Custom lot size

Hi Experts,
In a MTO scenario for the FG i have created sale order of 1000, fixed lot size in material master of FG is 100. System has created a plnned order of 1000. I want to divide the planned order into 10 orders as per the batch size (fixed lot size) of 100. Is it possible through custom lot size?
Regards
Sm

you can use the Distribution key in production version of the material master
This key Determines the split to be used for dividing the quantities of a planned order or a production order into partial quantities. In so doing, the relationship between time and quantity produced is established.

  • Lot size YX

    hello
Could anybody tell me what does lot size YX "Lot-for-lot with last lot exact" mean?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
YX is a customized lot size.  check  if You set the Last lot exact indicator in Customizing for MRP in the IMG activity Check lot-sizing procedure, in order to define lot-for-lot remaining order quantity.
This makes sure last lot is planned exactly same to  the net requirement qty at the end of all calculated lots. Rounding does not affect the last lot planned.
    Check below SAP help extarct:
    Lot-for-Lot Remaining Order Quantity
    Use
You can determine in the lot-sizing procedure that the last lot of the planning run is always planned exactly. You thus prevent that the procurement quantities exceed the requirement quantities and, for example, cause remaining stock levels of discontinued materials with high scrap costs.
    Integration
This function can be used for all lot-sizing procedures. It is valid for the whole planning horizon.
You cannot use the function in reorder point planning and time-phased planning.
    Prerequisites
You have assigned a lot-sizing procedure, for which lot-for-lot remaining order quantity has been defined, to the material in the material master.
You set the Last lot exact indicator in Customizing for MRP in the IMG activity Check lot-sizing procedure, in order to define lot-for-lot remaining order quantity.
    Features
The last lot is planned exactly in the net or gross planning segment of the MRP list and the current stock/requirements list. The available quantity at the end of these segments is thus equal to zero.

  • MRP1  Lot Size customizing   bundle fullfillment of demands

    Hi SAP PP/MM Gurus,
does anybody know a smart way to built up MRP planning parameter, which split the raw material demands into 2 Purchase Requsitions, or Schedule Lines per week. Plant receiving date, 2 fixed days each week (Monday and Thursday only for receiving goods)
Currently we plan with PD and Lot Size WB weekly (99%), some with TB daily or EX.
With WB we plan Schedules with a GR date each Friday to cover the production demands for the complete next week.
Now I want to change and bundle demands and give out Schedule Releases with a goods receipt day on Monday  (bundle demands from Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) and Thursday. (bundle demands from Friday/opt. Saturday and Monday)
Other settings also thinkable, as I must deal with GR Time and different transport times as well.
I already tested some settings in OMI4, but unfortunatelly not sucessful.
Is the Lot Size the best field to do it?
Can anybody enlight me in that topic?
    Thanks in Advance

    Dear Alba,
    1) after making setting Lot Size: SOP as Lot-for-lot order quantity. save this setting
    2) Run MRP in MD02with processing as NETCH
    4) make Planning mode parameter as 3 ( Delete & Re-create planning data )
    Then check the result

  • [JS CS5]How to get Custom Page size

I've been searching the answer of this simple question but looking no way around.
I have an InDesign document with different page size e.g. left page width is 621 pt. and on the same document right page width is 837 pt.
Now I need to get the width of pages using script but app.documentPreferences.pageWidth return standard document preset size(621 pt.) not the custom page size.
Does any one have the Idea to get custom page size using script.
    Thanks in advance
    Mac

    Mac,
as documentation is showing there are some new properties of "page" since InDesign CS5.
    Among those is:
bounds    Array of Measurement Unit (Number or String)    readonly    The bounds of the Page, in the format [y1, x1, y2, x2].
    So:
    myPage.bounds
and pageWidth of the documentPreferences might be:
    myPage.bounds[3]-myPage.bounds[1]
unless  myPage is transformed (e.g. rotated and/or sheared and/or scaled) with:
    myPage.transform()
void transform (in: CoordinateSpaces, from: varies, withMatrix: varies[, replacingCurrent: varies][, consideringRulerUnits: bool=false])
    Transform the page item.
    var d = app.activeDocument;
    var myPage = d.pages[0];
    var oldPB = myPage.bounds;
    var rAngle = -45;
    var sAngle = 40;
    var myTransformationMatrix1 = app.transformationMatrices.add({counterclockwiseRotationAngle:rAngle});
    myPage.transform(CoordinateSpaces.INNER_COORDINATES, AnchorPoint.CENTER_ANCHOR, myTransformationMatrix1);
    var myTransformationMatrix2 = app.transformationMatrices.add({clockwiseShearAngle:sAngle});
    myPage.transform(CoordinateSpaces.INNER_COORDINATES, AnchorPoint.CENTER_ANCHOR, myTransformationMatrix2);
    var newPB = myPage.bounds;
    $.writeln(oldPB);
    $.writeln(newPB);
Now oldPB and newPB will differ a lot.
So, the question remains: what is a reliable way to show if the myPage was or was not transformed against documentPreferences.pageWidth or if  myPage is of rectangular shape at all. See the possibility of adding a sheer angle to the transformation matrix. Also see screen shot:

  • Customizing page size and layouts

    Three topics:
CUSTOM PAGE SIZE.  There have been lots of requests for the ability to set custom sizes.  One "easy" way would be to create page margins in the same way that padding allows cell margins.  This way, a user can create (for example) a 10.5x9.5 "page" on a 12x12 platform.  Particularly for those of us printing our own, it's one way to allow customization.  All of the built-in layouts would then have to be scaled to fit within the page margins.
If this is done, the next logical extension would be to add a few common paper sizes to the Book Settings.  This way, a user could create virtually any page size.  For example 14W11H on a 13x19 sheet.
COPYING LAYOUTS.  Would also be great to "copy-paste" layouts.  After I pick a starting layout and then adjust cell padding, move captions, change fonts, and so forth, I'd like to replicate that elsewhere.  In fact, I'm trying to create a left-page/right-page 11x11 on the 12x12 platform using cell padding, and it would be great to copy my customized "left-page" layout to all the left pages.
HIGH-QUALITY PRINT YOUR OWN.  I've not yet tried printing via exported pdf on my local printer.  Will it be as high resolution and as well color managed as if I printed directly from the Print module?  I use icc profiles (some from vendors, some custom created) specific to each paper.  I've now spent a lot of time narrowing choices of dual-sided paper to print my own books and I don't want to lose that capability.

Printing from the exported PDF. The quality I get is exactly just as good as printing any file directly.
I have two methods but they are for my Mac system, but I guess you can interpret them if you are on windows.
1 Set the desired parameters for the PDF in the book module (quality, profile to embed etc) and export to a folder
2 import into Photoshop and adjust the parameters if necessary
In Photoshop "save as" whatever file you wish which you can then print normally from PS or else import into LR and print with profiles from there
3 Printing from the PDF by opening in Adobe Reader, setting Page Setup and then "file-Print"
In Mac choose your paper preset, and under Copies and Pages drop down menu you can find print settings (color adjustment "off" etc.) and under color matching on Mac I choose Color Sync, and "Other Profiles"
which shows me all my custom paper profiles
    Sorry for the long post
Another simple way on the Mac is to <right click> or <Control click> on the PDF file and choose "Open with Preview" It's important to choose the correct color profile in the Book Module before exporting to PDF so that the correct profile is used in Preview

  • Creating a custom page size not working

    Hi,
I have Pages 3.0.2 and I wanted to create an PDF for an ad that our playgroup wants to submit in a local paper. The ad needs to be 10cm x 6.2cm so I went to the Inspector dialog and the Document tab and then selected Page Setup. In the new dialog I selected Manage Custom Sizes under the Paper Size drop down and then created a new size by clicking on the + icon. This allowed me to specify a Page size of 10cm width and 6.2cm height. I selected user defined printer margins and entered 0.25 for all margins. I set a name for the page size as 100by62Ad.
All good so far, but now when I select this new custom size in the Page Size drop down I can see the page size and underneath the drop down it says 10 by 6.2cm and click on OK the Document Inspector flashes then shows the A4 sizes again.
Nothing I do seems to allow me to select the new custom size. I can select the other page sizes such as DL fine and see the new page size in the window, but my new custom size refuses to display. I have tried closing down Pages and coming back in but get the same thing. I then tried downloading another program, in this case one called "Stone Create", and selected the custom page size in that program and it worked fine. I got a small 10cm x 6.2cm document to work with.
This seems to be a bit of a bug. Has anyone else managed to work with custom page sizes?
    Thanks for any assistance.
    Graham

    Thanks Peggy,
I tried deleting the preference file and restarting Pages but I still have the same problem with the custom page size. When I start Pages I am presented with a bunch of templates so I choose Blank then I go through my procedure to select the custom page size that I created and always end up back at an A4 document.
I have used the demo version of Stone Create to do what I needed to do with the small page size (ie. create a small ad) but it is a pain that I paid for Pages and now will need to buy something like Stone Create to do what I need. Although, that said, having used Stone Create for this little ad I must say that for the price it seems like a pretty decent program that will do a whole lot of the desktop publishing type of functions without the rather steep prices of the Adobe products. I kind of wish I had bought this program instead of Pages now.

  • Creating Custom Page Size less than one inch

I currently have Acrobat 6 on Windows XP, and it appears that I cannot set a custom page size less than one inch (Using Printer Preferences). Is there another method I can use to create a PDF from Publisher that has a page size less than one inch? If not, would updating to Acrobat 9 allow me to print to a custom page size of less than one inch?

  • Word 2011 for Mac Issue with Custom Page Size

I have installed Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac on my brand new iMac.  I'm using Microsoft Word 2011 for Mac and I have opened the "Word Publishing Layout" template (this is essentially Microsoft Publisher).  I'm trying to set up custom page sizes by performing the following steps.  I go to File --> Page Setup and use the following settings:
    1. Settings: Page Attributes
    2. Format For: Any Printer
    3. Paper Size:  I choose "Manage Custom Sizes"
    4. I create a 24x36 page and save it
When I do this, Word 2011 (and Word 2008) for Mac will only go to a maximum of 22 inches wide and 22 inches in height.  Is there any way around this?  I need the big sizes to do digital proofs for my business.  I don't want to scale down to 12x18 (essentially cutting the proof by 50%) because when I import it into my other program that can accommodate any size document, I have to do a lot of manual work to get things back to scale.  Thanks in advance for your help.  If we can figure this out, I'll be grateful.

  • How to know if a MRP run element is using Quota Arrangement and lot size?

    Hi all,
    Two questions:
    A) How to determine if a source is actually pulled from Quota Arrangement?
I am wondering if there is anyway from ABAP table or from Transaction (i.e. Purchasing Order) in which the source is pulled from a Quota Arrangement?
We use scheduling agreement, PIR and source list, and as well as Quota Arrangement for our purchasing.
I just want to know how, from system (table and transaction), to find out the source is from quota, not from PIR or others.
    B) Quota Arrangement still can work properly if lot-size procedure's splitting quota indicator not Checked?
If my the lot-size procedure which I am using for a material does not activate the splitting quota indicator, it means split quota will not work during MRP run.
But does this also mean that quota arrangement will not be working for this particular material even if I have create a a quota arrangement object (via MEQ1) for this material?
    Thanks
    Daniel

    Tomek,
If I want to use the split quota, it seems there is some pre-requisite.
If you go to MEQ1 and press F1's on the "Minimum qty split" column, and you will notice the following message.
Allocation by quota using splitting quotas is only carried out via a requirement planning run, subject to the following preconditions:
Through the appropriate entry in the field Quota arrangement usage (on the MRP data screen 2 or Purchasing screen) it must have been specified that a quota arrangement is to be applied in the planning run.
The indicator for the splitting quota must be set for the the lot-sizing procedure used for materials planning purposes in Customizing.
Hence, the quota arrangmeent still workable even if the lot-size does not have the spliting quota box checked?
Indicator: Splitting quota in short-term horizon
The indicator for splitting is used to determine that in the case of the selected lot size, the quota arrangement is to be applied using the splitting logic.
    Use
If this indicator has been set, the lot is split up in the planning run according to the following formula:
                                quota for source X
    Quantity for source  X = --------------------- * requirement
                               sum of all quotas

  • Lot size not being generated

    The scenario is as follows:
We have raw material for our internal consumption. for some reason, we have parted with some of the raw material one of the customer/competitor. since we have batch management in our company, we did maintain so. the objective of maintaining batch is to ease the tracing / tracking of the material.
1.material(raw matl - matl type ROH) created. posted goods receipt with movement type 561. batch no. generated.
2 subsequently, sales order created, delivered, billed. accounting doc generated.
3 Further, returns sales doc generated, delivered and posted goods receipt and returned material directly taken into Quality Inspection.
4 Inspection plan generated with inspection characteristics. control key used is "QM01"
Now, system should generate the lot size for the material returned by the customer, which is not happened so far.
Can someone guide as to how to generate the Inspection Lot?

    Hi
Try with this but I am not sure.
In Material Master, select "<b>Quality Management</b>" tab and include Inspection Type <b>05</b> and select "<b>Active</b>".
By doing this, as and when <b>PGR</b> (Post Goods Receipt) is done, the respective stock will go to quality automatically.

  • Manual Lot Size issue in SNP

    Hi Gurus,
I have an issue while creating planned orders manually in the planning book as it is not splitting into the lot size which was maintained in the product master.
    Some details on the issue:
I have a product X and I maintained '4000' as the fixed lot size in product master. When I enter 20000 it should spilt it into 5 batches and which is not happenning and it is placing the entire thing as one bulk order of '20000'.
(If I run heuristics, it is splitting basing on the lot size maintained).
It was working correctly for 1 product and for many of the products it is not working. All the parameters for the products are same and there is no difference.
For the product which was working correctly for one user and for the same product if I try it is not working.
I probed more into the issue to see if any parameters were added in his profile, there is one custom parameter which is assigned which splits the planned orders basing on the lot size maintained. I even assigned that profile, it worked once and later it is not working.
The strange thing is for one user it works and for other users it doesn't even work for the same product.
Note: We recently moved from SCM 4.0 to SCM 5.1.
Did any one faced such kind of issues before? Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Murali.

    Hi Murali,
I am surprised to read the issue.  I will never expect manual planned order to get split.  The lot size settings are applicable only for automated planning i.e. heuristic (MRP in R/3)
If you have indeed observed that the system splits the orders by lot size, I have nothing to comment.  (probably that is why you did not get a reply for almost a day.
If you have found some settings and find that they do not work, please raise a message to SAP for the same.
I do not think system should split the manual planned order.

  • CK727 -Lot size cannot be passed on in combination with mixed costing

    I get below error.
We have KMAT materials and scenario  is Non Valuated Sales Order Stock.
in our PPC4 - we have below settings. (Both are SAP recommended)
Qty Structure tab we have Pass on Lot size "1" with individual requirements (must of Non Valuated Sales) and
Transfer Control "PC03" has "Current Std Cost" with "Transfer only with Collective requirements"
I just created a mixed cost qty structure. In it I even added Costing type "01". Sales order costing type is "18".
Mixed costing works as expected. However we are unable to create any Sales Orders.
Lot size cannot be passed on in combination with mixed costing
    Message no. CK727
    Diagnosis
For costing variant PPC4 and costing version 01, it was defined in Customizing that a mixed cost estimate should be created for quantity structure category M0001. At the same time, it was defined in the costing variant that the Pass_on_lot_size function should be active.
    System Response
Mixed costing cannot be carried out simultaneously with Pass on lot size . Costing cannot be proceeded with.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Kala,
    system's response is correct
In the standard program the combination of mixed costing and
simultaneously pass on lot size is not possible.
    Please review SAP Notes 402440, 584420 and 749128 .
In particular the SAP Note 402440 describes the determination of the
costing lot size at a mixed costing in detail.

  • MRP net requirement calcualtion for Lot sizes

    Hi all ,
Can some one help me on this ..
I want to set up the MRP for the Raw materials Procurement .
for this i want use MRP type as PD and lot size as WB Weekly lot size .
but as per the requirement the MRP is run daily , i need clarification on certain things such as how does the system calculates the weekly lot size ?  say if the requirement is converted into PR on the first day of the MRP run ,followed by that if the requirement varies does the system creates a new PR or it changes the Qty in the existing PR if its was not converted to PO .
what are the stock types considered during PR creation and how are the delivery dates determined during the PR creation ?
    thanks ,
    ksr

    Hi Chris
You can try to set up a maximum lot size and a takt time on the material master.
Take a look on the F1 help of this field on the material master:
    Takt time
If a requirement quantity (for example, for capacity reasons) cannot be procured in a single lot, you have to schedule several receipts. In conjunction with the overlap indicator in the lot size (set in Customizing for the lot size), you can use the takt time to specify that these receipts are offset, that is, that they are delayed by the takt time.
You enter the takt time in workdays.
    Use
The system uses the takt time if a requirement is covered by several receipt elements due to restrictions on lot size such as maximum lot size (with all lot-sizing procedures) or rounding value (with fixed lot size with splitting).

  • Minimum Lot Size Ignored

    Hello All,
To replicate scenario, I have created new material with minimum lot size 10 pcs and created independent requirement (LSF) and then created scheduling agreement.
Independent requirements as 8 pc for every day.
Now when I run the MRP and check in MD04, for the last requirement, planned order was raised for just 9 pcs, ignoring minimum order qty/minimum lot size functionality.
Just for information, Lot size -EX, MRP type PD, Strategy group 10 (though these factor doesnot influence).
    Any more settings/customizing required?
    BR,
    Krishna

    Dear Krishna,
I guess you must have activated the check box for Last Lot Exact for the Lot size - EX in T.code OMI4.
If so means remove this and then check with new requirements and MRP run with planning mode - 3.

  • Reg: lot size and replenishment lead time

    1. please explain about lot size and replenishment lead time.
    2. please also explain about consumption based planing and in steps explain how to perform manual and automatic reorder point(transc code please)

You use the lot-sizing procedure to determine how the system is to calculate the reorder quantity in the planning run.
A lot size defining the lot-sizing procedure is assigned to every material master record applicable to materials planning.
The lot size is defined in Customizing by the combination of the lot-sizing procedure and the lot-sizing indicator.
Three procedures for lot sizing are available:
    o  static lot-sizing procedures
    o  period lot-sizing procedures
    o  optimizing lot-sizing procedures
You use the lot-size indicator to define the procedure.
The following parameters are also available for controlling the lot-sizing procedure:
    o  Short-term and long-term lot size
You can split the lot-sizing procedure into a short-term and a long-term period. This means that you can select one lot-sizing procedure in the near future and a different one in the distant future.
You define the periods in the section of the screen entitled "End of the short-term period/start of the long-term period".
The valid from date of the long-term lot size area is defined via:
       -  a periodicity
       -  a number of periods
The beginning of the long-term period is calculated by taking today's date and adding the number of periods in the future; the long-term planning period then starts on the next complete period.
       Note
For materials that are planned using the short and long-term lot size,
it is recommended that you define a maximum MRP period. Defining the
MRP period has the effect that materials after a certain period are
included in planning even if no changes relevant to the planning run
have occurred. This avoids a situation where order proposals created
with the long-term lot size move into the short-term period because no
changes relevant to MRP have occurred for the material.
You define the maximum MRP period in the step, "Define maximum MRP
period". A material that is planned on a regular basis should also be
provided with an MRP type that contains the indicator for regular MRP.
    o  Scheduling indicator
For period lot sizes, you can use the indicator for scheduling to
       determine whether the availability date;
o  is to be set to the first requirements date in the period
o  or is to be set to the beginning of the period
o  is to be set to the end of the period
o  or whether the period start represents the beginning of the planned
order and the period end represents the availability date (repetitive
    manufacturing)
      Interpretation of the delivery times
For the lot-sizing procedure, you can also define whether the period
start is to be interpreted as the delivery date or as the availability
date using the indicator, "interpretation of the calendar times".
      NOTE
The indicators, Scheduling and Interpr.deliv.times are mutually
      exclusive.
      Indicator for the splitting quota
For the quota arrangements, you can determine whether the requirements
quantities are to be distributed to several items, that is, whether
they are to be split. With the splitting quota arrangement,
requirement quantities are not simply allocated to the smallest quota
rating. Instead, they are distributed among various sources using the
      following formula:
Quantity for source of supply X = Quota of source X * reqmts quantity
    Sum of all quotas
      Overlapping indicator
The overlapping indicator along with the cycle time in the material
master record are used to split the planned orders into several
partial quantities whereby the in-house production time overlaps by
      the cycle time.
      Lot-sizing procedure for make-to-order production
In make-to-order production, you can use the indicator, Lot size for
      make-to-order production to determine whether,
the order quantity is to be calculated using the exact lot size
the order quantity is to be calculated using the exact lot size and
the system is also to take the rounding quantity or the minimum and
      maximum lot size into account
the order quantity is to be calculated using the lot-sizing procedure
      defined for the short-term area
      Maximum stock level variant
The system only displays the Maximum stock level variant field in the
