Dashboards - More than one level deep

Is there a way to create a Dashboards more than one-level deep. Currently I can put a Dashboard within another Dashboard (Getting the flyout menu when I select the top-level dashboard in the Interface). However, what if I want to go one level deeper? So have Dashboard Header show as the link, a flyout menu with Dashboard 1, then another flyout menu off of Dashboard 1 having the link for Dashboard 2.
I saw this tag DashboardMaxBeforeMenu but don't know if this resolves the issue above as I tried to implement and still was not able to set up the above scenario.

Gantt subbtasks - more than one level?

Hi,
can project gantt show more than one level of subtasks? I can expand just first level tasks, but when I clik on the second level, the "+" sign changes to a flashing circle and that's it...

I just noticed I can expand all levels if I select View->.....->Expand all
So, it should I guess, but it doesn't.
I also noticed that an exception is thrown if I try to collapse a 2nd level parent task. Here's the exception:

File conversion for more than one level of substructure

I have the following file format that needs to be converted into XML, but because it has more than one level of substructure I'm not able to give the correct file conversion parameter

Find parent/child relationships At More Than 2 Levels

Does anyone have a solution to find parent/child relationship for data more than 2 levels deep?
I have a solution when there's a simple parent-child relationship but not when there's a grandparent-parent-child relationship or deeper.
Ex. I have a table company_parent_child that stores the relationship betwen a company and it's direct parent.

I need to create such a view or another temp table so that when I pass the parent ID, I will pull all the children on all levels. In addition, and this is the tricky part, when I join this new temp table or view to another data table without any parameters, the data should not be duplicate, ie. each company ID should appear only once.

start by learning CONNECT BY/START WITH. once you've
written a query to read the grandparent-parent-child
relationship, then come back with more questionsYes. we did look heavily into connect by/start with, in fact along with "connect_by_iscycle","connect_by_isleaf","connect_by_root" as well.
Our dilemma is that when a joint is made between those two tables mentioned above TEMP_COMPANY_PARENT_CHILD and TEMP_JOIN, we are not able to create a view that would contain distinct company_ids, each mapped to a unique order id.
The problem is we cannot have this type of joint when there are "n" level relationship between companies (or company_id). Basically, I think we should have our unique order id mapped to a unique key. This unique key should be a specialized key that we can know at anytime the entire path of the ancestry which we can know by sys_connect_by_path(company_id,'/') path.
How do we know which path to take. The best bet is to "connect_by_isleaf" and just have the distinct "deep" path which form the specialized unique key. If you need help on this let me know. (A hint, sort by LEVEL and then do a rank after partitioning by company id and then filter the records by rank = 1, try this one!!!)
So, we will eventually have a joint (say Table X) like

I think this is the best view we can have to maintain a joint with no repetition along PATH as well as ORDER_ID. If you have any other thoughts, let me know.
Then you query by path using INSTR to pull records by company_id.
for example, if you want to get all the children for company_id "10" you would just say
select * from X where INSTR(PATH,10,1,1) <> 0
or if you want to get all the children for company_id "11" you would just say
select * from X where INSTR(PATH,11,1,1) <> 0
What do you think? Has anyone used the path information for traversing the tree? Or is there any article that tells us how to make effective use of sys_connect_by_path(company_id,'/') path.

Filtering content in Bridge using more than one keyword.

I have thousands of images in one master folder on an external hard-drive. I have applied many keywords to the images but I cannot find a way to filter the images any more than one layer deep. Some images have more than one keyword applied and I would like to be able to exclude one of those keywords from the search to reveal the other.
For example, I have 300 images that all have the keyword "Arroway" (Arroway is the content provider FYI). 150 of these images have the keyword "Concrete" assigned, the other 150 have "wood" applied. I would like to be able to sort by Arroway, and then by material type. Is this possible?

Not by filtering but doable with Edit > Find

Need help: Dimensional column has assoc with more than 1 level

Hi,
I am trying to have multiple drill paths for a single dimension. For example, the Date dimension should be navigable by the following hierarchies:
DateDimension

So, in other words, in Answers I should be able to add 'Calendar Year' to my report, display results, and then click down the path Calendar Year -> Calendar Quarter -> Calendar Month -> Day OR Calendar Year -> Day.
However, when I model this in the Admin tool, it allows it, but then I add the column in Answers and get a runtime error:
+[nQSError: 14064] Dimensional column [column name] has associations with more than one level+
This is possible in BO and other tools. If it is not possible in Oracle BI EE, then one alternative would be to have two separate versions of 'Calendar Year' added to the report in Answers, each with their own drill path.
Any ideas???

Create the Hierarchy Year --> Quarter--->Month-->Week-->Day in rpd as usual manner .But in Year report use navigate option in column properties add Quarterly Report (Caption it as 'Quarter')and Day level report(Caption it as 'Day') in navigate option.So when you click on Year column it i will prompt to select either Quarter or Day and when u select Quarter u will have normal drill functionality from Quarter to Month to Week and Day.Hope this helps you.

Having placed more than one top-level VI in builder, is there a way to programmatically call the second application?

Builder allows for more than one Top-Level VI. The resulting Executable launches both applications at once. If I terminate one application, is there anyway to launch it again programmatically?

You could monitor the names of all the VI's in memory. If the one you want running is not in the list, you can launch it dynamically.

Activate more than one Aggregation Level

Hello experts,
We use the Integrated Planning and we have more than 80 Aggregation Levels. When the MultiProvider is deactived because of adding a new InfoObject, all our Aggregation Levels are deactivated.
Is there a possibility to activate more than one Aggregation Level at once? Maybe a special report?

How to create an iBOT which contains more than one dashboard page

Hi,
I want to create an iBOT which delivers the content in HTML or PDF format, but to contain more than one dashboard page. The idea is that I have several dashboards and I want to send by e-mail (by iBOT) most important pages from different dashboards.
Is it possible to send by a single e-mail different pages from different dashboards? I cannot find an way to accomplish this in the content of delivery in iBOT.

Upgraded to iOS 6 and now I can't open anything in the kindle app? I have to say that I have had my ipad3 for 6 months and intensely dislike the problems with using it. Also is there any way of opening more than one screen as it is hopeless otherwise?

I Have had my iPad for 6 months as I cannot access my work emails using windows. I have to say that it is the most unhelpful device I have ever used and although it looks like there isn't an answer for some of the questions I have asked below, I thought I would try!
1) I have upgraded to ios6 and the kindle app will open but crashes and disappears when I try to access a book?
2) is there any way I can open more than one page at a time, as opening one at a time is hopeless?
3) Is there any way you can replicate the right click function on word? As pasting and copying on the iPad is irritating to say the least!
4) why can't my Samsung 11 phone connect to my iPad via Bluetooth? A they can't seem to 'see' each other? I may have turned a setting off when I was recently abroad and didn't want huge roaming charges.
5) Why do the submit buttons on some websites not work and how can I get them to? I never have a problem with windows, but it is often a problem with the iPad.
6) I have several websites which I have built and usually upgrade on the windows desktop, usually through Internet explorer, but I can't access the sites properly on the iPad (I can see them but can't alter them) and when sending emails through the websites they won't show the page and I can't navigate the page (the size of the email page is bigger than the iPad screen, but I can't either shrink the page to size or move the page around as you normally would on the pad, any ideas?
7) finally, when roaming abroad recently, I had no problems using the wifi, but when trying to use the cellular data (using the roaming function) I could not get it to work? The ipad seemed to be connected to the network with no problems, but wouldn't actually update the emails? I tried turning it on and off, but that didn't make a difference. My kindle and mobile phone (both also on 3G ) worked great, it was just (as usual) the ipad playing up.
8) when wanting to alter part of a sentence, I can't always get the cursor in the right place? Sometimes it is simple the wrong line, but often it will only go at the end or start of a word and not where I want it. Is there any way of making it more exact? Again I never have a problem with moving the cursor on windows, either by mouse or on the touch screen function on windows 7. Any ideas? As after pressing the screen multiple times I just want to throw it out of the window!
IT might just be that I don't have the correct settings (I am a technophobe) but I absolutely hate the iPad and only have it for work emails, it is so annoying that I can get my mobile phone and kindle3g to work fine, but always have problems with the iPad. I am sure it could be good (and for reading emails on the go in the uk it is great, as I like the key board) but it just seems to make everything else difficult.

Try rebooting your iPad, that should fix he issue. I that doesn't work, delete the app and re-download it. The Kindle books should all be in he Kindle cloud services and you can get them again. I have an iPad2 w/ Kindle app and it works just fine - no issues.

Page as in a kindle book way? turn iPad to landscape position from portrait position. If, however, you mean open more than one application at a time, then no. And not hopeless, as it takes a bit of time to get used to, going from a desktop/laptop format to tablet format.

It's actually fairly easy. Press down on the word, then you can expand by drawing your finger to cover word/sentence/paragraph/page, hit select or select all then it gives you the option to cut, copy, paste, define. If you want to use a word processing app on the iPad, Pages is a good application.

It's the connection on your phone. Samsung Galaxy SII? Android software? What you have to do is go to the phone's settings and connect via wireless, not Bluetooth. Go to System Settings (on phone) and under Wireless and Networks click 'more' and go to the Tethering and Portable Hotspot option. Set up your mobile wifi hotspot, name it though it will probably come up with 'AndroidAP', choose a WPA2 security level and put in a password. Go back to previous screen and turn on 'Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot' box. Then on your iPad in the Settings - Wi-Fi section, it should then recognize your phone for tethering. If it's a Windows Phone 7, I don't know the layout of that software, but presumeably similar.

Sometimes the issue is with the website design, not all websites are optimized for mobile devices - not just iPad but also Android devices. It happens. They're getting there, but occasionally the page might need a refresh.

It depends on what you use to build the websites on the computer. Recommend a free program on the computer called CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor. I don't recommend using IE period; Firefox or Chrome are my choices on Windows machines. I have two websites that I manage, both using this program. I'm assuming that when you mean you can't access the sites on the iPad you mean to update them? Ostensible there are apps to let you do this. What format are the sites? Without seeing what exactly you mean and what you want to do, it's hard to explain.
As for seeing full page while emailing within a site, turn iPad to portrait mode, and try to finger-pinch touch the screen to see if that will bring the fuller page into view. Other option is opening a second tab with same website and just go between tabs to reference material.

If you were outside the US or Canada, my guess is the problem lies within the SIM card in your iPad. If you were outside North America, there are different band levels - I'm guessing you have a SIM thats locked to a particular provider. Band level frequencies differ per country/continent, so a SIM card that will work in Canada/US will not likely work in UK/Europe/Asia/Australia, etc. you will be able to get your emails again when back on a wifi network. Mobile phone may have a different type SIM card (GSM/HSPA) from your iPad SIM. Also, check your email settings.
8) when wanting to alter part of a sentence, I can't always get the cursor in the right place? Sometimes it is simple the wrong line, but often it will only go at the end or start of a word and not where I want it. Is there any way of making it more exact? Again I never have a problem with moving the cursor on windows, either by mouse or on the touch screen function on windows 7. Any ideas? As after pressing the screen multiple times I just want to throw it out of the window!
Moving the cursor on a sentence is a matter of putting your finger on the screen where you want it. It's exceptionally easy to do. I'm using the Notes app to write this whole segment and I just need to put my finger where I want to change things and presto it's ready for me to change where I want it.
Here's a solution: sell your iPad (after you wipe your data off it) to someone who will appreciate it, and put your money towards the Windows Surface Tablet out later this year/early next year, where you can (reportedly) connect a mouse to it. It will have some of the Windows 7/8 functionality that you're more familiar with, or get a netbook.

Need help trying to have more than one delegate calendar display in iCal and on mobile devices

I have several calendars that are under my user name in Google. They all work as delegates and life is good.
I'm trying to set up the local school with a calendar for the sports schedule as well as a separate one for district events like school board meetings and would like to be able to add one for the holidays, exams and things of that nature. The sports calendar works but I can't figure out how to add the second caledar to iCal or my iPhone. It shows shared but doesn't appear as a possible delegate in iCal and will not load on the iPhone.
Google has the output to allow more than one calendar to display on a website but syncing at the level I want with the "i" apps isn't obvious.
Am I missing something? I really don't want one very cluttered master calendar for the school. Being able to turn on and off the various types of calendar will make it much easier to manage.

Some pages will run text and pictures together, like a car rear-ending another or a train pile up. Other pages will cut an image or text short, i.e. it will display a portion of the top of the image or text but not the rest. This happens on Amazon for example, the section where it says "Customers who looked at this also looked at" will allow only a certain amount of the upper portion of the description immediately below the picture of the product but below that section everything is fine until I get to another section displaying more products and their descriptions and then it cuts the bottom portions off again. I've noticed this behavior mostly in the sections with product photos, the text sections seem okay. YouTube also displays this behavior. It's even doing it on this page right now. Below this box I can read "The more information you can provide the better chance your question will be answered " , but directly below that in the next sentence I can see the start of it with "Troublshootin" and the "Automatically Add" in a green field covering the "g". The next clear text is "A window will open in the top corner. Click Allow, and then click Install. If the automated way doesn't work, try these manual steps." I tried turning of pre-fetching, clearing history, cookies, and cache, scanning for malware with Avast and Windows Defender all to no avail. It began when I upgraded from dial up to DSL via AT&T Uverse. I have a Motorola NVG510 modem. The modem was replaced an hour ago along with new dedicated lines and DSL/Phone splitter from the box by an AT&T technician to make sure my incoming lines were up to par. He ran a connection test and verified everything is up to standards. IE does not display this behavior. I am running Firefox20.0.1 and all previous versions have acted the same way since I upgraded to DSL about 3 months ago.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" in case the current setting is causing problems.

Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with text not being displayed properly.
