CYAN color range (0 to 100 %) convert to spot color

Hi
We have around 1000 eps files with different cyan values for ex cyan at 40 % or 60%, we require the cyan value to be changed to Pantone 801 C.
Any script would be great help for us.

  • Convert from spot color to custom CMYK value in Applescript

I thought this would be very simple and it's not apparently. I am trying to convert a spot color into a custom CMYK value. Basically:
    tell application "Adobe Illustrator"
set theList to every path item of current document
repeat with k from 1 to count of theList
if fill color of item k of theList = {name:"Dark Green"} then
                                  set fill color of item k of theList to {cyan:0.0, magenta:100.0, yellow:0.0, black:0.0}
                        end if
              end repeat
    end tell
But this script obviously doesn't work. From what I can tell, the fill color simply returns the tint of the item, not the name of it. I can't find anything that returns the name of a spot color so I can set the correct corresponding color. In the above example, I made the color obviously changed so I could visually see the result.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I'm a first time poster here.
    Thanks!

  • How to compensate Cyan color with other colors with using profile

    Hi Guys,
I am using Adobe Illustrator CS3. Mac OS 10.4.11. I need a help regarding color compensate. let me explain clearly. I am doing a project in that i need to delete Cyan color and need to compensate with MYK colors. Is there any short way to get with good result.
FYI: we have UCR (Under Color Remover) profile which is for Black. With using this profile we can compensate black color with CMY with good result. Like this way only I want Cyan color compensate.
Is there any profile or method for that. If there, please share with me....

You are getting rid of the C channel completely and trying to create the same color balance usign the M,Y and K plates? Quite simply - impossible unless your images have a narrow color spectrum. The K to some extent can be used to replace a lot of the density normally associated with the C. But there is a large part of the color wheel that you cannot produce with no C at all.
with actions and scripting it is not possible. because all the images are different, we need to work according to image.
This is not true. Actions are probably more powerful than you are aware and can be designed to bring up dialogs to allow you to tailor each image to your needs.

  • Spry menu bar cyan-colored controller non-responsive

The cyan-colored controller that enables users in CS4 to configure spry tabs has suddenly stopped working, evidently after I made a change in width setting for spry tabs. The controller no longer works in the site in which I first experienced the problem and,for that matter, in another new site I made for testing purposes.
Is there a fix for this? Would re-installing Dreamweaver C4 fix this?
Thanks for your help. I attach a file showing the cyan-colored tab to which I am referring.

    Bob,
I don't have answer for you because I don't use the spry menus and haven't seen this problem on the occasions I have experimented with it.

No, that only means, that your raw format has a better compression. Converting to TIFF will not add any better resolution. Not the file size does count for better prints, but the pixel size - the width and height of the photo in pixels.

  • The cyan color won't print when using our HP Pro 6500 Officejet printer

the cyan color won't print when using our HP Pro 6500 Officejet printer.  Can I get help with this?

This doesn't make sense. The printer is exhibiting behavior noticed when a network printer is connected to a laptop while the laptop is connected to a VPN. But in this case, neither the printer is connected on a network, not is the laptop connected to a VPN per se.
Are you sure all the latest drivers for your laptop have been installed? That's pretty much the only thing I can think of right now.

  • How to Generate Gaussian Distribution for a given range say [0,100]

    Hello all,
Iam looking for a Gaussian Distribution for a given range say [0,100]. I dont have the mean or the standard Deviation. Also iam not that good at Statistics.
For this range [0,100] : the mean according to my knowledge should be : 50.
Now it is Standard Deviation : i dont have it but i dont want any negative values
I have got the following formula :
    double val= Math.round(r.nextGaussian() * std + (range)/2);
where range is 100 which is obtained by subtracting the hi val - low val.
As i dont have std dev i cannot use the formula above.
    My question is :
    1. Can we get a normal/gaussian distribution for a given range, say [0,100] without specifying standard deviation. Is there any formula for it.
    Reg
    Sankut

A Gaussian distribution cannot be bounded; as previously noted, if it is it's not Gaussian. However, you can effectively approximate bounds. A range of
mean +/- 4 standard deviations (SD)
will include 99.997% of all observations. If we set (mean - min) equal to 4 SD, it will include "all" low-side observations. So,
    4 SD = (50 - 0)
    1 SD = 12.5
The Java method provides a distribution with a mean of 0.0 and a SD of 1.0. The formula the OP posted can be used then to adjust its output to what is wanted:
    number = Randon.nextGaussian() * 12.5 + 50;
As a test, I ran a sample of 1000 and got the following distribution:
    VALUE     FREQUENCY
    <5     0
    6-15     1
    16-25     21
    26-35     90
    36-45     222
    46-55     341
    56-65     220
    66-75     84
    76-85     19
    86-95     2
95     0If 3 SD is used instead of 4 SD, the range will include 99.7% of all observations.

  • Cyan color will not print

Pro L7580 quit printing Cyan color.
Diag Page is showing no blue on the Test 1 or 2.

    Hey ckayv,
Often times this is an issue with the printhead in the Officejet Pro L7580 series All-in-One that you are describing.  However, before going to the expense of changing out the printhead I would advise taking a look at the steps in the document linked below.
    Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues
If the troubleshooting is unable to fix the print quality issue, then you have a couple of options at this point.
You can replace the printhead (Cyan/Magenta printhead).  The printhead is the 88 Cyan and Magenta printhead and can be obtained from many HP retailers, such as where you purchase your cartridges.
You can purchase a new printer that doesn't have a problem with the printhead.
    Hope this helps,
    Jason

  • Print Alignment Failed and Cyan color not printing on Officejet 8500 Primier

The Alignment Fails and the Cyan color is not printing. The Cyan cartridge was low and was failing to add the blue color.  Even though it was not empty, I replaced it.  After doing so it went through the alignment process and I received an error message "Alignment Failed"  I proceeded to take the following troubleshooting steps: 1.  Cleaned printhead & Alignment through the printer tools2.  Reinserted the Cyan ink cartridge, cleaned & aligned printhead3. Turned the printer off, unplugged the power cord from the back of the printer for one minute and then plugged back in.  I then went through the alignment again. None of these troubleshooting techniques worked.  The only thing I have not done, is replace the printhead.  They are so expensive and I'm worried that this may not be the issue.

    Hi DavidM2,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having issues with the Cyan and the Yellow ink cartridges as well.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
If you are still having issues then try to replace the cartridges.
Let me know how you make out and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • Convert CMYK+SPOT (only selected bands) to RGB

    Hello,
    My context:
I am dealing with multi-band TIFF files - CMYK + one or more SPOT colors.
I am able to read the multi-band TIFF file using JAI and read the number of bands correctly.
Also, I can read the value for any band for any pixel.
For the SPOT colors I have Pantone CMYK equivalents.
The bands are 8 bit in size.
    My problem:
I need to be able to show/hide one or more bands and display the result.
Is there a (mathematical) formula for converting CMYK+SPOT color bands to the RGB color space?
    A simple example:
    (CMYK scale 0-100)
    All bands: C, M, Y, K, SPOT1 (C=100,M=100,Y=0,K=0), SPOT2(C=100,M=0,Y=100,K=0)
    Bands selected: C, M, SPOT1
    PixelX values: C = 50, M = 10, SPOT1=80
Can we calculate PixelX's RGB values to display on screen?
Is there any documentation I can read anywhere on the subject?
    Thanks in advance,
    Georgi

  • How do I get HP to comp me for cyan color cartridge that quit working? CP1215
