Custom DB Oracle9i Creation Problems

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has run into problems when trying to create a
custom database using dbca with Oracle9i (9.0.1) and Red Hat 7.2. I've gone
through all the readmes and have successfully installed Oracle. I can create
a general purpose database, connect to it etc., and everything is great. But
if I try to create a custom database with dbca, it always fails when installing
the JVM in the DB (ORA-29515).
I've got a Red Hat 7.2 machine, 1GB RAM, 2GB swap space, 18GB (RAID 1) HDD,
Blackdown 1.1.8 and I have also tried Sun JDK 1.3.1_02.

Customizing AM Images & Facing Problem in Update & Deploy War files

Hey Guys!
This is Yash Bansal from Gurgaon, India. i am new to access manager. i am now customizing it and facing problem in customizing.
I have customized images which is present in directory path:
opt/SUNWam/web-src/services/images/
and updated services.war file which is present in directory path:
opt/SUNWam/war/
with command
jar -uvf services.war /opt/SUNWam/web-src/services/images/login-backimage.jpg
then deployed configuration from the web server 7.0 admin console.
after that when i open the url
http://<hostname>/amserver/console
then Page Not Found error comes in the browser.
Just wanted to ask you guys am i doing the steps right. please help if someone know how to update and deploy war file on Sun Web server 7.0.

Hi!
Deploying the configuration does not (re)deploy the application. Webserver stores a copy of the deployed application and all configurations in the admin instance. When you change anything in the webserver console it is first written there and only applied to the productive instance when you deploy configuration.
When you add images, jsps or something else to /opt/SUNWam/... and want it redeployed you have to use amconfig command. in /opt/SUNWam/bin there is a file called amsamplesilent. You have to fill the values in this file and then use
./amconfig -s amsamplesilent
I believe for a redeploy you have to set DEPLOY_LEVEL to 21, not sure here, check documentation.
I personally usually do not redeploy for images and such, I simply copy them directly the deployed location.
Why http://.../amserver/console does not work anymore, I have no idea. But at least after a redeploy it should be there again.

1. The procedure called by CUSTOM.pll causes the problem when we use f60gen

When CUSTOM.pll contains a call to a package that in turn calls a remote package, the CUSTOM.pll compile hangs forever.
1. The procedure called by CUSTOM.pll causes the problem when we use f60gen. Though same procedure compiles successfully using "alter procedure compile" command.
2. We have observed the problem happens due to synonym present on the remote database(db link).
It doesn’t work if you are calling SYNONYM on remote database. It works, for calls to tables or procedures or packages in remote database if that object is OWNED DIRECTLY by the account to which dblink is connecting to.

The database link is created under the APPS user in the local database but connects to a different user (SWCS_ICE_SUPCHAIN) in the remote database.
The user in the remote database does not own any objects. It only has synonyms to objects owned by apps and others.
Incidentally, the hang also happens when trying to describe the remote package from the application tier (8.0.6.3 sqlplus) but the describe works fine from the DB tier (10gR2 sqlplus).

Problem in HR Custom Info Type Creation

Created custom info type from PM01...
Activated... This is working fine in the System and Client where I created.
But its not working from other client..?
I am getting error by saying that Info Type is not created... All the Structure and PAXXXX table got activated in both Clients.
Earlier we faced same problem, at that time our team made some changes to info type and probelm resolved.
I don't know where and what exactly we need to do...
But,
One of the problem I identified is,
We are not getting T591A, T591S tables at Subtype Tab, Subtype text tab in INFOTYPE CHARACTERSTICS.
I can enter these two from TECHNICAL ATTRIBUTES... but when I generate all aobjects from PM01, these two values getting deleted from INFOTYPE CHARACTERSTICS.
(Above may be the reason)
Please let me know if any solution for this.

Customer creation problem

while creating a customer in xd01,i find that after entering the country and clicking enter, the entry is missing and system is throwing an error message---"Fill in all required entry fields."

Please check for the customer account group again and try to reset the customer country code and try again.
Also check for the company code- country assignments
If this still aint working then i reckon u will have to have a use exit implemented for the same.
Try creating for some other customer for the same company code and country.If its not working then am sure u should go for an ABAP'er for user exit. Try sending the screen shot so that we can have a better view

Problem with customized info type creation

When i am creating customized info type using T-code PM01, i get error message like "package in non original system only modifiable with organizer tools".
The above message is coming whenever save the infotype in either customized package or local package.
As per my observation when i save the infotype, it default takes SAP package So i need to change that package.So how can i change the package in T-code PM01.
Please tell me the solution to overcome the error.

Hi,
Since infotype attribute in table T582A is clent specific, so you should maintain the entries in the target client.
Create the table entry of your infotype in the other client in view V_T582A (infotype attribute) or via t-code PM01 and click button 'infotype characteristics. Also you can transport CR from client to client via t-code SCC1 as well.

For EEWB the system setup is important in order to create EEWB transports.
First of all via SM30 check the view V_OXT_SYSTAB, assign the proper logical system name and system role should be Development system.
Furthermore read/implement the following SAP Note (especially the included PDF file).
Note 1086848 - EEW enhancements cannot be transported

When client received order from customer through EDI, while creating order it has to check is there any difference in the order quantity and confirmed quantity. If any difference reason code should set up automatically at line item level (I configured reason code as "Quantity short" and it's not big deal to get this in user exit). After inbound EDI order process, order response should invoke only one time that too first time (Not all the time for all orders) when there are line items exist with "Quantity short".
First I'm trying to kick out ORDRSP Idoc from manually created order. While creating order which has confirmed quantity less than order quantity I setup item level reason code as "Quantity Short".
I created condition table with conditions Sales org, Order type, Sold to party(from KOMKBV1) and item level reason code (from KOMPBV1). I maintained condition record, partner profile. But Idoc is not generating automatically after I created order manually with reason code at line item level.
Can any one help me on this.

There are two things here
1) the Output not getting generated
2) Output is triggered but IDOC isnot generated.
I feel the Output must not have triggered. this may be because generally the response IDOCs are riggered from the Header level and in the communication struture ( or in the condition record ) you have inserted a field from the Item level, so when the system is trying to trigger the output , the field value may be blank, you can check this in the determination analsysis and you may find an yellow icon in the field agains item reason code. you may have to modify the user exist to pass the correct value to this field.
an alternative way is to trigger the output manually and see if the idoc is geenrated or not.
If the output is triggered and the idoc is not generated. again look in the Processing log. there must be some error description why the IDOC is not triggered. Let us know the description of the error codes so that we can give an idea of where could you have gone wrong.

Generic Data Source Creation Problem....URGENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need to create a Generic Data Source out of a table called VBSEGK... I was trying in the usual way with RSO2 , but when I press save button after entering the Table name the following error is coming:
" Invalid Extract Stucture Template VBSEGK of Data Source ZPARK_01"
and when I click on the error message its showing
Diagnosis
You tried to generate an extract structure with the template structure VBSEGK. This operation failed, because the template structure quantity fields or currency fields, for example, field DMBTR refer to a different table.
Procedure
Use the template structure to create a view or DDIC structure that does not contain the inadmissable fields.
VBSEGK is a standard table , so I cant change the Table structure. Can any one give me some idea of how to create Data source with this table ASAP ASAP please....

Reason and Prerequisites
The problem is caused by a program error.
Solution
The table or view used for extraction must have currency and unit fields within the field list of the table/view for all currency and quantity key figures.Otherwise the consistency of the extracted data cannot be ensured.To make the generation possible, check whether all key figures of your table refer to unit fields that are within the field list.If this is not the case, there are two possibilities:
1. A table is used for extraction.
Create a view in which you have a currency / unit field contained in the view for each key figure. The currency / unit field from the table must be included in the view to which the key figure actually refers.
Example:
Field WKGBTR of table COEP refers to the unit field WAERS of table TKA01. In a view that contains field COEP-WKGBTR, table TKA01 and field WAERS must be included in the field list.
If the currency or the unit a key figure refers to is not located in a table but in a structure, the key figure has to be removed from the view and read via a customer exit (see below). Structures cannot be included in a view.
ATTENTION!! Often the key of the table in which the referenced unit is located, does not agree with the key in the table with the corresponding key figure. In this case, the join condition of both tables is not unique in the view definition, that means for each key line of the table with the key figure, several lines of the table with the unit may be read: the result is a multiplying of the number of lines in the view by a factor corresponding to the number of lines that fit the key figure, in the unit table. To be able to deliver consistent data to a BW system, check whether the unit of the key figure in question should always have a fixed value. If yes then you can determine that in the view definition via 'GoTo -> Selection conditions'. If no, then you must proceed as follows:
a) Remove the key figure from the view
b) Define the DataSource
c) Enhance the extract structure by key figure and unit for each append (Transaction RSA6)
d) Add the key figure and the unit in a customer exit
2. A view is already used for the extraction
If it is not possible to obtain a unit of measure from a table on which the view is based, the unit field must be deleted from the field list.
A note in relation to the upward compatibility of BW-BCT InfoSources: BW-BCT 1.2B was not yet able to check units and currency fields. For this reason, it is possible that InfoSources which were defined in the source system as of BW-BCT 1.2B must be redefined as of 2000.1 in the manner described above. However, checks are absolutely essential for the consistency of the extracted data.

Database creation problems and parition consolidation

This is my first time on here so please look past my green-ness. =)
I Installed Oracle 8.1.7 successfully and opted to setup the database creation later so I could put the database on another partition. Well, I tried once to create the database on the partition I installed oracle onto (/oracle) but I had insufficient space, It said I needed 1.3 gigs. My "/database" partition is only a 1 gig parition (and /oracle is 2 gigs). My plan was of course, to seperate them.
Ok, I didn't see an option to create the db on another partition so I resigned to using /oracle. My question now is, is the 960 megs on /oracle enough to create the database? I used the custom setup so I could see how everything was broken down and I noticed that my rollback segment is 500 megs. Is this necessary? Can I get by with 100 megs and be fine? Also, if I did do this, I'd have approximately 100 megs free for data, this is enough I hope??
Lastly, I need to combine the partitions somehow without effecting /. The hard drive is broken down into:
gigs
5.5 /
2.0 /oracle
1.0 /database
Does anyone have any ideas? In windows, I used partiton magic but I don't know if there is a linux version.
One more thought (last one for real =), it had 50 megs allocated for it's shared memory pool. I'm assuming this will take away from the 128megs I have thus effectively making only 78 available to X, will this cause any noticeable problems other than a bit of slowdown? I have most if not all of my virtual memory free at all times. I know I should get more ram, but you know how the budget thing goes...

Try running the catalog and catproc sql scripts.
$ cd $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/lib
$ svrmgrl
connect internal
@catalog
@catproc
That will set up all of the internal views and packages that
oracle needs to do DDL.

SUNW.gds resource creation problem / service startup failure

We have a vendor provided set of application server start and stop scripts that we are trying to mold into a GDS resource. The scripts must be run as a user not as root. This app takes about 6 minutes to start up and it creates about 400 processes in doing so. We gave the user cluster.modify auth so it can create the resource, and the command takes but when the resource is being created, the startup script does not seem to fire. So I'm a little stumped as to make this thing run under the user account project settings. The other thing I noticed is the ports that I specify in the list are never present until the end of the 6 minutes of startup junk, and the GDS seems to log problems about these ports at the onset of creation. Here is the command for the create:

We agree here that customizing the GDS using your template is the way to go. What I have noticed is that since creating the wrapper scripts to call the newtask command, setup the environment, etc, when the wrapper script finishes (kicking off the native script) the RGM sees this as a fault and immeidately tries to restart the agent. Here is a snippet of the messages log.

Is is normal for the wrapper script to "die" but yet have GDS probe the ports after X amount of time? Is this where the sleeping dummy comes into play?

Custom ETL processes creation in OWB

Hi, we are working in a Oracle Utilities BI implementation project.
Some of the KPI identified, need a custom development - creation of complete ETL processes:
- Extractor in CC&B (in COBOL)
- Workflows in OWB
- Configuration in BI
We were able to create 4 custom ETL processes (2 fact and 2 related dimensions) including the COBOL extract program, the OWB entities (Files, Staging tables, Tables, Mappings and Workflows) and the BI tables.
We already have the data in the BI database and in some cases we are able to configure zones to show the data in BI.
We are facing some problems when we try to use a custom Fact and a custom Dimension together, for instance:
Case 1. When we create a zone to show : Number of quotes - Measure 1 : tf=CM_CF_QUOTE.FACT_CNT func=SUM dt=END_DATE_KEY the graph is displayed.
Case 2. When we create a zone to show : Number of accepted quotes - Measure 1 : tf=CM_CF_QUOTE.FACT_CNT func=SUM dt=END_DATE_KEY the and Fixed Dimensional Filter 1 : tf=CM_CD_QUOTE_TYPE.QUOTE_STATUS_CD oper==(10), the graph is displayed.
Case 3. When we create a zone to show : Number of ongoing quotes - Measure 1 : tf=CM_CF_QUOTE.FACT_CNT func=SUM dt=END_DATE_KEY the and Fixed Dimensional Filter 1 : tf=CM_CD_QUOTE_TYPE.QUOTE_STATUS_CD oper==(20), the graph is displayed.

Case 6. A different problem occurs in the single fact. We try to show the number of processes of a given type. The type of the process is a UDDGEN. When we load the zone to show the graph the following error appears: Measure1 : tf=CM_F_CF_CSW.FACT_CNT func=SUM dt=ACTV_DATE_KEY and Fixed Dimensional Filter 1 : tf=CM_F_CF_CSW.UDDGEN1 oper==(ENTRADA)
An error is displayed: No join defined between fact table CM_F_CF_CSW and dimension table CM_F_CF_CSW. The dimension tabelentered in the zone parameter could be invalid for this fact table.
Does anyone had the same problem??????

Prforma Invoice creation problem

We have intercompany sales flow. The flow is like, sales order will be created and for that a delivery will be created and an intercompany invoice will be created at first and after that a proforma invoice will be created with reference to the existing delivery.When we are creating the proforma invoice manually, we are able to create the proforma invoice without any problem. But when we are trying to create an proforma invoice through background job, we are facing the problem. When we checked in the billing due list also we are not able to find the pending documents for billing.
When we checked the delivery,we were able to see the status as not relevant for billing. But in the itemcategory definition, it is maintained as relevant for proforma invoice.
Can anyone help in finding out the reason why we are not able to create and invoice through back ground job.

Please see the following information in note 301254 (Creation of billing index):
1. Relevance for billing (table TVAP):
Depending on the specification of field FKREL in table TVAP (Customizing
item category, Transaction VOV7), the system creates a billing index for
order-, delivery- or billing-reference. Without an entry, no
billing-reference exists.
If the billing-reference is 'D' (relevant for pro-forma), the system
does not set up a billing index. In this case, you can only use
Transaction VF01, however not VF04/VF06 to create pro-forma invoices.
You can create as many pro forma invoices as you like for a sales
order or a delivery because the billing status in the sales order or
delivery is not updated.
Note that items with relevancy for billing 'D' also occur in intercompany billing. If an item category is relevant for billing, that is TVAP-FKREL is not blank, and the plant belongs to a company different than selling company (linked to sales organization), then the item is automatically considered relevant for intercompany billing (VBUP-FKIVP = A). There is not a separate setting for item intercompany billing relevance.

BATCH CREATION PROBLEM

                   I have a requirement of creating a program which will create batch without using t-code u2018MSC1Nu2019 and at the same time user should not be able to run the T-code u2018MSC1Nu2019 . So, I have used the Fn. Module u2018BAPI_BATCH_CREATEu2019 for this purpose . But the problem is that, the user must have the authorization of the tcode u2018MSC1Nu2019 for using this Fn. Module .
                Now, I want to know is there any way by which I can create batch programmatically without using u2018MSC1Nu2019 at the same time without giving authorization for the Tcode MSC1N.

                     To give the answer of your question , I have to explain the situation and background of such kind of program .
                     The users have the authority to create batch by u201CMSC1Nu2019 . But the problem is that , if user give any wrong data ( Batch Number ) in the 1st screen of u2018MSC1Nu2019 a wrong batch is created in sap which creating different kind of problems like batch booking, raw matrial booking etc. So we are trying to provide a customized program which will predict the next batch everytime user run this , so that user cannot put any wong batch. Thatu2019s the reason we are trying to give the users the authority of batch creation with our customized program, not with u2018MSC1Nu2019 . But the function module u2018BAPI_BATCH_CREATEu2019 cannot work without the authorization of u2018MSC1Nu2019 .

SAP ERP Quality Issue: Notification Creation Problem

Hello,
I'm testing the SAP mobile app ERP Quality Issue.
I've done the needed customizing in backend.
If I try to create a notification from the mobile app I've got this message:
Your Quality Issue cannot be created!
In iPad log I can see this error:

Exception during parsing! - Collection Value is not a valid DateTime /Volumes/sapmnt/dewdfms0003/fa/src/MobileSuite/LWM_qualityissue_iOS/onDevice/LWM_qualityissue_iOS/1.0_REL/Mobile Quality Issue/Classes/../Connectivity.m:510
I don't understand why the app talks about DateTime if there are no datetime fields in the screen!
Does anyone have the same problem?
