Crypto errors CTM ERROR: Failed to allocate x bytes of memory
Hi There.
I am currently getting a strange error when trying to use and crypto services on our ASA 5520 (8.0.3)
Initially I observed that a connected VPN had dropped.
Then when I attempted to use ASDM or SSH I was blocked.
In the end I opened telnet as a test and this was successful. Syslog also shows that traffic is passing as normal.
The only obvious error I can see when observing various debug traces is this;
FW02# CTM: rsa session with no priority allocated @ 0xCF1FBBA0
CTM: Session 0xCF1FBBA0 uses a nlite (Nitrox Lite) as its hardware engine

CTM: dh context allocated for session 0xCEF249D0
CTM ERROR: Failed to allocate 279 bytes of memory, ctm_nlite_generate_dh_key_pair:183
Has anyone seen anything like this before as I am lost?
Mike
Thanks for that. It does look like its out of crypto memory...
DMA memory:
Unused memory: 23849516 bytes (30%)
Crypto reserved memory: 20537556 bytes (26%)
Crypto free: 0 bytes ( 0%)
Crypto used: 20537556 bytes (26%)
Block reserved memory: 34669024 bytes (44%)
Block free: 30734752 bytes (39%)
Block used: 3934272 bytes ( 5%)
Used memory: 185120 bytes ( 0%)
Unless there is a way to specifically restart only the crypto engine or clear crypto memory then I guess I am looking at a reload?

generated during import operation, using documentation about migration from 10g XE to 11g XE.Hello,
you could try to override the automatic memory management and setup your SGA to be larger by setting SGA_TARGET. If that doesn't help yet, you could even try to configure the memory size for the components in SGA manually, but I guess this won't be necessary.
After your import is done, I'd recommend to use automatic memory management again.
See the XE 2 Day DBA for details, especially the section on [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17781_01/server.112/e18804/memory.htm#ADMQS174]Managing Memory. It's not a complete guide, but a rough introduction, but it'll probably help you understand the memory concepts in the database.
Keep in mind that you may only assign 1 GB of memory in total when you setup your memory manually.

Error: Unable to fulfil request for 262144 bytes of memory space.
Hi experts,
When running a query and 30 minutes after that, I received an error message from BW:
<b>Error Group
RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
Message
Unable to fulfil request for 262144 bytes of memory space.</b>
Can someone help me with this?Hi Bob,
Many thanks for your reply. I believe your observation is correct. I can run the report when I choose only one month instead of 17 months.
However, do you think that something can be done on BW server to eliminate this problem? Is there not enough memory on BW server to fulfil this request?
Thanks. -

Emca: Failed to allocate port(s) in the specified range...
Hi,
this is Suse Professional 9.2 and Oracle 10.1.0.3.
When we try to start emca to configure the enterprise manager manually, we get the error message:
SEVERE: Failed to allocate port(s) in the specified range for the following process(es): JMS [5540-5559],RMI [5520-5539],Database Control [5500-5519],EM agent [1830-1849]
But those ports are not in use...
Anyone experienced the same thing?

HelmutHi,
I'm joining this thread late as I've just encountered the same problem.
None of the ports specified in the error message are in the etc/services file, and none of them are in use according to netstat either. sysctl.conf and ip_local_port_range are both correct too.
SEVERE: Failed to allocate port(s) in the specified range for the following process(es): JMS [5540-5559],RMI [5520-5539],Database Control [5500-5519],EM agent [1830-1849]
Werner Puschitz has something about this on his Suse installation page in the Troubleshooting section (http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle10gOnSUSE.shtml ) , but is does not seem to have got into his Red Hat page:
The problem is that ports listed in /etc/services are discounted.
The workaround is to specify the ports manually, see emca -h.
Use the following options and use the port ranges as specified in the above error message:
emca -RMI_PORT <port> -JMS_PORT <port> -AGENT_PORT <port> -DBCONSOLE_HTTP_PORT <port>
so it may be worth giving that a try. -
ORA-04031: unable to allocate 128 bytes of shared memory
Hi,
experts i need your advice here,
in my application we have on so called Master view which has 550 columns, this view is left outer join with 60 other views, something like
select c1
from master_view
left outer join v1 on --
left outer join v2 on --
left outer join v60 the compilation of the master view takes around 140 secs, but when i give grants to other users, or i re compile again, it shows me the error
ORA-04031: unable to allocate 128 bytes of shared memory plz assist me how i should resolve this issue,
Regards
nicHi billy,
your idea worked big big time,
i encaspulated all the outer joins views in small small views and finally build mv on each views,
the master view is plain equijoin, and has only 5 new mvs in its join condition,
the performance is increased tremendously,
thanks,
some times i wonder y i dont get such ides ;-);
all and all i can say,
good judgement comes from good experience, but good experience comes from bad judgement...

Oracle 11g install failure, error, Failed to allocate port(s)
I'm having a very hard time reinstalling Oracle 11gR1 x64 bit after the hard drive where I first installed it failed and had to be replaced. The database I'm trying to setup is for personal use on this system only. I'm running Windows XP professional 64 bit edition and have .net framework version 1.1.4322.573 installed.
During installation the process hangs at the Database Configuration Assistant stage and will not progress till I manually end the lsnrctl.exe process in taskmanager. During the completing database process at the end I get this error -
SEVERE: Failed to allocate port(s) in the specified range(s) for the following process(es): JMS [5540-5559],RMI [5520-5539],Database Control [5500-5519],EM Agent [3938] | [1830-1849]
My first thoughts were the ports in question were in use or closed but I've been using both netbios and a port monitor program called currports to check and as far as I can tell the ports listed are open and not in use.
I did reconfigure the tnsnames.ora and listener.ora files to include valid port addresses (1521) and I can get the lsnrctl.exe to start manually now but still can't connect to the database using an open SQL command prompt.
I also tried running the emca.bat but still no change. I need help, I'm beating my head against the wall now.
Here are my etc/hosts, etc/services, and emconfig.log files

" Server Error [2009]: Failed to allocate resources for results data" IR Error
Hi,
We recently moved form 9.3.3. to 11.1.2.3 and we run only IR and SQR reports. When we run few IR reports we get the below error.
"Script(x):uncaught exception: Server Error [2009]: Failed to allocate resources for results data."
Any thought on what could be the cause. I changed the DSA setting, HTTP config settings for timeouts. I followed a oracle Knowledge base document to make sure I'm setting the right parameters still it doesn't work.
Any advise will be appreciated.
Thank you.Hi,
Can you please try to increase the timeout settings for workspace and check the issue.
You can refer following KM article for more information :
Hyperion Interactive Reporting (IR) When Processing a BQY in Web Client and iHTML Error: "Server Error [2009] Failed To Allocate Resources To Results Data" [ID 1089121.1]
To try in 11.1.2.x check these settings in workspace :
Please go to Navigate -> Administer -> Reporting and Analysis -> Web Applications -> Right click on RA_FRAMEWORK_LWA and select Properties. A
Window pops up. In that, go to Applications tab and then go to Data Access Servlet. There are two values there
i) Hyperion Intelligence Client Polling Time(seconds) => Set this to zero
ii) DAS Response Timeout => Set this to 3600
Restart the R&A services and WebApp after this change.
Hope this information helps.
regards,
Harish. -
Hi
I have a stored procedure that uses the XMLQuery function (SELECT XMLQuery( '......' RETURNING CONTENT) FROM dual; ) to extract data from 3 different tables and store the xml file in XML DB. This store procedure was running fine for a long time until 2 weeks ago where I started seeing the following error:
Database Error: DBD::Oracle::db do failed: ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 92 bytes (koh dur heap d,qmxtkWriteXobToOpn:heap)
Currently I have 16,000 records. I am not sure what is going on, the size of the previous successful output xml file is about 2M. I also noticed when the stored procedure runs with 3G of system memory available, it basically used up all the memory and cpu time. The store proc consistently dies after 3.5 hour and spits out the ORA-04030 out of process memory error.
Does anyone have any suggestion what to look for or what parameters I need to set? ThanksUnless your database is strictly a DSS-type of database, your AWR report exposes loads of issues with it. And I think none of the time during the AWR window was spent on database. Look at the DB time (with all those multi cores) compared with the elapsed time of the AWR.
As you are on 11g, why not make use of MEMORY_TARGET (a single parameter to manage both SGA and PGA)? If you are already on it, ignore this as I can't see it anywhere. If not, get rid of SGA_TARGET and PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET and replace it with a single MEMORY_TARGET parameter. However you may have a minimum threshold set for different SGA pools so that they won't shrink beyond that point.
Having said that, setting MEMORY_TARGET is not a guarantee to avoid ORA-4030. Just a single bad PL/SQL code could go and exploit the untunable part of your process memory and even go and blow up the physical memory. If you are using FORALL and BULK load, see if you can cut it down into few chunks rather than running as a single process.
What does your V$PGASTAT say? -
Streams Capture Error: ORA-01333: failed to establish Logminer Dictionary
I get the following error:
ORA-01333: failed to establish Logminer Dictionary ORA-01304: subordinate process error. Check alert and trace logs ORA-29900: operator binding does not exist
when the capture process is started. I am trying to get[b] schema to schema replication going within a Database. I have tried a few different scripts to get this replication going for the EMPLOYEES table from a HR to HR2 schemas which are identical.
One of the scripts I used is given below.
If anyone could point out what could be possibly wrong? or what parameter is not set it would be greatly appreciated. The database is Oracle 11g running in ARCHIVELOG Mode.

Any suggestions? From what I can understand from the Alert logs and the trace is that some how the Oracle is not able to allocate new log and also it cannot load library SYS.XMLSEQUENCEFROMXMLTYPE.
I logged into the EM and tried to log for issues, under the recovery settings it showed 100% of the allocated space being used for the ARCHIVE_LOGS. I'm trying to change that and restart the database server and see if I can get it to work.
Here are some of the extracts from the alert log:

PLEASE HELP!
My Lenovo SL500 is not working at all - I get error: "Windows Vista failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause"
I tried the following on my Lenovo:
Windows repair menu = "windows cannot be repaired"
Lenovo Rescue and Repair
Rescued my files from Hard-drive (copied to external hdd)
Restore System = Failed
Diagnose hardware = HDD passes all tests
Don't know what else to do with = Boot from another device ? Access BIOS?
Because I do not have the windows vista install disks
I purchased and downloaded the recovery disks from neosmart.net
The neosmart windows vista recovery disks DO NOT WORK = Error is "Unable to find any valid Windows partitions on this computer".
The Hard-drive exists because I was able to back-up files from HD through (Lenovo Rescue & Recovery Rescue files). So there is a hard-drive.
I don't know what to do next?
Last resort is to Factory Restore via either the Lenovo R&R or Windows Vista Recovery Disks (neosmart)?
Will I still have windows?
PLEASE HELP!Hi, Josemne
Yes, if you can restore the system through Rescue & Recovery, then you will still have WIndows on your machine, but all your files will be deleted from the hard drive. Luckily, you have already saved those files elsewhere. I would recommend trying to restore the system and see if that works.
Best,
Adam

Creating new Data Source Error - Database connection Failed
Successfully installed and configured 11.1.1.3.0. Planning and Essbase dev.
Went to Workspace > Administer > Classing Planning Administration > Manage Data Sources > Create Data Source.
Entered all info about the application database , etc. Getting error "The database connection failed" (I was able to connect with no problem during the install)
SQL server 2005 is on the same physical server.
The diagnostic tool shows database connection passed for planning. A new database was created for the new application.
The server event viewer shows these errors.
"Login failed for user 'xxx-hyperion'. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection."
Group Policy Error "The client-side extension could not apply computer policy settings for 'Default Domain Policy {xxx}' because it failed with error code '0x80070003 The system cannot find the path specified.' See trace file for more details. "
The Group Policy client-side extension Group Policy Services failed to execute. Please look for any errors reported earlier by that extension.
Any help is appreciated.Datasource for the application.
I have created a sql db for this planning application (my datasource). See my first message for more details.
When you create a new planning application, you need to associate it with a data source. Since this is a new install, I don't have any data sources available yet.
So, "To create, edit or delete data sources, click Manage Data Source."
This page lets you validate your connection to the database and essbase server. My essbase server connection validates! The database connection does not validate after I enter all the relevant information.

Thanks!Hi Ychinnari,
I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, as
Vaishu00547 mentioned that the issue can be caused by the Execution Account you have configured in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager is not correct, Please update the Username and Password and restart the reporting services.
Please also find more details information about when to use the execution account, if possible, please also not specify this account:
This account is used under special circumstances when other sources of credentials are not available:
When the report server connects to a data source that does not require credentials. Examples of data sources that might not require credentials include XML documents and some client-side database applications.
When the report server connects to another server to retrieve external image files or other resources that are referenced in a report.
Execution Account (SSRS Native Mode)
If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.
