CS5.5.1 update + latest intensity pro (8.6) driver not working properly together.

Heads up!
I installed the .1 update + the latest update from blackmagic and I lost all the sequence presets. I could still get audio but no presets available.
I had to revert to 5.5 and the BM 8.5.
Also when using the BM presets PPro constantly drops frames (always at the beginning I have to press the space bar twice to get it going)
Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

when I first put the machine together I ran test PPBM5 and Matrox mini max and the machine was very slow so I uninstalled all the Matrox goodies and for a while my machine was +- 8th on the PPBM5 charts. I did some reading and found that the BM Ultrastudio Pro USB3 was much better, so I purchased one and I redid the test and the machine was about 2 sec slower on the PPBM5 tests and that made me very happy and the machine worked well for a while until I started doing all the updates. (I did have some issues with certain things but nothing major and was told by BM support that they are working on it) My problem with CS5.5.1 and BM 8.6.1 is the same as you describe, time line freezing when trying to trim a clip and then you need to restart PR to get things working again and this was every few minutes. I did find in the past that the machine would get slower and slower with more effects you added and after a while I would need to restart PR and then all was great.
I have tried to preview using the GTX 480 but the only preset I can get is 1920 x 1080 30HZ and it looks bad as I am using 1920 x 1080 50I. I have also tried to use my second monitor (Samsung T260) and it also does not give the same quality as the BM with my Sony 32'' full HD.
How are you working?

Satellite Pro U200: VGA output not working properly when AC adapter was connected

When I'm working on battery and connect my notebook to external monitor it's ok, but when I connect AC adaptor then start waving also bluetooth and wlan does not work properly. In other case when I remove battery from notebook and connect AC adaptor it works properly.

As long as you use a CRT you should set the refresh rate new, at least 85Hz. Standard is 60Hz as far as I know, and that hurts in your eyes.
The wireless lan behaviour is quite normal as long as your not right next to the access point. On battery power the wireless lan card reduces its energy consumption thus the connection will be poor if you dont have a perfect signal. You can turn this off in the iNTEL Pro/SET wireless software, where you can configure the adaptor. Try to change the powersafe mode to manual and full power, this should solve your problem.

Update contacts feature in Facebook iOS 6 not working properly

I've been using the Update All Contacts feature in syncing my phonebook with Facebook. The feature worked for a time but it stopped and I'm not able to update my facebook friends in my Facebook. I tried manually syncing them by adding their @facebook.com emails or their contact numbers (whichever is visible in thier profile) but this has not solve the problem. I also tried resetting the feature by deleting the account on the Facebook integration feature and logging on again but it's still not working.
Any work arounds you can suggest? Thank you!

I'm convinced that this is a Facebook App problem. I'm using an iPhone 5 with iOS 6.1 and the latest version of the FB app. This happens on different WiFi networks and when I turn WiFi off and access FB via LTE. When I access my Timeline the last post I see is from January 24; soon afterwards I get the message "Network Error".
I have removed and reinstalled the app twice and removed my FB profile information from my phone. Each time I do this I reboot (not just power cycle) my phone. The same errors occur with each attempt.
I tried accessing FB using both Safari and Google Chrome on the iPhone 5; there are no errors reported and I can see my entire timeline. I'm losing the ability to "pull down to refresh" but I can get around that with one or two screen taps, so it's no great loss.
Also, as long as I have the FB app installed the iPhone intergration work fine - I just don't use the app.

MacBook Pro Trackpad Secondary Click not working properly - switching apps

I have a MacBook Pro 15" (new Core 2 Duo) with 10.4.8. On my main account, when I try and use the trackpad's two-finger-click to perform the secondary click functionality, I have a problem where instead of showing the secondary menu (same as control-click) it instead shows me the application switch screen (same as you see when entering command-tab).
I logged in under a new user account and enabled secondary click and it works properly -- so this appears to be either a conflict/issue in a plist (though I deleted the plist for mouse and keyboard and the issue still remains) or possibly with some other application/utility that is installed.
Without recreating my world one-by-one, any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions?

Update on the situation:
1) Reboot in Safe Mode (shift-key down at start-up) -- secondary click still shows the application switcher.
2) Ran Onyx -- Execute the defaults (no others) in the Automation tab and after rebooting the issue still persists.
3) I removed the Microsoft drivers from my system and all plist files -- and reinstalled the MS drivers. On first use of the right-button on the mouse, I got the same "secondary click" response that I get with the trackpad. Before the uninstall it had worked correctly. I remember looking at the MS Mouse config options and it showed the right button performing a control-click. Now, with the preferences at their defaults from the software removal and reinstallation, I see there is an option -- and it is the default option, that the right-mouse button performs a "secondary click".
So it isn't a trackpad or mouse issue, it is an issue that somehow the default system behavior for a secondary click has been changed from displaying the alternate menu to showing the application switcher.
So the question is, what application or utility changed that? I was evaluating the Apple Mighty Mouse a few months ago and decided against it -- the right sensor seemed to fail often. Did that have an option to modify the secondary-click? I have Google and searched for tersm like ["secondary click" setting change modification hack, etc] and haven't seen any mention of that ability -- but clearly on my machine under my main user account, this is happening.

After BIOS update numpad on my Satellite C850 is not working properly

My numpad started going crazy. All I can use are these "0.369*-+ home button end button PGUP and PGDN "
The numpad light is on and I cant turn it off. whenever I do this its like Im pressing the FN button and whenever I press numpad 1 it always type gibberish words when I press numpad 2 it does what F12 button does and so on for numpad 4,5,7,8
This all happen after I updated my BIOS and never has been a liquid spill on the keyboard.
Any insight about this freaking problem?

I cannot imagine that this issue could be related to the new BIOS version.
Maybe its a simple bad luck that this keyboard problem appeared after the BIOS update.
From my point of few, it looks like keyboard hardware malfunction.
But to confirm this diagnosis, you should try some workarounds.
*1st* workaround: First of all enter the BIOS and set it to default.
*2nd* workaround: disconnect AC adaptor, remove battery, press and hold power button 30 sec long. Finally connect both devices again.
*3nd* workaround: connect external USB keyboard and test the functionality.
In case the USB keyboard would work properly, the issue is related to internal keyboard fault.

Network card: e1000g (Intel PRO/1000 MT) did not working properly

I'm having some strange trouble.
All computers attached to one DLink gigabit switch
Server #1:
nf4-based motherboard, Intel PRO/1000 MT net card, onboard net card (forcedeth driver used) Ubuntu Linux 2.6.25 kernel version.
All just working.
Server #2:
nf6-based motherboard, same Intel net card, SunOS 5.11 snv_86.
All just working.
Server #3:
Same as server's #1 nf4-based motherboard. Same onboard card. Same SunOS 5.11 snv_86 as server #2 have installed.
Its work. BUT..
Intel card is not working as expected.
It is seen by system. It is properly up and running. It is sending packent and receiving packets. Ierrs=Oerrs=Collis=Queue=0.
But thru e1000g0 interface no one computer can reach this one, and from server #3 no one computer is seen thru e1000g0. Exept...
Except two old Sunray1 devices (attached to the same switch for testing purposes)! But even these devices seen only by arp requests, and is not pingable.
It is some mistery, but if I turn on jubmo frames, these rays got a picture from SRSS, testing on this sevrer! Not for long, heh, they hung up fast, but this is proof a physical connection :)
So, I can not disable onboard network card on Server #3 - server becoming unreachable :(
I know, those network cards must work on Solaris - as they did it on server #2. I know, those network cards work with my nf4-based motherboards - as they did it on server #1.
But I can't uderstand, whait is going on with e1000g driver on server #3!
P.S. Kernel driver e1000g settings are the same. All difference from servers #2 and #3 is: #2 had Intel netcard installed then Solaris was setting up, and #3 had Intel netcard installed later. All netcards are working (I trying to swap them from one computer to another - did not change anything).

*) #3 thinks it is sending, but a NIC/driver error prevents it.NIC is fully health. It is tested on another PC. Driver error - or driver's bad implementation - is the one I'm thinking.
*) #3 has a bad transmit pair of wires (would affect all communication)This patchcord works w/o problems on other PCs and even on onboard NIC of server #3.
*) Network problemsHeh :)
*) Firewall or other device is dropping the ARP repliesIt is some very stealthy and very selective firewall, affecting only external NICs :)
BTW, then cord is attached to NIC, it sends "who has this IP" requests, asking to be shure there will not be an IP conflict. No one seen this requests.
*) #1 has a NIC/driver error preventing it from seeing the reply.Only for send from #3? It is like a firewall on #3 :) And, there is more PCs, not only #1-#3. No one can see #3's replays (or asks), not only #1..
I'm repeating: this PC works in network now on onboard NIC w/o problems. But onboard NIC is only 100 Mb/s, and we need 1 Gb/s.
I was thinking, Solaris took wrong MAC for NICs - but not, ifconfig shows the same MACs as marked on NICs.
Even more, yesterday i plumbed e1000g1 - second Intel NIC in server #3. And I was surprised - it worked perfectly!
But I make "touch /reconfigure; init 6" - and after reboot, no one of two Intel NICs working again :( They both have the same behavior - no one can see packets they sends.)
I even try to restrict connection on 100 Mb/s by driver's .conf modify - it works, link become yellow instead of green (take a note, NIC is able to "speak" properly with switch!), but all other stay the same.
Strange, really strange behavior. More strange is a fact this NICs work on another instance of same SunOS, but on different motherboard, while the same MB with same NIC is working w/o problems under Ubuntu. Looks like some bug in Solaris driver.

With HP update for Maverick my photosmart C309A does not work properly

After the HP-update for Maverick my printer HP Photosmart C309A does not work correctly. The scan facility is gone and the printer "hangs" after one print. I had to reset the printer software from a backup and to disable the automatic installation facility on my IMac. Shortly, very very very nasty. I hope this is the way for Apple to change this update into a good one. There is no other way to communicate with Apple then through the Community. I wander if Yosemite gives the same problems with printers.

Satellite Pro A210 DVD Drive not working - error code 39

Hi All
My Satellite Pro A210 dvd drive is not loading.
When I looked into it it showed an error code 39.
I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but it's still not working.
Any ideas?

From my knowledge the error message 39 appears if the CD/DVD drive is not visible in the My Computer.
You can try this workaround:
Go to device manager and delete the CD/DVD drive from the device list.
Then go to registry (regedit) and remove the upper and lower filters from the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Then reboot the unit and test it again

Yosemite update to Mac pro keyboard and mouse not working anymore

Updated to Yosemite on my Mac pro, worked perfect for about 2 weeks then my keyboard and mouse stopped responding, both keyboard and mouse were replaced and still won't work. The computer turns on but won't respond to the USB mouse &Keyboard. Help

I have seen 2 out of the 6 mac pro's in my office do this. I am about to go to the apple store to show them.
When the computer is doing this I have tried using every wired apple keyboard in my office and none of them work. If I try the same keyboards on a windows computer or my macbook they work fine. If I use any non apple usb keyboard they work fine. My problem is if I turn the computer off for a few hours the usb apple keyboard works again so when the computer has been off all night and I pack it up to take it to applecare it is working by the time I get into the store.
I think there is a small flaw in usb port on the mac pro or the apple keyboard that when heated up from use stops the pins from contacting completely. It might be a manufacturing defect and it might be an unintended problem caused by how apple slightly modifies their USB ports.

My macbook pro's sound is not working properly. It flashes from normal to grey in the menu bar up top, and when greyed out I cannot do anything with it, and it sits at max.

In system preferences > sound > output, it will switch from normal internal speakers > built-in, to headphones > built-in, to digital out > built-in, to headphones > headphone port, to digital out > headphone port- it's nuts! This is all without having anything actually plugged into the headphone jack. While it is greyed out (which happens randomly and on any of the settings), there is no sound whatsoever and it says, "The selected device has no output controls.". Also coinciding with this, my computer has begun to suddenly run extremely slow and lags a lot. Is there a way to fix this? I already tried updating my computer, and restarting it, and it didn't help. I'm wondering if maybe the headphone jack somehow was shorted while I had some speakers plugged in for gaming...? Or is this something I need to send my computer in to be repaired for?
It was custom-ordered a few years ago, and unfortunately the warranty has expired. :/ Perfect timing.

I have this same issue and have been struggling with it for a while. I really just need to get it into Apple Store to be fixed most likely - but avoiding the hassle and time needed to do so.
Things I've come across:
Something inside of the headphone jack is not right, such that it randomly thinks headphones or some other type of optical audio device are plugged in. you will see a red light inside the jack occasionally when it happens.

Updated Safari 5.1 and private browsing not working properly

I updated my Safari 5.1 last week and was testing the different functions. When I go into private browsing it will keep some web pages private but not others, they show up on my history file/page. I can not find the "new" location for deleting cookies in the preference section. Is anyone else experiencing these problems?

I removed all website data, put my browser on privacy and it still records certain websites I visited and shows up on the history page. Is there a problem when I updated Safari last week. I didn't have this issue before the update.

Premiere Pro CS 4.0 not working properly on iMac

Hello,
I have done a clean install of Premeire on a new iMac. I have copied the folder I was using with my premiere project on my pc (on which I was using CS3), and pasted that entire folder in the iMac's desktop.
When I attempt to load the project, it comes up with "Saving project" and just sits there forever. Another time, it just showed the loading cursor and didn't do anything.
Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

There seems to be an issue with all MBP-R's and some USB 3 drives - either the drive isn't recognized at all, the drive is recognized but copies files at USB 2 speeds, or the drives will simply not read/write properly - the latter seems to be your case.
It seems to be an Apple problem with the USB 3 ports which will likely be fixed by a firmware/software update. If I were you, I'd certainly file a bug report with Apple. I would also call vendors such as LaCie and OWC to see if they have USB 3 drives that are actually working with the MBP-R.

Combo Drive not working properly - because of updates?

I'm getting similar problems like some of you: I can play and read CD-Rs with data and music but not DVDs. I have a MATSHITA CD-RW CW-8121. I was able to use the DVD player but after the recent updates (the OS and other programs like iTunes, etc) I found out that DVDs won't run anymore. I usually get the message window "Cannot recognize CD, please insert CD" or something along the lines.
Is it because of the updates? I will try to perform the Hardware diagnose CD that came with my powerbook (but not sure if it will read that CD!). Does it sound like I may need a new CD drive? Feedback would be much appreciated!

I'd expect them to replace the disc without question, or, at the very least confirm whether it's a disk or computer issue.

Sat Pro A60: ati2dvag display driver not working properly

help.... i know very little about computer and need to know what, how and where i can get a solution to this problem. It occurs more and more frequently now, it messes up the display and i have to restart only for it to happen again. i tried to down load bios 1.90 and will hope it works like some similar ports have said but what else can i do? any help from anyone would be so great
