Dashprompts to be displayed in BIP

Hello,
My requirement is: There is one BIP report template exist in our Dashboard. We need to display the Dashboard filters in BIP Template. I know we can write in Answer Request using Presentation Variables but not sure how to implement it in BIP rtf template.

Hi,
I did some thing similiar to this before and blogged it here, http://kirti-bi-solutions.blogspot.com/2009/06/passing-parameters-from-obiee.html.
Feel free to brose it and see it helps you.

    Hi,

check whether in the report, you enable the user document cache option, remove that.

  • Essbase MDX Performance

    Hello all,
I am developing a report with obiee 10.1.3.4 sitting on top of Essbase and I am developing some reports which i am running into issues lately. The MDX generated by OBIEE is causing some performance issues especially in the reports where we use Rank function. I am aware of work arounds present(Christian Blogs) to get there by directly filtering in the MDX in the case of Rank function. But in general i believe there is some patch available which increases the MDX performance on a whole. So i just wanted to know if any one out there are able to achieve success with any of those patches related to MDX perfomance. Also let me know if it does some sort of tuning to the MDX query
    Thanks

    Hi Prash,
nope, nothing yet. 10.1.3.4.1 is just around the corner but from what I hear, it's not that "quantum leap" needed in the OBIEE/Essbase integration. That's definitely only going to hit us with OBIEE 11.
Influencing the MDX generated my OBIEE isn't an easy task, unless you go and replace every column with an EVALUATE function. And that's beside the point of OBIEE.
One alternative you may want to think of: use BIP to create your reports by writing pure MDX and then displaying the BIP reports on the dashboards.

  • Migration of SAP Business Objects BI Platform 4.1 from Windows(OS), SQL Server(DB) to AIX(OS) and Oracle(DB).

    Dear All,
I have SAP Business Objects BI Platform 4.1  running on window servers and sql server database. We want to migrate this to  AIX and oracle.
Can you please share what should be the best approach to carry on this migration?
    Regards,
    Asleh

    Hi Mohammed,
Regarding your Query below is the suggestion:
Step I: Preparing for moving BOBJ application from Windows to AIX
There are some tasks that you need to perform:
    To configure the existing deployment
Perform inventory and cleanup, to ensure that only the required content is moved.
Run the Repository Diagnostic Tool to detect any inconsistencies between the File Repository and the CMS repository. The upgrade management tool will not run successfully if there are inconsistencies between the File Repository and the CMS repository.
Identify any content that the upgrade management tool can't upgrade, along with the process required to upgrade that content. There is some content like Voyager Workspaces or Desktop Intelligence documents that require manual intervention before running the upgrade management tool.
Back up existing repositories, including the system database and the Input and Output File Repository Servers.
Back up custom web applications, HTML pages, and scripts in your existing deployment.
To configure the planned BI 4.x deployment
Setup and configure the Middleware and ODBC connections.
Ensure that your machines meet the deployment system's requirements, you can find information about the supported platforms in the Platform Availability Matrix (PAM) http://service.sap.com/support -> Help and Support -> SAP BusinessObjects Support -> Documentation -> Supported Platform s/PARs -> SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x
    Step II:
You can use database backup & FRS backup (Offline) in new environment (AIX) to deploy BOBJ 4.x Version
Take the help of DBA to move CMS & AUDIT database backup from SQL Server (Windows) to Oracle (AIX)
Test the Universe, reports, Check the rights
    Step III:
If you are configured any SSO then make sure that same configuration is deployed in new environment (AIX).
Test the user SSO in new environment (AIX).
    Or
You can also use Promotion manager to move the contenet from Windows (Business Objects Application) to UNIX (Business Objects Application)
Only prerequisite is Business Objects Application version should be same.
You can copy content only 50 Object at a time in One Job
    FRS Offline backup is required.
Necessary files regarding custom web applications, HTML pages, and scripts in your existing deployment.

  • BIP in Oracle EBS R12.1 - Characters displayed as question marks

    Hi,
We have recently upgraded to EBS 12.1.1, and have noticed that since doing so some characters in PDF outputs (from BIP reports run in EBS) are being displayed as question marks.
The Templates are created using the font Arial, and the characters that are being displayed incorrectly are 'long dashes' "–" (\endash) and where Microsoft Word has group three full stops together "..." (\'85)
An Example, the text in MS Word and in the PDF when run using Oracle BI Publisher Desktop is:
    Three full stops ……………
    A long dash –
    A short dash -
However the output in PDF when running the report in EBS is:
    Three full stops ?????
    A long dash ?
    A short dash -
Has anyone come across this before, or does anyone know of a way to resolve it. I have tried uploading an Arial font file and creating mappings (although Arial already exists as a seeded font file) but this has not resolved the issue.
    Regards
    Carl

    Hello,
Check if you have all necessary fonts under your jre/lib/fonts ($AF_JRE_TOP and $OA_JRE_TOP) on all your web and concurrent nodes. Or, try to copy the fonts from $FND_TOP/resource (check post install steps for XMLP 5.6.3). Mid-tier bounce needed after copy.
    Hope this helps.

  • Authentication Error when displaying BIP in Dashboards, displayname

    Hi Experts,
I am using BIP 10.1.3.4.1 and facing 2 challenges:
    1) logging into publisher directly I get a display_name which is my user-id, not a display-name - f.ex.: 'Welcome, ax25' instead of 'Welcome, Andy'
any idea where to fix this?
    2) more severe:
logging into BIP directly I can see all the reports I created
trying to view the same report on a BIEE dashboard page gives me the following error:
"The report cannot be rendered because of an error, please contact the administrator
    Error Detail:
    Authentication error. Details: "
There are no additional details listed.
    Any idea why this happens?
    Thanks for your help
    Regards
    Andy

I have managed to work out what the issue was.
Basically the previous developer had extended the web application which allowed me to login using Windows authentication instead of the claims-based authentication

  • Displaying BIP report (ByteArray) in new browser window after runReport

    We have BIP 11g standalone.
Our UI is built in Flex / Flash Builder 4 and we are using runReport to execute our BIP reports.
For now, we am working with reports that are HTML output (Excel output comes later).
The ReportResponse object is returned successfully with a populated reportBytes (as ByteArray).
I am unsure how to display the reportBytes HTML report in a browser window (although I've found a number of blogs detailing in Java how to display a report, or save it to PDF etc and using OutputStream).
Can someone please advise how (in Flex/FlashBuilder) to take the ByteArray which is the resulting BIP HTML report and display it in a browser window?
I've been trying with URLRequest and about:blank vs image.load(bytes) etc but nothing is working.
    Thanks

    Hi Micky.
If you have the spool number of the printed billing document you can use
component WDK_SPOOL_TO_PDF in order to display spool as PDF.
Just transfer spool number and format to default inbound start up plug.

  • Minutes, Seconds not displaying correctly in BIP server

    Hello:
I am on standalone Release 10.1.3.4
I use the below code to generate my dates in my RTF template.
    <?xdoxslt:sysdate('DD-MON-YYYY HH:MI:SS')?>
It works correctly the first time, we run this report from the BIP server....... but from then onwards, the minutes and seconds are frozen.
So when I run it again, the minutes and seconds remain the same ....
Please note that this works correctly when I run it in standalone RTF on my desktop...
Any help is appreciated ... Yesh

    Hey Yesh
Make sure you have turned off the document cache for the report. Its controlled by a check box on the Report node of the report editor. If its checked then the cached document will just be shown and the date will not be updated.

    Hi Tim,
    Thanks for the quick reply.
The so called 'Excel templates' have been demonstrated to clients in this year's Oracle Open House (San Fransisco) i guess, and it is from there, that the need to develop such complex reports have come. It seems there was a demo that was given out to all the participants on this new technology. It would be great if you can share the demo with me or send me same/its link to my mail id ([email protected]). It would be extremely helpful in mapping the requirements with the upcoming tools from Oracle.
Expecting the demo on this Excel templates from you. Awaiting the release of the new version soon.
    Thanks,

  • Can't display Georaster in Oracle Maps

    Please help!
I'm trying to display a georaster in Oracle Maps, without success. The georasters in question display normally in PCI's Focus, eSpatial's iSMART, and MapBuilder preview, but nothing is display in Oracle Maps.
    I have copied jai_codec.jar, jai_core.jar, jai_imageio-1.1.2.jar into
D:\APPSVR\j2ee\MapViewer\applications\MapViewer10131\web\WEB-INF\lib. I don't get any errors in mapviewer.log set to finest (appended to bottom of post).
I'm using AS 10.1.3.1.0, MapViewer 10.1.3.1 from patch 6453515, and the 10.1.0.3.1 enterprise database.
In Oracle Maps I have this code:
         foi = new MVThemeBasedFOI('MOSAIC2','MOSAIC2');
         this.mapview.addThemeBasedFOI(foi);
    The georaster has spatial extents:
    SQL> SELECT g.GEORASTER.spatialextent FROM MOSAICS g WHERE g.MOSAICID=2;
    GEORASTER.SPATIALEXTENT(SDO_GTYPE, SDO_SRID, SDO_POINT(X, Y, Z), SDO_ELEM_INFO,
    SDO_GEOMETRY(2003, 8307, NULL, SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1, 1003, 1), SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(-83.5357, 31.4825, -83.5357, 31.472635, -83.5357, 31.462765, -83.52891, 31.462765, -83.522115, 31.462765, -83.522115, 31.472635, -83.522115, 31.4825, -83.52891, 31.4825, -83.5357, 31.4825))
The spatial extent is in USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA and is indexed:
    SQL> select * from USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA where TABLE_NAME='MOSAICS';
    TABLE_NAME
    COLUMN_NAME
    DIMINFO(SDO_DIMNAME, SDO_LB, SDO_UB, SDO_TOLERANCE)

    8307
    The georaster has metadata:

    Hi Bruce,
for GeoRaster themes you can define a specific pyramid level to render, or you can leave the pyramid level null on the theme definition, and in this case MapViewer calculates the best level to render. The second option is recommended as it avoids loading unnecessary data given the current display parameters. If you are seeing your image get blocked, most likely at this zoom level and up you have reached the highest pyramid level of the GeoRaster. Even in MapBuilder if you keep zoom in, you get a blocked image after reaching the highest resolution level.

  • Not to display certain data in cloums

I have column name project in the BIP rtf template.
When run, it has fields like
    -unspecified
    0000016772
    983000000
    -unspecified
    -unspecfied
When i run the report I dont want to display all rows which shows -unspecified. I dont want to delete the row but just stop it from displaying...

You can filter out the data using conditional logic or filter out data within the loop. I have sent a reply to the email I received from you. Take a look and let me know if that resolves your issue.
    Example: <?for-each:G_1[Column7!='- Unspecified']?>
    Hope that helps.

  • In fusion BI Publisher Enterprise only the data having US as language in tl table are geting displayed.

    Hi,
I am using Oracle Business Intelligence 11.1.1.7.10.
In my Dataset  sql have  condition as "tl_table.language = USERENV('LANG')".So it should fetch the data as per the userenv language.
But it fetching only the column having the  US as language in tl table.I tested  the select USERENV('LANG') from dual  by creating a demo datamodel ,it getting only US even after I have logged in using other language than US en .Just for testing I removed the "tl_table.language = USERENV('LANG')" condition than it fetched  all the column. The web pages are ok the text  are displaying in logged in language.
My requirement is that if I have logged in to BIP  using Korean language  than it should fetch all the column having Korean(KO) as language in tl table.
