Crystal Report Print Preview presenting users with Database Login

Issue
A user amended a crystal report form, on doing so has now made that Form unavailable to the majority of users to Print or Preview this is in 8.8 PL10. All other users on Previewing are presented with a window Database Login, but this only presents the server name, Database name is blank and greyed out and then there is only Login ID and Password available. If you enter in the database password a message appears stating failed login.
We have access to the SAP server and logged in and get the same message! but on the users machine who amended the Form they can print? any suggestions greatly appreciated

Hi Roger,
The problem sounds similar to what I've had recently, it was resolved by changing the database connection type to SAP Business One in Crystal Reports 2008, I can confirm that using OLE DB or other will still cause the login issue on other machines off the SQL server, the SAP Business one connection solves the issue.
I was fighting with this for hours, hope this helps you all.

Crystal Reports print preview problem

The problem is that print preview of a report using crystal Report dotnet Print Preview is making u201Cblank signsu201D inside words. The blank signs occurs near Swedish special signs like u201Cåu201D, u201Cäu201D and u201Cöu201D. Also near u201C.u201D (dot). Maybe there are more signs making this problem.
The problem occurs for those who have .NetRuntime, or a full installation of Crystal Reports
The problem started when we installed Crystal Reports 12. In earlier versions we had no problem with this.
It feels like Crystal Report have some bug in the u201Ctext rendering engineu201D. This is obviously a problem when a customer previews a text before printing it. This preview should look like the printout. Even if the room between two letters not is a space, there still is a room that is interpreted as a space by a human.
However, if we zoom to larger % (200%) the preivew is matching the report.

How to remove suppressed items in the group tree from the crystal report print preview screen

I am removing items in report using group selection formula. Although the removed items are not available in the report, they are still available in the group navigation tree on the left pane. Is there a way to overcome this ?

Print crystal report without preview

Dear All,
i want print crystal report without preview.
when i click print button i want show printer list install in that computer.
so user can choose which printer that use to print. I means like if we printing document from office, we can choose the printer.
how that i can do that?

Crystal Report Printing - A4 Issue

Hello Experts,
One of our customers use third party rental add-on with SAP B1. The add-on has cyrstal reports files. All these reports are set to letter size by default in report page setup. Client does not to print in A4 .
When the user clicks on Print Preview / Print Icon on rental order the , the report loads, but when sent to Printer for printing it becomes A4 (It should be letter).
The rental reports works fine on the SAP Server, meaning when sent to printer it goes as Letter size which is what we want but this does not happen at Client's machine's.
Also , i have an add-on running on my local machine and the reports prints in letter size with out any issue. I have been searching online regarding this issue but i haven't found any solution.
Can any one advise me on this issue. Is there any setting that i can do in crystal or printer ?

Is the default page size for the client's printer set at Letter or A4?

Failed to read data from report file : Reason: Crystal Reports: Print Engin

Hi,
When we try to migrate the crystal reports from BO R2 to BO R3, some of the reports are faling with the error:
Failed to create a new Report.Reason: Failed to read data from report file C:\DOCUME~1\xxxxx.rpt. Reason: Crystal Reports: Print Engine Error

Few quick checks to identify the cause -
1. Are you able to run report in your R2 system?
2. In XI3.1, check SIA running on which account.
3. Check the acount have sufficient rights on file system and registry.
4. What's your web server?
Give proper rights and import again. Hopefully it will resolve.

Where can I find pricing info for Crystal Report Server 2008 Named User License?
This is for an existing Crystal Report 2008 Server installation, which was initially licensed with CAL. The user would now like to add dedicated NUL clients.

Crystal Report Print Control install error

Hi,
I'm trying to manually install the crystal report print control active x file. After righ-clicking to install the printcontrol.inf file, i got the following error message; "The INF you selected does not support this method of installation" Any idea why I could not install?
I am running Windows Vista and have local admin rights.

See if that helps. Note that since you do not mention version of CR, the KB may not be specific to your version of CR, but it should point you in the right direction, no matter what the version.

In my application (oracle forms application developed in-house - We are using Oracle Forms 11gR2 with WebLogic 10.3.5 ), i want to use "application user" instead of database user.
I have an application users table, actually, i have database users,and of course, menu application works with database roles (It was developed with oracle forms menu module), my question is, How i can associate my application user with database role, for reusing oracle forms menu funcionality?. It's possible?

You can do this by assigning the role functionality to the application user. For example
create the table to enter user name.
create table to enter group name.
create table to assign user to group.
assign role to group.
assign functionality for the user by coding.

Crystal Reports: Print Engine Error when exporting a report

We recently upgraded from Crystal Reports 2008 to BusinessObjects Edge Series X3.1. When exporting a report to an excel data-only format we get "Crystal Reports: Print Engine Error". All other formats work fine. Any help is highly appreciated.

Is there a report in SCCM 2012 that shows the users with specific software installed? The report should show username, machine name and the software name. I am looking for a report that shows the users with the following softwares installed:
1. Adobe(all versions)
2. Photoshop(all versions)
3. MS Project(all versions)
4. MS Vision(all versions)

Take a look at the Asset Intelligence reports in the software section. You may get a list of computers with a product installed, and you might have to use that list to find the primary users based on user device affinity.

Some of the following is going to use some technical terms — this area is inherently somewhat technical.
If you don't understand some part of the following reply, please ask.
Is this your own OS X Server system on your own network, or is this some other server within some larger organization?
You're posting this in the OS X Server forum, which is a software package that allows OS X systems to provide web-based and many other services; to become servers.
If it's your OS X Server on your network, then the network and DNS configurations are suspect, or the server is somehow malfunctioning or misconfigured. This is unfortunately fairly common, as some folks do try to avoid setting up DNS services.
If it's a larger organization and somebody else is managing the server and the network, then you'll probably need to contact the IT folks for assistance; to learn the network setup and DNS requirements, and if there's a problem with the server itself.
The basic web URL "hyper link IP address path" — without using DNS — usually looks something the following, where you'll need to replace 10.20.30.40 with the IP address of your server:

UptimeJeff has posted a URL that specifies the AFP file system; an OS X file share. That's used if you're connecting to an Apple storage service somewhere on your network. You might alternatively need to specify smb://10.20.30.40 or such, if it's a Windows file server. (There can be additional requirements for connecting to Windows Server systems, too.)
If there's local IT staff available here, please contact them for assistance. If these are your own local systems and your own local OS X Server system, then some information on the server will be needed. (If you're on a NAT'd network, you'll also need to get DNS services configured and working on your local OS X Server system and your network — you'll not be able to skip this step and reference ISP DNS servers here — or things can and usually will get weird.)
