Css issues, caused by spry?

I am having some real problems getting css to function
properly. It seems that if I try and edit the spry menu then my
other css page (for my font styles) is no longer connected when
published. To make matters more frustrating it works fine in
Dreamweaver, only when i view in browser or publish it to the web
are the styles no longer available. Any suggestions?
site : applesenglish.com example the titles at the top of the
page are supposed to be large and red....thanks
Tim

One place to start would be to change your class selectors
.h1 and .h3 to
tag selectors - and then change the p tags to h1's and h3's.
So, instead of
<p class="H1">Welcome to Mr. Apple's English
Academy</p>
you'd have:
<h1>Welcome to Mr. Apple's English Academy</h1>
I don't think the Spry CSS is interfering here.

    Hi
    I'm currently redoing an HTML website in CSS within
    Dreamweaver CS4 and
    picking it up as I go along. Yep another learner!
    It¹s at

    As I see it the Spry menu I¹ve created is shunted up to

    it¹s absolutely
    fine. Has IE 7 got issues with certain CSS inputs because
    I¹ve tried
    everything to get it to jump down.
    Thanks.

    I¹ve got around it by putting line spacing in above the

    sure there must be a better workaround.

  • ADA Fixes for Robohelp: Frames & CSS Issues

    Fellow Robohelpers:
    I am attempting to resolve a set of major issues within Robohelp 8
    a) Frames are not properly named in Robohelp 8. Is anyone aware with which files to change (post generation or pre-generation of outputs) to rename Frames so the visually impaired user is clearly informed which frame they are on
    b)When you disable CSS, the navigational elements (frames) become a jumble. They do not function correctly (TOC, Index, Search) since Robohelp is heavily CSS dependent and hides objects (text fields, the various left hand navigational elments) behind CSS.
    Any reccomendations how to resolve these, or insights as to how to make Adobe aware of this! I have been reaching out to them about this for quite some time! I am hoping capturing a workaround for at least a) will make the tool one step closer to ADA compliance (screen reader compliance)
    Thanks
    Yaseen

    Hi,
    I guess your output is WebHelp. First, try to create 'Section 508 compliant' output or pure HTML output. This may solve quite a bit of your problems.
    If you don't want that output, this is what I think:
    a) RH nests a lot of frames, but start looking at the launch file, the csh.htm file, whskinfrmset01.htm and whskin_frmset010.htm. Note that if you change the names of frames, this may cause some scripts to stop functioning...
    b) As for the CSS issues, the only way to make that work is to manually sort out all problems and amend the javascripts.
    If you want to let Adobe know your wish, use the wish form: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&product=38

  • Background image seems to be applied twice Can someone help with this CSS issue....

    Can someone help with this CSS issue....
    http://66.162.81.144/cms400min/default.aspx
    If you view the main page you will see that our background is
    2 shades of
    orange.. if you look at the line that divides those colors to
    the right and
    left you wil notice that the line is higher
    if you notice that it seems that there is another background
    on top of the
    first one..its the only thing i can think of..
    the only place where the image is being referenced is in this
    CSS style
    html, body
    min-height:100%;
    margin-bottom:1px;
    text-align:center;
    background-repeat:no-repeat;
    background-image:url(images/Background-Color2.jpg);
    background-color:#F74902;
    background-position:center;
    background-attachment:fixed;
    Is there something wrong with the above CSS that could or
    would cause this?
    is it because im applying the image to both the HTML and
    BODY?
    ASP, SQL2005, DW8 VBScript, Visual Studio 2005, Visual Studio
    2008

    You've attached the background to both the html and the body.
    I would do this:
    html, body {
    min-height:100%;
    margin-bottom:1px;
    body{
    text-align:center;
    background-repeat:no-repeat;
    background-image:url(images/Background-Color2.jpg);
    background-color:#F74902;
    background-position:center;
    background-attachment:fixed;
    Having said that the image doesn't look any higher on the
    right than the
    left to me in Firefox. Is it just an optical illusion?

  • Urgent CSS issue in Safari! LIVE site *****

    A site I recently wrapped up was working great in all
    browsers, and for some reason I hopped on Safari today and noticed
    it's not formatting right at all! I'm not sure where the issue is
    as it was hunkey dorey before, and am hoping somebody on here might
    know so I can fix it quickly before there are complaints from
    people browsing to the site.
    http://www.mackinnonicehorse.com
    Anybody have any ideas? If you look at it in other browsers
    you'll see how the navigation should be, and there are some other
    small CSS issues in Safari that I'm seeing. It was working fine
    though… ideas? Please help!

    Never mind… there was ONE little mistake in my
    stylesheet that I fixed and BAM - everything back to normal.
    PHEW!!! :)

  • Hierarchy Viewer CSS issue

    Hi,
    I have a Fusion Web Application in Jdeveloper 12C that gets the colors and skinning from a CSS file.
    When i add:
    af|dvt-hierarchyViewer
        background-image: -webkit-linear-gradient(bottom, #FFFFFF 0%, #000000 300%);
        background-color: currentColor;
        background-attachment: scroll;
    to my CSS file and run my application, the Hierarchy opens with a grey colour but then it flashes back to the default light blue gradient of fusionFx-simple-v2.desktop as soon as it tries to fetch data.
    But if i change these settings on the Hierarchy itself, the colour changes to the grey and it stays grey.
    Any help with this will be appreciated

    modules/compiler/src/java/flex2/compiler/as3/genext/GenerativeSecondPassEvaluator.java
    Renamed makeAttrListPublic() to makeMxInternalAndRemoveOverride(DefinitionNode)
    and updated it to handle IdentifierNodes in the
    AttributeListNode's items.
    Added makeMxInternalAndRemoveOverride(IdentifierNode, Iterator) as

    After days of tweaking and suspecting antivirus behind the problems, I reverted back to MSI's default drivers as listed on the product webpage. It appears to be stable so far. Well at least I can use it now.
    I'm not sure if Killer's drivers are suck or MSI don't allow drivers 'not certified by them'. But its bad news if someone wants to use the latest drivers considering we're talking cutting edge gaming laptops here.

    Hello,
    We haven't seen any big issues either with the Firefox 3 beta's or Firefox 3 but now that FF 3 is out in the wild and no longer beta there are many more people using it. If you see any strange new CSS issue , in the Application Builder , SQL Workshop .. etc. I'd be much obliged if you posted it here.
    Here is a good example http://oracleinsights.blogspot.com/2008/06/oracle-apex-builder-css-fix-for.html even though Mark went so far as to figure out the fix , thanks Mark , don't feel the need to do that just a quick post on the page and/or circumstance you saw it would be great.

  • HTML TAG ISSUES WHEN LOADING SPRY

    hello. i'm having some issues when loading spry pages, the
    <a href> tags within the fragments of html pages that i'm
    loading with spry are deactivating themselves
    http://www.asiwouldsay.com/TEST/"
    the zine link is a good example of this as well as some of
    the artist pages when adding more html text the back buttons
    created stop working. all the pages work when loaded by itself but
    not as spry fragments.
    any help? i'm going crazy over here :)
    Thanks in advance

    The links aren't deactivated, what's happening is that your
    nav bar at the bottom (apDiv2) is absolutely positioned. When you
    load the zine page, the container you load it into is stretching to
    accomodate the zine content, and goes *underneath* your nav bar.
    Now when you click on what looks like a link, your nav bar is
    actually intercepting the click event.
    You can see what I mean by giving your nav bar a background
    color.

  • Centering a Horizontal CSS only, jQuery, or Spry navigation bar within a Div

    Hello all.  I need a solution for centering a horizontal style nav bar whether it be css only, jQuery or Spry based.  I've been trying to use widgets from the adobe widget browser or other ones I've been able to find online.  I have been able to get the graphic that goes behind the links to span the entire width of the Div, but I can't move the actual links to the center of the screen and get it to stay in the middle like the rest of the elements do when you resize the page.  The links always stay anchored to the left side of the page.  I've been able to move them all the way to the right side of the page through a certain css change, but that is not what I'm looking for.  Do I need to resize the Div, or add a div within the div?  Do I need to split the horizontal width of the single div into three div's and put the nav bar into the middle one?  If that is the solution, how do I add the div's next to each other, I tried  adding a div within the div, but nothing really appears to show up, so that must essentially be a wrong way of going about it.
    Well anyways, I need some advice, somebody please lead me in the right direction on how to get this right.  In the div above the one I'm trying to make this happen in, I have a flash object and it just centers itself perfectly with the div and moves with the rest of the page fluidly when you resize.  And the same goes for a div right above that which contains the company logo.
    Thanks for help in advance.

    This is what I mean by the dotted lines not lining up evenly at the ends.

  • IE 7 - CSS Issues with Spry dropdown Menu *HELP*

    I am using a spry horizontal dropdown menu generated in DW. The menus look consistant in all other browsers except ie7 -  When the drop down menu occurs they all appear to the right and not directly under its menu item.. Looked around in the Css and i cant seem to find the right rule to make the change in ie7 only... was planning on using a css conditional statement to shift them left.. But im not having any luck.. HELP!
    Thanks so much in advance!

    Sorry.. Here is the link.. Thanks so much for your willingness to help!

  • CSS Issue - text in list menu causing unwanted space.

    I'd appreciate if someone could take a look at this site
    http://www.geometrikstudio.com/index.php
    All the CSS checks out in the validator but it fails the
    visual test.
    The text in the two list menus are making the content drop
    down a bit at
    the top of the header and just underneath the header.
    I sometimes miss the simplicity of tables.

    THANKS,
    I'll try it.

  • CSS issues....get Javascript error on click event

    Trying to finish up this navbar. Got it where my navigation works pretty much great. However, the code I expected to work when I fire a click event on the logo (represnted currently by a gray circle) causes a 'Javascript error in event handler! Event Type = element' error instead. Not sure why. I know I had an issue with one of my button references (spelling issue) but beyond that, everything seems to be in order.
    This is the code I'm using. The first five lines work right. The second series does not.
    sym.getSymbol("btnVision").$("back").css({opacity: 0})
    sym.getSymbol("btnIndustires").$("back").css({opacity: 1})
    sym.getSymbol("btnResp").$("back").css({opacity: 1})
    sym.getSymbol("btnCommunity").$("back").css({opacity: 1})
    sym.getSymbol("btnDiscovery").$("back").css({opacity: 1})
    var stage = sym.getComposition().getStage()
    stage.$("navVision").css({top: 65});
    stage.$("navIndustries").css({top: 65});
    stage.$("navResp").css({top: 65});
    stage.$("navCommunity").css({top: 65});
    stage.$("navDiscovery").css({top: 65});
    I should mentioned I tried sym.getSymbol for the bottom entries but that simply produced the same exact error. Sign.
    Anyone know what might be causing this? It doesn't seem to make sense to me. Here's the files.

    Hi ladobeugm,
    The error message is rather cryptic, but this occurs when trying to access something not defined, as you already experienced with your misspelling.
    You should use Firebug to localize the error via step by step execution. There is a Scripts tab. In its menu, select <youProject>Actions.js. Then, define a breakpoint by clicking in the line number of statement var stage= etc. In the Spies area, you can look for the offending statement by monitoring variable values.
