Creep problem - Phaser 7800 Booklet

Greetings,
We got a new Phaser 7800 with the finisher in school and we're having one nagging issue with it. When we try to do booklet printing, if we leave it up to the driver, it seems to insist on putting a creep which separates contiguous spreads with an obnoxious bit of white space. Here's what we've tried:
1. Print Booklet from InDesign - On our old HP 4600, this feature worked just as advertised. It printed both sides, snugged the spreads together properly and had the desired page order. The old beast just doesn't have great color quality. On the Phaser, it wantonly omits pages. On an 8 page document, facing pages with the covers on "orphaned" pages top and bottom, it will only print pages 5-8.
2. Print from InDesign and use Phasers driver for booklet settings - We can coax out a full booklet but it seems to randomly choose portrait or landscape. Usually we end up with a fully printed but micro-booklet that's half the desired page size.
3. Export to PDF and use Adobe Booklet settings - Here's where the creep "creeps" in. The driver only permits a value as low as 0 (so no negative creeping) and negative creeping in Acrobat didn't work at all. We do get all the pages in order, but we end up with the blank white bar in the center of what should be a contiguous spread.
4. Export to PDF and use Phaser's driver - Pretty much the same as above but with the occasional random flipping about of pages, missing pages and the creepy creep line.
We've tried using both the regular and postscript drivers (the latter being necessary to adjust creep manually).
I know the Phaser is a pretty popular printer so I'm hoping some of you InDesign afficianados use it to do real booket printing without having to do a bunch of page and spread gymnastics.
We've got CS6 Adobe products and Acrobat Pro X (though on a whim I did try the print from Reader with no success).
The trees we are wasting printing test booklets thank you in advance for your insight.

I'm not in the room (or in the same city) with the printer at the moment so I can't continue my test prints. But it is a thing I will investigate.
I do notice that if I use Print Booklet and choose, in the Print Settings, the Adobe PDF as the printer, I do get a pdf that has all the pages in the proper booklet order and, at least on my screen, I see no creep weirdness.
I have done test prints both with the standard driver and the PS driver for the Phaser. I usually use the PS driver, but I did try the regular one just to rule out any differences. I saw no marked change in the printed results.
We have not yet contacted Xerox. I figured I'd post here first because I'd be much more likely to find an InDesign user with a Phaser and I've gotten prompt and thoughtful help here in the past.

  • Problem when printing booklets prints pages 1,2 and 11 as if I wants to print all

I am using XP and 2000 MS word
I am having a problem when printing booklets from time to time. I get it ready to print in booklet form with 12 pages and my printer gives me the options. “Print all”  “current page”  “selection” or “pages”  Because it is booklet I want to print the first 4 pages to be folded and glued as a small book. When I inter 1-4 as the example shows some times it prints OK but about a week later it prints pages 1,2 and 11 as if it wants to print all. I thought it was the printer but think it could be in some setting of the word program or my computer it self.

Also does this (i.e. prints web pages over several pages despite changing settings) on my laptop at work with an HP printer. This started when I upgraded to Firefox 9.0.1.

  • Xerox Phaser 7800 Printer Status issue

I have a Xerox Phaser 7800 printer printing to a Windows 2008 Server R2 print server. While printing to the server the Xerox printer setup will continue to insert print jobs into the queue that say "Printer Status".  The "Printer Status", print jobs can be deleted without effecting the final printing. They will also timeout if you just leave them in the queue. From what we can tell, these "Printer Status" jobs are asking for status info before sending the print job (is paper loaded, toner leverls OK, etc...) Why they need this info... I don't know. When the Xerox printer setup is printing directly to the printer, the printer responds approperiatley and everything is fine.
Since we operate in a public printing environement (University) we need to be able to control access to the printer via a printer server.
Xerox's official stance on this is that they do not support printing from Mac OS X to a Windows print server. It is an unsupported configuration. This seems to be a commone stance for printier manufactures. We have a Ricoh printer with similar issues.
On the Ricoh printer we were able to locate the section of the PPD code that makes the similar request of printer status and comment out those lines so the request is no longer sent.  I'm having a little more trouble with the Xerox PPD in locating the lines of code to comment out.
If anyone has experience editing PPDs you help would be greatly appreciated!
If anyone has influence at Xerox, help them understand their mistake and to at the very least change the PPD to allow the "Printer Status" requests to be suppressed as part of the printer setup.

Same issue here with Adobe Reader XI 11.0.06. It will NOT collate whatsoever, regardless of the settings on the Print Dialog or the Printer Properties. It works with all other apps. Using HP Postscript drivers that come with Windows 7 SP1.

  • Image quality problem when Printing Booklet to PDF

    Hi!
I've searched the entire web trying to find a working solution for my problem but I wasn't able to find anything...
I've created a A5 vertical page document in InDesign CS6, filled with High-Quality photographs. I now want to print it as a booklet (to a PDF file) so I can save it and print it in a professional establishment.
The problem is, when I do this, the image quality turns out terrible...
I've checked my Print Settings and I can't find anything wrong...
Setup - A4 horizontally, and Graphics - Images - Send Data - is set to All.
Is there anything else I can do/try? What can I be doing wrong?
Here is an image of my print settings:
When I export the document normally to PDF the image quality is fine, but it doesn't have the booklet layout which I need, it just exports single A5 pages one after the other. If I try to print this pdf as a booklet in Adobe Reader the same thing happens to the images, they loose quality.
    Please help!!
    Thanks : )

Hi! Thank you for your quick and helpful answer.
There's definetly something wrong with the PDF printer properties... It was on standard default, as you said... but it still didn't work when I changed it to press quality (also tried high-quality print), changed the dpi's and other few settings on the advanced preferences
My solution was to download a free-trial of a professional pdf editor/creator (Soda PDF) and print it to that program... but, of course, this is not a long-term solution...
I'll try and see if I can find any help in changing the settings to get the best quality in printing of the adobe acrobat program.
    Thanks!
p.s: I think I meant to say "graphic press" when I wrote professional establishment, I'm not sure how you say it in English.

  • Problem with interactive booklet

i just bought B'Day, by Beyonce, whihc comes with an interactive booklet. i double click on it and nothing happens.... i tried to open it in Quicktime and RealPlayer but it wouldn't work
how does a digital booklet work?
does anyone know why this is happening?

I'm having the same problem. I sent them an e-mail last night and got some delusional response that had nothing to do with my question. I specifically asked about the "B'Day" interactive booklet and said it wouldn't work and all they said was you've downloaded "B'Day" already. I sent them a second e-mail, but I haven't heard back yet.
I'm also having a problem with my "Idlewild" interactive booklet. I can't get it to expand into a larger window. It's only done it once.
The whole interactive booklet thing seems like a complete mess. Not to mention they have 2 of the same version of "B'Day" on iTunes if you click on her name. I'm wondering if one version had the actual booklet and the other didn't. There was an incident with Danity Kane's album on release day also. They had two versions at first, one with a video and one without. But both were the same price. They eventually got rid of the one that didn't include the video. I knew it was an error. But I'm wondering if the same thing happened here.

  • Problem opening digital booklets

Just purchased and downloaded an album from iTunes yesterday and all went well except I cannot open the digital booklet. I get an error message, "Preview couldn't open file. It may be corrupt or a file that Preview doesn't recognize".
The booklet is a pdf file which I've opened numerous times on my Mac without issue. I also copied the booklet to my desktop and attempted to oped directly with Adobe Reader and I get the error message, "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be opened."
Anyone else experience this problem? Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Problems with 'Print Booklet' from InDesign CS4

I am having problems using the 'Print Booklet commane in InDesign CS4. I have done this 100s of time from CS3 with no problems but for some reason it just won't auto duplex (print on both sides of the paper) when I do it from CS4. USing exactly the same settings, computer and file. The printer is setup correctly as will print double-sided automatically from other apps. Using mac leopard. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, I have tried this. I choose 'layout' from the printer option within the driver  and pick 'short edged binding'. Still no luck.

  • Problem downloading digital booklet

I purchased an album months ago that included a digital booklet. The album downloaded fine, but not the digital booklet. EVERY time I open iTunes, it tries to download the booklet. And every time I get an warning about not having access privileges. I have checked and re-checked and I have access to my music folder, my iTunes folder, the folder for that album.
Is there something else that I should do? Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hey richpickford,
Thanks for the question. In researching the error message that you described, the following resource came up:

These messages occur if permissions are incorrect on your designated music folder or on a folder inside your designated music folder. Permissions are settings that determine who can read, write to, or execute a file or folder on your computer. Every file and folder on your hard disk has an associated set of permissions.
Example: If permissions are correct on your Music folder, but incorrect on the U2 folder inside your Music folder, you would be able to add other music to your iTunes library, but not that new U2 album.

  • Problems with importing digital booklets in iTunes 12

    Hi there!
I'm using several Macs, all with iTunes 12.0.1 and I have the same problem on all computers: I can't import PDFs as digital booklets for my albums anymore!
There's no problem with digital booklets that come with purchases on the iTunes-Store. But if I import a CD into my iTunes and scan the booklet as an a PDF (as I always did in the last years), I can't import the PDF to my mediathek anymore! It will not be shown in my iTunes.
Does someone have the same problem and perhaps knows a solution for this? Is this just a bug in the current version of iTunes or has something changed with the handling of importing the digital booklets and I'm just to blind to see?
    Thank you very much!
    Best regards,
    Michael

    Hi!
    Thank you, Peter!
I created a PDF with my scanner software and Acrobat Pro like I always did an tried to import this PDF into iTunes on two ways: First by simply dragging it to the iTunes window (which was no problem before I updated to 12.0.1) and then I tried via the file-menu "Add to mediathek..." (which is Key cmd-O).
I'm using the german version of iTunes - please excuse, if the translation of the menu item is not correct! The german version ist "Ablage -> "Zur Mediathek hinzufügen..."!
Is it possible, that the booklet is shown on some place that i don't find?

  • Brochure / booklet printing problem

    Hi,
I  have a problem with the booklet printing. I am german, so I hope you know what I mean
When I try to print a booklet I sometimes get the error message (translatet from german so maybe it's not the exact wording): "The active document uses multiple page sizes. "Print Booklet" can be used only for documents with common page size."
How can I solve this? All the pages are the same size (A5) but InDesign wont let me print it. The only way that worked for me is to make a new document and copy all the page content but that not a solution. This happens a lot so I'm tired of making new documents...
I hope you can help me.
    thank you
    Hans

    Mr. Krone,
I am the “this DOV” that you refer to.
I never said “that its a non-issue for Adobe.” What I did give you was our position as to the best and most professional method of doing imposition because there are so many issues associated with both “booklet making” and imposition in general that this built-in, fairly hobbled feature simply can't handle correctly. Since the print booklet feature doesn't provide a PDF export feature, if you create PDF via it, it is by distillation of PostScript, a real crap shoot if your document has any transparency effects and/or color management.
If there is a bug (and I am not doubting for a minute that this thread notes some real bug or bugs), it should be reported to Adobe Tech Support for resolution. Neither I nor anyone else in this thread indicated that such a reported bug would be dismissed and not fixed by Adobe.
In terms of the parts of this thread associated with DTP and teaching, etc., I know of absolutely no word processor, layout program, or desktop publishing program (whatever that means) that offers any real support for imposition because, as previously stated, imposition is exceptionally device dependent. If you don't understand that, you are personally not in a position to diss our recommendations.
I will not stoop to the point of posting my résumé into this thread, but let's just say that (1) I've been in senior positions at Adobe for nearly 23 years, (2) have been in the computer and graphic arts industry for over 40 years, (3) currently am also serving as an industry research professor at the California Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo in the Graphic Communications Department teaching publishing workflow as well as having taught classes at RIT and given many classes and presentations throughout the world, (4) am current chair of the ISO PDF/X standards committee, and finally (5) have the full support of Adobe executive management in posting here. Sorry you don't like my advice, but we stand behind it!

  • OT: Margin recommendations to make creep less noticeable

I'm working on a booklet that's sized at 3.625" W x 8.75" H.  I have no idea how many pages the book will be, but it's been as high as 112 pages before.   This book is saddle-stitched, so creep is a problem.  However, multiple people will be working on the book, and I have no idea how many pages it will actually be.  So I see no way to do incremental adjustments.  I was just thinking I'd use a wide-enough margin to be safe throughout the book.  Anybody have any recommendations?  Would 2-pica be enough?  Or too much?  (I'd like to use as little margin as possible.) Should I plan to make the inside margin wider than the outside?
I read somewhere that using a bleed on the top or bottom would make creep more noticeable.  I don't get that though.  Why would it matter if it were on the top?
The book is printed on 60# paper and gets quite thick.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Phyllis

Thanks Peter, I'll make the margin larger.  2p6?  Full half-inch?
And you're right that my top bleed would also go off the side (not sure why I'm being dense about that).  I actually don't know how to adjust for creep as this hasn't been a real issue on anything I've worked on.  I assume you make the inside margins larger at certain intervals (?), but I don't know when.  Unfortunately several people will have to work on this project (the others only barely functioning in InDesign), so I doubt I can be too precise about this.
I do have in a request for perfect-binding prices, but they'll probably stick with the cheapest thing they can get.  These booklets pretty much only have to survive 3 days.  But if it's not crazy expensive, I'm going to try to get them to at least consider perfect binding.  That would mostly eliminate the creep problem, wouldn't it?  My understanding is that perfect binding means the pages are grouped as several signatures and glued (never so many that creep would be seen).  Am I right about that?
    Thanks for your input,
    Phyllis

  • Print booklets from InDesign.

I used to create print booklets from InDesign but this option disappeared with version CS5. Is Adobe doing anything about restoring this feature? What are my options in the meantime?

    Are you patched to 5.0.4?
I run XP SP2, rather than 3, and Acrobat 9 pro (now at version 9.3.2) and I haven't had a problem using Print Booklet to make a PDF, so I suspect either it's something in SP3, or more likely a problem on the system.
First thing might be to try replacing your preferences. See Replace Your Preferences
Next might be to unistall the PDF printer and reinstall it (does it work outside of Print Booklet?). Make sure you update Acrobat first, if you haven't already done so.
If neither of those works, see if there's anything else running in the background that could be causing a problem.
Finally, if nothing is working, it's time to look at a scripted solution. I know two scripts, both by Dave Saunders, that can handle simple two-up saddle stitch impositions without creep. One is better than the other if you have objects crossing the spine, but neither is as sophiticated in what it can do as Print Booklet, which can handle perfect binding with various signature sizes.

  • My not nice story with Nokia Booklet 3G, polish st...

    Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to present my story brieflywith NOKIA service- Regenersis Company (Warsaw).
I have bought netbook Nokia Booklet 3G on 08/08/2010.I was fascinated with this machine (due to the advertisement, what later turned to be my curse, and despite the price I have bought it in EuroAGD shop, based on Lipowa Street, in Gliwice.
I have decided to start it off a few days after (as known updates require time, and on the top of that also need good internet connection , and my internet provider was facing some difficulties these days).I realized in few minutes that WLAN connection i snot working properly ( I use home router, operating together with Windows 7 standards). My netbook was not able to connect to my internet network and others stay ,,invisible,,to it.Ommiting such a small issue, I got to conclusion :if version of the ,,Starter,, system is so poor, I will purchuase Windows7 Pro hoping it will change everything.Unfortunately, it was not the way I wished.Despite the fact I have tried to make some free space in panel, WLAN card appeared useless.I admitt I work as a driver and WiFi connection is essential for my work when abroad, as roaming prices are too high.Because of this, I have decided to complain Booklet. It is Nokia so I will not be a problem.
First I had to find out what are where, so I called Nokia Care.I was informed my problem will be solved on the spotin any Nokia Department ( Gliwice, Chorzow or Katowice).
How surpriced was I when Nokia Department told me totally oposite- Booklet has to be sent to Warsaw.Unfortunetely Departments are open on the week days only, and I go back to Poland on Saturdays, I have no other option than complain it at the shop.
I started realize how difficult it is going to be on 25/09/2010 ( did not expect it would be that difficult).Well, shop manager was ,,molesting ,,me asking why I want to complain Booklet in HIS shop, while there is Nokia Department in Gliwice.I was explaining it is my business why here, thefore I said because of my working hours ( he did not mind to mention any member of my family could complain but as I wish MY complain instead of two weeks at Nokia service, will take up to one month here!
Complain was legallu based on warranty ( which I have regreted after).
I searched fro any infromation about my Booklet on the EuroAGD website. On 15/10/2010 I made a call to the call center and I got informed my machine is back to the shop, and the website is not updated yet.I run to the shop the same day.Stresful situation again, as shop manager looked at me, at warranty papers and opened his eyes wide.He did not know anything about my Booklet, which supposed to return from service.I was waiting over 30 minutes, trying to figure out who an why would treat me lieke a fool.
After all they found it!Staff members foung it somewhere in the storage…I signed the papers, checked the box and…
here it started my agony with Regeneresis Company (Warsaw)! Here comes what I have read in service report:
    ,,Dear Costumer,
During servicing your machine ,claimed problem did not appear…( and here comes the best part)…long term tests run by out technicians did not confirm the issue.Machine works.
I have dropped my jews! How could it work???- standard router, 100% of signal strenght, available to half of my neighbourhood but I am not able to work on my machine 4 meters from the router! There was nothing I could at the time to confirm receiving my Booklet but with the complain due to the way of proceeding the complain.I have checked the system at home (angry) and all my nerves started to be relesed…: lond term tests- all 4 minutes in total, together withseconds it takes to switch it on and off!!!
I called Nokia on Monday: here lady on the phone completely calm informed me, she has no clue about the repair, and I need to contact with the service.
Ok, I wrote first email to get explaination from Regeneresis- NO REPLY.Second email-STILL NO REPLY!
Then I emailed Nokia Poland and EuroAGD.
Then I decided to make a request to the way of servicing ( by calling Regenersis) and again was ignored. Lady on the phone told me, I should contact them via email, as she does not know any detail of servicing and contact with technician i snot possible.
When for the THIRD time I wrote to Regenersis, claiming if I do not not get the expertise of the tests of my card I will sue them in the court, finnaly I got the answer:
,, We hereby apologise for any inconvieniencedue to the wrong expertise, we are very sorry to hear about not detected problem in your Booklet. We kindly request to pass your machine to the service point again.
So all good! But I did not wish to argue with shop manager again AND wait for the nest weeks.I called Regenersis Company one more time to contact person responsible for quality control ( it took me few long calls).
Finally , when we started the conversation I requested that they will pick michine from me and on their own cost, as I do not have time either not in mood to deal with this as they made a mistake.
Case was closed, and I hoped this time it will be sorted out.Ho wfool was I?!
I have received the message from Nokia Care Poland on 26/10/2010:
    ,,Concerning complain nr 88/44/2010.
Thank you for document sent on 15/10/2010 and also 15/10/2010.In return to your complain, according to thewarranty service repair, Booklet 3G IMEI nr 35823/1030270606 by Authorized Nokia Service Center- Regenersis ( Warsaw), we would like to inform , that due to the leak of documentation it is not possible to proceed with decision.
We also explain, that all complains due to the terms of warranty are taken under consideration after receiving copy of purchuase together with service repair copy.To check your claim in details, please fax above documents on the number below: 0225419800 or via email [email protected].,,
It is true I did not send any scans, but all information: reports numbers, dates and so on i sent, so in th eera of telephones, computers it i snot a problem to get interested if company is providing good service and if it is in the good name of Nokia.I have dropped this after all contact I had with Complain Department of Nokia Poland. I knew it had no sense.
I have received next reply from EuroAGD on 29/10/2010:
    ,,Dear Sir,
In return to your message, we inform, that expertise at service did not confirm any problems in work of machine.During tests any issues did not occur. We inform complain was due to the warranty, and warranty is a legal base responsible for censiderating and decisions taken to close the complain.Seller always bases on opinions of authorized warranty service.,,
This was not surprise!but I was just disapointed that even they were not interested to do anything about it, even when I have presented them incompetence of the service (monitor screens, where system diary was shown!).
Courier pick up the Booklet on 25/10/2010.
At the time I sent all screens of analize of software monitoring LAN network as well as information about another problem in Booklet!!!
Bios started to stop to workand the whole machine slown down so drastic that to start system off was taking over 5 minutes!
Above person once a week to get any infromation. It was taking hours.
Next call to Regenersis and Nokia Care Poland, and this time Nokia- lady accepted a complain based on IMEI number , but nothing happened after.
Booklet came back to me at the beginning of November, enclosinf report saying:
,, We inform, during servicing the repair was run according to the producent procedure.Machine works.,,
True, Bios was working- hard discexchenged, new preinstalled Windows7 Starter, but WLAN card still not working!!!This time it cuts signal untill -55dB,in some way this was a succes but internet connection was not possible.
Booklet went again with courier to Warsaw on 29/11/2010.This time not to be repaired but for the expertise to replace machine fro the new one.Control Department said it will take no longer than 1,5 weeks ( optymistic- I thought).
I contacted the same person on 13/12/2010.Unfortunetely a complain cannot be done this way, so I have to do this in person in the shop, and Regenersis will send back machine together with expertise, which is already done, but I cannot receive it ( available fro the seller only).I went to the shop on 19/12/2010.I was getting upset again as shop manager said he will not accept a complain without a Booklet!Explaining that machine will arrive ditect to them and that this fact should be added in documentation gave nothing.I got strict answer:Booklet has to be brought in person, then sent to service for the expertise and with new expertise and the Booklet back, they have 14 days to consider replacement- consider does not mean I got one.
I called Regenersis again on 20/12/2010 and explained what and why.I got information Booklet will be send the same day, and as they will receive a request from the seller, they will also send expertise vi aregistered letter.Hoping that the parcel will arrive the next day, and considerating EuroAGD procedure, these 14 days means decision would be at the begining of 2011.How wrong was I?!
On 23/12/2011,at 09:00 my Booklet was still on the shelf in Regenersis Company (Chmas begins tomorrow, I honestly doubt that Booklet I have bought in August 2010 will get back to me in January 2011!!!
Today, on 28/12/2011Booklet was returned to EuroAGD and sent back to Regeneris Company. And I don’t know how long its going to take again.
    Best Regards.

Yep **bleep** in Poland are not nice! I remember times when our tourist busses, cars and so on were robbered on your roads
Ok, I had similar problem. Solved it just after one day without any strees and extra work - just changed my old wi-fi router (because I was able to connect to my neighbors wi-fi). Simple - just try other wi-fi. Don`t try to re-bild Nokia factory in Chine, try to use compliable router.
My noncompliable router was Netgear with only b/g networks. Don`t remember model.

Next problem : phase Conflict Check,
    Conflicts found.
Check log file 'SPDA_CONFLCHK.LOG' for details.
To resolve the conflicts you must repeat the module and change your Add-on or
Support Package selection or add Conflict Resolution Patches (CRT).
    From SPDA_CONFLCHK.LOG:
2EETN388 The following CRTs of the Add-On "ST" rel."400" must be included as well:
3WETN389 CRT &4"SAPKITL412" for Support Package &1"SAPKB70006" of the Software Component &2"SAP_BASIS" rel.&3"700"
3WETN389 CRT &4"SAPKITL414" for Support Package &1"SAPKB70007" of the Software Component &2"SAP_BASIS" rel.&3"700"
How I can add those CRT 's ?
I have unpacked them to EPS/in, but it didnt help me.

  • Setting compression and resolution in Print Booklet

I'm testing Print Booklet for InDesign CS6 on Windows XP, using Acrobat 8.
I can't find the settings for compression (none) and resolution (288ppi) in the InDesign
    dialogue.
I can set these parameters directly in the parameter list for the 'printer' Adobe PDF,
but these actual settings are not honored. Especially I'm getting always JPEGs instead
    of no compression.
These are the most important windows:
    Sorry for intermediate confusion.

    For other readers:
InBooklet SE – an imposition module in InDesign CS2
Print Booklet – an imposition module in later versions, here CS6
IDImpose – an optional imposition module: http://idimposer.com/
Peter, according to your post #3 one might assume that Print Booklet is
working as expected, if the operator follows some simple rules.
No, it doesn't, but I agree to your statement
Print Booklet to PDF isn't really a recommended workflow
I've updated CS6 for the newest state, it's now ID 8.01.
There are a couple of problems, using Print Booklet for 'printing' as PDF:
    a) Settings for Resolution and Compression cannot be found in InDesign dialogues.
External settings in the 'printer' Adobe PDF are ignored.
    b) Some Encapsulated PostScript components are considered as buggy, though
Export to PDF without Print Booklet for the same pages is flawless, and furtheron
these components themselves are correctly interpreted by other programs
        (MathType, Photoshop, PSAlter...).
    This is the error log:
    %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
    %%[Page: 1]%%
    %%[Page: 2]%%
%%[ Error: typecheck; OffendingCommand: makefont ]%%
    Stack:
    [448.0 0.0 0.0 -448.0 0.0 0.0]
    -file-
    -mark-
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
Obviously, Print Booklet uses the somewhat outdated workflow via PostScript
and Distiller. This is not generally wrong (worked pretty good with PageMaker),
    but here it fails.
Now a few words about IDImposer, which I had tested:
This program creates an imposed version of an InDesign file by generating one PDF
for each page. These pages should be uncompressed and not downsampled, which
is unnecessary for InBooklet SE, where we have only links to already existing
components. The new ID doc contains one PDF per page in the imposed page structure.
Therefore nothing is editable by InDesign. The following Export to PDF leads normally
to correct documents with working Links for URLs (garbled in just one case).
This is obviously not an optimal substitute for InBooklet SE.
    Thanks for the discussion.
