Css auto center issue

http://www.pmcgvideoportfolio.info/test.htm
I have been following a tutorial from Adobe relating to "Working with Background Images and CSS - Part 3 Altering the Appearance of Your pages with Drop Shadows."  I think I have stayed pretty close to the instructions until the last page where I wasn't sure if I was in the right place.
Basically, I've had this site up and running for a while, but I've been cheating by using a single image and linking everything to it.  Now I'm trying to get caught up and learn the CSS.  I have found that I'm more successful if I do small bits at a time, thus if you go into code you will see that I've done some very simple slicing (for now).  What I'm trying to do is get the base to automatically center in the browser, but no matter what I do it still wants to center in the middle of the page rather than automatically center in the browser.
So, if someone would be so kind, what am I doing wrong here? Or can you direct me to a good tutorial?
I've not set up any links on this page - it is a test page...
Hans and Nancy - it took me awhile to get to it, but I finally got this on the net for you.
Thanks in advance,
Ron
This is the CSS:
body {
    background-color: #ffffff;
    margin:0px;
    padding:0px;
.p {
    margin:0px;
    padding:0px;
    font-size: inherit;
    font-family: inherit;
    font-weight: inherit;
    text-align: inherit;
    color: inherit;
    line-height: inherit;
    vertical-align: top;
p {
    padding-top:0px;
    margin-top:0px;
img {
    border:0px;
div {
    margin:0px;
    padding:0px;
    font-family:verdana; font-size:12px;
.AbsWrap {
    width: 100%;
    position: relative;
.rowWrap {
    width: 100%;
.clearfloat {
    clear:both;
    height:0px;
a:link, a:visited{
    COLOR:inherit;
    text-decoration:inherit;
#background {
    background-color: #660000;
    width:1500px;
    padding-top:0px;
    height:1071px;
    position: absolute;
    left:0px;
    top:0px;
    margin-bottom:0px;
#Div {
    width:332px;
    padding-top:0px;
    height:203px;
    position: absolute;
    left:814px;
    top:181px;
    margin-bottom:0px;
#body_bg {
    position: absolute;
    left:0px;
    top:0px;
    width:50px;
    height:50px;
    margin-bottom:0px;
    background-image: url(body_bg.gif);
    overflow:hidden;
#wrapper_bg {
    position: absolute;
    left:406px;
    top:0px;
    width:661px;
    height:716px;
    margin-bottom:0px;

Please don't use Absolute positioning.  It is not a good primary layout method.
Instead, use default CSS positioning (which is no positioning).
To center a web page you need 3 things:
1) a valid document type -- DW does this for you when you create a new HTML page,
2) a container width in pixels, percentages or ems,
3) margin-left and margin-right of auto  (browser default).
CSS:
#wrapper {
width: 900px; /**adjust as req'd**/
margin:0 auto; /**centers on screen**/
text-align: center; /**for older browsers**/
HTML:
<body>
     <div id="wrapper">
           all your page content goes inside this wrapper division.
     </div>
</body>

  • Auto Goods Issue not taking place

    Hii All
    I hv Maintained backflush indictor in work center and in MRP2 view it is maintained as Workcenter
    decides whether to backfluch .
    But the auto goods issue is not taking place when the production order is saved and confirmed.
    The stock remains the same ..
    Can anybody tell the reason for that
    Regds
    Rakesh

    Hi Rakesh,
    what is the control key u have maintained in Routing?
    if u r using Control key PP01 - Routing/Ref. op. set - internal proc., then after Production Order confirmation u have to do MB31- Goods Receipt for Order, with movement type 101.
    If u r using PP03 Routing - in-house prod. auto. goods rct, then it accepts only single operation in a Routing (or) if u r having say more than one operations in a routing, then u have to give PP03 control key for the last operation.
    I think u got it...
    revert back if u have doubts.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Problem to auto-center VI

    Hi, I'm running a keypad program in Labview 5.0.  When I click the white arrow, the top bar and the scroll bars disappear to leave me only with the keypad.  This works perfectly, except that the keypad is not centered in the middle of the screen.  I have selected the auto-center option in the VI setup menu, but it doesn't seem to work.  I have to manually place the keypad with the scroll bars and then click the white arrow and hope that it is going to be centered.  The problem is that this is used with a small touchscreen and this isn't easy to do fine adjustments.
    Am I doing something wrong or is there an easy way to solve my problem without using programmation?
    Thanks.

    I don't remember ever seeing a problem with the auto-center option. You could post the VI. I can't run it in LabVIEW 5 though, since I haven't had that installed since about 10 years ago. The best I could do was to see if the problem exists in a later version of LabVIEW.

  • Should I spend the $280.00 to have Canon fix my 70D auto-focusing issue?

    Should I spend the $280.00 to have Canon fix my 70D auto-focusing issue? Or just return back to my very much trusted Rebels?

    Very much appreciate your taking time to send a response. As a new user I wasn't sure if anyone would bother. Allow me to add a little more to my first post. I fit in that niche between amateur and a person with clients. For over 10 years I have covered events for a non-profit agency capturing the look and feel of 20+ events per year and was given permission to purchase a few cameras over the year. My decision from the beginning was to use the Canon Rebel. Images were spot on and only once did I have an issue with one of them (after shooting outside events in 105 degree temps for 3 days).
    So, when I retired a year ago it was for me a pretty simple choice to get a Canon for myself - especially since at that time the 70D was on the cover of magazines and was very highly touted. I also did a lot of desktop publishing and photo editing which helped me realize I wanted the best sensor, sharpness, resolution and lens I could afford - the 70D. My post was actually a result of reading many online responses including your very informative replies about the 70D focusing issues. My biggest concern is that I will spend several hundred dollars and maybe, just maybe get back a camera which captures better focused images, but still not as sharp as the lower end Rebels I was using. I had hoped to purchase my first "L" lens and really get excited - not repair the most expensive camera I've bought to date.
    Thanks again and before it gets noted by someone...yes, I should have pushed this issue sooner and then at least the warranty would have covered the cost. An expensivve lesson learned. But I will have to add that at least one authorized Canon repair dealer told me they have had several folks feel like I did - that it was the photographer/me as a new user having the issue and not the camera. I now know it's my camera.
    Let me clarify that I don't own a 70D, so anything I say about it is from watching what others have said, mainly in this forum. But it is disconcerting to see so much complaint about a camera that's supposed to have an innovative focusing system. One is strongly tempted to suspect that they went overboard in trying to make the camera serve both still  photographers and videographers.
    That said, I'm not a great fan of the Rebel line, because they lack autofocus microadjustment and I have at least one otherwise excellent Canon lens that would be useless without it. (The 70D does have AFMA, a point in its favor.)
    As far as spending the $280 for the repair, I understand why it's a hard call. If I were in your shoes and were convinced that Canon understands the issue and would fix it correctly and permanently, I guess I'd go for it. If you don't think they do, but fell that you need something a cut above the Rebels, this may be a good time to buy a leftover or refurbished 7D. Even though I now have a 5D3, I still use my 7D's a fair amount and have been very happy with them. And the 7D2 has gotten such a favorable reception that's it's almost bound to make more 7D's available at a decent price.

  • URGENT NEED: Using Photoshop CC, is there a way to auto-center linked layers to a specific area on data merge?

    I'm looking for a way to auto-center a group of linked layers to a specific area after being data-merged in Photoshop CC. The text needs to be all left-justified within the area in question, so I'm looking for a way that once the merged data comes in, the layers automatically center themselves within the area.

    Yes.  For example do a select all or make a selection of the area.  Target the layer you want to align to that and use menu Layer>Align Layers to Selection>Location...
    Use this menu twice to align the layer(s) to one of the nine positions og a tick tack toe board are of the selection.
    Example center layer over center of the canvas
    Select All
    target top layer
    Layer>Align Layers to Selection>Vertical center...
    Layer>Align Layers to Selection>Horizontal center...
    If you select a group of layers that are linked I would expect the group's  layers center would be over the center of the canvas.  However I have not mad that test it would be easy to test try it. You may even only need to select the layer you want over the center all the linked layers should move with the one being aligned.
    But I do not know what you mean by a data merge. Do you mean merge down or merge layers.

  • CSS rounded border issue

    I've got a CSS rounded border issue. Safari (4.0.3) is drawing a slight white artifact on the rounded corners. Look at the comparison between the Safari screenshot and the Firefox (3.5.x) screenshot (look at the border on the Watch button):

    Do folks on the Apple Safari dev team read this site? If so, I'd appreciate it if they take a look at this issue.

    Are you doing this with CSS3 ? If your using CSS 3 you know it hasn't really been fully implemented in all browsers, (even if they say so). Even tho CSS 3 is out and running, I myself tend to shy away from stuff like round corners.
    No Apple won't see this.

  • Whether it is possible to make auto goods issue below safety stock level

    Hi SAP Gurus,
    I am implementing MRP for generating stock transfer Planned orders from a Main Mother Plant to different Plants. We have defined a Safety stock level for materials at main Plant level.
    There is a auto program available for generating auto goods issue against Purchase orders.
    System picks up Qty as long as unrestricted stock exists for the material during auto goods issue.
    System dont pick up any Qty below safety stock level (manual goods issue works below safety stock level).
    We are defining safety stock to meet sudden requirements and have time for new procurement.
    But it should allow us to do auto goods issue below safety stock level.
    Whether this is possible and what need to be done ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    R.Velmurugan.

    Hi Velmurugan,
    I don't think auto GR is a problem from safety stock. Auto Gr can be done by two ways.
    1. Control key and assigning the control key in operation(Preferably in last operation)
    2. In production scheduling profile you can do it. You have to assign the production scheduling profile in material master work scheduling view.
    Regards,
    Krishnendu.

  • Auto-Brightness Issue. It randomly worked, then stop working all together.

    Auto-Brightness Issue.
    It randomly worked before, now it's not giving off any brightness at all. Unfortunately it stopped coming on all together. I tried updating it Itunes and it comes back on but tried to restore my Ipod touch. After restoring it, it said "restore error -50" and the backlight STILL doesn't come on, not even a flicker. PLEASE HELP!!!

    Okay I tried to restore using iTunes and a little screen came up stating: An error occured while restoring this iPod (-50). I don't know what that means. It still ask do I want to continue to restore, but always gives me that same message. To make matters even worse, there is no Apple store in my town. The nearest is 3 hours away.

    In your style sheet:
    http://www.djdanmatthews.net/index.css
    Change this:
    #bannerxmedia {
    position: absolute;
    left: auto;
    top: 224px;
    z-index: 6;
    width: 729px;
    visibility: visible;
    right: auto;
    bottom: auto;
    background-position: center center;
    vertical-align: middle;
    To this:
    #bannerxmedia {
    width: 750px;
    margin: 0 auto;

  • Using CSS to center a website [subject edited by moderator]

    I took advice on centring my website. In my Wrapper/Container Div I made left/right Auto, and selected relative. It worked fine.Then for some unknown reason it left justified, not it right justifies. Support says it is an CSS issue. Anybody help?

    To center a web page, you need just 4 things:
    a valid doc type declaration on the first line of your HTML.  DW does this automatically when you create a new page from File > New...
    a stated width in px, % or em that is less than 100%.
    a margin-left and margin-right of auto.
    default CSS positioning which is static or none specified.
    Example CSS code:
    body {
         border: 1px solid red;
         width: 80%;
         margin: 0 auto;
         text-align:left;
    NOTE: This will not work with absolutely or fixed positioned elements.

  • Spry Menu Bar 2.0 auto-width issues for sub items

    I am testing the spry menu bar 2.0 and it displays perfectly in IE 9.0/8.0 but the auto width is not working for Firefox (testing 3.6.16), Chrome (testing 10.0.648.205), or Safari for windows.  Content is being driven by PHP and MySQL.  This is the first time I have come across something working better in IE than the other browsers.  Great job on the IE patch script.  How do I get the other browsers to cooperate?  I moved the in page CSS generated by the widget browser to it's own CSS (called spry_menubar2_horizontal_sample_layout.css) and am including the files below in the head.  The links below point to an exact copy of the files as the working copy of the files is located elsewhere.
    SpryMenuBasic.css - link
    SpryMenuBasicSkin.css - link
    spry_menubar2_horizontal_sample_layout.css - link

    SpryWidget.js - link
    SpryMenu.js - link
    SpryMenuBarKeyNavigationPlugin.js  - link

    the in page script is loacated directly under the <ul> lists.

  • Mac OS X Server 10.5.2 and Time Capsule - Auto-portmapping Issues

    Hi,
    So I recently installed Mac OS X Server 10.5.2 onto my Mac mini media center. During the "Standard Server" Setup Assistant, it detected my Time Capsule and asked for the TC's password to setup automatic portmapping. After getting things up and running, OS X Server apparently sends a refresh of the ports every hour to the TC, which also reboots it. Needless to say, this has caused huge issues in getting the first backup from all my Macs completed.
    I disabled the auto-portmapping by changing my TC's setup password. Now, OS X Server is hitting the TC with a auto-portmap request every MINUTE. This is rather annoying as it's essentially spamming my logs on both OS X Server and the TC. Anyone know how to turn this feature of OS X Server off?

    I can relate to this thread.
    Setup:
    I have a Macmini running OS 10.5.2 server and a TimeCapsule router connected to cable modem.
    I have two other machines that backup onto TimeCapsule via TimeMachine.
    Problem:
    My Macmini server backs-up with TimeMachine locally via USB drive, not to TimeCapsule... Yet I have the same problem. Which is: everytime the server runs TimeMachine, TimeCapsule router disconnects from the internet as the macmini "prepares" the directly connected USB drive. (orange light on front implies that it completely resets itself) It reconnects for the duration of the backup, then resets the router again during the "Preparing..." phase of backup.
    I believe the diagnosis implied by the original tread title is incorrect due to the fact that I have seen the same problem with port mapping completely disabled on the TimeCapsule router.
    Something else is going on when TimeCapsule goes through "Preparing..." that is the cause of the problem

  • Game Center issue with Apple ID

    My son suddenly cannot log in to Game Center. When he tries it tell him: "This Apple ID has not yet been used in Game Center. Tap Continue to set up your account." He has been using his Apple ID and Game Center account since Christmas 2011. He didn't log out but one of his games asked him if he wanted to log in and he tried and this happened, almost like his log in time expired
    We tried different games, same thing happens.
    We have tried turning it off and turning it back on.
    He doesn't want to lose all of the things he has on Game Center so creating a new account isn't an option. I searched for answers and have come across several people having similiar issues since 2010 but there hasn't been a single answer from anyone.
    If anyone has any ideas or experience with this and could help I would GREATLY appreciate it,
    Thank you for you time!

    Yes. I have tried that. When I use the ID I had before, it sets it up as a new account and I don't want to lose my stats attached to my old account.
    Let's say that my old nickname was "user10" and I used the email, "[email protected]" for my apple id. I changed my apple id to "[email protected]" and it changed my game center account to "mynew" and somehow I am friends with my old acct, "user10". I tried getting a password reset for "user10" but I apparently don't know my own birthday, which is possible because I usually give a false one, but the same false one each time.

  • Cost Center assign Profit Center Issues

    Hi Controlling Expert,
    i have one issues regarding, Cost Center assign to Profit Center
    wht happened , we have made MIS Report Thru Report Painter KE80, we have map based on   Primary Cost Element, at the time of Business Transaction, we have capture the Finance Cost center i.e FI000, Marketing Cost center i.e MK000 , HR Cost Center i,e HR000 and assign the same cost  center FI000 to Profit Center i.e FI000 also same name, respectively. in MIS report there is two Head  i.e Sustaining Cost and Development Cost ,where we have to capture only Cost center  for Sustaining Cost related  to display i.e FI000, MK000 and HR000. KE80 report belongs to Profit Center wise you can see the Report. But same FI000, MK000 and HR000 also updated related with business transaction and capture above cost center like in depreciation  GL Amount 1000 cost center FI000 and sustaining cost also updated the same amount 1000 because we have assign FI000, i.e wrong . last 3 months post the amount now wht should I do for not updated sustaining cost, as I understand , should be delete sustaining Cost as well Development, and later on we can take report from KSB1 for FI000, MK000 and HR000, for management purpose, so if I cannot assign profit center FI000 to Cost Center .kindly correct me whether ryt or wrong. Coz Fianance, HR cost and marketing is only cost center. not suppose to assigh profit center, in this case how Profit Center removed from Cost center. kindly let me knw, or give me other option.
    wen we see the report same Profit Center showing two times along with amount i.e wrong coz of Sustaining Cost we have assign Profit Center
    in this report particulars are Below
    Revenue  : Relevant GL ( At time of Business Transaction we have captured the Relevant Profit Center i.e Finished Product i.e R100: RA Tube
    and RA Tube R100 assign with same Cost Center R100.
    B.Material Cost : Relevant Primary Cost Element
    Manpower      : same like Above
    2.Energy            : same like Above
    3.Consumption   : same Like Above
    Conversion Cost (1+2+3)
    Sustaining Cost   : Here we have given Profit Center i.e FI000, MK000 and HR000 these profit center assign
    Development Cost : Here we have given profit Cente EN000
    Profit      (A-B-C-D-E-F)
    G.Depreciation : Relevant Primary  Primary Cost Element
    Financing Cost : Relevant Primary Cost Element
    I. Other Income/Loss : Relevant Primary Cost Element
    PBT : (F-G-H-I)
