Crystal using parameter from universe
When creating parameter in a Crystal report using a universe the LOV becomes static. This is a weak limitation in the tool. Has anyone found a work around so that the parameter is dynamic as it was intended and the parameter LOV is refreshed each time the report is executed?
Hi Patrick,
Universe-based Crystal reports in BusinessObjects Enterprise XI and XI Release 2 can have dynamic parameters based on Universe list-of-values (LOV) objects. Crystal Reports only refreshes Universe LOV objects when the Universe is changed.
The two new methods for causing a LOV object to be refreshed in Crystal Reports are:
1. Refresh at every use. This simple option ensures the LOV presented to users is always up-to-date when viewing a report object. It doesnu2019t apply to scheduling, so this option doesnu2019t help when viewing instances of scheduled reports.
2. A new BusinessObjects SDK option has been introduced, allowing developers to write scripts or applications to control when LOV objects are updated. Applications can be triggered or scheduled in the BusinessObjects environment in a number of ways. Sample code is provided, showing how a group of reports might be scheduled to be updated.
Refreshing Universe LOV Objects
To ensure the Universe prompt is refreshed before each use, be sure to edit the object properties in the Universe Designer and set the Automatic refresh before use option.
Step:-
Right click the object.
Select the Properties tab.
Enable the Automatic refresh before use option
Crystal Reports will also update cached LOV objects when the report query is edited in the Crystal Reports Universe query panel.
I hope this information helps you.
Regards,
Prashant.

Regarding Crystal report parameter from and to.
hi.
I am having one requirement ie.
Normally we are giving..i.e
We are using parameter in Sap b1 like Docentry
Based on this one Docentry the data will fetch from the data base and it will shows into the sap crystal reprot
suppose Ex Docentry = 3 then it will show the data.. then
but ring now what i nee dis Docentry from and to
fromdocentry = 1
todocentry = 5
so, 1,2,3,4,5 five documents should be generate one by one in crystal report in single crystal report not 5 pdf files single pdf should have 5 doc entries
Is it possible how can i do it.
how can i do it...Hi
I think it is not possible from Crystal Report but below discussion indicates it is possible through some Crystal Report SDK tool.

Error creating Crystal Report using Stored Proc Universe
Hi,
I have created a stored procedure Universe, using the new feature available in XI R3.
This connects to an Oracle database, executing a PL/SQL procedure returning ref cursor.
I have created a WebI report using this Universe, which works fine and functions as expected.
So there are no problems with either my Oracle stored proc or the Universe.
However, I would like to create a Crystal report (2008) using the same Universe.
I can create the report ok - using the SP Universe.
When I attempt to refresh the data I get an error:
Failed to retrieve data from the database.

Problem passing parameter to crystal report subreport from *.aspx page
Background:
I am developing a .NET web application using Visual Studio 2005. The code behind is in VB.net. One of my asp.net pages calls a report, which is invoked when the user clicks a Print button. I have developed this report using the Crystal Reports software that is bundled with Visual Studio 2005. I am passing one parameter from the asp.net page (utilizing the VB.net code-behind on the Print button) to the Crystal report. The report consists of a main report and 5 subreports. Both the main report and the subreports use the same parameter. Both the main report and the subreports are bound to stored procedures, each of which require a parameter.
Problem:
For some reason, the parameter is not being passed from the asp.net page to the report. I am receiving the following error: "CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ParameterField.CurrentValueException: Missing Parameter Values." However, when I remove the subreports, the parameter gets passed, and the report is invoked with no problem.
I have read in other forums that there may be an issue with the Crystal Reports software that is causing this problem. I have downloaded and run the suggested hotfix, but the problem remains unresolved. I have tried changing the linking of my main report to the subreport, but that doesn't help either. It is possible that I am doing something wrong with the linking, as this is the first time I have developed a report with Crystal Reports. I need a workaround or definitive solution. Below is the aspx code used to call the report:

How to pass parameter from 1 stored procedure to another stored procedure inside crystal report
Hi
I have several stored procedure in my Crystal Report. I am wondering if it is possible for me to pass a parameter to one of the stored procedure and to use the result of that stored procedure E.g. CustomerCode. To another 2 stored procedure to generate the report dynamically?
I have 3 stored procedure
The 1st one is used to gather information and process the calculation
another 2 stored procedure is used for generate the graph and both of them required to take 2 parameters. The 1st stored procedure will require 1 parameter (E.G. Reference Code) and will return a set of information including the data that could be use on the other 2 stored procedures.
After I added these 2 stored procedure, it requires me to pass 3 parameters to the report. I would like to know if I could only pass the Reference Code for stored procedure 1 and use it to retrieve the information for the other 2 parameter?
Thanks in advance
ChiHi Chi
To pass parameter from 1 stored procedure to another stored procedure, you will have to create sub report. In your case you will have to create 2 sub reports for 2nd and 3rd stored procedure and link those sub reports with the main report using Reference Code field in order to pass the values.
After creating the report when you will refresh the report, it will ask 4 parameters, one parameter for main report, one for the first subreport and two for second subreport to fetch the data correctly.

How to get the parameter from Java Script into the Parameter crystal Report
Hi All,
Crystal Report is integrated with Oracle 10g. I created the base SQL query for col1, col2, col3 and col4. Java Script pass parameter value (185) to Col1.
My question is how to create crystal report to make Col1 as parameter and how to get the parameter value 185(Col1) from Java Script. Is there any additional code I need to include in the crystal report?
FYI.
Java script sends the right parameter value. There is no issue in java script.
This is an automatic scheduled process when batch runs, Java script should pass the parameter value and the crystal report should get the value and produce the output report. Not sure if this is an application question or if you are trying to hook into Crystal Reports parameter UI? If the later then no option other than report design. If an application then I can move this to the Java Forums.
If you are asking how to alter the parameters I suggest you remove the Java reference and post a new question so it's not confusing the issue.

How to use Results from Another Query for SAP BW universes
Hi Everyone,
I have two SAP BI universes. In my First universe I have Sales Doc no (dimension) and Orderqty (Measure) and in my second universe I have Sales Doc no(Dimension) and BillQty (Measure).
Here in my first dataprovider I have 1200 rows of data and in second dataprovider I have 75,000 rows. The report should fetch only the BillQty details that matches to corresponding Sales doc no in first data provider.
I want to place all these fileds into a single report like as shown.
(Datarpovider1) (Datarpovider1) (Datarpovider2)
*Sales Doc No* Orderqty BillQty
Here I am able to generate single report using merge dimension but it is leading to performance issues. I want to restrict the values at query level by passing the First dataprovider Sales doc no to second Data provider Sales doc number using Results from Anothery Query feature so that It can fetch only the matching records.
I tried it but it was giving the follwing error:
A filter contains a wrong value. You cannot run this query. (Error: WIS 00007)
How Can I get rid of this error. Can we use Results from Anothery Query option for OLAP universe. Are there any limitation on it.
All this I am doing in Webi Rich Client.
Appreciate your help
Thanks &in Advance
Kiran SakaHi Kiran,
I think the filter has a wrong operand. For example, a filter with an empty constant, or a filter that deals with numeric values is defined with an alphanumeric value.Check out for this.

Can we use Result from another query in Webi using Bex uery universe?
Hi,
Can we use Result from another query filter option in Webi to create a report using a Bex Query universe?
I need to create a report using two universes, one is Bex Query Universe and the other is Orcle universe. I have two queries, one is using Oracle universe; the other using Bex Query universe. I need to pass the Oracle data from the Oracle query to the Bex Query query to get the matched data from SAP Bex query.
I used Result from another query in the query filter panel for the query using Bex query universe. But I got an error saying that 'A filter contains a wrong value. you cannot run this query. (Error: WIS 00007). The data used in the filter on both sides are the same. they are char.
I have tested by using two queries from the same Bex query universe to see if the Result from another query filter option works. And I got the same error.
Has anyone run into the same issue and if this is possible and what should be the solution?
Thanks in advance!
Edited by: BO_Haiyan on Oct 6, 2010 3:47 PMIn that situation:
Create two queries : Oracle and BW query.
@ Report:
As you have to see result set from both the Dataproviders, correct? To achieve thise one must have common dimension objects to merge them at report and use Objects those are coming from both queries to use them in single Table/Report.
Unless you don't use Merge Dimensions, you don't get a chane to use both queries objects in single Table/Report. (It will give tooltip saying: You can't drop here -- Incompatable Objects)
In case, if you don't have common dimensions, change object definitions to Detail objects, for those required.
Hope it helps you.

Call ITS SAP R3 from CRM WebClient using parameter NOHEADEROKCODE=1
Good day,
I need some help with an issue.
We want to hide the command field in the SAP GUI for HTML using parameter ~noHeaderOkCode.
But we want to hide it only when we access the R3 transactions from the CRM WebClient, not in the rest of uses of R3 ITS SAP GUI for HTML. The CRM WebClient launchs some transactions of SAP R3 inside its web, and we want users not to call another transactions there by using the command field.
I've been reading about alias and external alias, but not resolved our issue.
I'll appreciate any help.
Best regards,
MartinaHi Martina,
one option might be to create a ZWEBGUI service for your CRM WebClient. i.e A copy of the WEBGUI service with the parameter ~NOHEADEROKCODE1 set in its parameters section.
You could also then restrict access to the NEW service to your CRM Users.
See the WIKI:

Using queries from another universe in Webi; Functionality currently works in Deski
Post Author: ck1938
CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
I have a report in deski that was built using 2 queries and 2 universes. One query is from a calendar universe since there is no calendar information in the reporting universe. In deski I have the option of selecting the operand Select Query Results (All) and using the calendar universe to build a filter in the reporting uiverse that uses the results found in the calendar query to define a start date in the reporting query. I'm trying to automate the report in Webi but am having issues since the operand is not available. I only have the options for Constant, Values From List, Prompt, and Object. Object will only give me objects in the reporting universe. It apparently can't see the calendar universe query. I've tried writing some sql statements but have had no luck so far. Does anyone have any guidance they can offer.Post Author: ck1938
CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
You did get me thinking though. I found another reporting universe with a calendar component and the SQL from that universe has pointed me in the right direction here. I just replaced the manually input date in the sql for the query (2008-5-29 00:00:00) with trunc(sysdate) and the report ran without any manual intervention. Thanks for your help. -
Search Results web part - Custom Query using "Value with a parameter from URL" inconsistent
I have encountered what I think may be a bug, but I am hoping that there is something that I am missing.
Within my search site, I have created a new search results page where I want to customize the "Search Results" web part query. I can add in any number of property and keyword filters (using the "Build Your Query" dialog) without
issue... until I add a filter that uses the QueryString property (the builder dialog calls this "Value with a parameter from URL").
If I use {QueryString.MyParameterX} for filtering, it works beautifully in the query builder dialog. I see the expected results in the search results preview pane, but as soon as I apply the changes things become inconsistent.
If I close/reopen my browser and navigate to my page at http://myaddress/search/Pages/testresults.aspx?MyParameterX=test I see results. If I then refresh the page, I get a "Nothing here matches your search" message. I can then go to
the same address but change one character to an uppercase character and get results. Refreshing that same page again returns "Nothing here matches your search". I can only get search results one time per uniquely cased URL without having
to close/reopen my browser. This behavior was seen on both Firefox and IE.
Finally, I found that if I instead navigate to http://myaddress/search/testresults?MyParameterX=test, it always returns results. This, unfortunately isn't the best solution for me... but it is a solution.
Any insight that anyone can provide is greatly appreciated! I would really like to be able to depend on this working in all logical cases (especially since the search center of other sites is set using the path all the way down to /Pages).
Thanks!Hi, have you been able to solve this issue? I'm getting the same issue and I cant solve it (required CU is installed).

Use exported parameter from message mapping (via UDF) in next mapping prog
Is there any chance to assign an exported parameter from one message mapping to another mapping program within an operation mapping?
Hi,
Try using dynamic configuration
1. Set value in message mapping and
