CUP 5.3 Email notification Queue?

Hi all,
Does anyone know if CUP queues the email notifications? We currenty have the Email Dispatcher Background Job turned off, and we are concerned that when we turn it back on, that all the new requests that are being entered will generate emails. So, if they are being queued, where are they queued, and can we delete them?
Thanks
Russell

Hi,
Yes it does queue the emails and when you run the email dispatcher you will get all the mails that were waiting to be sent.
I don't know which table contains the emails, if any.
I would try the following tables, perhaps they contain them:
VIRSA_AE_MESSAGE
VIRSA_AE_SCHEDULER
Let me know how you get on.

  • MeetingPlace Express 2.1.1.2 Email Notifications stopped working

Hello I am encountering the following issue with Email Notification with MPE 2.1.1.2:
I schedule a meeting and invite someone from outside of the company by email. The meeting creation works but no email is sent to the guess. When I go to the Email Notification Queue Status Report,in the Description field, I see the massage stating "New meeting scheduled. Queued for delivery" but never deliveried. Could you please let me know how can I resolve the email notification issue. Please note that the SMTP server is configured and it's working correctly.
This was previous post I found back in October 2006, so I'm hoping that in 2010 someone knows how to fix this problem.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/353918
    Thanks in advanced!

You may have already checked these things, but it is worth asking:
    1. There is a user called "guest" in MPE.  This user account is what is tied to non-MPE users when they join meetings and is also used by MPE for notification.  In particular, the E-mail type field is used.  Set this to SMTP
    2. Ensure that there are no ACLs/firewall rules between MPE and your SMTP relay that would block access.  Yes, I know you said your SMTP relay server is working.  I am suggesting you ensure that the communication will flow freely between MPE and your SMTP relay server.
    3. If your SMTP relay server requires authorization, enable it in MPE.  If not, then disable it.  I am betting you have already done this but I am just checking.
    4. Check to see if your SMTP relay server has any local permission features that would block access from MPE.  Some relay servers differentiate between and internal (intra-company relay) and external.  Make sure that MPE can relay to external participants.
    5.  Make sure MPE uses a SMTP e-mail alias that is valid.
    6. Does SMTP relay work internally?  If you are an Exchange/Outlook shop and have configured user internal MPE user accounts and groups with E-mail type Exchange.  Change it to SMTP (for the internal entity) and test notification.
I have seen this issue a few times and I have had people say they know SMTP is working.  Usually they stumble across the fix by going through the questions listed above.
    HTH.

    Thanks,

I have the same problem. I have tested the smtp server by sending an e-mail blast, and it works just fine. But when a meeting is scheduled, the notifications just stay on the queue stating "New meeting scheduled. Queued for delivery" but never delivered. Is there something needed to be done to have the emails from scheduled meetings leave the queue?
    Thanks,

  • Deleting queued email notifications in SCSM 2012

    Hi,
We have disabled the email notification channel in SCSM 2012 and the workflows which are used to trigger the email notification were running.
Now, we need to enable the notification channel. But, we suspect that all the old emails which are queued in workflow will trigger once we enable the notification and will spam the customers mailbox.
If this is the case, how can we find and kill the pending email notifications in SCSM 2012.
Please suggest how to proceed with this.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Take a look at the end of this post, right Before the appendix:

You will need to increase your watermark if you want to make sure that old notifications won't trigger.

  • Rejected email notification are not generated in CUP 5.3

    Dear Experts,
The rejected emails are not getting delivered to the user in a particular scenario. Below is my scenario where the email is not generated
    1) The request has two roles with two role owners / BDOs
    2) The rejected email delivered if the manager rejects the request
    3) the rejected email is not delivered if one of the bdo rejects the request first and then the other BDO approves the request later.
    4) The rejected email is delivered to the user if one of the BDO approves first but the other BDO rejects only after the first BDO approved the request.
Our conclusion is that the rejected email will be delivered only the last BDO rejects the request but we want the email delivered at any level.
We are looking for some solution for the step 3 in the above mentioned steps. Any help or solution is appreciated.

    Varma,
You have two approvers in the same stage (BDO) whereas manager stage has only one approver. Whenever manager approvers/rejects there is noone else changing the approval and it goes to next stage. In the next stage (BDO), anyone approver can change the approval before it gets routed to the next stage. Can you check the rejection level setting in the BDO stage configuration? If you set the rejection level to request instead of role, this should reject and close the request and CUP will send the email notification.

  • Email Notification When Specific In/Outbound Queue Is Blocked

We are running an integrated environment of ECC and SRM with qRFCs to transfer data, such as a Purchase Requisition, from ECC to SRM system (no XI / PI in the landscape). Sometimes the entries in the queue would be stuck and block the queue from being further processed. We would like to have email notification sent out to responsible persons when that happens. In particular, we would like email notification to be sent out when BBP_EXTREQ_TRANS entry is blocking the queue.
I have read the following blog and think it is a promising general approach.
    /people/aravindh.prasanna/blog/2006/02/20/configuring-scenario-specific-e-mail-alerts-in-xi-ccms-part-3
I have however two questions regarding the approach:
    1) The blog has the presumption that XI is involved. XI/PI is not part of our landscape.
    2) Can we customize the alerting mechanism further by specifying the queue name for alert to be sent out?
    Thanks.

    Hi Ashish,
Hope you are familiar with WLST please grab ideas from the following beautiful site, which delivers you a lot.
1.Sending Email Alert for WebLogic Servers Current State « Middleware Magic
    2.http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=5177
    3.http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=5582
    4. http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=7042
First of all why do you allow your servers getting down? If it is often then you need to raise an SR with Oracle. If not tune the parameters according to your environment.

  • Mobile Manager - Error Queue Email Notification

I have a quick question regarding Mobile Manager and the Error Queue. Is it possible to setup an email notification when transactions hit the error queue? I know you can setup triggers on the CEQ$ tables but this wont be an efficient notification mechanism as certain transactions will affect multiple tables. I was hoping the Mobile Manager would have some sort of mechanism to handle this as our current method involves a user manually checking the Mobile Manager home page.
Any help will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

There are three 'header' tables in the mobileadmin schema. C$IN_MESSAGES is the header for the in queue and is the same as C$EQ (except for the message text). C$INQ is the header for queue based publication items, and is different in that it has one record per uploaded publication item (ie: table), rather then one for each data record.
Be aware that if you override any of the mobile repository stuff, a future upgrade or patch may revert things, should not be an issue in this case, but worth adding to the checks.
We have some additional code in the logging triggers created on the underlying schema tables do be more specific about logging of changes in some generic tables, and these need to be re-applied after a re-publish

  • CUP/AE: Email notification not working

    Hi all,
We are configuring SAP GRC v5.3 and we are not getting any email notifications for Role Approvers. When creating a role via ERM, the request is successfully generated on CUP during the Approval step but no notification emails are being sent to Approvers.
We have activated java mail on Netweaver, configured the SMTP server and scheduled "Email Dispatcher" background job on CUP.
    Are we missing anything?
Any help will be usefull for us.
    Regards.
    Leandro.

Thanks for your reply, we could finally solve this issue. There was a communication problem between GRC and SMTP servers.
Now we are facing the following issue. We have created an ERM Workflow with 2 approval stages for ERM requests on CUP.
We are receiving "next approver" and "approved" notifications according to the 1st approval stage but only "next approver" notification according to the 2nd stage, after the "email dispatcher" background job is executed.
Anyway, we are still not getting any "rejected" notifications after a role request is rejected at any stage of the workflow.
Any ideas on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards.
    Leandro.

  • SharePoint Foundation 2013 installed on Windows Server 2012 not sending out email notification

I have a server where i installed SP Foundation 2013 on top of Windows Server 2012. I have configured the SMTP as well as the outgoing SMTP in Central Administration
of SharePoint. When i create an alert on a document library, its did not sent any email notification on the changes made to the document in the document library. So, i created a workflow to send out email using SPD2013. The workflow run, but it cannot sent
out email with error saying that outgoing email is not configured correctly. I have checked with another server which i installed SP foundation 2013 on top of Windows Server 2008 R2 - its sending out email just fine using same configuration and outgoing SMTP.
I need help to resolve this issue or at least the cause of the problem.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Try below:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/13771.troubleshooting-steps-for-sharepoint-alert-email-does-not-go-out.aspx
Go to Central Admin ---->Operations----->outgoing email settings and verify that SMTP server is mentioned correctly
    2) Test the connectivity with the SMTP server.
In order to do that follow these steps:
      Open  cmd
telnet <SMTP server name> 25 ( We connect smtp server to the port 25)
you should see a response  like this 220 <servername> Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service, Version: 6.0.3790.3959 ready at date and time
Beware that different servers will come up with different settings but you will get something
If you dont get anything then there could be 2 possible reasons, either port 25 is blocked or
the smtp server is not responding.
For testing response from your server
For testing response say ehlo to it.
                            Type :
                                        ehlo <servername>
                            output:
                                        250 <servername> Hello [IP Address]
Now a test mail can be sent from that SharePoint server.
Now we need to enter the From address of the mail.
                          Type :
                           mail from: [email protected]
                           output:
                           250 2.1.0 [email protected]….Sender OK
It's time to enter the recepient email address.
Type : rcpt to: [email protected]
    output:
    250 2.1.5 [email protected]
Now we are left with the data of the email. i.e. subject and body.
    Type : data
    output:
354 Start mail input; end with <CRLF>.<CRLF>
    Type:
subject: this is a test mail
    Hi
    This is test mail body
    I am testing SMTP server.
Hit Enter, then . and then Enter.
    output:
    250 2.6.0 <<servername>C8wSA00000006@<servername>> Queued mail for delivery
    Type: quit
    output:
    221 2.0.0 <servername> Service closing transmission channe
    3)  Check alerts are enabled for your web application
verify if the windows timer service is running or not.
Run this stsadm command to check that
          Stsadm.exe -o getproperty -url http://SharePoint-web-App-URL -pn alerts-enabled
         This should return <Property Exist="Yes" Value="yes" />
If you don’t get this, Enable alerts by:
         stsadm.exe -o setproperty -pn alerts-enabled -pv "true" -url http://SharePoint-web-App-URL
If its already enabled, try turn off and turn on it back.
    4)  Check the Timer job and Properties
           Go to
MOSS 2007:  Central Administration > Operations > Timer Job Definitions (under Global Configuration)
In SharePoint 2010: Central Administration > Monitoring > Review Job Definitions
Check whether the "Immediate Alerts" job is enabled for your web application. check these properties:
                       job-immediate-alerts
                       job-daily-alerts
                       job-weekly-alerts
           stsadm.exe -o getproperty -url "http://Your-SharePoint-web-App-URL" -pn job-immediate-alerts
           The expected output is:
           <Property Exist="Yes" Value="every 5 minutes between 0 and 59"/>.
If you don’t get this, run the following command to set its value.
           stsadm.exe -o setproperty -pn job-immediate-alerts -pv “every 5 minutes between 0 and 59" -url http://Your-SharePoint-web-App-URL
    5)  Check whether the account is subscribed for alerts and it has a valid email account. This should be the first thing to check if the problem persists for some users not for      all.
    6)  Then check if at all those users have at least read permission for the list. Because the first mail should go out for every user without security validation but the next ones       won't be delivered unless the user has at least read
    permission.
    7)  If it is happening for one user, can also try to delete and re add the user in the site.
    8)  Most importantly , you should try this one.
Run this SQL query to the content db < Select * from Timerlock>
This will give you the name of the server which is locking the content database and since when.
In order to get rid of that lock
Go to that server which is locking the content db and then restart the windows timer service.
within some time it should release the lock from content db, if not then at the most stop the timer job for some time
Once the lock will be released then try to send some alerts
You will surely get the email alert.
I found this is the most probable reason for alert not working most of the time. We should start troubleshooting with above steps before coming to this step for any alert email issue but from step 1 to step 7 are best for new environments or new servers.
If the issue is like this ,alert was working before and suddenly stopped working without any environmental change then above conditions in step 1-7 should be ideally fine.
Even after this if it is not working, then you can try these few more steps too
    9)  Try re-registering the alert template:
    stsadm -o updatealerttemplates -url http://Your-SharePoint-Web-App-URL -f  "c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\XML\alerttemplates.xml" -LCID 1033
    10)  Try to clear the configuration cache
If this helped you resolve your issue, please mark it Answered

  • How to set up email notification

    Hi,
How can I set up email notification in AV 10.2.3? I have gone through the admin and auditor docs but could not find any mention of it. Was not able to find the navigation on the AV console either. Someone posted a documentation URL link in the forum back in 2007 but unfortunately the link was broken. Can someone direct me to the email configuration page?
    Thanks.

E-mail notification is not available as a feature in Audit Vault 10.2.3.1, the latest version available.
However, it is possible to set up e-mail notification for alerts with some coding. Each alert raised by Audit Vault is placed on a queue in the repository. This is a standard Oracle Advanced Queue, and can be subscribed to using AQ APIs in PL/SQL or, with the JMS adapter, in Java. Once a subscriber is up and running, it will pick up any alerts that are raised and can route them to e-mail if needed.
Sample code to do exactly this is provided in $ORACLE_HOME/av/demo/alert on the AV server.

  • OIM 11g - email notification

    Dear All,
I need to create quick POC that will involve provisioning to multiple resources during OIM profile creation. One consolidated e-mail notification should be sent as a result.
    1. I never used simulated/fake/manual resource. If you used it in the past maybe you can guide me through as for how to create it?
    2. How to make sure that centralized e-mail is sent at the end (all resources are provisioned)?
I was planning to create default role or use ALL USERS role that will be attached to access policies for different resources. When HR record comes, OIM user profile is created and default role (ALL USERS, for example) is assigned.
This role will trigger execution of access policies that will create accounts on the target platforms.
    My challenges are:
    1) ONE consolidated email notification upon SUCCESSFUL completion (default event that somehow should be triggered maybe by job?, custom task that sets the flag in custom table upon successful completion? or maybe I overengineering .....)
    2) send user to manual queue if creation of the user account on any of the target resources fail.
If you can provide any guidance as for how this could be done I would appreciate it very much
    Thank you for your time

    1. The process is outlined here: http://iamreflections.blogspot.com/2010/08/oim-howto-leverage-standard-connector.html
    2. There are two parts to this question.
The first part is to figure out the triggering event. If you know what resource will be last provisioned you can simply put a task that is fired on completion of the final provisioning task that then checks the result of all other resources using the APIs. If you don't know which resource will be last you could let the final provisioning task in each resource have a follow up task that sets a variable on the user form, then have another folllow up task that checks if all values are set and if so do the appropriate thing (if not just exit)
Traditionally you would assign a task to the sysadmin using the API if you wanted a manual intervention (http://otndnld.oracle.co.jp/document/products/id_mgmt/idm_904/doc_cd/javadocs/operations/Thor/API/Operations/tcProvisioningOperationsIntf.html#reassignTasksToUser(long[], long)) but there is the new concept of queues that I actually haven't worked with (http://otndnld.oracle.co.jp/document/products/id_mgmt/idm_904/doc_cd/javadocs/operations/Thor/API/Operations/tcQueueOperationsIntf.html) that may be what you are looking for.
Email sending tends to be easier using Javamail than trying to leverage the email framework once you want something that isn't very basic.
    Hope this helps
    /Martin

  • Help needed in Workflow Email Notification

    Hi,
I am new to workflow. I am creating a notification process in Oracle Apps 11i to send an email notification to users who registered for some training. Now how can I send an email notification to each user as the list of users can be huge i.e. > 200 . Do I need to loop through and send a notification to each user one by one or is there a way to achieve this by just sending one notification to all the users and if I send one notification to all the users how can I make sure when a user gets an email he/she don't see other users email addresses.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

Thanks can you please tell me what will be the datatype of l_user_list.
It's a VARCHAR2 list of users, separated by a space or comma.
Now before creating AdHocUser do I need to check in WF_USERS table if the user with the same email address is already there then don't create that user and just add it to a l_user_list.
Yes - you will need to have a user record first before you can add them to the role.
If adding user to l_user_list how to make sure I am adding the right user to send notification to as there may be some other user with same name but different email that I don't want to send notification to. I only want to create a AdHocUser only if name and email address both are not already in the WF_USERS. e.g. lets say if there is a user John Doe with email [email protected] who previously attended some training. Now comes another user John Doe with email id [email protected] and is attending the current training. How do I make sure notification only goes [email protected] as he registered for this training not to [email protected] who previously attended some other training.
How do you identify which user has registered for training - you could check email address, or use the Apps user name which is unique. Whatever you are using to determine who is registering, you will need to determine what the link is back to the user record in WF_USERS.
Now as this procedure runs every 24 hrs then everytime it runs do I need to create a new AdHocRole and what should I name it as it can't be hardcoded. As I only want to send an email to the users registered in the current training how do I make sure notification does not go to some other user with the same name with different email who is not registered in the current training.
If the job runs once every 24 hours, then you could use the same role each time, and clear out the users in the role before repopulating them. If not, when you create the new role (which is what I would do) every time the job runs, then store the name of the role in an item attribute, and then reference that in the notification so that the new role is notified each time. Don't forget to set an expiration date for your ad-hoc roles, though, and run a purge job periodically to get rid of the old roles that are no longer required.
Also wf_directory.CreateAdHocUser and create a user list should be in a loop and create an adhoc role and notification will be outside the loop.
What are drawbacks of if in a loop I just create a AdHocUser and then send notification one by one to each user rather than creating a role and in the end send one notification. Basically if there are 200 hundred users loop runs 200 times and each time notification goes.
If you notify each individual user, then you will have a large number of notifications that are being sent - extra records in the WF_NOTIFICATIONS table, extra records on the queue which the mailer uses etc. etc. If you notify a role, then there is only one record to process.
If it were me, I would build an ad-hoc role each time, and populate that role with the correct users, and notify the role. I would NOT be sending 200 separate notifications when one would suffice.
    HTH,
    Matt

  • Email notification for MeetingPlace not being received

Client has MeetingPlace 7.1.1 installed. Outlook email notification for MeetingPlace stopped working.
Problem symptom:  When users try to schedule a meeting from web server page, both scheduler and invitee do not receive email notifcaiton in their email account.  But email notification for MeetingPlace works when users schedule meeting from MeetingPlace for Outlook Plug-in regardlessly.
I've run a test with client, meeting creation is successful. But as soon as user finishs creation meeting, email notification is "Queued for delivery" in Email Notification Report in MeetingPlace App Admin page. I checked all possible settings in MeetingPlace Administration page, nothing looks wrong - correct email address account and type in user profile; SMTP server is properly configured and passes tha test; SMTP server is up and runnin.
I'm stumped after deep research online, did not go anywhere. Can someone point out where could possible go wrong and how to fix this issue??
    Fei

Email notification works differently depending on where the scheduling is done. When done from Outlook your Outlook client sends the request directly to Exchange. When scheduling from the web the invite is held in a mailbox on the Application Server and periodically the system tries to send the email to its mailbox on Exchange.  Since the issues is with meetings scheduled via the web interface there is an issue with MP talking to Exchange.  I assume the users scheduling from the web have Outlook selected in their profile. This is the first place to check. Next I would look at the Outlook settings in MP. Make sure the MP mailbox is still in Exchange and that the user name and password is correct for the Exchange mailbox. This is usually where the issue is. Also make sure that SSL has not become a requirement to talk with Exchange.
Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Anyone having issue with email notification delay in ES4?

After upgrade from ES2 to ES4, we're experiencing an email notification delay when a task is assigned to an individual or group queue. It's not consistent, but happen enough that we can some what replicate it. It's almost like an email notification from task assignment wouldn't send through until we kick off another process or claim another task. This happens with server default email notification as well as custom email notification. Please advise how I can go about trouble shooting this.

This is what in the log at the time I ran the test process & email notification delay occured. Again, the email notification delay wasn't the issue when we were in ES2, until we upgraded to ES4 recently. The delay happens spontaneously, no specific pattern. Sometimes it'll arrive instantly and sometimes it will delay. However, when the notification delay occur, if I kick off another new process, the notification will come through.
