Currency translation IDR to EUR

Hi
I got below error please suggest me
Calculated conversion rate 16.422,14112 is too big
Message no. SG119
Diagnosis
The exchange rate 16.422,14112 was calculated via the base currency EUR. This produced a rate which exceeds the maximum allowed value of 9999.99999.
System response
The processing can not be continued because the calculated rate can not be used.
Procedure
Check the conversion rate to the base currency EUR and the exchange rate type M. If the rates are correct, you must agree different conversion factors for the currencies in question (e.g. 100:1 instead of 1:1), so that the resulting conversion rate does not exceed the value 9999.99999.
As per standard i have maintained the translation ratio : IDR to EUR : 10,000 : 1. Wherein if i maintain 1 : 1 ratio the system is processing without error. But logically that is not right. We are maintained as direct quote. We are unable to create any PR.
Kindly give ur valuable feedback

  • Currency translation from EUR to USD

    Dear all,
Our local currency is TWD and we need to convert document currency in sales order from EUR to the third currency (e.g. USD) when executing BW query in BEx Analyzer. Currently we only have exchange rates for all currencies to TWD in exchange rate table. Except for defining exchange rate of EUR to USD in exchange rate table, is it possible to convert EUR to USD (e.g. convert EUR to TWD first and then convert TWD to USD)?

    Hi,
This info may be of help for you.
Check these tables Exchange rates are maintained here.
    Table TCURR - Exchange rates
    Table TCURF
Table TCURV - Exchange rate types for currency translation
    Table TCUR*
    Table TCURC - Currency Codes
The update of exchange rates is updating tables TCURR and TCURV. If you run at the same place the transfer of global settings, the tables TCURF, TCURS, TCURT, TCURV, TCURW, TCURX, TCURC and TCURN are updated.
For details check the programs RSIMPCUST (global settings) vs. RSIMPCURR (exchange rates).
You can maintain exchange rate factors in TCURF table via RSA1>source system>context menu (transfer global settings check only currencies)/transfer exchange rates, this updates TCURF table but also updates all currency related tables. You need to check what all tables you need to update. Also you can look into standard program RSIMPCUST to know what all currency tables will be updated.
If you want to maintain them directly in BW then go to SPRO > Genral settings and Currencies (SPRO -> Global Settings -> Currencies).
OB08 maintains the enties for currency conversion, here you can check whether the exchange rate is maintained to convert the currency from one curr to other.
    Thanks,

  • Currency Translation at Infocube Level

    Hi All,
Currency Translation is possible at Infocube Level ? I am working on BI 7.0.
I am working on Infocube 0IC_C03 where i have 2 key figures. 1) 0ISSVS_VAL 2) 0RECVS_VAL. I am getting value in USD,DKK & EUR. I have a requirement to add more 2 keyfigures 1) ZISSVS_VAL (USD) 2) ZRECVS_VAL(USD) where both my keyfigures will transfer all the values in USD.
Here i see a problem is 0ISSVS_VAL & 0RECVS_VAL is getting calculated in start routine  and getting stored in 0IC_C03 info cube now i want 2 more keyfigures  to be added in Infocube and should get calculated from 0ISSVS_VAL & 0RECVS_VAL. i think it may be possible by END ROUTINE ? Correct me if i am wrong. if it is correct then I haven't worked on End Routine before. if anyone can let me know the ABAP for the same, i really appreciate..

    Hi Sudeep,

  • Currency Translation over several periodes

    Hi,
I have a query on cube 0figl_VC1, on rows 0glaccext and one column with 0balance
    currency translation type:
from source curr. to EUR, with our own exchange rate type
and variable time ref beginning of periode (0FISCPER)
    exchange rates are updated daily
On runtime I filter periods 001.2007 to 003.2007
    no query key date
    What I need :
Balance of (accountings of periode 001 translated with exchange rate of periode 001+
accountings of periode 002 translated with exchange rate of periode 002+
accountings of periode 003 translated with exchange rate of periode 003)
Shall it work like this? If not the exchange rate of which periode will come into effect?

  • Currency Translation Type in queries using currency conversion

I have a question on the Currency Translation Type (EUR_VAR) that is used in all of the queries using currency conversion on the fly. (currency is maintained automatically nor in table.)
User wants to use 2 different exchange rates in a single query. The months in 2010 (Actuals) are to
be converted using Xchangerate-type EURO and the months in 2011 (Planned) to use Xchangerate-type USD.
But store different rates with different starting dates. This is however not possible because the Currency Translation
Type is set-up (1) to work with Query Key date - rather than a characteristic in the data and (2) apparently these
currency translation types only work with time characteristics like 0fiscyear
    My idea is therefor to:
    1. Create a new variable (similar to EXC_RATE) to prompt for a 2nd Exchange Rate type when query starts
    2. Create a new Currency Translation Type (next to EUR_VAR), referencing the new variable or sticking to fixed Xrate type, fixed to EUR
Is this possible to create Idea (2)
    Many Thanks in Advance.

The best way would be to create two curr conversion types , one converting to EUR and other to USD .Put them in properties of coressponding KFs in query. For timref in RSCUR , variable time ref can be used individually for two conv types.

  • Currency Translation in Planning sequence with variable for target currency

    Hello ,
i have a requirement, the cube contains multiple data in the Group Currency for multiple company codes. & I want to convert these amounts to another KF as local currency using planning sequence only (not using transformation, as the users want to do this when they require.)
For this, i defined a Aggr level , filter & Planning function with Currency translation selecting the source field as AMOUNT_GC & target field as AMOUNT_LC using the Currency Translation type ZCTGCLC.
The target currency is not know beforehand, as it depends on the company code of each records that comes in.
Hence, Currency translation type uses  a Customer exit variable 'Z_R_0026' for target currency.
This is customer exit variable which searches the Master data table of the Company code & replies back with the local currency of that particular company code (derived value from the company code variable also in teh filter).
However, when i execute this planning sequence, it gives me an error saying, "no value found for variable 'Z_R_0026'
    1. when edit the CMOD code, to return only say "EUR" the planning sequence runs fine. However when i use this select statement to fetch the corresponding value of the currency using the company code reference from the company code master data table, it gives the above error. it seems to be a problem with the select statement.
below is the code for that exit
    when 'Z_R_0026'.
         data: l_curr type /BI0/OICURRENCY.
         IF i_step = 2.
           LOOP AT i_t_var_range INTO loc_var_range
WHERE vnam = 'Z_S_0003'. " Company Code Single
             CLEAR l_s_range.
Filling Currency Key from Company Code
             select single currency
             from /bi0/pcomp_code
             into l_curr
             where comp_code = loc_var_range-low
             and objvers = 'A'.
             if sy-subrc = 0.
               l_s_range-low = l_curr.
             else.
               l_s_range-low      = 'ABC'.
             endif.
             l_s_range-opt      = 'EQ'.
             l_s_range-sign     = 'I'.
             APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
             clear l_s_range.
             EXIT.
           ENDLOOP.
         ENDIF.
    2. there is a option of using infoobject for target currency in the RSCUR itself, however, when i try to input the 0COMP_CODE for finding the attribute currency from this infoobject, it doesnt accept.
has anyone tried this earlier ?
    Any help/suggestions , guys, pls?
    Thanks
    John

    Hi Praveen ,
    Thanks for that.
    I have a Question.
If RSCUR were to only accept a Date InfoObject , it would be placed under a differnt heading.
The Tab is "Currrency"  & the sub-Tab is "Target Currency"
so i guess, it should accept other infoObjects as well.
Moreover, the help on that InfoObject buttons says
"Specification of an InfoObject (Characteristic) in which a currency
attribute is stored in InfoObject maintenance. At runtime, the
associated currency attribute is determined using the characteristic
value and this is interpreted as source or target currency."
& i have already defined 0currency as a attribute of 0comp_code. so this should work ideally.
almost similiar CMOD code i have used for other too, but i dont know why only this one is getting struck.
    any help, pls.
    Thanks
    John

  • Currency translation key issue on web

    Dear BI Colleauges,
I am facing a problem with respect to currency translation.Issue is that. When i execute the report on web(Please note variable exists for 0currency).I do right click and use the Global currency option.I am trying to convert EUR to USD.When i use the currency translation option,it successfully changes the value to USD.But the unit remains still in EUR.I am wondering does this Unit also changes or it remains same as its database currency.
As a prerequisite,I have defined currency translation type in RSCUR.Exchange rate as M with Dynamic Ex.rate determination. In currency tab,For source currency its 'Source currency from data record".For target currency its "Target currency selection with translation. In Time ref,its current date.I have not used this currency translation type in keyfigure ( In KF properties conversions tab).I do use this type in run time whn i execute the report.I did try option of creating variable also and using the same variable in report. But the result is same.
Please observe the report looks like this.First column material, second column is currency and third column is value.
It would be great if anybody can give your inputs on the same.

  • Currency Translation for Key Figures with Value More Than One Currency

    Hi...
I have query which display key figure GL Account Balance. The currency that used for this key figure is USD and IDR. How we want display value based on selection screen? So if we input currency USD, all value that use currency IDR translated to USD and all value that use currency USD not changed. Otherwise if we input IDR, all value that use currency USD translated to IDR and all value that use currency IDR not changed.
How we do this in query designer? Thank you.
I have use currency translation :
    1. (Right Click Key Figures >> Properties >> Currency Conversion Key)
    2. Target Currency Using Variables Entry
but seems the result is not correct. Can anyone help me ?
    Regards,
    Satria

    Hi all,
Thanks for your help, but still I have problem. I have create one currency conversion type, ZXXX. This currency conversion type is using exchange rate type = "M",source curr from Data Rec, sel of targ currency with translation,
and fixed time ref = "Current Date".
    Problem:
    1. With this setting, i create currency translation in BEx, but the result is not same, it's like the exchange rate not using the same setting with data in ECC (I compare data with transaction fs10N). Is my setting for exchange rate not correct?
    2. When I try to display GL Account Balance --> Calculated Key Figure (Total Debet - Total Credit) for period 0, the translation not working. Example if the value is IDR 1234 then the value in USD still USD 1234. Why this happen?

  • Currency Translation in InfoCube

    Hello,
I have my Master Data InfoObject which contains the currency (USD, EUR, INR) and the currency values are stored in a DSO. The InfoObject as well as the DSO have a field (CARR_ID) which is common to both.
I wish to unite the Master Data InfoObject as well as the DSO in an InfoCube and perform Curency Translations so that I see the source currencies as well as a fixed target currency and their respective values in the BeX Report. This I wish to implement with ABAP code in the Transformation Routine.
Do I need to use an InfoSource or is there any other method to do this.
Please advise. POINTS WILL DULY BE AWARDED!!!

    RRC2 Edit Currency Conversion Type
    RRC3 Display Currency Translation Type
Transaction for maintaining currency translation is OBBS and for exchange rates OB08
Step by step procedure (sample with example)
    1. try to go to RSCUR:
    2. create or modify your currency translation type
    3. exchange rate type could be "M" (standard) and choose dynamic exchange rate determination
    4. in Currency Tab set: source currency from record, target is USD
    5. and now TIME Tab: use Variable Time reference: "END of MONTH" with standard InfoObject "0CALMONTH" or "END of PERIOD" with Standard InfoObject "0FISCPER"
Attention: the InfoObject 0CALMONTH or 0FISCPER has to be in your Cube. Otherwise choose special InfoObject "ZYOUROBJECT" which has the date (like 20.03.2008)
its better to choose "Beginning of Period", because your table in OB08 has to be filled with values starting 01.MM.YYYY
    (like 01.03.2008) is exchange rate = 28
01.04.2008 is exchange rate = 29 etc. not to think about how many days are in Februar, March, April etc.

  • Currency Translation with dynamic scaling

    Hi Experts,
If you have experienced such a requirement,
    pls share what you leant.
As you know, the scaling option is fixed for
    each key figure.
Under such situation, if you changed currency
using currency translation, you will feel
this scaling is not suitable for this currency.
    For example,
    Default -> 1,500,000 JPY
    Scaled by 10,000 > 150 JPY with scale 10,000
If translate JPY to EUR, by rate of "1 EUR = 150 JPY".
(Scaled is fixed by key figure setting.)
    Default -> 10,000 EUR
    Scaled by 10000 > 1 EUR with scale 10,000
But this is not suitable for the EUR user, like German people.
So we want to change scale dynamically on the currency.
Do you have any ideas on this ?
    Best regards,
    Manabu from Japan

You can do VBA code to check currency and adjust the values (not exactly scaling factor ).
If you are using web template based reports, there might be more options there, take a look <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/61/2a813b731fd60ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm">here</a> for scaling factor adjustment in reports.

DM package ran  inputed provided is EUR it shows running sucessfully but log say zero record submited/generated
DM package ran  inputed provided is blank it shows error LC does not exit
Kindly help me understand why it is not working

    Hi,
Im not sure if you made a typing mistake on the last reply, but you cant convert numbers from LC to LC. It must go from a currency marked with an "L" - in this case LC, into a currency marked with an "R" - this is multiple currencies like EUR, JPY, GBP etc.
You will therefore never see the converted records in LC.
Even though you entered a rate against JPY, you need to also enter a record for the same time period for USD (for example) so that the JPY amount knows which currency to convet to. The Rate application works by converting based on relative positions to Group currency. For example:
    INPUTCURRENCY    RATE    CATEGORY     VALUE
    USD                         AVG     ACTUAL          1
    JPY                          AVG    ACTUAL           4
Then when you run currency, it will take the amount you entered against entity C5000 and divide it by (4/1). Without the entry against USD it will not be able to convert.
    Hope this is clear.
    Tom.

  • Show Currency Translation Type

    Hi,
I don't know if it's possible but I want to see te currency translation type that I use in a query. For example, If a user make a currency translation it's possible to catch the currency and the currency translation type that he choose and show them :
    - in the title ?
    - in a column or in a text item of my default web template ?
    Thanks for your help
    Aleksi

    Hi,
The parameters that determine the exchange rate are the source and target currencies, exchange rate type and the time reference for the translation.
To define a translation type you have to define the exchange rate type, the time reference, and how and when the inverse exchange rate is used. Entering the target currency is optional.
&#9679;      Exchange rate type: The exchange rate type distinguishes between exchange rates that are valid in the same time frame, for example, the bid rate, ask rate or middle rate. The exchange rate types are stored in a central table (TCURV) and can by maintained in Customizing using BI Customizing Implementation Guide ® General Settings ® Currencies  ® Check Currency Types. Alternatively you can specify any variable that exists for InfoObject 0RTYPE.
&#9679;      Inverse exchange rate: You can choose whether the inverse exchange rate is to be used for the translation type. If you choose translation with the inverse exchange rate, then the reverse exchange rate is used in the relevant translation from one currency to another. Translation using the inverse exchange rate is useful, for example, when values from the original documents have been translated before being saved in the data targets and you want to restore the original values.
You have maintained the following exchange rates:
    EUR  ®  USD 0.940
    USD  ®  EUR 1.070
When translating from USD to EUR using the inverse exchange rate, a rate of 1/0.940 = 1.064 is used and not a rate of 1.070.
&#9679;      Source currency: The source currency is the currency that is to be translated. You have the following options:
&#9675;       The source currency is determined dynamically using the data record. This is always the case when you perform currency translation in the Business Explorer.
&#9675;       The source currency is determined dynamically using a specified InfoObject (characteristic). During the data load process, the source currency can be determined either using the data record or a specified characteristic bearing master data (see example: Defining Target Currencies Using InfoObjects. Determining the source currency using an InfoObject is performed in the same way).
&#9675;       You can use a fixed source currency in planning functions. Data records with the same currency key as the source currency are translated.
&#9675;       You can specify any variable that exists for InfoObject 0CURRENCY. You can also use these options in planning functions.
    &#9679;      Target currency:
To determine the target currency, you have the following options:
&#9675;       You can establish that the target currency be determined upon translation. In the Query Designer under the properties for the relevant key figure, you specify either a fixed target currency or a variable to determine the target currency.
&#9675;       You can enter a fixed target currency (for example, ‘EUR’).
&#9675;       You can specify any variable that exists for InfoObject 0CURRENCY.
&#9675;       In the currency translation type, you can specify an InfoObject which is used to determine the target currency upon translation. In characteristic maintenance on the Tab Page: Business Explorer, you have to determine a currency attribute. For more information, see the example under Defining Target Currencies Using InfoObjects. If the Only Use in Transformation indicator is set, you can also enter InfoObjects that do not have a currency attribute set in InfoObject maintenance. InfoObjects that are entered here have to be available in the source and contain a currency as an attribute.
&#9675;       You can specify an InfoSet: This is only necessary if you are determining the target currency using an InfoObject that exists in the InfoSet more than once. You enter the field alias so that the InfoObject can be specified uniquely.
&#9679;      Time reference: The time reference for the currency translation can be either fixed or variable.
If the time reference is fixed, the time at which the exchange rate is determined is independent of the data. You have the following options:
&#9675;       You can establish that the time reference be determined upon translation.
&#9675;       You can select the current date.
&#9675;       You can specify a fixed date as the key date.
&#9675;       You can specify any variable that exists for InfoObject 0DATE.
&#9675;       You can establish that the query key date be used. This is determined in the query settings.
If the time reference is variable, the time at which the exchange rate is determined is decided by a time characteristic value.
&#9675;       A variable time reference can, for example, be determined using the end or start of a fiscal year or calendar year, a period and a month – or even to the exact day. The following standard time characteristics are available: 0FISCYEAR, 0FISCPER, 0CALYEAR, 0CALQUARTER, 0CALMONTH, 0CALWEEK and 0CALDAY.
&#9675;       The time reference can also be determined using a customer-specific InfoObject of type date (for example, trading day). Note that this InfoObject has to have the same properties as the standard InfoObject selected in the variable time reference or must reference it.
&#9675;       You can specify an InfoSet: This is only necessary if you are determining the target currency using an InfoObject that exists in the InfoSet more than once. You enter the field alias so that the InfoObject can be specified uniquely.
In the Business Explorer, you can only set time variable currency translations in query definition, and not for an executed query. See also Setting Variable Target Currency in the Query Designer.
&#9675;       In the Time Adjustment field of type INT4, you can specify whole numbers with a +/- sign.
&#9675;       In the Time Adjustment from Variable field, you can specify formula variables (1FORMULA). As these values of the variables may have to be whole numbers, they are rounded to whole numbers (integers) where necessary.
The time adjustment (regardless of whether it is fixed or variable) is always related to the InfoObject specified under Variable Time Reference.
Example of a time adjustment of -3:
The variable time reference is To the exact day and the InfoObject under Variable Time Reference is 0CALDAY. Instead of 07.11.2006, after the time adjustment, 04.11.2006 is used for the translation.
The variable time reference is End of Week and the InfoObject under Variable Time Reference is 0CALWEEK. Instead of 52.2004, the week 49.2004 is calculated and the end date is calculated from this.

  • Cons Units with diff LC and GC & Currency Translation.

    Hello,
    My question is regarding Currency Tanslation;
We have some cons units which has different LC and GC (Ex: EUR and USD). These cons units does not require currency  translation in BCS as the group currency value coming from R/3 is already translated. If I do not include these cons units in the task the system is throwing an error in the monitor saying "Currency Trans Task cannnot be executed".
Is there a way I can configure in the method or task to ignore some cons units from Currency translation even though the local currency is different from group currency.
    Thanks

    Hi Anoop
Currency translation occur on LC.  Check in the Cons unit master data regarding local currency and check in reported data which values are getting either LC or GC (Ex: EUR and USD)

  • Error in EC-CS - Currency Translation is Irrelevant

Has anyone seen this message?  I have checked and as far as I can see, currency is set correctly.  Please advise....
Task CrcyTrans is irrelevant or is being copied
    Message no. G0256
    Diagnosis
Task CrcyTrans is either irrelevant or is being copied from another version for the current org unit. Therefore, the task cannot be executed in the present version.
There is only one exception for source tasks with the type "Data Collection" which bear the task status "Being copied" (in the target version):
If the local currency of the respective consolidation unit differs from the ledger currency, the system permits supplementary changes to the additional financial data in the target version. In this case, you can also start the source task with the type "Data Collection" in update mode for the respective consolidation unit in the target version. Then the system permits subsequent entry of additional financial data.
Keep in mind that the status is not updated.

    Hello -
The consolidation ledger currency (group currency, I assume) is USD.  The Consol Unit in question is EUR.
I checked the currency translation settings in the consol unit.  There are four other units in the group, all with various currencies, which are working fine.  We have another unit in another group that is EUR and it is working fine.  We just added this one.  I have compared it to the unit in EUR that works but can't find any differences.
