CUE 8.6 to CUCM 8.6.1 Integration

Hello Team and Experts,
I am trying to integrate a CUCM 8.6.1 with a CUE 8.6 ISM internal module inside a 2911 router.
I just followed the instructions in the documentation provided in the Cisco site and other ones, but I still have the problem that neither the CTI ports nor the CTI route points get in registered status,
On the other hand I am not able to innitialize the CUE Wizzard. I keep getting the message the "Web Login Failed" and I checked the CUCM password and user, same the JTapi but still don't work.
Please, could you help me to find out what I am doing wrong? or if there is any problem integrating these two software versions.
Also, if you have any documentation or links to follow exactly the detailed procedures.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Javier

Javier,
But  now I do still get the problem with the CTI ports and the CTI RP, that  they do not register at the CUCM, Just in case, I have created the CTI  ports, same for the CTI RP, gave them the DN, set in the local partition  and CCS that is applied to all local phones.
I created the Voice mail Pilot that also has the CSS of the local phones and also the VM Profile.
>> None of these have anything to do with registration issues, partitions, CSS, VM profile are needed for the calls to be router properly, but have no bearing on registration status.
Did you assocaite the ports and the CTI RP with the application users you built for the integration?
Now in some Google documents, they set an important warning about the CTI configuration that says
"IMPORTANT  : don't forget to config "External  Phone Number Mask" for CUE CTI  ports and Route-Point , or they won't  register in CUCM " and I wonder  what is this for, and to which number should I point the external Phone  Number mask.
>> This is not needed for registration to work, perhaps there was a defect of some kind that was causing this, but you do not require this. External phone number mask is used to adjust caller ID on outbound call if originated from these CTI RP which will not happen anyway. The only time it would be needed is if you want it to participate in AAR routing, etc.
If your devices are associated to the application user and it still does not work, I would suggest looking at the CUE logs as those are very descriptive. Simply use "show trace buff tail" in CUE CLI to look at the log output.

  • Cucme and cucm with aim-cue

Hi all, I just want to know if AIM-CUE can work with cucme and cucm 8.0?
Because based on this matrix Cisco Unity Express Compatibility Matrix [Cisco Unity Express] - Cisco Systems
It says that it is supported, but CUE (AIM-CUE Module) should have a version of 7.2 or 7.3 to support cucme 8.x and cucm 8.x
Can anyone confirm this because aim-cue is the cheapest among the CUE cisco offers. Thanks!

That's what I read, having cue 7.2 or 7.3 will let you use cucme/cucm 8.x
When you say "there will not be any new firmware release on the old aim-cue", Does that mean that cue version 7.3 will be the last firmware version to be released on the old aim-cue that will support cucme/cucm 8.x? Future versions of cucme/cucm (version 9) will not be supported by the old aim-cue?

  • CUE: AIM2-CUE-K9 License problem

    Hi all!
    Ok, I´ve the following scenario:
Cisco Router 2811 with CUCME 7.1
    AIM2-CUE-K9 Module
The CUCME is working perfectly, now i´m trying to complete the installation of the CUE, so i´m using the software available for the mentioned module at cisco.com. The problem is that i don´t know how to get the license for this module. First, i tried installing CUE 8.6 software but i didn´t find the license at the download section of the support page for this module, so i tried using CUE 7.1.1 software (the lowest version available) and then installing license for 7.0 and i got this error:
ERROR: This type of license is obsolete.
To install licenses use the "license install" command.
Please see http://www.cisco.com/go/license for additional information.
So, my question is, how can in solve this? do i have to buy a license for CUE 7.1? I don´t know how to use cisco license page, so i don´t know if there is any non demo license available for 7.x versions of CUE. Thank you in advance.
    Regards.

  • UCCX 7.0.1SR5 to 8.0 upgrade while also adding LDAP integration for CUCM - what happens to agents and Historical Reporting data?

    Current State:
    •    I have a customer running CUCM 6.1 and UCCX 7.01SR5.  Currently their CUCM is *NOT* LDAP integrated and using local accounts only.  UCCX is AXL integrated to CUCM as usual and is pulling users from CUCM and using CUCM for login validation for CAD.
    •    The local user accounts in CUCM currently match the naming format in active directory (John Smith in CUCM is jsmith and John Smith is jsmith in AD)
    Goal:
    •    Upgrade software versions and migrate to new hardware for UCCX
    •    LDAP integrate the CUCM users
Desired Future State and Proposed Upgrade Method
Using the UCCX Pre Upgrade Tool (PUT), backup the current UCCX 7.01 server.
Then during a weekend maintenance window……
    •    Upgrade the CUCM cluster from 6.1 to 8.0 in 2 step process
    •    Integrate the CUCM cluster to corporate active directory (LDAP) - sync the same users that were present before, associate with physical phones, select the same ACD/UCCX line under the users settings as before
    •    Then build UCCX 8.0 server on new hardware and stop at the initial setup stage
    •    Restore the data from the UCCX PUT tool
    •    Continue setup per documentation
At this point does UCCX see these agents as the same as they were before?
Is the historical reporting data the same with regards to agent John Smith (local CUCM user) from last week and agent John Smith (LDAP imported CUCM user) from this week ?
I have the feeling that UCCX will see the agents as different almost as if there is a unique identifier that's used in addition to the simple user name.
We can simplify this question along these lines
Starting at the beginning with CUCM 6.1 (local users) and UCCX 7.01.  Let's say the customer decided to LDAP integrate the CUCM users and not upgrade any software.
If I follow the same steps with re-associating the users to devices and selecting the ACD/UCCX extension, what happens?
I would guess that UCCX would see all the users it knew about get deleted (making them inactive agents) and the see a whole group of new agents get created.
What would historical reporting show in this case?  A set of old agents and a set of new agents treated differently?
Has anyone run into this before?
Is my goal possible while keeping the agent configuration and HR data as it was before?

I was doing some more research looking at the DB schema for UCCX 8.
Looking at the Resource table in UCCX, it looks like there is primary key that represents each user.
My question, is this key replicated from CUCM or created locally when the user is imported into UCCX?
How does UCCX determine if user account jsmith in CUCM, when it’s a local account, is different than user account jsmith in CUCM that is LDAP imported?
Would it be possible (with TAC's help most likely) to edit this field back to the previous values so that AQM and historical reporting would think the user accounts are the same?
    Database table name: Resource
The Unified CCX system creates a new record in the Resource table when the Unified CCX system retrieves agent information from the Unified CM.
A Resource record contains information about the resource (agent). One such record exists for each active and inactive resource. When a resource is deleted, the old record is flagged as inactive; when a resource is updated, a new record is created and the old one is flagged as inactive.

  • Cucm 7.1 AD Change

Do you know of any "Reconfiguration and Upgrade Guides" for CUCM 7.X that explains the process of pointing the Pub and Sub to a new domain? I have searched and so far I have not found anything explaining a step process for this task.
    Thanks in Advance!

This is handled via the LDAP System Configuration (you can only choose one type of directory - e.g., AD) and first enabling sync.  Then you need to change the LDAP Directory and LDAP Authentication configurations for the new AD integration.  I believe you can only integrate with a single AD domain; however, you can configure up to 5 separate agreements (DirSync / LDAP Directories) to customize the scope of the search (i.e., configuration of specific OU's within the AD domain).  2 resources to look at are:

  • Using dashes in CUCM user telephone numbers

    Hello,
I have a customer for whom I am deploying CUCM 9.1 and integrating with Active Directory.
They have populated the ipPhone field using numbers in the format 123-4567.
CUCM imports the users and from the Help page it seems that the "-" character is supported, as are "(" and ")", but I want to check whether using numbers in this format is likely to cause any issues.
FYI they will also be using Jabber and are not willing to move to E.164 DNs.

Dashes and parenthesis are OK and will be ignored by CUCM when the number is dialed.

  • Cucm 9.1.2 and Active Directory(Windows Server 2003 Standart Edition SP2)

      Hello!
Can CUCM 9.1.2 support an integration with Active Directory(Windows Server 2003 Standart Edition SP2)? How do I have to write down LDAP Manager Distinguished Name? I can find supporting only Active Directory 2003 in documentations without reference to Operation System.

    Yes, it is possible.
Check this how-to if you have any doubts about the process.

  • Can CWMS import Local CUCM users without LDAP

    Hello,
CWMS documentation states that CWMS integrates with LDAP via CUCM LDAP integration. My question is if the CUCM is not AD integrated will the CWMS be able to import local CUCM directory users via AXL?
    Thanks
    Aamir

    Hello Aamir,
the "Directory Integretion" from CWMS is based on an integretion to the CUCM user data base.
So have to pull the data from the CUCM.
    Just go to:
    Users --> directory Integration
Directory integration can be performed in four steps:
    Add CUCM server.
Synchronize now and set up a synchronization schedule.
    Enable LDAP authentication.
    Notify your users.
    Hope that helps
    Best regards

  • Cisco Unity Express 8.6 - No extensions found on the call agent

Does anyone know why I am getting the message "No extensions found on the call agent" while trying to add a new user on the CUE 8.6 GUI?
    Every little helps.
    Cheers,
    Omni

    Hello Omni,
I was working on an issue like the one you are experiencing. There are some things that you need to check in your CUE and CME to confirm that everything is configured fine.
    1) Make sure that under CUE Admin page -> Users -> CUCME, you have the correct information:
    Hostname: CUCME Ip address
Web username: the user listed in telephony service (Web admin system user xxxx password xxx)
    Web Password:
    2) You need to make sure that CUE is sync with CME
    - You can go to CUE Admin page -> Administration -> Synchonize information and make sure that CUE is synchronized with CME.
    3) Here is one of the most importants things, you need to make sure that you are able to logging into the CME GUI http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/ccme.html, if you are not able to logging that could be your issue.
Note: The GUI Files are not on the router by default, so if you go to http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/ccme.html and it is not displaying the CME admin page, it could be because the router does not have the GUI files, you can go to Cisco.com -> Download Software -> Cisco CallManager Express and download the correct .tar file for your CME version (show telephony Service).
I was able to fix my issue after installing the GUI files on the router. Before installing the GUI files, I went to
CUE Admin page -> Administration -> Synchonize information and it said that CUE was NOT sync with CME, after install the CME GUI Files, I went again to the path and the information was in sync.

  • Problems to registering CTI ports

    Hi to all,
I'm trying to do a upgrade from CUE 2.3 to CUE 8.6. The installation was ok, but the CTI ports and route point isn't registering in the CUCM server, this server is a 8.5 version.
Before we had a CCM 4.2 and CUE 2.3 with the same configuration and the all was working fine, but when we did the upgrade all is working but the CTI port isn't registering. The GW and the CUCM are in two diferents subnet and have open access for all ports....
    Any idea??
    Thanks..
P.D.: Sorry but my english is very bad,

    Hi David,
You english is perfect my friend so, no worries
When you move past CUCM 5.x the integration with CUE changes as well, did you

  • CUPS CUPC Desk Phone control & features

    Hi,
We are doing the POC  with CUCM , CUPS , OCS RCC integration. I want to clarify some of the features using Desk phone control.
    CUCM - 7.1.2
    CUPS  -8.0.0 , CUPS 7.0
    OCS R2
CUCM CUPS are integrated and features soft phone , desk phone , IM , IPPM , LDAP are working fine.
    1) In desk phone mode , CUPC A is call with CUPC B ( soft phone or Desk Phone) . In that time CUPC C will able to the Phone status of CUPC A
such as Busy , Idle  like the Presence status in the phone ?
    2) In the OCS RCC  i'm able to call from the MOC to the Phone , but for incoming call there is no pop up from the MOC ?
    3) OCS FQDN should be resolved in the CUPS ? ( test.domain.com)
    4) From the MOC is it able to see the User Phone status as mentioned in the 1st Point.
    Thanks

    1) DNS entry is really required in the CUPS towards the OCS server (  ex ocs.lab.com)
[Michael] Technically, it will work without DNS.  Tweaking might required.  Since you already have OCS entry in DNS, you may just point your CUPS to the DNS server.  That'll make thing's easier.
    2) When the incoming call to the RCC phone , OCS  will pop up the Incoming call to the MOC.
    [Michael]Yes.
    3) How important  MOC  RCC plugin we have to install in the MOC? how its work with MOC ?
[Michael] MOC RCC plugin is only required when the Line URI in Active Directory cannot uniquely identify a phone device and a line.  For example:
Scenario 1: shared-line across multiple devices
Line URI is "tel:1234;phone-context=dialstring".  If there's only one phone with DN 1234, you don't need the plug-in.  Otherwise, you may
    a) Use the plug-in to choose the phone you want to control.
    or
    b) Change the Line URI to "tel:1234;phone-context=dialstring;device=SEPAABBCCDDEEFF" (then you don't need the plug-in)
Scenario 2: same DN in different partitions
Line URI is "tel:1234;phone-context=dialstring;device=SEPAABBCCDDEEFF".  If there's  only one line on phone SEPAABBCCDDEEFF with DN 1234, you don't need the plug-in.  Otherwise, you  may
    a) Use the plug-in to choose the phone you want to control (even though there's only one device)
    or
    b) Change the Line URI to  "tel:1234;phone-context=dialstring;device=SEPAABBCCDDEEFF;partition=partition1" (then you  don't need the plug-in)

  • No ringback from cisco ip phones to alcatel Phones

I have a CUCM 7.1.3 integrated with a Alcatel OXO PBX and when a try to place a call from cisco IP-Phones registered on CUCM to phones on PBX, I have no ringback, but  when a place a call from cisco IP-Phones registered on CUCM to PSTN using PBX as it has a PRI line to the local PSTN, I dont have that issue.
The voice gateway connects to PBX using a PRI(E1) running MGCP and QSIG.
    interface Serial 3/1:15
    no ip address
    encapsulation hdlc
    isdn switch-type primary-qsig
    isdn timer T310 120000
    isdn protocol-emulate network
    isdn incoming-voice voice
    isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager
    no cdp enable

You can configure COS values for the Cisco IP Phones so that the voice packets from Cisco IP phone are given more priority over the data packets from the PCs/Hosts. But the same might not be configurable for non Cisco IP Phone. I am not very sure of this. Other than that I guess, you can have all QoS features.

  • CAD login failure with CUPS integration

    OK so here we go,
    UCCX System version: 8.5.1.10000-37
    Cucm System version: 8.6.2.20000-2
    CUPS System version: 8.6.4.11900-1
So we've integrated UCCX desktop with CUPs fine, CAD user goes to login gets error asking for Presence creds.
CUPS and CUCM are Ldap authenticated integrated.
I've manually tested logging users into Jabber desktop and Cups user (web login) and both login fine with the same ldap user ( CAD uses this login too)
If I click cancel on CAD login agent logs in fine to CAD, however if I try login to chat gets rejected even though creds are the same.
Have manually input creds into CAD when prompted for Presence login (still gets rejected)
Weird how creds work for Jabber but not getting passed through, have restarted all servers in cluster.
    Any input welcome.
    Thanks in advance,
    Liam

    Hi Liam
This is a particularly poorly implemented feature.
Basically pre 9.0 I think it doesn't do any authentication to CUPS. What you need is an entry in the 'Incoming ACL' (in the system/security/incoming acl menu I think) for the IP address of each PC that will use this feature. My understanding is this basically bypasses authentication.
In 9.0(2) that i upgraded to this week, it supports digest auth. The description from the admin guide is that you must set the digest creds on the CUCM end user to match the user's login password. Well... that's just great security isn't it? 'Please may I have your AD password so I can add a feature to your CAD? Oh, and tell me every time you change it so I can update it'....
There are also a host of bugs I found - you can't search for contacts in Web CDA to add them to contact lists in larger ADs, it doesn't seem to show the status of any internal or external contacts properly, and upgrading to 9.0(2) only made it slightly better.
I get the feeling not many people have used this, or there wouldn't be so many issues...

  • Feedback on the BE3000

    Hello Everyone,
This is a post to Cisco for a bit of feedback regarding the BE3000. I've been using the device in the lab for the past few days and I wanted to make the follwoing points regarding the BE3K.
Just outline where I'm coming from I have a BE 3K with 8.6.4 installed with UK locale. I'm used to designing and deploying CUCM, CUC, CUPS, and integration with UCCX and UCCE, so I like to see alot of customisation in my CUCMs.
The redial key with outbound calls has a 6 second timer before the call connects. I have tested this with the Cisco 6945 which displays nothing but after 6 seconds the redial number displays and the call connects, and the Cisco 3905 which displays the last dialled number but again takes 6 seconds to connect.
Voicemail on the BE3K is very limited. It is a bit annoying to not be able to access Unity voicemail on the server. I would have liked to be able to see the users mailbox with the ability to import messages using Media Master (if the box is running Unity Connection) or set custom settings on the mailbox such as the behaviour after playing greetings. This could be most beneficial to add extra messages to an IVR where dummy phones could be inserted into the system to relay messages to voicemail for information recordings.
Fax with the VG224 and a SIP ITSP is very tempremental. Now this would be the same for any implementation of fax over SIP with a CUCM, it is never going to be easy, but it would be beneficial to be able to setup the VG224 using MGCP to see if this asssits the issue. Currently I the VG224 can be added as a SCCP device, which is great for analogue handsets, but it could be useful to have MGCP.
Updating from USB is very problematic. Installation of COP files hangs and times out requiring a reboot of the server. Luckily you can use SFTP with no issue.
The lack of customisation for SIP trunks without the SIP Trunk Connection Generic COP file. It is frustrating to see a wide variety of SIP configuration options in the documents and not be able to implement them without the COP file that unlocks advanced configuration. I understandthat Cisco are trying to make deploying the boxes easier for less technical users but teh absence of these options without installing the COP file which cannot be downloaded via the software page is unacceptable.
The boot time for the BE 3000 is unbelievably long compared to CUCM. I've watched the boot sequence and this takes a while but the activation of services once the CUCM has loaded the OS is very long. I imagine it's to do with the hardware of the BE 3K so it's not likely to get faster, but it is really slow.
The lack of options on the CLI. There is no ability to run the standard "show", "utils", and "set" commands on the CLI. The ability to issue the "utils service list paged" command would be beneficial.
This seems like I'm poking holes in the device but I actually believe it could be really good. There is a lot about the box that I like, it is great for unexperienced users, it's a breeze to deploy (I set my one up in less than a day with a customised dial plan), and it's competitively priced for the SMB. I'd like to see more attention to the Unity and IVR on the server, and the unlocking of the advanced configuration options.
It would be really good for Cisco to release a roadmap for the features due to be implemented on the BE3K, or perhaps if it exists someone could point me towards it.
    Cheers,
    James McMichael

    James & Adam,
Thanks for the feedback. It helps us greatly in creating the roadmap for the product.
Responding to some of your specific points:
    1) As Adam mentioned, please clarify whether it is a PSTN call or an internal number. There may be some delay in getting the alert/progress from the PSTN network, if it is a pstn call. I tested on myself, and there is some delay, if redial is to a PSTN number.
    3) Will look into this, Meanwhile the FAX solution is to use FXS on SPA8800.
    4) Will see if there is an problem with uploading COP file using USB.
    5) The Cisco supported configuration of SIP trunk is to connect to a CUBE. The configuration options which are exposed on SIP trunk page are configuration items which are required, if SIP trunk is connected to a CUBE. There is a smart design guide which provides details on what configuration is required on CUBE.
If you are not connecting SIP trunk to CUBE, then you would require advanced connection pack, if you want to expose more configurable options for SIP trunk settings.
    6)  We understand that the boot time is high. It should be reduced in upcoming releases.
2 & 7) These items are asking for advanced configuration options, which partners like you, who have worked with CUCM, CUP etc. are used to.  This product is mainly targeted to SMB customers or partners who may not have that kind of expertise with advanced configuration options.
We understand that it is important to meet requirement from advanced partners also. We will take this feedback and see how we can expose these parameters and keeping the system simplified at the same time. I do not have any timeline on when it will be done, since there is lof ot work required to fix things like high reboot and upgrade time.
    Thanks
