be available as a 60gb version like apples 5g ipods?
Many thanks.

Yes, it supports album art, no 60GB version I've seen talked about anywhere so far.

Hi since one year a have this famous player, but now i have a few questions. Is there a chance to connect the player with a PC just like an usb-stick? without installing any Software?
Sometime my Plyer restarts by it's own. But the Mp3's I played as this time will be played normel after a restart. What i found out is, when i have plastic in the same pocket there restarts accumulate.
    Any Ideas?

If you want to connect it to USB "like a memory stick" and drag songs over like it was a dri've, the Plays for Sure firmware upgrade will get you that.

When i play back relati'vely long videos (around 30 minutes or more) on my new Creative ZEN 4gb? the audio part of the video i'm watching becomes out of sync with the video after 5 minutes or so, hence the words that characters say don't match up w/ their li
    ps.
get the picture? it is REALLY annoying and i've tried firmware .20 and it didn't help, i've also reverted to .0, same problem. is it just my player or is this a common occurance and what can i do to fix it's thanks a bunch. and don't get me wrong, i think that despite the bugs the new ZEN is a good player.

hmm... come to think of it, that makes total sense. that could also be why the screens lag a bit when i'm listening to music and browsing my system settings as fast as i can. i'll try encoding my videos at a lower bitrate tomorrow, have any good setup in mind? (i.e. xxxKbps format-.xxx audio xxxKbps format-.xxx) also, i would think that a high bitrate (high enough to slow the player down) would produce visual slowness in the videos, and thus i could tell if that was the problem or not. but i haven't noticed visual slowness so does it work some other way or is it just so subtle that it takes a while to notice the video losing sync with the audio?

  • Creative Zen (the video thing)

Hi, I have a 8gb Creative Zen, BUT I can't put any music on it at all.. I'm on my Macbook, but the Mac just can't seem to find the player.. I'm having a hard time finding it on the Windows computer as well.. and the Cd that came with it works for **bleep**.. so have no idea really.. help please ..

Bb While I've not tried .srt subtitle files, the only videos I've managed to get it to play are DivX or XviD in AVI containers - unfortunately AVI doesn't allow for subtitles to be built in unlike Matroska or Ogg Media. For that reason I tend to go for hardsubbed (part of the picture) fansubs where possible as I watch most of my anime on my Zen.

  • Creative ZEN audio video problem.

    !C. Hello Everyone,
I've got a SDHC card 8GB in my ZEN and I converted some family guy videos which are perfect if I play them on the computer.
I have put all the episodes of family guy on my ZEN and when I played it, it just played but the longer it plays the more the video stays behind on the audio. But when I play the SAME episodes which I put on my ZEN, on the computer it just works fine...

That sounds like a software conversion problem. Try using this program http://forums.creative.com/creativel...thread.id=2983? to encode the video & then? load it on the card. I've used it & it works really good, fast & no playback issues. It also has a preset for the Zen

  • 4gig Creative Zen V Charging and Shuffle Quest

I believe the continous playback time on a fully charged battery is advertised at 2-5 hrs, is this correct? With my player charging all night, and my notebook set up to NOT HIBERNATE, the indicator shows a fully charged battery. However, I'm lucky to get 6-7 hrs continous playback. That isn't skipping tracks or searching for specific music, just shuffle/repeat. Any ideas? Also, when set to shuffle sometimes I'll hear the same some 2 or 3 times in an hour. At last glance, there were 936 songs on my player, it seems like I should go days before hearing the same songs. Also, my player "crashed" a few months ago, thankfully, and in large part to this forum I finally got tne firmware updated so it's working again, just thought that might be pertinent if anyone was going to suggest updating the firmware. Any advice would be appreciated. B.

    Stan,
Looks like it's .wav format and FYI it's 4K bytes per second of recording. Held it up to my stereo and the sound quality is probably what you'd expect for such a mic - bit muddy but tolerable and sensiti've to exactly where you put the mic.
I'm guessing you could find a .wav to mp3 convert utility on the web but I haven't looked. Mmmm maybe I have a long time ago - search on CNET.com
    Hope this helps,
    Tivo

  • Creative Zen Micro's Removable Disk Quest

If I were to disconnect my wire when it tells me not to disconnect, will that cause problems in the future? I did it a few times at school and the computers won't allow to safely remove hardware. It seems to work fine, but are there side effects to this?

It shouldn't do any harm unless you break the connection while the player is the middle of a data transfer. If your school computers don't have an option to eject or safely remove hardware, another option might be to switch the player off before disconnecting the player.

  • Creative zen SD c

with the creative zen can video files be played directly off the sd card or do they need copying to the mp3 players memory (which is the case with the Zen:Vision W player) obviously the video files would need to be in a compatible format

I use a Transend 4gb SDHC card in my Zen 6gb, OK, it's not really big enough but I was unsure if it would work in the Zen and it was very cheap (?8), it works beautifully. I have concert DVD's stored on it at the moment( I don't want to store movies on the Zen's memory) with no problem with fast forward or rewind, but my biggest nag is having no preview whilst FF or RW, is this normal?Message Edited by bigred on 02-02-200807:50 PM

  • How to save video to play on Creative Zen Vision M

My (PC using) friend just bought a Creative Zen Vision M (the competitor to the video iPod). It will play MPEG1, 2, and 4SP and will play MPEG's created in an older version of iMovie (I forget which, it's been a few years). For some reason, the MPEG4 version created by iMovie HD6 is not compatible with the Zen player.
Does anyone have any ideas of how to export from iMovie HD 6 in a format that can be used by the Creative Zen Vision M?
    Thanks.

    >Hi,
Sorry about your ZEN Vision:M. From what you mentioned, I don't think the data is recoverable under normal means. You probably might want to take it to a technician? or someone who is familar with electronics to see if they can remove the harddisk from the ZEN Vision:M and recover the data.

  • Creative Zen 8 gig - How do I play all videos at one time and skip to next vid

I was able to do this with the Creative Zen V plus 2 gig, why can't I with the large and more expensi've one?
    THanks,
    John

I have the same question as the original poster.
I am loading the zen with music video files only (wma) and would like to have the same playback options as mp3s.
I understand video file dont have "tags" like mp3s used to facilitate searcing for tracks eg. artist, album etc and i wonder if this could be a problem.
The question is...How do i get the player to play a list (or folder contents)) of video files either randomely or consecuti'vely without having to do it manualy for each and every video ie set up a playlist. Or is this not possible
    Thanks

  • Creative Zen - video converter issues

I've been trying to convert AVIs and MKVs to view on my Creative Zen and keep running into a problem.
No matter what settings I seem to use on any video converter, my player refuses to play the resulting WMV.
I am encoding to as close as possible to the required specifications, making sure no bitrate, frame rate, or resolution is too high for the player, but nothing seems to want to play.
Exactly what settings are required to convert a file to work on a Creative Zen?
I know the Creative Video Converter works, but the time taken to convert each file is far too long.

    Hi there:
    No worries!
Here I would like to offer you my opinions.
First, we should have a basic information of Creative Zen. In terms of its formats supported, it generally supports AVI, WMV, MPG, MPEG-, MPEG-2 and MP4. But there are still some users feeback that it can not perfectly accept AVI. Okay, based on my own experience using video converters, I am sure that Moyea Video Converter got via Google can definitely help solve the problem.
Step one: free download Moyea Video Converter and install it.
Step two: load AVI and MKV files to this program, select output format as "Creative Zen-Zen Player Video (.*WMV)" from pull-down menu of Format, and then locate the destination folder.
Step three:expand "Settings" button to enter the Profile section, in which you can easily modify resolution, Codec, size, sample rate, channels, and audio streams. (If you just want keep the original settings, you can skip this Step and directly continue Step four.)
Step four:click "Convert" button on the main interface to begin with the conversion.
Step four: Once the conversion above is completed, you can drag or put the converted files to ur Creative Zen or other portable devices for playback or entertainment.
By the way, Moyea Video Converter is much easier and faster to operate. Moreover, it applies Dolby TrueHD audio technology, which can enhance the output audio effects.

  • Video Conversion - Creative Zen

Hi all, hope you doing great.
I own the new creative zen 8GB...great player...so far no problems.
I want to ask the following...
    1. At what bitrate you think a movie would look nice on zen if it is ripped by a dvd ripper (not the video converter provided by creative); Is it ok if it is at 52kbs/sec;
    2. Constant bitrate encoding or variable bitrate encoding?
    3. To go for a large avi file, or smaller size with not that good quality?
    4. What ripper do you suggest? I've tried **ILLEGAL SOFTWARE**...Any suggestions?
The first lets you crop or zoom videos and that's especially helpful if a movie is on letterbox
format. From the other hand **** i think has a better picture quality result but no option for zooming.
    So people...
Message Edited by Dale-CL on 0-5-2008 :8 AM

Using the constant bitrate conversion through creative's converter I can get 2 hours of audio/video down to about 300 Mb. That works out to around 50 to 200 Kbit/s. Looks and sounds fine to me. I wouldn't go too much lower though. I've tried other converters as an alternati've to Creative's and gotten about the same quality at the same bitrate and not too much faster conversion speed.
