Customising Question Buttons

Hi,
I need your help!
I've created a question slide (short entry) and I'd like to
customise the button that is generated.
My options are either:
- Specifiy a saved image for the button, or
- Make the button transparent (sits over the button image in
the background)
Is this possible? If so, HOW????
Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

OK, I've sort of figured this one out for myself -but there are potential issues.
In the onClick options for the built-in 'Update' button (top or bottom) I typed the following:
window.opener.location.reload();
window.close();
do_event(this.form, this.name,1,'ON_CLICK','');
The parent page seems to refresh at the correct time - i.e., after the commit has taken place within this update event. However, I'm not sure if this is just random luck. For some reason I cannot place the do_event call before any of the other function calls otherwise I get a javascript error!! Is this a bug?
Can anyone confirm my fear that the parent page refresh will not always accur after the commit of the form has completed, or suggest a workaround to the positioning of the function calls within this code segment?

Wrong yet again. Apple has an 800 number and they have many retail stores and they have support articles that you can access using the search bar. Or you can contact them throgh express lane online

Hi,
You can get the reference to your user defined function by calling the method get_function and passing the ID or the function code that you have specified. The simply call the set_visible method to make it invisible. Sample code would be like this:
data: lr_function TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_function.
lr_function = l_alv_model->if_salv_wd_function_settings~get_function( 'ID' ).
lr_function->set_visible( CL_WD_UIELEMENT=>e_visible-NONE ).

The reset link, as described in steps 1 to 5 on this page, will only show if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account. If you don't have one then go to (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

Customising Update buttons

I've got my Forms and Reports talking to each other as portlets on the same page.
I have another scenario partially working where I would also like get a portal page with a report portlet call a form component in a new window (by clicking on the record in the report) and automatically query the record that I clicked on the form. That I can do.
When I perform the update (by clicking on an update button) I want the database update to continue as normal and then the pop-up form window to automatically close (by some form of window.close() call) and the parent window (the Portal page with the report portlet) to perform a refresh so that the report shows the new details.
How can I do this? Is the do_event javascript function something I need to reference?

Simple question - Button -please.

so: I'm coming form DVD Studio Pro where i'm completely at home. But the text in DVDSP looks horrible and is really horrible to work with.
And then come to Encore. WOW! the text looks nice, good!
But now, here i am, making buttons in Encore is a totally different way than in DVDSP.
I kind of see a bit how this layer set for buttons and prefix works... but i can't find out how to work out my highlights (or subpicture...). And basically i'm not completely stupid neither, but when i look for this topic in the help files, i can't find any clear explanation about HOW TO MAKE A BUTTON> Please Adobe, stop only thinking of the home users that will use the presets..!!! Some people also want to create their menu fully from scratch!
Thus, is there anyone that can tell me in a few words how to define:
- The active area of a button
- The way to make and define what will highlight (is it only vector masks, can't I design any shape? Is it pixel based or vector based?)
I think with this i'll be already one big step further.
I'm trying to open myself to Encore, and love the quality of the text, but well, yoo, why are the help in Adobe soooo unfriendly? Everything online, very confusing forum structure.. well.. i'll stop here, I don't wanna sound bitter. BAsically, i like but i feel it becomes so preset based and not anymore for the one that wants to makes things different.. Please Adobe, don't forget us. We might not be the one that are the most numerous, but we are the one that make thing change in the AV world and that is your future too!

I just had a fast look and fully understand now. That's a bit what i could get... but still that's indeed much clear/to the point than the Encore help "files".
One last thing: Can the highlight be pixel based? Because in the tutorial, it's or text (vector thus) or Shape (also vector...).
And how to make the active area bigger than the buttons graphics for instance.. (see image inserted below)

Contribute CS4 hides repeat question buttons

Hi all,
when upgrading to Contribute CS4, our internal client cannot see the buttons ,it is there on screen, but somehow hidden underneath the another div, the above image was taken using CS3, in CS4 its completely hidden behind the div.
does anyone else experience the same problem ? if so, please direct me to a solution.

Customised Back button in ALV loses selection screen parameters

Hi,
In my ALV output, the user interacts with the output. I had to program my own back button in the pf-status so that when the user hit back they didnt return to the original alv output. (if that makes sense)
I use LEAVE TO TRANSACTION 'ZZZZ' (user_command form) but the problem is that i lose all the selection parameters that the user has entered.
I have tried everything.........set screen 0, leave screen etc..........and searched the forum but cant find the answer.
Anyone know what i need i do..........

e.g.

Customising the button widget

Hi
I would like to include the navigation options on all my slides to give the user control of the presentation, from reading other posts, the best way to do this seems to be to include the button widget on the master slide. I have looked at inserting this but is there a way to make this just an image of an arrow rather than a text box?

Hello,
The button widget is a static widget. If you have access to a Flash Developer, it could be customized, the source file is available with Captivate. Because it is a static widget you can use it on the master slide, which is not the case for interactive objects (like buttons or click boxes or interactive widgets). And it has the look of a real button, there are different states when hovering over it etc. But it is indeed a Text Button. A more simple solution would be to delete the text and put an image of an arrow on top of the widget, but its color will not change with the state.

CS2/XP/ModalAlert question (button combo/Tom Taylor)

Bear with me, but this is driving me crazy. I get the following assertion...
CAlert::ModalAlert - button combination not supported, see Tom Taylor
...when I run this:
int16 answer = CAlert::ModalAlert( "Test", kYesString, kNullString, kNullString, 1, CAlert::eQuestionIcon);
I started out with 3 buttons, but I get the assertion even with the simplistic code above. I have used ModalAlert successfully before, but migrated recently from Win 2K to XP.
Does anyone have a clue what the above means?

I got it to work with Yes/No/Cancel (misleading labels, of course, but I can live with that), although I thought I had tried that combination before. Sorry about the false alarm. Possibilities seem to be even more limited than I imagined, and confusion and paranoia kicked in. Deadlines, you know...
