CSS Daemon error !!

Hello ,
I am having problems connecting from RMAN to the database (Oracle 10.2.0.3 running on CRS , AIX 5.3).
When i am trying to connect it shows following errors.
pr:/u00/oracle/product/10.2.0/crs/bin%*> rman target /

ORACLE error from target database:
ORA-29701: unable to connect to Cluster Manager

== Then i checked CSSD which shows like below
pr://u00/oracle/product/10.2.0/crs/bin:/crsctl check crs
Failure 1 contacting CSS daemon
ON 08th Oct , system admin added one more port and i think they cloned from existing (PR) to (PR-dr) from Smitty.. I think that time CRS switched from PR to PR-dr while system admins changed back the configuration.

I think if i will stop the crs on this node while crs will be active on other node .. Will this work ?
Or can i use crsstart to restart cssd
Or i can use localconfig
Please help.
Thanks

Hi P explorer
Sorry for the late answer, may this work-around should help you out of that issue. it applies to Version: 10.1.0.2 to 10.2.0.4
Cause
The hidden directory '/var/tmp/.oracle' was removed while instances & the CRS stack were up and running. Typically this directory contains a number of "special" socket files that are used by local clients to connect via the IPC protocol (sqlnet) to various Oracle processes including the TNS listener, the CSS, CRS & EVM daemons or even the database instance. These files are created when the "listening" process starts.
Solution
The only way to re-create these special files is to restart (instance, listener, CRS). In a RAC environment this requires the shutdown & restart of the entire CRS stack.
As these special files are required to communicate with the various CRS daemons, it most likely will not be possible to stop (and restart) the CRS stack using the following commands as user root - but it won't hurt to try it anyway:
10gR1:
# /etc/init.d./init.crs stop
# /etc/init.d./init.crs start
10gR2:
# $ORA_CRS_HOME/bin/crsctl stop crs
# $ORA_CRS_HOME/bin/crsctl start crs
If the above fails to successfully stop the CRS stack, a system reboot will be inevitable.
As for deleting files from temporary directory via a cronjob:
the directory '/var/tmp/.oracle' (on some platform /tmp/.oracle) should be excluded from such jobs. The files in this directory on occupy a few bytes and generally do not need to be cleaned up.
A good practice for deleting files is to check if the file is still being opened by a process, most Unix platforms have a 'fuser' command which returns the process IDs of such processes.
Good luck.

  • Firefox pops up an error message on certain pages, all other browsers work fine, how can I make firefox ignore the "error" [e2219] css init error: ReferenceError: g is not defined

Basically I want to replace the Ajax Control Toolkit Slider in favor of the Component One Studio for iPhone Slider for better mobile/desktop consistency (the ajax slider doesn't work well with iPhone). I created a simple page that works on every browser and platform (iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows) except Firefox, which fails on every platform. I have already tried disabling all plugins (safe mode) and clearing cache, I have also tried this with different versions of Firefox on different platforms. I posted this error on the Component One forum but since this only occurs with Firefox I believe this is a Firefox issue.
I searched for this error on the forums and Google but didn’t get any results:
''[e2219] css init error: ReferenceError: g is not defined''
    The console has this message:
''[12:05:26.954] uncaught exception: [Exception... "prompt aborted by user" nsresult: "0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE)" location: "JS frame :: resource:///components/nsPrompter.js :: openTabPrompt :: line 462" data: no]''
You can see the error by visiting http://www.componentone.com/i/
Visit the same URL with IE, Chrome or Safari and there is no error. If I click [OK] the page loads normally enough for me. Is there some JavaScript or CSS line I can put in the page to make Firefox ignore the error? If so that would be great because even if there is a fix put into Firefox itself there will be those millions of users out there that will not upgrade.

  • Daemon error in solaris 11

    Hi guys,

    Thanks though.  Let me take this opportunity to ask you this;
Is there any material for troubleshooting solaris 11? I am just starting out, so it really gets confusing.
    Thank you
    I have no idea.
I have no recent hands-on familiarity with that sort of error.
You will need to wait and hope that others reply to any of your forum posts.
A quick Google search on "incoming_ra: SIOCSLIFLNKINFO" shows only three search results.
It shows your two forum posts and an old README of a build update from 2009 that mentions bug fixes in the old OpenIndiana project.   If that's any indication, then it may be a simple patch issue.
Again, wait and hope that others choose to respond.

  • Gethostbyname daemon.error

    Hi,
    I have done a Solaris 8 jumpstart install on a Netra X1 - successfully - i think...
I have found the following error in dmesg and /var/adm/messages
    <date> <hostname> /usr/lib/snmp/snmpdx: [ID 838575 daemon.error] unable to get my IP address:
    gethostbyname(tatiana) failed [h_errno: host not found(1)]
I also see this when I boot up at the console.
Can anyone tell me what this means and what this effects?
    Many Thanks

    Hi There,
    Step1
First check in Services Manager to see that OracleTNSNames service is running. If it is running go to Step 2. In not start it and then restart PSUB service and try to run a job.
    Step 2
Lets say you have installed OC in D drive.
    Go to D:\oracle\ora92\network\admin\tnsnames.ora
Open tnsnames.ora in notepad and check to see whats the "Service Name".
Make sure that the Startup parameters you are giving when starting PSUB contains SID which = Service name
For example service name is ocproddb then:
Start PSUB as RXCPROD with parameters:
    ocproddb 45 verbose D:\\opapps\\oc\\45
Let me know whether it helps.
    Best regards

    hi,
The rpc.cmsd is a calender/appointment scheduler service. It is enabled by default on Sun Solaris machines. It can be accessed through the "Calendar Manager" on the older Openwindows environment, or through the "Calender" program in the newer CDE environment.
i think it is harmless. you dont worry about it. you can try it to exit CDE , then what result is it ?

    Hi,
Suggest to check sub agent registration file in /etc/snmp/conf directory(with .reg exetention). Please verify if you have mentioned any port number in it. Check same not being used by any other agent or application. Also check "command" veriable in master agent resource file to invokes subagent. Most likely I feel it may be port clash issue.
You may also confirm that port you are using is not listed for some other application in /etc/services file.

    root console Fri Jan 25 13:58 - 13:59 (00:00)
There is no NTP service running on Domain B. We don't know why it got an xntpd error message and set the system time to 14:12.

    Thanks Darren.
I can confirm the xntpd was running before the daemon error, as we find a xntpd.cluster startup script in /etc/init.d which is using ntp.conf.cluster as the config file.
As the system clock suddenly changed to t+11431.990279s, the xntpd dump this daemon error message and then exit.
Now, I can focus on the clock jump issue. In domain A and B, we got the same issue at the same time.
At around 10:41 domain A changed to t+11431.990279s and B changed to t+(~11431s)
In the same day, at around 16:45, domain A changed to t-(~ 11431s) and B also changed to t-(~11431s)
We didn't work on domain B in that day. We only changed the /etc/system file in domain A, rebooted it and installed a database.

  • Daemon error while connecting:/@ocproddc

I am using Oracle Clinical version 4.5.0. OC back end is installed on Windows 2000.
PSUB batch job has hung with “ENTERED” status. Log file is showing following error:
    ERROR: Daemon error while connecting:/@ocproddc

    Hi There,

Could u help me please ?

    Best Regards,
    Bruno Petronio

    Hi Bruno,
If your software supports an encrypted access protocol such as SSH, Cisco recommends that you enable only that protocol and disable Telnet access when you want to use the SSH server. In order to enable the SSH Daemon (SSHD), you need an SSHD server license, which enables SSHD functionality on both the Standard and Enhanced versions of CSS software. Issue the sshd commands.
SSH version 1 support started in 4.01. SSH version 2 support started in 5.20.
Can you send me the output of
    # sh ver
    # show sshd version
    # show sshd config
All your questions are answered in the following documents :

We have added a couple of new partner functions in R3, which I want to send over to CRM.  I have figured enough out so that I can either create a new partner function or assign a standard partner function for the information that is coming from R3.
