CSS 11051: Sorry Server receives request although the normal server is up
Hello,
my customer has configured a sorry for his server. If the normal server is down the Sorry Server receives the requests. That works fine. But if the normal server comes back the Sorry Server still receives some requests( 2 hours and more). Has anybody an idea what might be the reason for that ?

According to: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/117/css_sorry_server.html After the CSS 11000 directs requests to a primary sorry server, the switch will continue to use the primary sorry server even when the original server becomes functional. To force the connection back to the original server, you must suspend the primary sorry server or wait until the connection is dropped or times out. When a new session is initiated by the CSS 11000, the connection should go back to the original server.

When I connect to the SharePoint site that contains the lists I need to build my query from , Power Query enumerates the list and displays them in the tool. I can click on the system tables and view the records but any table
in the list I created returns this error.
I can connect fine with InfoPath
[DataSource.Error] SharePoint: Request failed: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. (An error occurred while processing this request.)
thank you for your help
Andrew
Hi Andrew. In order for us diagnose this issue, you'll need to capture some network traces using a tool such as Fiddler and share them by sending a Frown.
To capture a trace using Fiddler, start Fiddler, enable the Tools > Fiddler Options > HTTPS > Decrypt HTTPS traffic option, start the capture, reproduce your issue, then stop and save the capture. You can find more information here.
Once you've done that, please send a Frown through the Power Query ribbon and attach the traces.
Thanks,

Excess time taken to schedule requests to the report server
I have a file which contains 10000 requests to be send to the report server. The total time taken by the report client to send the request to the report server is somewhere around 4 - 5 hours. Why does report client take so much time to schedule the request to the report server ????? How can i get around this problem, since the report execution doesn't start till the last request has been send since i am using schedule=<some_delay> and not schedule=NOW.

Seems to be a problem with your GUI as the dump MESSAGE_TYPE_X is generally related to GUI. Use some higher version of GUI than the existing one.
Also Updates are not active in your system. Use transaction SM13 to check whether updates are active or not. If not then use transaction SM14 to turn on the updates.

SLD server has stopped; start the SLD server in Administration
I am trying to configure Technical Systems in SLD (for deploying a webdynpro application which has models). Logged in as Administrator. I see this message when I login from the portal (https://host:port/sld):
"SLD server has stopped; start the SLD server in Administration." And all the links are greyed out.
When I log in to the Visual Admin, services->Sld->and tested the connection (with same ID as Administrator), I see "connection test failed CIMClientObject"
What ID, password should I be using for testing the connection for SLD in visual Admin. Or is this related to ID password at all.
Thanks
SrinivasThanks for the replies!
I still have the same problem.
When I select the SLD Data Supplier under services in Visual Admin, I see an error on the task bar at the bottom: SLD_Collector_Task
When I open this item, I see the following error message:
"2008.12.10@10:51:20: HTTP call failed: Failed to send HTTP data: 503 : Service Unavailable. Please check if the target SLD system is available and the SLD bridge is started there"
Is this something related to SLD configuration.
Thanks

When I try to print an address from Address Book on an envelope, the printer menu shows the menu from IPhoto. All other print requests show the normal pinter menu. How do get the normal print menu?
Mike,
Are any of your other applications going wonky, or is it just Logic?
I'm afraid I've never heard of this particular problem before, but if it were happening to me the first thing I would do is delete my "com.apple.logic.express.plist" file in Library>Preferences, then repair permissions in Disc Utility, and finally restart my computer. Then I would launch Logic and see if the problem has been corrected. It's amazing how much these two steps can accomplish.
If that doesn't resolve the issue I would launch Logic and go to Preferences>Audio Units Manager to see if all my plug-ins are properly validated. -
I would like to setup a new messaging service between my employees because we have issues with most online services. I'm thinking of getting a Mac Mini Server, so I can run Messages Server, but I have an employee outside my network. Can they login to the server remotely to use the Messages Server?
ThanksIf you're talking about setting up and using the Jabber messaging service provided by OS X server then yes, it's really easy to set up and use in and out of the office. The only trick it is, and also most other services, is a correct DNS setup so you're able to connect and use the server from the "outside".
I use this myself (via Lion server rather than Moutain Lion server) from behind a dynamic IP addressed ADSL line and have no problems whatsoever. -
Problem while sending/Receiving request using the HttpURLConnection obj
Hi,
We are facing the problem while passing the request in Weblogic.
Looks like there is some problem with Weblogic while sending/Receiving the request using the HttpURLConnection object.
Currently we are migrating 2 applications to WebLogic. Application1 to application2 request should pass.
Below is some example we tried:
"When we send a request to our code using the SSOAdaptor code (which handles the request/session in our application) which is on the SunOne server the request parameters are received by our code successfully. And also in Create User Functionality of application1 we are sending a request to webpass(which is on Sunone Server) using the HttpURLConnection object and the SOAP request is received successfully by the Webpass."
Looks like when we send request (using HttpURLConnection) from a server other than Weblogic to a servlet in a Weblogic the request parameters are received with out issues.
Where as when the request is sent from WebLogic to WebLogic the request parameters are missing some how.
Is there any issue in Weblogic? Please helpus on this.
Thanks,
Nagesh
Edited by: user9307541 on Mar 15, 2010 5:08 AMHi,
Please find below scenario for testing.
We have tested the SSOAdaptor code (it is the fucntion name which will send the data from source) locally by hittiing the WPS adaptor URL in a Java client program(TestRequest.java) and the request parameters were reaching the WPS Adapter successfully.
Then we have written two test servlets to test the communication between SSOAdaptor(TestServlet.java) and WPS adaptor(WPSServlet.java).
Functionality of TestSevlet: It is sending a request to WPSServelt similar to the way we are doing it in SSOAdaptor.
Functionality of WPSServlet: It will receive the request parameters and write the parameter Map to console.
We have deployed and these two servlets(in a single webapplication) on Tomcat server and the request parameters are reaching the WPSServlet successfully.
Output on Tomcat server:
before sending request
**********************Inside WPS Servlet -- the request Map is:{TypeAcc=[Ljava.lang.String;@14e3f41, ServiceName=[Ljava.lang.String;@1acd47, GMEPortalUserID=[Ljava.lang.String;@19b04e2, UserID=[Ljava.lang.String;@5dcec6, Country=[Ljava.lang.String;@b25b9d}
after sending request
After this we have deployed these two servlets (with in a single webapplication) on the Weblogic server in Dev machine(path: /apps/usmport/domains/usmport/servers/usmport_admin/upload/ssoAdaptor/WEB-INF/classes/com/gm/gmeportal/security/adaptor) and
now the request parameters are not reaching the WPSServlet.
Output on Weblogic Server:
before sending request
**********************Inside WPS Servlet -- the request Map is:{}
after sending request
Looks like there is some problem with Weblogic while sending/Receiving the request using the HttpURLConnection object.
When we send a request to WPSAdaptor using the Old SSOAdaptor code which is on the SunOne server the request parameters are received by WPS successfully. And also in Create User Functionality of Portal we are sending a request to webpass(which is on Sunone Server) using the HttpURLConnection object and the SOAP request is received successfully by the Webpass.
Looks like when we send request (using HttpURLConnection) from a server other than Weblogic to a servlet in a Weblogic the request parameters are received with out issues. Where as when the request is sent from weblogic to weblogic the request parameters are missing some how.

SMTP requests cause the directory server to allocate all processor resource
Using JES 2005Q1.
The problem started when adding mass number of users. When running the commadmin for a long time, the system will hang. We tuned the directory server by increasing the database, initialization and entry cache. I changed many other parameters to tune parameters. It was worthless.
I shifted to ldif and used ldapmodify to create those users.
The users were created successfully. But when the smtp traffic was directed to the server, the nslapd process will allocate 95% of the CPU in 5 minutes.
The problem is in the way the directory server is searched when it accepts an smtp request.
Knowing that the server is currently used only for Messaging Server, any suggestions on how to improve the performance of the directory?
Thanks in advance. The "lookthroughlimit" is set to -1.
I sent from a local user on the server to the same user and the log was this :

CSS 11500:Client ip-address visible to the real server
Is it possible to keep the original ip-address of the client when the the css is redirecting the traffic to the real server. customer needs the client ip-address on the real server for reporting.
regards
Dietrich SchleyerDietrich,
by default the CSS will keep the original client ip address.
To have the CSS changing the client ip, your customer must have configured a group with 'add destination service'.
Probably because your client is using a one-armed setup which is the easiest to implement but the worst to use.
So, your customer should go to a 2-sides CSS design and have the traffic flow through the CSS without the need to do client nat.
Once the design is correct, you can remove the group and the CSS will keep the client ip address.
Regards,
Gilles.

DNSreport says it can't connect to my mail server...although the mail works
When I run a test on my virtual domain at www.dnsreport.com I get the following FAILURE:
======
ERROR: I could not complete a connection to any of your mailservers!
mail.thermal3p.com: Timed out [Last data sent: RCPT TO: ]
If this is a timeout problem, note that the DNS report only waits about 40 seconds for responses, so your mail may work fine in this case but you will need to use testing tools specifically designed for such situations to be certain.
======
Mail is being received and sent via the virtualmailhost with only one known problem which is the reason I ran the report - one server keeps bouncing my outbound messages back with this vague error:
<[email protected]>: host
INBOUND.FILTER.THEPLANET.com[216.185.111.115] said: 550 Denied. S1 (in reply to RCPT TO command)
Here is the full report on my virtual domain:
http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=thermal3p.com
It would help if I could just narrow down wether it is a DNS record problem or a server setup problem. To me the server seems to be fine, but I also can't figure out what I've done wrong in the DNS setup. DNS records are hosted at GoDaddy.
THANKS,
KeithYour mail server is answering, but isn't answering
with its MX name in the DNS record:
Can I tell if that is a DNS issue or a Server issue?
It's your choice. Depends on what you want the mail server's name to be. One option would be to change your MX record in your DNS zone file so that the MX host name matches the name announced by your server. Another option would be to change the name announced by your server to match the MX record in your DNS zone file.
Reverse DNS is wrong (some servers won't accept
email from you unless reverse DNS matches the
HELO/EHLO name):
I believe this is why the one server is bouncing me.
The IT told me to check that. Now the problem is
that I don't know how to fix it.
That's why I posted the entire response for your reverse DNS query. Here it is again:
; <<>> DiG 9.3.2 <<>> -x 71.154.29.157 ptr

29.154.71.in-addr.arpa. 172800 IN NS ns2.pbi.net.</div>
The "Authority" for the 29.154.71.in-addr.arpa. subdomain are the nameservers at pbi.net. The person responsible for that nameserver needs to change the PTR record for 157.29.154.71.in-addr.arpa. from adsl-71-154-29-157.dsl.rcsntx.sbcglobal.net. to the name announced by your server (see above, first get the announced name to match your MX record).
Do you think I should be talking to my service
provider (sbcglobal.net) or the DNS host (godaddy) or
Myself (the hack that is responsible for setting up
the server)?
If you start talking to yourself, people wonder. Your service provider (sbcglobal.net) is the one that has to handle this.

My question is what the steps do I need to take to upgrade SSRS from 2005 SP2 to SP4. The web server that host the SSRS is in 2005 SP2, and the OS is in window 2003.
Our SSRS report server and report server database are in different servers. The SSRS in the web server is in 2005 SP2 enterprise edition, the report server database is in sql server 2005 SP4 enterprise edition.
To upgrade the SSRS in web server from 2005 sp2 to sp4, do I need to backup/restore the encryption key? Nothing will be changed in the report server database. We will still pointing to the same database in the current server, all
I wanted to do is performing a inplace upgrade of SSRS from 2005 SP2 to SP4.
Any response will be greate appreciated. Thank you!
Li-hui ChenHi Lihui Chen,
According to your description, you want to install the Services Pack 4 for SQL Server. Right?
In SQL Server, Services Packs are used for fixing issues of current version product. It's not an Upgrade, you don't have to backup/restore your encryption key. You just need to download the Service Pack 4 on:
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 4 RTM . Please make sure you have administrative rights on the computer to install SQL Server 2005 SP4. For more information, see links below:

Integrating Web server (eg Apache) with the application server
I am thinking a project in which I use more static HTML files than JSPs. One way is to use an Apache server to display those HTML files (it should be faster), and deploy the JSPs into the J2EE server; another way is just simple to change the web containers port to 80 (of the PE 8), and wrap all the files into a war file and deploy it into the application server.
So can someone advise my which way is better? And if I use the first one, Id like to know if it is the same way to integrate Apache with Tomcat.
Thank you very much!In the past there has been a belief that the Apache web server serves static content faster than tomcat. Site managers would configure apache to deliver static content and integrate a web container to handle the dynamic content. I believe this argument is losing steam as tomcat gets better. I guess the only way you will know for sure is to deploy your application in PE 8.0 and then in an apache/web container configuration and do some benchmarking. I have no such benchmark data to compare and I base my comments on what I have read in newsgroups over the past months. Personally, I would opt for the app server only setup just to ease configuration. Others may have a different opinion.

Hi,
a wired glitch in my SSIS 2005 package in production server where the FTP folder location is not showing but its existing in my laptop version
EX: - t01/app/_res folder
When i open the package from the production server "_res" is not showing within the remote path in the file transfer task.
but "_res" folder is shown in my development environment.
I tried with winscp FTP software in the production sever , and was able to access the "_res" location through the FTP software. What could this be? a BIDS sofitware version issue???
VS 2005 Version in development server
-Is 8.0.50727.42(Premier Partner ENU) .net framework is 4.5.1
VS 2005 Version in production server
-Is 8.0.50728 (Premier Partner ENU) .net framework is 2.0 Service pack 2.0
thanks. When you open the package on the production server, do you mean opening it with your Windows account from BIDS on that server? Ff the ftp connection in the package has a password it will have been stored in your laptop when you designed the package. when
you deployed the pacakge on the server as a file and open it with BIDS then the password will be gone. You would have to go into the package ftp connection properties, reassign your password and save the connection and the package again.

How do I tell Windows 7 to use the AMD Radeon HD 4850 for my OpenGL application?
