"DAQmxCreateTask" big delay !!

Hello,
I am working with the NIDAQmx driver with Visual Basic 6.0, my DAQ card is the PCI 6251, and I am using the "nidaqmx.dlb".
The problem is, the first time I create a task and a channel, the application take lots of time to start. Usually 5 to 6 seconds !!
After that, it works fine.
Is there any reason, or procedure to avoid this delay? Am I doing something wrong?

Yes- the first time you make a call to the driver the OS loads the libraries and initializes the system.
I don't know if there is a way to pre-load everything to eliminate that delay. The easiest thing to do is to make some throw-away call to DAQmx early in the program so that the delay comes at a time that's not critical. Ask it to read a property like the DAQmx version or get some other information about the system, just to make DAQmx load and initialize.

My first thought is are you doing any user authentication? If you add an access policy for a subnet do you still get the 30second pause on non-cached sites?

How to remove the big delays on adobe photoshop cc

I recently moove my photoshop cs6 to cc and I suffered from big delays.
Often struggles and my photoshop manipulations are not taken into account while it struggles. This is very problematic. For example, I often select multiple layers using a Shift + click and then move those layers. When photoshop struggles during the layer selection, the selection is not taken into account and I find myself moving a single layer. How to resolve this slowness? I currently reflected on going back to photoshop cs6.

I have a big delay in my real time pid control

since i don't have a digital input module i tried to use the serial port RS232 on my Crio to read the data from an absolute encoder in order to perform PID control for a dc motor, but the problem is that the data took too match time to be read; there is a big delay between the first read position and the next one,and when i change the slide controller the indicator took time to change, although it should be instantinouse, here is

Hi Moho,
Looking at your code I see a couple of things that might be causing the issue. How long is the delay that you are experiencing? You are trying to transfer 2000 bytes every loop which will cause some delay. You also have a lot of mathematical operations that can take time between loop iterations. Also what is the VI that you have manipulating your waveform? Have you looked into the PID VIs?

Kdm big delay with Xorg 7 & Nvidia

I just made a fresh install ( my first actually) with the latest Arch including XORG 7 m the Nvidia binary driver and KDE 3.5.1 .
Everything works , I'm very impressed with the Arch boot speed but there's a really big problem with KDM starting . There's a huge lag , a delay between X starting and seeing the Nvidia splash screen and KDM appearing on the desktop .
It seems to load something from the harddrive but I don't think it should take that long . I previously never had this problem with KDE in Gentoo , Kubuntu or PCLOS ( but didn't try it with KDE 3.5.1 and Xorg 7 though ) ,
Any ideas ?

I checked and yes DMA is on and the mode seems to be udma6 :

Maybe this is just normal because I see that when I restart the X server without rebooting everything happens much faster ( probably takes everything from RAM ) .
Still I don't really like and I'm wondering if I can't somehow speed it up .
Could it have something to do with the fonts or the font server . Hope I'm not talking nonsense here .
I find it very odd that it now takes that much to start x but maybe it's just because Arch boots up so fast .

Why does this AppleScript cause a big delay in Mavericks?

I use FileMaker for my database needs. I have been using an AppleScript to create a calendar event from FM to my Calendar using Apple Calendar. This has worked flawlewssly in Mac oSX 10.7 and 10.8. Every since Mavericks, the script still works (creating no error) but takes about 1 minute to complete. The funny thing is that if I run the script from the AS editor, it works just fine. The FileMaker does have access to my calendar in the security area.
Any thoughts?

Jk to ajp / windows to solaris 10 / big delay on socket read

I'm having a delay problem only on Solaris 10 using the Tomcat connector from IIS to Solaris.
I've posted this issue on a couple of Java and Solaris forums with no luck. Hopefully, this forum will have the correct audience.
I have:
- IIS 6, Windows 2003 Server on dual PIII with jk 1.2.15 installed and working.
- Solaris 10 on Sun E420R with Quad Processors with jBoss / Tomcat version 4.0.3SP1 installed and working.
There is a significant delay in page loading that occurs randomly (every 10-20 clicks) which lasts for 10-18 or so seconds.
I've traced it to a read() method in the ChannelSocket.java file on the AJP (i.e. Tomcat / Solaris 10) side.
The delay always occurs while the receive() method is reading the header portion of the message.
The length of the header that the read is trying to read is 4 bytes. The call to BufferedInputStream()
will block until it gets these 4 bytes of the header (10-18 seconds). I've modified the Java code
and put a call in to available() before and after the read. The before returns 0 and the after returns 1138 or so.
I've tried every imaginable combination of configs on the IIS side to get around the problem ... and then
some kernel TCP/IP configs on the Solaris side ... too many to list here.
The problem seems to be isolated to Solaris ... because Linux, XP, Windows 2003 server all work without this problem.
My question is this ... is there any thing that I can configure to have this read return faster?
Changes to the Solaris kernel ... some config parameter ... ?? Anyone experience this before?
I'll gladly list the things I've tried to get some idea of how to solve this.

You have to run "make clean" and then make.
Probably the files could not be compiled because of errors in the first place.
Try to download the source for apache and compile it for the current platform, otherwise you could get wrong settings.

Second screen - big delay in develop mode.

I got a two Display Setup.
There is a huge delay when editing the pictures in Develop Mode from Screen 1 and 2. Its almost 2 Seconds delay to every change.
How can that be changed so its quicker.. I actually do not need the small image on the 1st sceen.

I tried opening it with Reader installed on the same machine and no change in time delay.
Independent of the file size I get the same delay.
I'm using AES 128.
After some debugging, I conclude that the delay is ocurring when the client waits for the server to send back the key (I think).
I sniffed the TLS traffic between the client and server and there is clearly a time lapse of more than 10 sec between the first exchanges(which is sending
information from client to server) and the last exchanges (getting info back). Do you have any clues on this ? What might cause the delay in response from the server ?

Big Delay. Very Low Starting 2005 PL08

Last Week, Tuesday, I Upgraded my B1 2004 pl23 to the B1 2005 PL 08, because tomorrow I've got a webex for the Ramp-up of the SP01.
Actually my partner solved the problems with the addon's but we still have problems when we start SB1 2005, it's last around 2 or 3 minutes to start and another 2 or 3 minutes to start the ALD addons. We have this delay just in the client PC, nor in the server. And this happens like I said, when I start the aplication or when I changes the companys. It's seem to have a lot of work in the net. Could be a problem with the license server? Or a problem with Corba?
Always when one of the clients stars (we have SB1 in just to PC's), it's show a message that said: 'The addons version need to ugrade the database. Upgrade of database maid to version 6.80.1.1'.
But the addons are all versions 6.80.0.xx.
Please Try to help, cause It's so tedious.

I am sorry for not answering your question, but I just want to tell you that we are having the same problem on SBO 2005 PL 06. It is working 100% at another client, but at one client it is (as you say) fast on the server and very slow (2-3 minutes) to open SBO (after login) until the main menu shows. I have also done some tests and it does exactly the same if there are no add-ons installed.

Big delays reading or saving files from Nas BetApp fas 2020

I support a Newsletters magazine. They own 5 Imacs 20" -mid 2007, and early 2008. running Mac OS 10.6, and Adobe Creativ suit 4. From time to time, they experience large delays reading or writing files to the Nas NetApp fas 2000. The network is 1 GB. they don't have this problem on PC's.
Any idea how to stop these delays?

Are you absolutely sure the network is a bona fide gigabit one all the way?
We had problems with files taking forever to load from a network share. It turned out, that the IP phone which fed our Mac Pro through its built in switch was the culprit. Its switch was a mere 100Mbit capable one.

Big delay opening first image: ?

On opening first image, sniffer_gpu runs, takes 30-45 seconds to query the gpu. Then it terminates, and Photohop goes into "not responding" mode for 30-45 sec. After the first image, everything works fine. PS6 extended, I7 cpu, 64-bit, 32 gb ram, boucoup drive space available, nVidia 680M GPU with 4 gig ram. Card added to the support file, is recognized instantly by Premiere and After Effects, and everything used to work fine in Photoshop. This started a couple of weeks ago, without any apparent changes to the system or software. Ideas please?

Why so big the delay in FMS3?

I have been using a service of FMS 3 for a week and I have
notice a BIG delay between the audio/video in the player and the
source of information from the computer. We are talking about
something like for example: You are playing Live a playlist of
songs and the user(Web Browser) is listening to x song but the
computer already played that song 15 minutes ago.
If we talk about video is the same problem. I already did my
test before submit this post.
The thing is that the previous system is using Windows Media
and this is not happening.
This happen in our first test using Satellite Internet and
also using Comcast 1.5 Mps Internet. So I don't what you think
anymore.
If someone know at least what I need to do I will really
appreciate the help.

This is a tough one. One thing to look at is the client side
buffers and server side buffers. A live stream usually drops data
to "catch up" to streamtime - buffers size allocated so Im not sure
how a song can be playing from 15 min ago...
Are the users that connect up rebuffering alot?
When troubleshooting try to find the least common
denominator; see if accessing the stream on the same network is an
issue. If it's successful, keep moving further away to determine
what point the bottleneck lies in your network.

Huge delay in Printing Crystal Report Layout

Good Day Experts,
I am experiencing big delays when printing a document that makes use of a Crystal Report Layout Design.
For example,
The Sales Quote is set to automatically print when added by the user.
When clicking 'Add', SAP freezes up and only about 30 seconds later does the printer finally print the document.
During that time, the user cannot use SAP at all.
The layout does have a lot of fields and a few formulas here and there.
Logically, I am thinking that that is the reason for the delay, as SAP needs to calculate and populate those fields.
Is there any other way that I could speed up this process? Or if you know what might be causing this speed issue?

Delays in mail delivery

I've recently noticed big delays in the time that messages show up in my Mail app, sometimes hours after they were sent to me. Today I noticed that there were at least ten messages visible to me on the mac.com web site, but I couldn't get those messages until I forced a mailbox synchronization.
Is anyone else experiencing something similar? Any resolution to this?

I recommend you to do few testing to narrow-down the root cause
Does this mail delivery getting delayed only for external users or its both for internal and external users ?
How many Exchange servers you have ? Is this a combination of HUB & CAS together if its 2013 or you have them Separately?
Do you have any antispam configured in your environment ?
Is there any antivirus installed in the exchange servers?
I would recommend you to run Get-TransportAgent and see the list of transport agents installed on your Exchange servers
As a part of testing i would suggest you to disable all the transport agents installed on the servers disable antivirus send a test email and check if the delay is happening or not . Also disable the exchange antispam if its installed and see if the mail
delay exists. Because mostly any transport agents acting in the categorization part might be causing this problem if their configuration has any problem.
Let us know the results so that we can proceed further.
