CRM and automotive / Vehicle Management

How to activate in CRM some automotive functions, like:
- create product hierarchy/categories for automotive
- activate BDOC types for vehicle replication
In old Best Practice releases, there is content A84 'CRM Integration', but this is not part of the actual Best Practice anymore, nor on the internet. Can someone email me the A84, or give information to the basic steps?
Thanks, Toine Pothuizen

Thanks,
The information is usefull.

  • VMS - Vehicle Management System

    Hi all,
I am in a very urgent need of VMS (Vehicle Management System) related study material, links and documents.
Please reply through this post or email me at [email protected]
I would really appriciate your help.
    Thanks
    Juhi

you will get a detailed information about Vehicle management system.
Inorder to get this VMS functionaliy, it should require the addon DIMP(Discrete Industries Milk products)
More Info :-The Vehicle Management System (VMS) is an application for the Automotive industry. It supports, in the area of Sales & Services, the business processes that you require as vehicle importer when dealing with your original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and your dealers in new and used vehicle sales. VMS offers you complete integration of all the relevant processes such as procurement, sales, rework, returns processing, trade-in and service processing. It also supports the archiving of vehicle data. In other words, it allows you to react flexibly to customers’ requirements in the area of production (using the “pull strategy”) and fast delivery times with reduced warehouse stock and sales/distribution costs.
For the vehicle importer, VMS serves as a central tool for managing, procuring, sales/distribution and tracking of vehicles. Your dealers use it as a workplace for configuration, searching, purchasing and tracking of vehicles for your end customers. The dealers can log in to your system remotely via Internet and access your data. You do not require your own SAP system for this. You only need an Internet browser, via which you work with a simplified VMS internet interface.

  • What is the difference of  customer master data  between CRM and ECC

    Dear all,
We are helping  customer to  evaluate using CRM or ECC to manage there customer master data, focusing on the benefit of using CRM system.
Can any one help to compare the difference between these two system?
some tips in my mind are:
    1. CRM has a friendly user interface for user to adjust the layout, hide/display  favourite information according to actuall req.
    2. In CRM, user can change the field/assignment block description easilly
    3. in CRM7.0, user can add new customzing field easilly via AET
    4. CRM has a good any analysis platform to provide pie chart analytic
    5. CRM store more customer infor. than ECC, such as Marketing attribute, account classfication...anything else?
any other benefit to use CRM for customer master data? Pls help!!!
    Thanks very much!!
    BR,
    Hedy

I would agree with most of the topics you mentioned. Just one remark to topic number 5. Business partner doesn't have more data than erp. It has some more marketing oriented data, but on other hand doesn't have all finincial and credit data that are relevant for erp financial transactions.
In our company we have the following scenario: all business partners are created in crm (because there the sales activities are started and because we don' clasify at the begining all partners as customers but as prospects. and of course it has nicer user interface). but when we are closing the deals (ordreds are transfered to erp), we fill some additional (financial) data of that partner on erp side and clasify partners as customers.

  • Regarding ECC 6.0- CRM and BW. URGENT....Please help!!

    Dear All,
I have a small query- Are CRM and BW an integral part of ECC 6.0? I mean, if I install ECC 6.0, will CRM and BW also get installed OR Do I need to explicitly install CRM and BW after installing ECC 6.0?
If CRM and BW are an integral part of ECC 6.0, Do I need to carry out some additional steps/install add-on components(while installing ECC 6.0), to activate CRM and BW OR  will it be activated by default once I am through with the normal installation process of ECC 6.0?

The building block CRM Lead Analysis describes the all the required activities to analyze the Marketing Lead Analysis data from SAP CRM in SAP Business Information Warehouse.
The analysis is carried out with the following queries of the InfoCube 0MKTG_C01 CRM - Lead Management (SAP BW Business Content).
The Lead Management InfoCube contains all the characteristics and data used for the administration of leads. This InfoCube enables you to execute the following standard queries available in SAP BW:
    1.     Channel Analysis: This query is used to determine the best channels by which business partners are contacted in the context of a marketing campaign. Following each marketing campaign, the lead manager can compare the success of a given channel to those of others.
    2.     Efficiency Reporting: This query is used to analyze the efficiency with which leads are qualified. By navigating to the sales organizations and the responsible employees for the leads, it is possible to assess how efficiently lead teams are working and to identify areas for improvement.
    3.     Historical Evaluation: Use to help analyze and compare leads over different intervals (comparison of different quarters or years for example) to see if general characteristics in the processing of leads can be identified for these periods.
    4.     Lost Leads: Provides an overview of the number of lost leads in a particular period and the reasons (implemented as a navigation characteristic) for the loss of the leads. This query is used to analyze the main reasons why leads might be lost, with a view to developing new strategies for overcoming these weaknesses.
    5.     Channel Mgmt.: Top-n Lost Leads (Current Year): In a Channel Manager Portal, this query provides an analysis of the leads lost by a Channel Manager over the past 12 months. Channel Managers can also view the leads lost by their Channel Partners. In a Partner Portal, this query shows the top-n unsuccessful leads distributed by a Channel Manager to a Channel Partner. Partner Manager can see the lost leads of the Partner Employees over the year. Partner Employee can view his lost leads over the year.

  • Different pricing procedure between CRM and ERP

    Hello,
we`re using a CRM system which is connected to a ERP system. As not all pricing conditions from ERP are needed in CRM (an in addition the ERP pricing procedure is very complex), we would like to use a different (with less conditions) pricing procedure ind CRM.
But now, when we transfer an order from CRM to ERP, the pricing procedure from ERP gets downloaded into the order in CRM and the prices are lost. Therefore I have 2 questions:
    1. Is it not possible to have a different pricing procedure in CRM than in ERP?
    2. Is it possible to stop transferring the pricing procedure from ERP back to CRM when transferring orders?
Thank you in acvance for your help
    Jan

    Hi, Jan.
    1. Is it not possible to have a different pricing procedure in CRM than in ERP?
Yes. You can use different  pricing procedure for you business documents.
We use this for quotation management with inergation CRM-ERP.
But, You must use same Condition Types and other objects.

  • CRM and ECC  6.0

    Hi Gurus,
Can any one tell me the difference in functionalities between crm and ecc 6.0?
Or ecc6.0 is integrated with crm?
What all functionalities of crm can be configured through ecc 6.0?
Whether we require a seperate crm system like the R/3 4.7 and connect it through the middleware
    Please suggest at the earliest
    Thanks in advance
    Ajay

    Hi Ajay,
This question could have saved us all this efforts
Btw, opportunity management is used to capture the potential customers info. It helps to capture the buying pattern, the source from which this opportunity is captured, the probability of winning the order. Also we can maintain the various stages of Oppoprtunity and the activities that need to be performed in each phase. You can also maintain the competitor info in opportunity.
Also if you are using PCUI, the opportunity created in CRM5.0 using PCUI can be created as Sales Quotation in ECC.
The opportunity is not replicated in ECC otherwise.
The opportunity can be then followed up by sales order which can then be replicated into ECC.

  • Can you please explain about the vehicle management system?

    Hi ,
i want to know about the module (vehicle management system) .please explain any one in details .
    Regards
    Venkata .

    Hi Venkata,
The Vehicle Management system (VMS) is part of SAP IS - Auto. Generally it is said that it is used by importers, however I would rather put it like this – It can be used for an importer or a distributor’s business functions. So if an OEM is also performing a distributor’s business, he can also use VMS and get benefited out of it.
The VMS facilitates to see a Vehicle like a Vehicle in the system.
Following are the few high level features -
It allows to capture all the attributes of a  particular vehicle as an unique object in the system
All the transaction on a vehicle (sales, purchase etc.) can be carried out keeping vehicle as a central object, provides ease of operation to users. All business and technical data of the vehicle is available here.
Strong configuration based vehicle search and vehicle history (transactions) helps in tracking the vehicle easily for any purpose in the distribution chain of OEMà Distributorà Dealerà End Customer.
This is in brief about VMS.

For all this applications Company data (Master Data) has to provide from CRM and the changes took place for Company data in CRM will be updated in to Virtual Directories .For this service we need to establish Delta mode connection between SAP CRM and Virtual Directories.
Which is existing in Access management system .
Do we have any standard connectors from SAP CRM to connect and who we can achieve this .
Please let us know..Certainly there will be a reward points

  • Difference between CRM and R/3

    can anyone clarify on these...
What is difference between CRM and R/3
Also about CRM sales order vs R/3 Sales order why we go crm in this case .

First, it is expedient to state that both SAP Business One and SAP R/3 are built on the concept of client/server architecture. So how do they differ? Let's first understand the relationship in a client server setup. A client server is a computer system design standard in which the client machines requests and gets back information from a distribution machine called the server.
SAP Business One as said earlier is based on client/server architecture, howbeit a "2 tier": strictly, clients and server. This technology is often referred to as a fat client. This is because all processing and business logic are carried out on the client.
SAP R/3 is based on a three tier client/server technology. Typically, it is made up of three functionally distinct layers namely: the user interface, business logic and database.
The user interface, which is otherwise known as the presentation server displays the interface for users' communication with the SAP system. It is often referred to as the SAP GUI. As a matter of fact, it is a program called sapgui.exe. The application server is where the business logic and data manipulation takes place. Data processing, SAP administration tasks and client request/feedback management are handled within the business layer. The database layer is synonymous to the database server and it typically acts as a data repository for tables and other database objects and structures.
Ideally, an R/3 system is composed of one database server, one or more application servers and one or more presentation servers. SAP Business One on the other hand is composed of a database server and one or more presentation servers.

  • CRM AND SAPR3

    Hello All,
Can you please let me know how CRM and SAPR3 related together?
Is there any data exchange done between them? if yes what kind of data?
I am new to this field.
    Help would be appriciated?
    Manish

    Hi Manish,
SAP R/3 is the core component of SAP. CRM is another system which can be linked with it for better management of the customer data. in general we would CRM as the leading system and R/3 as a backend for the processing of transaction data like delivery, billing etc.
Both master and transactional data are being exchanged within CRM and R/3.
And also for General CRM queries please post in the following Forum, coz this is an exclusive forum for discussion of SAP CRM 2007 with respect UI, implementation etc.
SAP CRM: Webclient UI - Framework
    Hope it helps you.
