CRM career

CRM Gurus,
I recently made a shift from ABAP to CRM (marketing, sales and IC) I am trying to find a project for sometime now and had no luck. Can somebody give me an idea of the CRM market right now. Anyway contacts will be much appreciated.
Regards,
Deepak

Hi BB,
You have a very good domain/functional experience and also a certified consultant apart from having one year realtime experience. These are all positive aspects for a functional consultant.
Though the CRM market is expected to see a boom since long time, it is not happening and my suggestion is, it is better to learn few important topics in BW and finally go for 'APO'. This is purely my opinion and lets see the opinion of the gurus and this will help many SD consultants who are looking for a change.
Wish you all the best.
Thanks,
Ravi

  • CRM Career and Certification

    Hi there,
I have over 10 years work experince with a Masters and an Exec MBA. I've worked on a CRM tool called Vantive for six years (Service module for a large telecom company in the US).
I'm a little stuck in my present job and hope to foray into SAP CRM for the exceptional oppurtunities available. To fast track my career, I was planning to take the training at Seimens next month and get certified in Fundamentals and a couple of applications.
I'd greatly appreciate if anyone could guide on the best approach to clear this certification exam and break into SAP CRM. I know certification will not substitute for real time experience but I was hoping it could jump start my career.
If anyone has any guidance, sample questions for the certification exam, please email them to [email protected]
    Many Thanks in Advance,
    N V Raman

  • APO or CRM Career Options ?

    Hi,
I m a SAP SD Certified guy with one year exp. on SAP SD Support and prior to that i have Five years experience as a Sales and Marketing Executive.
But it seems that the in the current market there is very optimal need of SD Consultants , companies are asking for more cross functional or for SD consultant who has knowledge of CRM or APO.
I wanted to ask with my experience of 1 year support, should I go for APO now or shall I gain a little more experience before moving towards APO or CRM?

It is an interesting question you have asked. With just one year of SD support, I am not sure if you are familiar with the internals of SD. (This may sound like a rude remark). It easily takes 3-4 years to criss-cross SD. Some of my friends took one full year to become an ace in Pricing of SD.
On the choice between APO and CRM, the latter is anyday a better choice. Check the traffic in the latter forum and compare it with the former. It is a decent proxy of the market. There are companies in this world who will be focusing their energy on Marketing/front-end side of things rather than the backend of their organization like supply chain. Many organizations have honestly not been able reap tangible measurable benefits out of supply chain products.
Check also the annual report and other investment relationship materials in SAP site(http://www.sap.com/about/investor/reports/annualreport/2006/pdf/2006_SAP_Annual_Report.pdf). I am eagerly awaiting the one for 2007. The report does give feelers on the size of this new dimension market and the kind of development commitment it puts into each of these areas.

  • Can I restart my career in SAP CRM!

    Hi,
I am SAP CRM 5.0 certified in Sales, which was in 2007. I worked for a multinational company for 15 months in India. I worked on support project. And because I was on a contract and contract finished I had to leave the company. And I didnt want to work on SAP any more. I left SAP job in march 2009, since then I have not been in touch with SAP CRM. I am in UK right now and I want to work into SAP again. I know it is SAP CRM 7.0 now.
    My questions are,
    1) Is it possible for me to start my career again in SAP? if yes, how can I go step by step?
    2) Is SAP CRM 7.0 is so different than SAP CRM 5.0?
    3) Anybody has got any idea of UK SAP CRM market ?
    4) Do they consider a person with 15 months experience?
    Please advice.

If you render an image sequence, it's not a big deal: stop the render, save the project and pick up where you left off.
If you render a move, you'd have to re-render the entire movie that's currently rendering.
Anything else, e.g. Save Frame As or export audio, take such a short time that you can tell the IT person to hold onto his/her shirt for a couple of seconds.

    Hi Binayak,
I would rather advice you to see where SAP is heading in the processs of evolving roles, Instead of being a Functional consultant you need to be a Business Process Expert, now that all the configurations and IMG stuff will be done by Process Modellers, its right time for a Functional guy to get well versed in the technical know-how of a process as the future demands this Role BPx and do the customer implementations in E-SOA.
Hope this helps, Please assign points.

  • How to switch a career in CRM

I am working as a business analyst and now want to switch my profile into CRM domain. Can anyone suggest the possible ways for this or any certification in CRM would assist?

    Hi,
Basically now-a-days there are many CRM softwares in market. Getting functional understanding of the CRM is more important than the technical detail of any one software like Oracle Siebel CRM because you are a business analyst. Previously the Oracle Siebel CRM was the only software other than SAP CRM and it had a high market share. But now-a-days CRM on Demand similar to cloud computing is gaining ground, because many Organizations cannot afford Oracle Siebel CRM. As of now SalesForce is a big power in CRM on Demand. CRM on demand gives less than features than standalone Siebel CRM.
There are certifications available by Oracle for functional as well as technical CRM softwares. But this are specific to Oracle Siebel. Each CRM Software has basic functional things similar. SAP CRM is also a god option.
So I will suggest you can first get a functional training in any of the CRM software and then based on where you can see more opportunities, go ahead and take the Technical training as well. Again I am aware about Oracle Siebel, that their trainings are very costly.
You can get details for oracle on this site.
    http://education.oracle.com
Also, below is one of the certification link.

  • [CRM] Change sales office from within an order

We've been trying to get the following to work... as you might guess, so far without success.
From within a CRM order, if we change the partner number for the department a check is being done whether that partner belongs to the same sales office. If that's not the case, the sales office has to be adjusted.
Since this might have an effect on authorization, the changing of the sales office has to be done in a separate job (action). In this job, I do the following:
    - Retrieve data on the object
    - crm_order_read for that object
    - select the correct sales office
    - prepare the crm_orgman structure with the new data
    - crm_order_maintain with the crm_orgman and inputfields tables
    - optionally commit work, bapi_transaction_commit etc.
For as far as we can see, the data is correct. However nothing is being changed. Ideally what I'd like to do is break into the process, change the object that's being processed in memory, and let the system do its job.
What we've also tried is (shame):
    - Retrieve data on the object
    - crm_order_read for that object
    - select the correct sales office
    - direct update the corresponding tables with the new values
This works, but as soon as we return control to the system, the changed values (verified, if we look at the tables the values are changed) are reset to what they were.
It's taking way too much hours for something that should be (in my eyes) a pretty simple action. Any suggestions? Thx in advance!

    Hi Egbert,
Please take a careful look at the GUIDs you are using: if you are using the orgman structures, the REF_GUID is not the ORGMAN-GUID but instead the ORDERADM_H-GUID. Can you confirm if this has been checked and if it then still is not working? The COMMIT_WORK BAPI is also not necessary.
    Kind regards,
    Joost Janssens

    Hi Leon,
Thanks for your quick revert, but just wondering if Banking domain is good for FI/Co, as I guess it has more to do with Finance and not Retail Banking, I in the mean time searched another Module for Banking Industry called IS- Banking..I think, this module will be in line with the Banking Exp but whats the demand of this module in Banking sector that has to be seen!!
    Thanks for your help!

  • Header and Item Text is not replicating from ECC6.0 to SAP CRM 7.0

    Hi SAP Experts,
When the text is added at header and item in Texts tab from SAP CRM then this is transferring into ECC6.0 but the otherway round is not working i.e., from ECC6.0 to SAP CRM.
    Would appreciate for giving solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards
    Succhi

    Hi Succhi
There are a number of oss notes to check: 1169856, 720147, 550343, and 549209
Please make sure that the text tables are included in the filter as per note 720147.
Also include the configuration as per note 549209.
It is necessary that the same text types exist in both systems so please review the configuration carefully.
    I hop this helps.
    Best Regards

  • Some question about SAP CRM consultant

    Dear all,
I'm a center-based consultant in china. Our company is among the first batch to run SAP CRM in china in 2006.Our version is CRM 5.0.From my two years' working experience, the status of using CRM in our company is not very good.Complex UI,sychrorize problem makes our partner not willing to use this system.
I used to do some ABAP developing then i began to transfer to MM&SD.CRM work is the recent thing.During some months' work in CRM,i found i am more interesting in CRM.
I want to find a new job in outside consulting company in future.I want to focus on CRM.One aspect is that i'm interested in CRM.The other is that CRM is a new product and there is not so many people doing this. However,i seems getting some worries.First,SAP CRM seems not quite mature just from my understanding in 5.0 version. We  need to develope a lot not just using User-exit.I don't know whether 7.0 has changed a lot.I've seen the UI of 7.0.It seems much better. But is it means more company will choose SAP CRM 7.0 other than Siebel? In china, there seems not many CRM projects now and i don't know the status in other countries.Second,CRM may have much differences from ERP implementation because there are many process which can't be solidified.
In one word,i'm worried about CRM consultant's future. And i hope gurus to give me the answers.THx.

    Hi Feng
It would be very intersting to clients as well as consultants to work on SAP CRM. Career wise you have ample opportunities in the same. With the advent of various features in CRM 7.0 version, SAP is now more user friendly and is easy to implement with lot many processes covered as a part of vanila offer.
I wish you all the best and hope this helps.
