CS 5.5 Install after Acrobat X

Hi,
I have installed CS 5.5 on a number of PCs but we are finding a number of them are coming up saying that they are trial versions even though the serial number was enterend correctly. I followed the process of creating a deployment with AAMEE and installed Acrobat X first then CS 5.5 then the exceptions. I entered the serial number in AAMEE to serialize it.
From my investigations I have discovered that if you run Acrobat X before you open any of the other CS software it seems to overwrite the licence information. If you open Photoshop first, for example, the product will activate fine and you can use Acrobat fine. The problem is I can't guarantee one of the CS products will be opened first and obviously users are opening Acrobat before other CS products.
I have tried using adobe_prtk.exe to serialize the suite again, but once Acrobat is opened Photoshop returns to the trial version again.
Has anybody got any idea what could be causing this?

I recall the previous version of creative suite (or I might be thinking of CS4) would pop up an error if you launch acrobat first, reminding you to launch another product first.
This is an on going issue as we have the CS machines sparodically going out of lease/being-upgraded and the users and helpdesk do not remember by the time they have the next until after it is broken generating more work.
Warning them with an error seemed a much better option than punishing them by breaking their software should they click the program with the desktop shortcut..

I have no idea why this could be, but I have recently installed Adobe CS4 Web Standard without Dreamweaver, then Dreamweaver CS5 edition on a clean install and as I was about to install Adobe Acrobat 8.1.0 from an installation CD I got this message:
"Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed. Setup will now terminate.
Thing is... I never installed Adobe Acrobat on this machine after the rebuilt, and I can't see it in the listing of my installed programs, so why do I get this message?
I would like to know, what can I do that Adobe Acrobat 8.1.0 continues with the install.
Are there applications in CS4 that send this false alarm of Acrobat already being on the machine?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you looked at the add/remove programs list to be sure there is no part of Acrobat there? You might use a registry cleaner (MS or CC typically) to clean out any related issues for Acrobat. I agree with you conclusion if AA has never been installed, but CS4 may have been the culprit in the installation process.

The system for update from version 9.0.0 does not work at all. "There are no updates" listed in the dialog.
Can you advise how I get my Adobo Acrobat 9 Standard (Version 9.0.0) could be updated to the same level as the computer had before the crash.

Adobe PDF 9.0 shows up under Printers and Scanners (Mac OS) after re-installing Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0

- recently re-installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 on my new Mac (OSX version 10.9.3)
- after re-installing Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 an icon called Adobe PDF 9.0 shows up under Printers and Scanners
- every single time I want to scan, my printer/scanner Brother automatically chooses Adobe PDF 9.0 as printer/scanner, although my printer/scanner Brother is set as standard printer/scanner
- did bring the issue under attention of Customer Service who directed me to this website

Hi Pieter,
Acrobat 9 has not been tested and is unsupported Mac Mavericks.
You might face compatibility issues with it.

Unable to open pdf after acrobat install

Have adobe reader installed, all working fine. Then installed adobe acrobat pro in order to use export to pdf capability. After some time, getting message not subscribed even though I paid for a subscription to use export pdf through acrobat.
I uninstalled acrobat from machine and contacted adobe who said the export to pdf facility in online and not something you install on a PC !!!
They talked me through using the export to pdf online and now I can't open any pdfs on my PC plus the no subscription messages still keep appearing !!!

If you have already purchased Acrobat then you need not use the Export pdf Online service.
You can use Acrobat to convert pdf to .doc / xlsx /ppt files and vice versa.

Do a backup.
Take notes of all account information or take screen shots. You may need to set the accounts up again. Quit Mail.
Copy the line below.
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Select Go/Go To Folder from the Finder menu bar. Paste the line into the window. You won’t see it.
Move the folder com.apple.mail to your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the contents.
Relaunch Mail and test. If the problem is solved, recreate any required Mail settings and import any emails you want to save from the folder on the desktop. If the problem remains, return the folder to where you got it replacing the one that is there.

You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after every update. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

now again restart you pc error will still come dont worry close it

adobe setup is not compatible and having issue in windows 64 bit
not only lenovo users samsung and hp users are also having same issue.

PDFMaker in Excel 2010 does not appear after installing Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard

I installed Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard for a user here at work on her computer with Windows XP and Office 2010 installed. She wanted the feature and/or plug-in that allows her to "Save as Adobe PDF" in Excel 2010 and then able to add/remove pages from a spreadsheet in Excel 2010 like this:

We saw this feature with someone who has Acrobat X Standard. Is this feature available in Acrobat 9? If so, how do we enable it? We updated Acrobat 9 and nothing showed up.

The PDFMaker function of Acrobat 9 is not compatible with Office 2010: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/compatible-web-browsers-pdfmaker-applications.html
You can use Acrobat 9 to create PDF files though by choosing File > Print within Excel and selecting the Adobe PDF printer.

Winword.exe process starts at startup after installing Adobe Acrobat X Standard

I installed Adobe Acrobat X Standard on a Dell Latitude D610 running Windows XP Service Pack 3. Every time the machine is started up, Winword.exe appears in the Processes tab of task manager using up to 100% of the CPU. Word itself does not open. If I cancel the Winword.exe process, CPU usage drops to more usual levels. Starting Word also pushes CPU usage up to 100%. This did not occur before Acrobat X was installed. I used System restore to restore to a point before Acrobat was installed and the problems with Word did not occur. Re-installed Acrobat X and the problems re-appeared. System restore back to a previous point and the problems disappeared. I am using Word 2000.
Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome.

I don't believe Acrobat X supports Word 2000. There could be some strange incompatibility. Since you have a bright and shiny Acrobat X, maybe its time to update Word and Windows, if for no other reason that the more modern versions are much more secure.

Can't send Excel 2007 File via Send To Email Option after Acrobat Install

Normally, you can send an Excel 2007 file via email to someone by going to the Send option on the Excel file menu and choosing "Email." This will email an actual copy of the Excel 2007 file. However, since installing Adobe Acrobat 9 pro on my computer, this option, as well as the option to send to XPS are gone -- the only email option I have on that menu is to convert the file to a PDF and email it.
It seems to me that Acrobat should ADD options to menus but not remove any! Does anyone know how I can get those missing options (especially the one to email the actual file itself) back? I've tried Googling up a solution, but to no avail so far.

I saw that MS support article when I was trying to solve this issue on my own, but the solutions it proposes won't work for me -- I can't set Outlook as my email client (this is a work computer and we use Lotus Notes) and I can't muck around in the registry (again, this is a work computer). I know I can attach the Excel via the attach command in the email client, but the main thing is I don't understand why Acrobat has removed that option from the Excel menu. Also, it removed the Send to XPS option (which I don't really care about, but it bothers me because it shouldn't be deleting anything)!
I even tried adding the Email command to the Quick Access Toolbar in Excel -- it let me add the button, but, when I click it, absolutely nothing happens.

After install of Acrobat 9.0 - Where do I find the serial number?

When I installed my Acrobat 9.0 - it appeared to install correctly and I registered it. However, I wanted to find my serial number from the software itself...just to see if I was running the correct version. I can find the version, but I do not see my serial number anywhere on the 'about' AA software. I was used to this on my PC which was handy in case I ever misplaced the box/number...is this available somewhere I am not looking - or did I install something wrong?

If you registered the software you can find the serial number on your Adobe account.

Adobe does not support updating of administrative install points like Microsoft products. Each software update will need to be run after the original application has completed installation.

Ok, I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box. I'm distributing Elements 6.0 from a server and having user go to Start, Run and typing \\servername\project folder name\setup.exe but keep getting the error "Incorrect command line parameters. I'm trying different variations in the command line field in Tuner such as: setup.exe /s /v/qn What am I missing?

Installing Adobe Acrobat Pro - Error 1317 or 1310

Ok, this is a complicated back-story. Wasting third day trying to setup my old PC for my mom (new one coming tomorrow).
So first I did a clean XP install on one partition. Then through it installed windows 7 on second partition.
On the Win7 partition, first time I tried to installed Adobe Acrobat Professional I got an error during install. I think it was 1310. Then I decided to try to install Office 2003, got same error about 20% through. Very strange. I messed with some folder permissions, ran as administrator, even tried creating an administrator account and installing in there, same result.
Then I decided to re-install everything again from scratch. Formatted the disk, made new partitions, installed XP, installed Win7 Pro. Tried to install office 2003 first, that worked.
Then tried to install Acrobat 8 Pro again, error 1310. Then download Acrobat 9 Pro from Adobe to see if a newer version might do the trick. Similar error 1317, this on about attempting to create a directory in program files\adobe\acrobat9.0\designer8.2\de\templates.
Interestingly, the story doesn't stop there. After one of these errors happens, I think it causes some sort of file system error. One time I got a baloon setup_wm (if I remember right) something about file system being corrupt and unstable. And if I try to open a browser after that things don't work. If I reboot, it runs chkdsk and everything seems fine after, but no matter what I try I can't get passed that error.
Any ideas?

I had a failure to install Acrobat Pro 8 on a windows 7 machine with several tries and failing with Error 1310 every time until I did this:
start->type uac in the run box then clik on "Change user account control settings" located at the top of the list
drag the slider all the way to the bottom, this turns UAC off
restart the computer
install your software and get any updates needed
the turn uac back on and restart
worked for me

Our Company recently upgraded our computers to Windows7, I need to re-install my Acrobat 9 Pro. I have my product ID. I just can't find an easy link through the Adobe page.
