DAQ 6008 need to be reconnected

  Hello,
  I have a problem while performing a voltage measurement using DAQ 6008 board;
I need to reconnect the board each time I want to measure otherwise if I run the program, stop it and after that run it again
I receive the error 200284 saying that some or all of the samples requested have not yet been acquired.
Any suggestion is welcomed.
 Thanks, Chipet

Hey Chipet,
I looked into this error code for a little bit and found this article that goes over the some common reasons for getting it:
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/FEF778AD990D5BD886256DD700770103
I'm not sure where this is occuring in your VI, but I'd imagine it happens when you reads the samples. Adjusting the type of read you're doing (finite vs continous and the corresponding settings) could be helpful. Here is another article that goes through some of the more common DAQmx functions and when to use them:

Hope this helps,

  • How to connect pulse oximeter to DAQ 6008

What is needed to connected a Nellcor Pulse Oximeter for a adult finger to a DAQ 6008?

In order to connect any type of sensor, you need to know what sort of signal that the sensor is putting out. The 6008 has some basic analog inputs and static digital. I've only worked with the actual instruments. The various sensors often have a proprietary interface to the instrument and i'm not sure how much information is available on the sensors themselves. Perhaps you can check the biomedical forum to see if anyone has reversed engineered some sensors. If you can get some actual specs of sensors, it will be simple to say whether you can use a DAQ device to read them.

  • I need help understanding reconnect issues with my photos

I have having a really difficult time learning to use  this program.  I automatically have all my pictures saved in Elements.  I seem to be unable to save my photos in any folders, so therefore I am unable to upload any one picture to facebook or my word processing program.  I am not finding any options for sorting my files.  I use tags and have them all tagged but that doesn't help me.  I want to make a CD of only certain photos not every photo in my catalog.
What I have been doing is is using file>move>desktop and then uploading or copying from there.  I keep running into problems when I go back to elements that my photos are not connected and need to be reconnected.  Dozens and dozens of my photos need reconnecting and I can't seem to find them.
What am I doing wrong?  The current project I am trying to accomplish is making a CD of about 60 of my daughters graduation pictures from the total collection of over 100 pictures.  I am very frustrated because I cannot do this while feeling that it should be a doable project in this program.
As a side comment  I have watched so many tutorial videos for this program but they don't seem to answer my questions, altough I have learned a lot from them, the pictures just sit there in elements and I can not share them or show them off.

First, a better workflow: if you want to make a CD of some photos for someone, create a collection or album for this purpose. Place all the desired photos into this collection or album. Inside the collection/album, you can sort the photos in any way you'd like. Then, once you are happy, select all the photos in the collection/album, File->Export->As New Files, export the photos to a temporary folder somewhere, and then burn your CD. In general, any time you want to share your photos, this is the process (the creating of a collection/album is optional, but you always want to use File->Export->As New Files)

    Hello;
For the NI 6008 card sampling frequency equal to 10 kS / s and it has 8 analog inputs, but if I will use the 8 analog inputs simultaneously, what is the value of the new sample rate for each input analog obtained during an acquisition in labview?
    best regards.

  • Random Differential Voltage Drop (DAQ 6008)

While measuring a constant voltage of 5V with the DAQ-6008 I get voltage drops (from 5V to near 0) randomly and for very short periods of time. I've found the same issue even when using different voltage sources. I am attempting to use the voltage on this particular channel as an analog trigger. So, as you can infer, the random voltage drops cause unnecessary triggering.  Any Ideas?
    Regards

    Thank you for your response.
I am including all of the requested information:
    1. The LabView vi
    2. .txt data output file (open in notepad)
    3. A picture of an example setup I am using to test the triggering system (note, this is one of several setups that all have the same triggering issue)
I'm certain the connections are not the problem considering the simplicity of the test circuit as shown in the attached image.
I have my DAQ-6008's ai3 port hooked up to the voltage input (the battery pack as shown in the picture, E.G.). Normally, the ai3 port would be connected to a binary sensor that ouputs either a 5v output or a 0v output depending on the presence of an object. As you can see in the vi, I am attempting to compare each of the incoming ai3 voltages to a value (4.5); if the incoming voltage rises from 0V to above 4.5V, a true signal is outputted and the trigger should activate once by incrementing the wheel count once. The problem presents itself here by incrementing the wheel count randomly even if a constant voltage source remains above the 4.5 threshold value. You can see in the data file that all of the values are 5.208543. Again, this constant voltage is exemplified by the battery pack in the picture. There is no random incrementing if the voltage source remains at 0V.

  • Why does my ipad keep needing to be reconnected to itunes?

For the second time in less than a month, my iPad 2 shows the screen that requires reconnected to iTunes.  Everything was working fine yesterday, but when I went use the iPad this morning, a reconnect was needed.
Help.  If I don't have a computer with me, the iPad has just become a very expensive paper weight.

Maybe I need to ask the question in a different way.  The iPad was working fine and then for no reason, it required a connection to iTunes.  A reset did not take care of the problem.
Since this is the second time something like this has happened, I am concerned that it will happen again when I am in a situation where I don't have access to a computer (or Apple Store).
What might be causing the problem and what can be done to prevent it from happening again?

  • Separate Analog Input/Output Tasks for Multiple USB-Daq 6008

Hello, In my application I'm using two separate USB-6008 DAQ devices, they are to be used simultaneously,
i.e both tasks will start in a same loop, there are both writing to some channels and sampling some data from
some channels, the problem is, when I'm trying to define a task, via Daqmx base Configuration Utility, I
sucseed at defining the task, for the first Device, but unable to define nearly same task but for the
different Device, since the OK button is grayed out (Disable).
    I'm using Labview 7.1 and a NI-Daqmx base ver. 2.0
Following attachment shows what I'm talking about.

Actually it is not the easiest to use the full version of daqmx is easier, It is also very easy to set this up in MAX (measurement and automation explorer) What version of labview are you using. have you made sure that the device is recognised in MAX and that the device number is correct. i have a couple of 6008 and have run them alot without any trouble so it must be the way you have things setup. Could you post a section of the code that gives  you the error. also try running each device in max with the test panels for each one and see if it works there.

  • HP TOOLS needs to be reconnected cut off accidently

My backup and storage disk was disconnected thru some volume thing,On HP TOOLS I need to reconnect it fix it or something, Storage for backup is in the red. Im a new computer user PLEASE HELP ME 3 weeks ago this happened

    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
    - Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

  • Can DAQ 6008 control degree of servo motor ?

Hi, I'm new using DAQ and LabVIEW. I've project to control degree of servo motor. can device NI-DAQ6008 control it? I ever used pwm example but I had some error before the program running it.
example motor servo which I want control.
    thank's

    Hello NMaolana
This is another thread that actually talks the same issue https://forums.ni.com/t5/Multifunction-DAQ/usb-6008-dc-stepper-servo-motor/td-p/2320144  and in there you can see that you can't do a proper control for a servo due to the jitter given the fact that this device only has software timed outputs. If you would like, read through said thread.

  • DAQ Advice needed

    Greetz All,
I'm working on a project with the following requirements and need some advice, as I haven't done a lot of DAQ work.
I need to monitor 4 TTL waveforms, looking for dropouts (missed pulses), count the pulses and compare waveform A to B, and C to D. The max frequency for the waveforms will be about 3kHz. Record all waveforms and the time if any waveform drops out of spec, and they want an on-screen o-scope to display all 4 waveforms. These last 2 requirements are not a problem, but I'll also need to monitor 2 currents, and control a power supply with VISA. And they would like to all this with one DAQ card to keep cost down and a laptop so it's portable.
I've been working on it for about a week now using a PXI-6071E since we haven't decided what to purchase for the laptop yet. My impression of what will be needed is this. Counter inputs to count the pulses. Analog In to display the waveforms and monitor the 2 currents. I'm not sure how I'll look for dropouts since the frequency will be varied from ~100-3000Hz.
The counter inputs are a question for me. On any card that has analog inputs, there are a max of 2 counters, as on my 6071E, and on the cards with more that 2 counters, there is no analog.
Now as I was experimenting with the counters, I discovered that I can switch the source selection on the Counter Source(STC).vi from PFI default to any of the 8 PFI lines, and reliably count events on any of the PFI lines. So what's the difference between the counter lines and the PFI lines, they seem to be capable of the same function. And if they are relatively the same, can I do simultaneous readings on 4 of the PFI lines.
So, can this be done on one card for a laptop (pcmcia or USB), and what card would that be. I could also use some help or examples on how handle comparing the waveforms. I have built a 4 channel scope that works on the analog in and should do all that is needed.
    We're using LabVIEW 6.0.2 and Win2K & 98.
    Thanks in advance.

    hello;

The data sheet also says the maximum sample rate for multiple channels is 10kS/s aggegate.  I take this to mean that the entire channel sweep is done at 10kHz.
You could always try it and see what happens.  Read all 8 channels as a waveform with the sample rate set to 10KHz and see what the dt is in the waveform.
