Data Merge, description field data with comma in text

I work with Data Merge, but my description field data have comma in text, occurring a problem when load to Indesign, when i exclud de field description with comma the action occur perfectly. Have solunction to this?

Hi Peter, i dont have problems with =concatenate on excel, and i think who you formula is wrong. i use exactly =CONCATENAR(A2&","&B2&","&C2) and works perfectly.
My problem is with commas in texts, see comma B2
indesign recognizes it as the delimiter and wraps the text to another field, ok?
i use quotes eg: B2( "Dias melhores, para sempre") to delimiter text like the example
when I load the data source InDesign does not recognize the quotes and breaks lines
the text "Dias melhores, para sempre" have to show on <<slogan>> but

Would like so to seek for you advice on the above mention topic. How to display the data with the same text and key using function module 'VRM_SET_VALUES'. From my testing by writing a program, this function module will only show the text and key if both have different data. Please find the coding as below. Is the normal behaviour of this function module? How to overcome this problem? Thanks in advance.

This surely seems to be a bug to me(if not by design), did you check for any SAP notes? Perhaps a front end trace can help(Note 407743) !

Data Merge a Font Color with the actual text

I am absolutely new to Java Scripting and have been away from programming for a number of year.
I am trying to data merge chacteristics of the data being merged. Is this possible?
A quick example would be to have a data source that has text for a simple text box (easy to merge) and other fields that contain the CMYK color values that I want that text to be in.
Can someone please let me know if this would even be possible in InDesign? If so, how hard a script is this to write?

I have a feeling the user is talking about the notification bubble - which incorporates the sender's details on the top of the message (it will look like they're bunched together). In this case since the receipient does not have the user as a contact, the phone number is shown.
In the case where it has disappeared - the user is now looking into the messages app and only see the message and the phone number separate..

SQL to match a single value in a field with comma-delimited text

I have a column that can contain none, one or many recordIDs
(from another table) stored as comma-delimited text strings (i.e.,
a list). I need to retrieve all records that match a single value
within that list.
For example, if I want to match all values that equal
recordID 3, and I use ... WHERE MyColumn IN ('3') ... , I will get
all records that have EXACTLY 3 as the value of MyColumn, but not
any MyColumn records whose values include 3, if they are instances

I have a dataset with numbers. I already set the column type to "number".
I want to format the number data with commas and decimals. I found a way to add decimals, but I'm still very confused how to do commas and to combine that with the decimal formatting.
Also, how do I apply that to a repeat region in my spry region?

I found this on one of the forum questions.
Excel dont preserve the trailing zeros.
try opening the xcel and type 5.0000 and tab out, it wont preserve the trailing zeros after decimal.
try finding out how to disable the option in excel. if you do that, you will see what you send out from the report.
But you can try to convert the number into a text by trying to append a space at the beginning. See if that would work.

Populating description field in selection-screen

Hi Experts,
My WD report has a selection-screen with select-options and parameters built using IF_WD_SELECT_OPTIONS.
One of the select-options has a search help, but the value it returns is a guid, so I want to have a new read-only description field, populated with the description of the selected value, next to the input field for the guid.
How can I do this?
I tried adding a new read-only parameter field and populating it in WDDOMODIFYVIEW but I got a short dump when I tried to set the value, because the new field is not in the context of the component controller.

Hi Ben,
You will have to define the new field in the context and then programatically bind the value of the description field to this attribute.
But ideally, you can have a structure, which the two fiels (guid & description), and define a search help which is mapped to the structure, then you do not need to do any programming, the description field should get populated automatically.

I have LiveCycle Designer 8.0 and I didn't find a forum for it so just point me in the right direction if this is not the place.
I have a couple of questions with merging data with Livecycle PDFS
1. XDP is the file format for merging data with LiveCycle created PDFs (FDF was with Acrobat)? if not, what is the format?
2. We want different colors of the same PDF without actually making the different PDFS, is there a way we can do this through the merging the data? For example: In the XDP file, we specify the color of the border of a rectangle. When the PDF merges with the data, will the PDF be able to change the border of the rectangle with the specified color?
3. Can a picture (a specific size) be merged in the PDF?

An XDP file is simply an XML file that packages a PDF file in XML, along with XML form and template data. Data can be merged from generic .xml or the XML version of FDF called XFDF.

How to merge source data with RFC response and post back again as Idoc

This is the requirement we have for an interface
The legacy application is sending Vendor master to PI 7.0
If it is new vendor then it is send as an Cremas Idoc into SAP. Legacy (New Vendor) -

If it is changed Vendor legacy will only send changed fields for that Vendor.In PI we would like to call an RFC which will return all the data for that changed Vendor Number and then merge the RFC response with changed data from legacy and then send it to SAP as Cremas Idoc again with all values.
I know these can be achieved using Proxy by custom Abap Code in SAP.But we would like to avoid it.
How can we achieve it?
1.RFC lookup - Shall we use these , when PI receives changed Vendor from legacy ,it will call RFC using RFC lookup and the response message from RFC lookup should be merged with source data .Is this possible?
2.Shall we achieve this using BPM ?Is it feasible and How?

I am not sure why you want to pull whole data from R3 and send back to R3.
you can follow any of these approach..
if you have any indicator for new/ changed cusotmer in the legacy data then trigger CREMAS IDoc accordingly.
mapping rules will be diffrent for New and changed CREMAS idoc.
otherwise just do RFC look up for each record then based on the output(new/changed) create or update cusotmer data through CREMAS IDoc.
when changing the customer through CREMAS no need to pass whole data again. it is enough if pass the changed fields. offcourse qualifier values for segments will differ.

Merging two Infoproviders data with FOX

I have a Multiprovider with the underlying Sales Quantity Realtime Infocube and Current Material Price DSO.
I want to read the Material Price for every Material and Plant combinations from Material Price DSO and write it into Sales Quantity Realtime Infocube with the help of FOX.
Sales Quantity Infocube looks like:
Marketing entity Statistical Material Sales District Customer Profit Center Plant Material Billing Qty and and an empty Current Std Price field which is to be filled from Material Price DSO.
Material Price DSO looks like:
Material Plant Current Std Price Currency
How can I merge this data with the help of FOX. I dont understand the functionality of Reference Data and how it operates. I tried this, but doesnt work.
Please provide your valuable inputs and it is very urgent for me.

Actually , one field(week_day) has 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 here 1--MON,2-- TUE like that.
another field has the date. based on that date, we have to go to that particular week and need to pick up the date by the above week_day. It should be in that week itself.

Data with "," overflows to the next field when importing data with DTW

Dear all,
When I tried to import data with DTW, for the data that includes ",", the data after "," all jumps into the next field after import.
E.g. Column A(memo): bank, United state
       Column B(project code): blank
       Result in SBO: Memo field : bank
                              Project code: United state
I have tried 2 ways.
1. Save the file as csv, and adding double quote(") at the beginning and ending of the data. However, it didn't work. It didn't work with single quote as well.
2. Save the file as txt, without amending the data at all.
It worked, however, in SBO, double quote is auto added, it becomes "bank, United state".
Please kindly advise how to handle such case.

Merging Inventory Data With Other Data

Dear Experts,
I have a requirement where in i am trying to combine Inventory Data with data from other datasource (0CO_PC_ACT_05).
I have designed the Bex query from both the sources. Now i have tried to merge the data at BO level by merging dimesions
plant and material. It works fine for small data set but there is performance issue as we have huge inventory data of more than 15 years.
Kindly suggest me the other methods through which i can merge the data.

For Material Ledger query the input is fiscal year/period and plant.

Uploading of cost center data with additional fields

Hi Gurus,
I have uploaded the cost center data. now my client has given same data with additional fields data(ORT01, ORT02, TXJCD). first time I have uploaded with LSMW IDOC methos COSMAS1. but in the same idoc the extra field not available. So i have tried recording method for KS02 to upload the data. but the data is not changed. in the sence the additional fields data not loading. while uploading i getting the probelm at TXJCD. it is getting a popup window. i was not able to handle that. Is there any other Basic IDOC to upload the data with all the fields in cost center. BAPI or Direct input program? Thanks in advance
