  • Kernal Data Inpage Error, No Bootable Device, Critical Process Died AGAIN! Please help!

I bought this S55-A5295 in July 2013. It started to have problems in April 2014. After 3 months of Critical Process Died, No Bootable Device, and having it shut down multiple times a day, I eventually convince service to take accept it because when I tried to do the recovery, the hard drive was missing partitions needed. (My $30 to ship, despite under warranty)
I received it back late June. The factory replaced the faulty screen (a different problem), but did not replace the hard drive. They supposedly "fixed" it, and added the needed partitions, should I need to do recovery again. I know that the partition was added because when I got it back, instead of being like new out of the box and ready to use, I was locked out because it was set to administrator and there was no option to access it, so I had to use the partitioned info. and do ANOTHER reset after getting it back from them. Not great service all around.
Now the laptop is out of warranty and I've started having problems again.
Sept. 16 -- I had a Kernal Data Inpage Error. The laptop made a horrible sound and shut down. At the time there was a Toshiba Canvio Slim II external drive attached.
Sept. 18 -- EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD 0xc00000bb the boot configuration data for your PC is missing or containing errors.
Sept. 19 -- Kernal Data Inpage Error. At this point I had removed the external drive, in case that was the problem. It wasn't letting me remove it earlier in the week. I didn't use it much over the next week.
Sept. 27 -- No Bootable Device.
Sept. 30 -- Kernal Data Inpage Error (volmgrx.sys)
Then Critical Process Died -- 3 different times
Then it restarted itself once without an error code.
Today, Oct. 1, I installed updates from Toshiba, including one fpr HDD and I performed maintenance. I tried to do the hard drive check, but the tabs in the instructions on the computer don't actually exist.
The directions: go to Computer, Properties, Tools tab (can't find it) , so no Error Checking and Check.
However, I did find, under Performance information and Tools my computer's performance rating. The Primary Hard Disk data transfer rate is 5.9.
So far it hasn't shut down today and hopefully the updates have fixed any issues, but I want to be prepared if they don't.
Are these errors coming from my laptop's hard drive? Is there a way for me to actually check that? Are the errors somehow connected to my TOSHIBA external drive? I haven't connected the external drive since the errors started happening, but i will need to use it again at some point, I just wanted to make sure the laptop was okay first.
Also, I am still running Windows 8. That's what they reset it to at the factory, and last time the issues seemed to correspond to me upgrading to 8.1, so I am wary to end up with a $600 paper weight again.
    Please advise. Thanks!!

..went through the whole reset.   ...   ..do ANOTHER reset after getting it back from them
What can I say? The gold-standard test for a software problem is to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents.
    I'm a Windows specialist. Can't troubleshoot hardware.

  • Windows 8.1 Blue Screen of Death "Critical process died" after Windows update

Hey there, my Envy laptop has the "Critical Process Died" blue screen of death error after doing 3 things today:
    1. A BIOS update through HP Support Assistant.
    2. An x64 windows process update (optional) through the Control Panel.
    3. An NVIDIA update.
What can I do to fix this error? I'm okay with a complete system wipe. Please help.
    *Windows 8.1 64bit

The only option that worked for me was to "reset" my PC, as in a complete wipe. it's working properly again, when I read reviews of windows 8.1 I didn't really believe the people who said stay away from it, but since I've had more problems than I'd wish to, I'm too afraid to go back to it. Thanks anyways guys.

  • Return process in Warehouse mangement

    Hi all,
can any one telll me the steps involved in the return process in Warehouse Management.
    Waiting for UR early reply.
    With Rgd
    Vinod

    Everything starts in inventory management.
once the goods movement is posted in IM, then you get the stock into the interim storage type in WM. at the same time you should get a transfer request which need to be converted into a transfer order to move the material into its final bin.
In case of a customer return:
CSR will enter a return order.
then a return delivery is created.
Then post goods receipt is done in reference to the delvery.
you get stock into the interim bin
convert the TR to a TO and confirm the movement.
then in inventory management a transfer posting is done to change stock status from return to own stock.
at the same time you get a transfer posting request in WM, which you can process with LU04 transaction, to get the status in IM and WM in sync.
finally or somewhere between in this process the CSR issues a credit note to the customer.

  • Work flow process in warehouse

    hi
i made a process in warehouse builder 9.2, when i try to

the problem seems to be that the package 'WB_RTI_WORKFLOW_UTIL' does not exists, i have checked it but i could not find it.
    any help

    Hi,
I guess there are a lot of OWB project people that have similar needs as you.
My needs have two main reasons:
Managing incremental loading - I need to know last time a specific mapping ran (start-, end time and status). This might be tricky however, as clocks on different instances might be out of sync - use NTP (network time protocol sync) or maintain source system mapping time in supporting tables.
Modularizing workflows with lots of mappings - current workflow operators force you to implement everything in a single process to maximize parallellism - because you cannot wait for events outside of your subprocess. Modularizing is achieveable with a workflow event publish/subscripe scheme or a function that blocks until a specific process with the same top_level_execution_audit_id finishes. If I settle for a little less parallellism, just querying the status of the process will do.
Such functions can be implemented around the public view ALL_RT_AUDIT_EXECUTIONS, but it would have been really nice if they were a part of the OWB library.

  • S540 critical process died

    Hy,
I have upgraded my S540 to Windows 8.1. I installed all drivers and updates and have now sometimes bluescreens with the message "critical process died". I know this is not much information but I have no idea how to examne or solve the problem.

  • A720 critical process died HELP!!

Hi, I have a problem with my lenovo A720 and it is an upgrade to windows 8 from windows 7 pro. Now, the computer won't even turn on because of the BSOD of windows 8, the critical process died. It just keep restarting when it reaches the windows 8 logo, the blue login. The only menu i can open is the Lenovo BIOS setup utility and it doesn't even help. I can't seem to find any system recovery option. Please Help !!

    hi kevingo,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Community.
It looks like something went wrong when you upgraded the machine from Windows 7 PRO to Windows 8. If you have created a backup of your files, you can try to:
    1. Run One Key Recovery by repeatedly tapping the F2 key during boot-up. This will guide you through in restoring Windows 7 back to the machine then you can perform the Windows 8 upgrade again.
    2. Clean install Windows 8 into the machine (refer to this guide)
    Hope this helps.

  • Critical process died

I have a custom built hp envy sleekbook. It froze in the middle of playing saints row 2 about a week after a new windows update to 8.1. I have never had my laptop freeze to a point that restarting couldn't fix it. It keeps saying critical process died and gives me a list of solutions that don't work, then restarts and does it all over. I have a windows 8 guidebook that tells me to run a recovery disk, but my laptop doesn't have a disk drive. I don't want to reformat my laptop, but don't know what else to do.

  • Config Steps for Pick process from warehouse number

    Dear Gurus,
Need the config. steps for picking process with warehouse number assignments
    Thanks

    Hi,
You only need to assign a Warehouse number for the combination of Plant and Storage location in SPRO in assignment of organisational structures in Warehouse Mngt. If this is done, then picking will become mandatory and you can do picking either manually or automatically through LT03 or other transactions.
If this warehouse assignment is not done, then you can put the picking quantity directly in delivery and do PGI. If this assignment is done, then you will be able to do picking only through transactions like LT03, either in foreground or background. In this case, u will not be able to manually update the picking quantity in delivery.
    Hope this helps.

  • Lenovo Z50-75 : Critical Process Died

Hi, i bought lenovo z50-75 few months ago. I'm trying to update my computer on 21/07/15 as it suggest to update and restart. But then it stuck during update and blue screen with a sad face appeared. It said that my laptop having CRITICAL PROCESS DIED error. After it collected all the data and restarted, this error keep coming to me and i have no idea what's going on.The blue screen keep coming to me just after a few minutes/seconds i restart my laptop. I tried to go into Safe Mode so that i can run a scan or anything. But this is another problem.I can't launch Safe Mode. For your information,i just bought this laptop on March (if i not mistaken).I didn't expect that i'll facing this severe issue just after few months i bought it,not even half a year! Now i can't even backup my files in my laptop due to this Blue Screen problem! Do you have any solution?Do you provide on-site repair service?

I can't use a restore point because my laptop keep showing blue screen. So i tried refreshing my system and it worked. Now my laptop is ok.Thank you. I  still have two questions. First of all, now i refresh my system and it restore to original system. If my laptop suggest to update should i update it or not? Second, my apps gone after i refresh the system. Some of my apps such as Art Rage and Autodesk SketchBook can only download once with license, now the apps gone, how can i redownload it?

  • "CRITICAL PROCESS DIED" and "FINGERPRINT READER IS NOT CONNECTED.

the two issues are as follows; When I try to use my fingerprint reader (after upgrading to win 10) I get the message that the "FINGERPRINT READER IS NOT CONNECTED". How does one get it to connect? When I try to reinstall any software that requires a (RE-START OR BOOT) with HP Recovery Manager, it gives me the new blue screen that says, CRITICAL PROCESS DIED. Please assist. Jon

It is possible to work-around the issue, but some manual steps are needed:
    1.  delete "smihlp.sys" from "c:\program files\thinkvantage fingerprint software"
    2.  run "services.msc" and stop the service "Windows Biometric Service"
    3.  delete the file "031D23AD-15AF-4e25-B7B3-DE34893097ED.DAT" from "c:\Windows\system32\WinBioDatabase"
    4.  reboot the computer  (important!!)
    5.  now try to enroll some fingers
This should make it possible to enroll fingerprint and use it to log into Windows, until the bug can be fixed in some future version of BIOS and/or Fingerprint software.

    Physical Inventory:
Physical Inventory is a business process in which physical stock is matched with book (system) stock. It is legal requirement to carry out physical inventory at least once in a year.
Physical inventory can be carried out both for a companyu2019s own stock (Unrestricted, Quality, Blocked Stock) and for special stocks (Customer Consignment stock, Vendor consignment stock from vendor, Returnable packaging). This inventory is carried out saperately for both type of stocks.
    Physical Inventory Processes:
Several inventory processes available for physical inventory which includes as follow:
    1. Periodic Physical Inventory
o All stocks of the company are physically counted on the balance sheet key date
o Every material must be counted
o Entire warehouse must be blocked for material movements during count.
    2. Continuous Physical Inventory
o Stocks are counted continuously during the entire fiscal year.
o It is important to ensure that every material is physically counted at least once during the year.
    3. Cycle Counting
o In this method of physical inventory, inventory is counted at regular intervals within a fiscal year.
o These intervals (or cycles) depend on the cycle counting indicator set for the material in Material Master record as CC indicator in plant view data.
o With this Cycle Counting Method of Physical Inventory allows fast-moving items to be counted more frequently than slow-moving items.
    4. Inventory Sampling
o Randomly selected stocks of the company are physically counted on the balance sheet key date.
o If found not much variance between the counted stock and the book book stock, it is presumed that the book inventory balances for the other stocks are correct.
    Physical Inventory Process Cycle Flow
    1. Creation of physical inventory document
    - Physical inventory document(s) is created individually or using the batch program, click for more information
    - The transaction codes for creation physical inventory are as follow
    Individual Inventory documentation creation
MI01 - Individual physical inventory creation
MIS1 - Inventory Sampling document creation
MICN - Cycle count inventory document creation
    Collective Inventory document creation
MI31 - Own stock without special stock
    MIK1 - Vendor consignment
    MIQ1 - Project stock
    MIM1 - Returnable Transpiration material
    MIW1 - Customer Consignment stock
MIV1 - Returnable material with customer
MIO1 - Material provided to Vendor (Subcontracting material)
    2. Print physical inventory document
    - Physical Inventory document can be printed based on the physical inventory document status and or item status
    - Transaction code MI21 is used to print the inventory document where print default value can be populated
    3. Count the physical stock
    - Based on the inventory document printout, the warehouse person will check the stock of material physically and note that on print out. This is completely physical process.
    4. Enter count in system
    - On completion of physical count, the count result is needs to be entered in the system. This can be with reference (using Tcode MI04) or without reference (using Tcode MI04) to the physical inventory document.
    - If count quantity for that material is ZERO then select ZC (zero count) column instead of putting 0 in qty field. If 0 is used for zero count then systm will consider that as "not counted"
    5. Analyze difference
    - Once count is posted in the system, difference analysis can be carried out using transaction MI20
    - The output gives information based on the input criteria i.e. physical inventory document, plant, material etc.
    - The output gives information about the book quantity, Counted quantity, difference in quantity and value.
    - From this output list, you can carry out further process ie initiate recount, change count quantity, post difference
    6. Initiate recount and follow the steps 3,4,5
    - If found unacceptable difference, recount is initiated using directly from difference analysis list (transaction code MI20) or using transaction code MI11.
    - New inventory document will be created for selected items or for entire document
    - The original document items will be deactivated once recount is initiated so original document will not be available for further process.
    - On initiating recount, you need to process same as for new count document.
    7. Post the difference
    - Several options are available for posting difference
    - Post difference after count is posted using transaction code MI07
    - Posting the count and inventory differences using transaction code MI08, here you have created physical inventory but not counted so with this you can count and post difference in sinle step.
    - Entering the count without a document reference using trasnaction code MI10, with this you can create inventory document, enter the count and post difference in single step.
some more points for posting difference
    - Posting period must be open to post inventory difference.
    - The fiscal year is set by specifying a planned count date when creating a physical inventory document.
    - Tolerence to crear difference per user group can be set in customization.
    - The system will generate material document for the difference qty and post the value to appropriate account (for valuated stock)
    - The movement type in material document will be 701 or 702 based on gain or loss of material.
    Serial Numbers in Physical Inventory
If material is managed with serial number then it is possible to carry out physical inventory for material with serial number. There are some pre-requisite before you carry out physical inventory for serialized materials.
    - Serial number profile must be maintained in the material master.
    - the serialization procedure MMSL (maintaining goods receipt and goods issue documents) has to be assigned to serial number profile.
    - The stock check indicator in the serial number profile should be configured.
    - Maintain basic settings for the serial numbers in customization for Serial Number Profile.
    - Configure serial number management for physical inventory in the Settings for Physical Inventory step in Customizing for Inventory Management.
Blocked Stock Returns are the stock which is return stock from Customer or the stock which can be return back to vendor. To restrict the usage of this stock mostly business do transfer posting for this mateial as BLOCKED stock
Goto SPRO -> Sales and Distribution -> Billing -> goto Copy Control -> use Copy control Between billing doc to sales doc.
select the line which refers to ur billing doc and Return Sales doc.
Goto Item level and please check the Check box saying Update Doc Flow .
This check box will keep track of Refernce qty between Billing Doc and Return Sales Doc.

  • LE-WM how this shipping process in warehouse management

    hi
what is exactly shipping process how it is supported in  logistic execution and warehouse process
what is the process of outbound deliveries can you tell me how these process useful in warehouse management .
    thanks inadvance.

    HI Subash,
In case of Shipping with Warehouse Mangement we process the picking functionality using transfer orders.
I.e when we create a delivery with reference to the sales order,  the delivery qty will be editable but the picking qty field be display only. You can also see the Overall WM status in the Picking tab as A - Partially processed. (If all the IMG settings are done correctly).
Once you entered the Delivery qty save the delivery doc with pickin qty as 0 (display).
Now go to transaction LT03 (TO with ref to Delivery Note) & create a Trasfer Order (TO) with ref to Delv.d. Then confirm the TO using LT12 transaction.
Now go to VL02N you can see the Picked Qty in the Picking tab & also the Overall WM status will be C - completely Processed. Now do the PGI for the delivery.
    Hope it helps.
