Creative Zen V resume play is

I got a Zen V a couple of days ago. One problem I?m having is that resume does not work right.ScenarioI?m playing an audio bookI pausePlayer will auto shot down after a whileI turn played back on it starts playing form the beginning of the book.PS: I know that I can book mark it but it is not the point. Simply shutting the played down while playing will auto resume the play in the right place.PPS: Bookmarks do not work for play list as well?Any one has any idea or resolution to this issue. Thank you

that is exactly what happened to me when i got new headphones for my zen v... look- it's all out of your hands... the screen will keep getting dimmer and dimmer until you cant see anything... you're only hope is if the mp3 is less than 90 days old... if so then you can mail it in to creative labs like i did and have the screen replaced for free, or pay i think a 25$ fee to get it fixed with them... hope it hel

  • Getting My Creative Zen Micro to play on my P.

    Hello,
I have a few questions about getting my Zen Micro to play in the 'Creative Source Organizer' that I installed with the software CD that came with it.
It playes fine in the 'Media Explorer', in which I use to upload and delete songs from my player, but it won't play at all in the 'Organizer'. The files show up, and the songs show they are playing, but no music comes from the speakers. I would rather use the organizer to play songs from my Zen Micro, and not the 'Media Explorer'. Is there anything I can do to get this to work? Every other file I try, be it a CD or MP3 from my hard dri've, works fine.
I am using Windows 98 as my operating system. I do hope this is not the reason why, but it is my guess that it is.
Thanks in advance to those who can help.

  • Need Help With My 40G Creative Zen Touch Mp3 Play

Got this beautiful mp3 player for a steal at only $95 dlvd!
Works great, only problem is I just installed the software and when I run the Organizer thing, it doesnt detect any mp3s. So when I go into my folders containing mp3's they dont show up. I tried to associate formats using the File Options in the settings menu but there are no file types listed to associate! Im confused at what to do.
Also when the program software was installing I kept getting error messages relating to the registration of certain parts of the program, it still installed complete but gave me a error message to report to Creative. Everything works fine so far though?
Can anyone help me out here or recognize the problem?

Your installation did not complete successfully.
<FONT face=Helv size=2> Here is what you should do:
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site. Make sure that you install this first before installing the rest of the MediaSource plugins listed below.
    - (Depending on your product and firmware)
For non-PlaysForSure Zen series: Download and install the latest Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.20 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.
    or:
For PlaysForSure Zen Touch: Download and install the Creative Software Suite for PlaysForSure-enabled Creative Zen Touch Players.
    - If it is listed for your product: Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for CD Burner 3.0.8 from your product download site.
Hi thanks for the help, Im not sure if my ins the Plays for sure model or not? Its the Creative Zen Touch 40 GB. I bought it without a manual so im not positi've how to check the details. It came with a software installation CD, that is what I used for the software. So does this mean I just need to download the plugins you listed? Is that what is affecting the Organizer in the fact that it doesnt display mp3s?

  • Possible new Creative Zen 40GB MP3 play

Hi there, does anybody know if there would be a new Creative Zen 40GB MP3 player due out soon? Here in Malaysia, the new Creative Zen 20GB MP3 player has replaced the Zen Touch 20GB player, and only the Zen Touch 40GB player is still available. Been wondering if I should wait for a new Creative Zen 40GB player instead of getting the Zen Touch 40GB player now. The Creative Zen has better specs then the Zen Touch except for the battery life which is only rated for hours. A big let down from the previous 24 hours battery life of the Zen Touch. Now, it would be just perfect if the new possible Zen 40GB player had the improved specs together with the 24 hours battery.

Most probably, you know how Creative is making a Zen Photo or something, does that reminds you of the iPod Photo You'll just have to wait though, currently I'm just happy with my 5 Gig, it has more than enough space

  • Date of "Battery Birth" of Creative Zen Flash MP3 playe

Date of Battery Birth of Creative Zen Flash MP3 players.
Your Zen Lithium_Ion Polymer Battery lifespan is ~ 2-3 years OR the number of discharges/charges cycles -
approximately ~ 300-500 cycles max. Whichever comes first will degrade the charging capacity of the
Lithium-Ion Polymer Battery. Keep in mind, the Lithium-Ion life span begins "aging" from the time of
    manufacturing of the battery!
Translation: If you bought a Creative Zen from Walmart,Target, Circuit City or Radio Shack, your battery
lifespan begins when the battery was manufactured by SK Mobile Energy (You don't know the manufacturing
date). If it was on the Walmart shelf for 2 years (You don't know this) Then, by the time you bought the Zen MP3
player your battery "shelf life" and battery charging capacity is gone!?
It would be very "consumer friendly" if Creative would show on the LCD display under the system/information
screen the EXACT birth/manufacture date of the Lithium-Ion battery and the number of discharges/charges
(300-500 max?) the battery has been through. After all, Creative manufactures the Zen and solders
in the "non-user replaceable battery" and they know the exact date of when the battery was manufactured. By
doing this, this would prevent "shady vendors" or third parties from "pulling the wool" over unsuspecting
consumers eyes. A firmware change would be in order.
Also, they should put a 0-00% battery capacity in numerical numbers near the battery symbol.
Keep in mind, the battery discharge rate and battery symbol is non-linear.
If Creative doesn't want to do this firmware change maybe they should do the following:
Have just only a Lithium-Ion Polymer battery warranty (not just the player warranty)? to protect the end users from too long shelf life of a battery.
    Ref. Links
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_ion_battery
    http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_th...ithium_battery
A unique drawback of the Li-ion battery is that its life span is dependent upon aging from time of
manufacturing (shelf life) regardless of whether it was charged, and not just on the number of
charge/discharge cycles. So an older battery will not last as long as a new battery due solely to its age, unlike
other batteries. This drawback is not widely published.[3]
    DRM? DVD Copy? Music Copying.

I don't know the internal workings of the Zen Lithium-ion charging circuit but you should be able to use your
Zen player just like a laptop plugged into the wall.
Once the charging circuit sees a certain charge voltage on the battery it should shut down or go to a float mode.
    (added this)?
Allow the battery to completely discharge from time-to-time then recharge it fully.
    From the link:
    http://www.omnica.com/omniview_electronics2.htm
Regarding lithium-ion shelf life, one of our engineers recently met with a battery-house representati've. It has come to their attention that repeated charging and re-charging of a less than fully discharged Li-ion cell affects the battery "gas gauge" included with many devices. Over a number of cycles there is a resultant loss in accuracy. Frequently, the indicated remaining charge has little relationship to the actual amount of life left in the cell! Fortunately, according to the battery expert, the gauge will reset itself if the battery is allowed to completely discharge from time-to-time.

  • Keep the "juice" always flowing in your Creative Zen MP3 flash play

The only charging method Creative supplied with your Zen is the short USB cable
to charge it when there is a PC USB port around.
Note: Creative sells car/auto & AC wall mount chargers and (international) travel chargers.
How to always keep the "juice" or Zen battery charged under these conditions?
#1. Camping, hiking or outdoor travel - no PC or no? AC or maybe no auto/car.
#2. Airplane travel - no pc or no AC or no auto/car.
    #3. Train/subway travel - no pc or no auto/car
#4. Car travel - no PC or no AC
#5. Foot travel - no PC or no AC or no auto/car
You could buy separate charging devices BUT when you total up the final bill
for all the devices you will be totally shocked at the cost plus the hassle of carrying all the
    modules and cords around.
I found, the other day, a perfect solution in a "all in one compact device"
from "Earhugger Powerpod" There are several models but the one you
want is the (white) "EARHUGGER IPOD POWER POD - MP3-8370"
If it is good enough for the "fruit company" then it is good enough for Creative.
Do not pay over $27 (including shipping) (retail $40) or you will be paying too much.
Keep searching the web for the best price. Make sure its sealed in plastic security wrap.
What is the "EARHUGGER IPOD POWER POD - MP3-8370" (white)?
Charge your player, in your case, a Zen ( Not Ipod)? in your car's 2v cigarette lighter,
at home via wall outlet, via USB on your computer, or a 9 Volt Battery with this handy charger!
Note: A standard alkaline battery has ~ 544 ma and the Zen has an internal 550 mAh. Lithium-Ion polymer
battery, so it would take several alkaline batteries to charge up the Zen battery. You could also use
the more expensive Lithium 9 vdc @ ~ 200 mAh.
Note: This unit is NOT for international use!
Warning note: I inspected the model at Brookstone for the specs. but I have NOT purchased or tried one because
I am waiting for the price to drop even more on the Internet.
    Cheers.

As for losing the current track location, I really don't know but I don't think it is extremely critical is it's
I think by plugging in the charging cable it resets/reboots the player which loses the current track?
It may not be a big deal for people who only listen to music on their MP3 players, but it's "extremely critical" to people who listen to talk shows, Podcasts or audio books. Think about it, you're 2 hours into a 4-hour audio book and you're running low on juice. So you charge it and then your place is completely lost! And since the Zen Stone Plus doesn't accelerate when scanning forward, it take minutes to get back to your previous position. Very frustrating!
Even my cheap Muvo FM TX remembers its current position between battery changes or adding new files. As long as I don't?delete the current file (obviously), it will return the the exact location it was at when I last turned it off.

  • Problems with Creative Zen Touch MP3 Play

My MP3 player won't load up at all when trying to load it up by using the power button. the?only thing is it only appears with the welcome display when i put my charger on but it doesn't display anything else.
Also pressing the reset button doesn't work. any system reset methods haven't seemed to have worked.
Anyone got any suggestions that may help me

Put your ear up to the player when it is trying to boot up and see if you hear a clicking sound or a sound similar to a disk dri've going into retries. Your disk dri've may have crashed.

  • Can new Creative Zen play WMA with D

Can new Creative Zen play WMA with DRM? (Digital rights management) Because half of my library is purchased from MSN Music and if Creative Zen can't play that, I have to look for something else.

I'm not that unsure. And of course I beli've that you and the mods have right and it would be very strange if it did not play DRM. But I think Creative could have writen that it play WMA with DRM in the product specification. Now that I know that it can play my songs I'm gonna buy the Zen very soon:smileyvery-happy: thanks for all your help!Message Edited by Norwegian25 on 09-27-200709:46 PM

3)can anyone suggest any completey safe music stores i can use to get my music.(last time i downloded a music place to get my music from called share it almost destoyed my comp.
    4) if not would i be able to burn my songs from itunes and use the c.d. to put them on my creative?
thank you so much i'v looked all over the internet and i could't hide any answers.

. There are MANY transmitters out there. I recommend searching back for past threads with recommendations.
    2. Yes, if they are in a suitable format.
    3. I already gave you a link in a previous question to a thread all about this. Please don't post duplicate questions.
    4. With iTunes you either need to burn the tracks to a CDRW, then convert to MP3/WMA, or use a program like JHymn to convert (Google JHymn).

  • Creative Zen 8 gig - How do I play all videos at one time and skip to next vid

I was able to do this with the Creative Zen V plus 2 gig, why can't I with the large and more expensi've one?
    THanks,
    John

I have the same question as the original poster.
I am loading the zen with music video files only (wma) and would like to have the same playback options as mp3s.
I understand video file dont have "tags" like mp3s used to facilitate searcing for tracks eg. artist, album etc and i wonder if this could be a problem.
The question is...How do i get the player to play a list (or folder contents)) of video files either randomely or consecuti'vely without having to do it manualy for each and every video ie set up a playlist. Or is this not possible
    Thanks

  • Creative Zen with keys that don't play well.

,Creative Zen with keys that don't play well.uHello all,
I have had a Creative Zen 6 GB for a couple of years. It is has not been a pretty picture. This product has been the most problematic mp3 player I have ever owned...but it has usually played music and I have been able to navigate the menus. A couple of months ago, the keys started to not respond very well. It almost seems like they are stiff and when I press them (not all, but most), they just don't do what they once did. If i keep on? mashing on the keys, eventually I can get it into working order enough to use, but what a royal pain this has been. I don't know if I should continue messing with it if there is physical damage, which it feels like. However, I have not used it that much and don't know what may have caused this, other than bouncing around in a gym bag.
Anyone have any thoughts before it goes to the scrap heap?

. It is physical damage & they just wear out. They wear out faster when they are pushed very hard. The control pad can be replaced. You can DYI or send to someone to repair. DYI? repair services

  • Creative Zen Sleek and the Now Playing-part of the firmw

    Hi,
this week I got my Creative Zen Sleek. I'm very satisfied, except for one thing - the Now Playing-part of the firmware (the list with all the songs queued up). In the old Nomad Jukebox Zen firmware, the list was divided by artist or album name. On the Zen Sleek, however, the list is just going on without even showing which songs belonging to which album etc.
This is really annoying me - would it be possible to fix this, or at least consider the possibility for this to be integrated in the next firmware upgrade?
    Sincerely
    Hein Haraldson Berg

& Putting the X-Fi into Recovery Mode and selecting clean up seemed to fix the problem, but it does still come up randomly.
The clean up puts the player menus back to their defaults though... any chance that in a future fix for the player, this wouldn't occur?

  • How to save video to play on Creative Zen Vision M

My (PC using) friend just bought a Creative Zen Vision M (the competitor to the video iPod). It will play MPEG1, 2, and 4SP and will play MPEG's created in an older version of iMovie (I forget which, it's been a few years). For some reason, the MPEG4 version created by iMovie HD6 is not compatible with the Zen player.
Does anyone have any ideas of how to export from iMovie HD 6 in a format that can be used by the Creative Zen Vision M?
    Thanks.

    >Hi,
Sorry about your ZEN Vision:M. From what you mentioned, I don't think the data is recoverable under normal means. You probably might want to take it to a technician? or someone who is familar with electronics to see if they can remove the harddisk from the ZEN Vision:M and recover the data.
