I am using a data page to populate information on several forms. Is there a way to link the data page to the other forms without the data page being saved with other documents

This can be done in principle but it requires creating a script to load the data whenever another file is opened. And of course, the file has to remain in a known location for it to work...

I have used the Data Page Wizards to create a query, edit and insert forms.
The forms are generated using the jbo: datatags. I would like to implement the following:
1. Query submit screen(hitlist)
Currently, the hitlist displays all the records in the rowset as stipulated by the RowSetIterate datatag. I need the hitlist to be a repeating page of 25 records, with links to navigate to first, next, previous, last. The left most field in the hitlist would be a hyperlink to a detail page.
I would like to implement the solution using the datatags as opposed to data webbeans.
Any information on how to manipulate any of the datatags required is appreciated.

From the wizard page that uses data from another wizard page, you obtain the wizard. From the wizard you get the desired page by calling the wizards getPage() method. As parameter you put the desireds wizard page name (a string that you passed while adding that page to the wizard. Cast the result to the desired page and check if the result is not null. Then you can get any data you want by calling any getter method of that page:
IWizard wizard = myPage.getWizard();
MyOtherPage otherPage = (MyOtherPage) wizard.getPage("other.page");
if (otherPage != null)
otherPage.getThis();
otherPage.getThat();

How do I stop the "Your Firefox is up to Date" page from loading after upgrading to ver. 6.0?

I upgraded from Firefox 3 point something or other (if I could remember exactly, I'd tell you) about 2 weeks ago to version 6.0. Thereafter, Firefox always starts up with two pages; one is a page declaring "Your Firefox is up to Date" and, on another tab, the default home page for Firefox. (the Google one)
It has continued to do that ever since, and I cannot find a way to stop the "Your Firefox is up to Date" page from loading at start-up.
I'm running a pc with WinXP Professional w/Service pak 3.

A suggestion for stopping the "Your Firefox is up to Date" page from loading at startup.
Use MozBackup for this; get it at http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/.

Download MozBackup and read through the howtogeek tutorial.
Exit Firefox.
Open MozBackup and start the procedure.
Follow the procedure except for a part where you RESTORE the profile; in the Components selection window in MozBackup, UNCHECK the "General settings" box (you remember the General tab in the Tools/Options window in Firefox where your homepage info is kept?)
Continue with the procedure to the end.
When you re-open Firefox, you should be getting the Google homepage without the "Your Firefox is up to Date" page.
Go to Tools/Options/Privacy tab. If it looks different than what it used to, ie: you used to have the option to not accept cookies, etc and now you don't, open the drop-down menu in the Hisory portion there and click on "Use custom settings for history", which will provide options for more control.

Up-to-date page not accepting serial number

I bought a new Mac from the Apple Online Store on 29th June. It is all registered and showing up as such on the Applecare look-up page.
When I now go to the Lion up-to-date page to try and retrieve my upgrade, it gives me the error message:
"Sorry, we can't find the serial number you provided. Please recheck your serial number and enter it again."
Anybody else seeing this, particularly if you purchased from the Apple Online Store?

Same here, ordered my MBP online, no dice with the up-to-date page. I did the manual proof of purchase thing the moment it failed. I've been waiting for 2 days and still they haven't verified my purchase . I heard it has something to do with the service being swamped. I thought it would be sorted by now.

Copy data pages from one workspace to another in JDev 10.1.2

I have a workspace-1 that has a model and viewcontroller projects. No, I created another wrokspace-2. I created the same model. When I tried to copy the data pages from workspace-1 to workspace-2, it didn't allow me. Can't this be done? Have I to create the datapage every time from the, Component pallette and Data controls.

In JDeveloper 10.1.2 there is no refactoring support for this. You can always copy the files on the filesystem and add them to the second workspace

KNOWN BUG???? data action changing to data page when reload of JDev

Hi All,
i'm using jdev 10.1.2, adf bc's, struts, jsp's.
I have a data action on my struts page which is bound to a method in the app module. I created a class for this data action which overrides the initialMethodParameters() method and gets the arguments for the method in the app module.
it all works perfectly fine, until i shut down JDev and load it up again. The data action has now turned into a data page. if i dbl click on it i get the create page dialog, instead of the data action class. obviously when i try run this data action, i get cannot display this page error.
I'm assuming/hoping that this is a bug. can anyone shed any light??

[POL-3207] a corrupted data page was detected

Hi,
I have SOA Suite 10.1.3.3 running on a windows host. Out of the blue, in the bpel console I started getting the following error message .
[POL-3207] a corrupted data page was detected
After some investigation I identified the issue was with the Oracle Lite database installed with the SOA suite, Which I am guessing is used for dehydration. To ensure that the problem is with the Oracle Lite database, I ran the following command and got the same error message.
C:\WORK\SOA_SUITE\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\Mobile\Sdk\BIN>msql administrator/

How to Hide Live Data Page

While accessing a Report, i am getting actual report as well as Live data page. For certain reports(Static data), i need to hide the Live Data page.
Is it possible to suppress it.

hello- In the current version, you cannot disable or hide the little livedata window. Engr is aware of this, and we plan to hide this in next version.

Java error "invalid data page"

Hi, I am hoping someone can please help me... I am trying to access a real site that show live scoring updates and everytime I try, it continually says that the site is loading in in my java console it states that the error is an "invalid data page". Is anyone familiar with this error, and if so please help!!

Adf data page problems

I'm traying to create a data page to display the result of a view in JDev 10g.
when i run the page....i got a page not found! what can be the problem?

do you run the page from the Struts editor ? Would be helpful to know how you call the page and what you changed in the default configuration. If you create a new DataPage, does the same happen ?

Data Action is converting in to data page with parameter="unknown"

Hi,
I have created one DataAction, and drag a method from appmoduleImpl on to the created data action. that method contains one parameter as well.
Now i want to write code in findForward() method on that action class (from gotoCode menu item). After all, if i rebuild it, it is changing to data page from data action with parameter="unknown" and giving me error. In page flow diagram also its showing data page image with Yellow coloured exclamatory mark on it.
Anybody have any idea ???

Single signon between JSP page and Net.Data page

I am trying to setup a single signon between a JSP page hosted on a tomcat server, and a Net.Data page hosted on an IBM HTTP server. Both of these servers are running on an AS400. The JSP page (www.jsppage.com/menu) contains a link to the Net.Data page (www.netData.com/page2). In order to access www.jsppage.com/menu the user needs to login. Once this happens I want them to be able to go back and forth between the two pages without having to log in when they switch servers. Page navigation is handled through myServlet.java so that when a user clicks on a link the request is forwarded on to myServlet.java where the servlet determines where to redirect the user to. The servlet uses
RequestDispatcher requestDispatcher = getServletContex().getRequestDispatcher(url);
requestDispatcher.forward(request, response);
to forward the user to the correct page. This works fine for the JSP pages but when I forward to www.netData.com/page2 I get an error telling me the address doesn't start with a /. I also need to send the user name and password for the net.data pages to avoid the second login window to popup.
I understand that the requestDsipatcher.forward() method directs the browser to a page that is relative to the current root directory. If I try to use response.sendRedirect(url) I get sent to the right page but the signon window pops up. I would appreciate any help.

The servers keep track of the user by storing a cookie on the clients computer. The cookie is only valid for the domain that created it.
So, to make this work you need to send the username and password as part of the sendRedirect. the forward() method won't work.
What you could do is create some code on the .net machine that accepts username, password and target URL as input. Once it receives those parameters it should perform the .net login procedure and redirect to the correct page.
In your servlet you should pass those parameters on to the .net machine and the user should get the correct page without ever seeing any login windows.
Make sure to use https if you decide to follow this scheme since http will transmit the username/password in cleartext.

CANNOT QUERY SAME DETAIL RECORD IN SECOND DATA PAGE

Hello,
We created a Master-->DetailOne-->DetailTwo Business Component Diagram. Added two Data Pages (UIX) to Struts Config diagram. First data page contains Master-->DetailOne (One-To-Many) view from Data Control Palette, and the second data page has DetailOne-->DetailTwo (One-To_Many).
Our intent is for user to pick a DetailOne record from first page and click a link button to load the second data page with same DetailOne record and any DetailTwo records available underneath. Tried adding a DataAction component to the diagram and dragged several Data Control Operations to it. However our second data page does not load the same DetailOne record as the first one. We also tried data linking first page to second. The second datapage does not display the record selected on first data page when clicking on the link button. Uploading screen shots to clarify issue. Please advise if you need

It's been 5-6 months since I've created a Master/Detail APEX application, but I don't remember having to create any special trigger or anything. I created a few maintenance appls over tables I created, and created an inquiry appl using Oracle vendor tables. All of them have worked nicely.
If the PK/FK's are set up correctly it just works. :-) Like magic. If I recall correctly, as you create the appl you define the the key fields to use. If the tables are defined correctly, and you 'tie' them together using the correct key fields in the application everything should work nicely.
