Im trying to load the data from ODS to InfoCube . But im getting the shortdump like below
Short dump in the Warehouse
Diagnosis
The data update was not completed. A short dump has probably been logged in BW providing information about the error.
System response
"Caller 70" is missing.
Further analysis:
Search in the BW short dump overview for the short dump belonging to the request. Pay attention to the correct time and date on the selection screen.
You get a short dump list using the Wizard or via the menu path "Environment -> Short dump -> In the Data Warehouse".
Error correction:
Follow the instructions in the short dump.
Shortdump details :-
An SQL error occured when accessing a table.
The database system detected a deadlock and avoided it by rolling back your transaction

check in the DB02...
if u find u can rectify by
deleting indexes or u can use in the Processing tab of the IP as
only PSA and then subsequently into data targets..

The activities in a typical Production Support would be as follows:

3. Modifying BW reports as per the need of the user.
4. Creating aggregates in Prod system
5. Regression testing when version/patch upgrade is done.
6. Creating adhoc hierarchies.

As the frequent failures and errors , there is no fixed reason for the load to be fail , if you want it for the interview perspective I would answer it in this way.
a) Loads can be failed due to the invalid characters
b) Can be because of the deadlock in the system
c) Can be because of previous load failure , if the load is dependant on other loads
d) Can be because of erroneous records
e) Can be because of RFC connections
These are some of the reasons for the load failures.
1. Why there is frequent load failures during extractions? and how to analyse them?
If these failures are related to Data, there might be data inconsistency in source system. Though we are handling properly in transfer rules. We can monitor these issues in T-code -> RSMO and PSA (failed records) and update.
If we are talking about whole extraction process, there might be issues of work process scheduling and IDoc transfer to target system from source system. These issues can be re-initiated by canceling that specific data load and ( usually by changing Request color from Yellow - > Red in RSMO). and restart the extraction.
What is the daily task we do in production support.How many times we will extract the data at what times.
It depends... Data load timings are in the range of 30 mins to 8 hrs. This time is depends in number of records and kind of transfer rules you have provided. If transfer rules have some kind of round about transfer rules and updates rules has calculations for customized key figures... long times are expected..
Usually You need to work on RSMO and see what records are failing.. and update from PSA.

Data Validation:
In BW any extraction we have to do Data Validation ..i.e.. data comparision between BW side and Source System side (Ex..R/3). Normally we do it in Unit Testing.

Shortdump occured due to function module called incorrectly

Hi experts!
Iam loading the deltas from 2lis_40_reval into 3 cubes.
In one cube the dataload is successful,but in other two cubes deltas are unsuccessful.B'coz a shortdump was occured due to function module was called incorrectly.

'the function module interface allows you to specify only fields of particular type under "E_week".the "result" specified here is a different type.
i observed the routines of all cubes.in one cube ,for zcalender year/week a routine week is assigned but there
"E_QTR = result".and zcalender/quater a routine is assined but there is"E_WEEK = result" .and also i checked the properties of zcalender year/week & zcalender/quater .
the lenth for both of these is different.
so,is b'coz of these data is not loading.if so can i change these routines in production.can u pls give the solution

Master Dataload is taking long time to complete

Hi
In last couple of weeks, we are experience the delay for master dataload job. These dataload should take 5-8 minute to complete but it is taking more then 5 hour to complete. here we are using process chain for master dataload.
Any idea? We don't understand where to start to check the root cause of this problem.

Some update of our master dataload. Still not resolved.
Seem to me, our problem is related to Hierarchy in BW server.It is taking long time to update the hierarchy in BW server. As i told you, problem occur only when loading master dataload. For transaction dataload, no IDOC get stuck in R/3 (NPR) server. There are enough resources in both R/3 and BW server for trfc.
There are total 9 hierarchy in the master dataload that is delaying in the process for update. If you have seen this type of problem for the following hierarchy, pls update me.

Summation button in ALV report is giving shortdump

Dear All,
I have developed a ALV report. The report is a simple ALV report (Using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY). When I am pressing the summation button at the top, it is giving a shortdump. The reason I have found out is the no. of columns are very large (45 to 50). Can anyone suggest how to handle this situation?

Hi atanu,
then you can use DO_SUM = 'X' (for the field which you want to sum option) in the fieldcat , this will try to sum while display it self.i mean in list display it will show the totals also.
then you need not to explicitly click on SUM button.

I met a critical problem when execute dataload in erpi using classic method.
there are data in E business suite, but I don't know why I can't pull data from EBS.
also I execute dataload using FDM method, the import step in FDM yields an error: "error creating database link".

The data load method for your target application should be set to "FDM" if you are going to be using FDM for your Data Load Rule imports. The Error in creating the DB link is due to the FDM Schema not being granted the DBLINK role in Oracle. In the FDM DBA Guide it explains that the FDM Schema must be granted the create DBLINK role when using the ERPi adapter.

Firefox crashes when I try to use DataLoad, and I was able to use this program a month ago.

In the recent past I have been able to use a program called DATALOAD (shareware) to load data into Firefox web forms (specifically web based sales tax returns).
However, now every time I try it now Firefox crashes, so I am forced to use IE (which I hate). The last time I used Dataload was in April 2011 (for my quarterly tax returns).
On of the latest updates to Firefox must have a conflict with this program.
Can you please research to see what changed in Firefox to make it crash when using Dataload? I do not want to use IE if I do not have to.

How do I use LSMW with a bespoke dataload program?

Hello data migration gurus, I need your help.
I need to migrate data from a legacy system into a suite of bespoke functionality we've written within SAP CRM. We are planning to write a program to perform the load. However we would like such a program to be reusable, so it makes sense to keep the data load separate from the data formatting, which may vary between customers.
The obvious answer is to use LSMW for the data formatting, calling our load program as the last step. However in LSMW you can only choose from a list of standard dataload programs. Does anyone know how to use LSMW with a bespoke program? It looks like transaction SXDA might be involved, but it isn't too clear. If anyone has done this kind of thing elsewhere, advice would be much appreciated!
Obviously as an alternative we could just write a separate program to format the data - it would just be a lot better if we could use LSMW.

Adding cost element to a particular hierarchy in RSH1 leads to shortdump.

I'm facing some issue in production for TCode-RSH1.
Adding cost element to a particular hierarchy in RSH1 leads to shortdump. (Assign_Type_Illegal_Cast). This problem is causing for some hierarchies only.
Steps followed by us for adding cost element:-
1) RSH1-select hierarchy name.
2) In change mode, select a paticular node, click on cost element.
3) Select any of the cost element & click the green button (tick)
When we are following the above steps, it is leading to short dump and giving the following error message:-
Assign_Type_Illegal_Cast.
This issue is causing for some hierarchies & not for all.

That particular hierarchy is not having multiple nodes. Only one node named Rate & efficiency. and the user needs to add cost element to that node. Now how come your ans match here in this case.
Now is that you are telling that one cost element which is selected is there for that node in some other hierarchy?But it is a different hierarchy , so if it is then it would be a problem?
Or else I have one more doubt....
Is that the user might be having some authorization problem for that particular hierarchy or the info object or cube where the hierarchy is? Because he is saying that he is having this problem for some few only not all hierarchies. So its understandable that RSH1 authorization to edit and create he has.

Shortdump in monitor after upgrade to BI 7.0

Hi guru's,
We just went through the technical upgrade to BI 7.0 . However we are still using RSA1OLD at the moment.
We are having an issue with the monitor. While checking failed loads, whenever we go from the details tab to the header tab, we get a shortdump.
In ST22 it tells me to look for notes with the following key words :
"MESSAGE_TYPE_X" " "
"SAPLRSSM_LOAD" or "LRSSM_LOADU14"
"RSSM_RSLDTDONE_READ"
But I wasn't able to find any related note.
Did anybody else encountered the same issue before ?

Hello SB,
Did you check the available OLAP cache? By default it is set to 4.0 MB, which is not sufficient. You can change that. Also, check the persistence method for the same.
May I reqeust you to kindly share the documentation you have for this upgrade?
We are planning the upgrade from 3.5 to 7.0 few weeks.

Problem with DataLoader and Oracle 8.1.6

I am currently running WebLogic Commerce Server under the following
configuration.
1. Solaris 8
2. WebLogic Server 5.1
3. WebLogic Commerce Server 2.0.1
4. Oracle 8.1.6
5. JDK 1.2.2
I have followed the instructions completely as it relates to running
with Oracle. Everything works fine up to the point in which I run the
DataLoader.sh script.
The DataLoader.sh script almost completes. However, after some time is
spend loading items, I see the following WebLogic dumb, and the
DataLoader.sh scripts quits.
Some other points. I am using the Oracle thin driver (Classes111.zip).
The size and date of the classes111.zip are as follows.
Date: 12/14/1999
Size: 1.4Meg
Any ideas as to what the problem is.

Javier, these are database parameters picked p from the init.ora of that database. To check the values of these parameters, logon to the database via SVRMGRL as the DBA and then execute the command :
SVRMGR>SHOW PARAM
This lists all the database paramaters. Also check if the Oracle MTS Service is actually running.

Shortdump while calling UNIX command

Hi all,
I have a problem while trying to remove a file in UNIX platform in ABAP program.
It is working fine in the development and quality server, but not in production server.
Based on the debug result, the shortdump was thrown while executing "CALL 'SYSTEM' ID 'COMMAND' FIELD lv_command".

You don't have authorisation in PRD to remove files. If it is really required for you.
Take SU53 screen shot immediately once you get short dump and follow up with Basis Folks for required authorisation.

Runtime Error DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_RSQL on dataload to PSA

Hi,
Apologies for the long problem statement.
We need to extract data from a non- SAP SQL system to our SAP Netweaver 7.01 (EhP1 SP5) BI system. We have established a UD Connection and connected to tables in the SQL system.
After a few dataloads and data validity, some fields were changed in the source tables in the SQL system.
Now, when we try to extract data into our PSA by triggering InfoPackage, it gives a Runtime Error with following messages:
*Runtime Errors DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_RSQL*
*Exception CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB*
*Error in module RSQL of the database interface.*
*An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.*
*The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB', was not caugh*
*in*
*procedure "INSERT_ODS" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.*
*Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the*
*exception would occur, the current program is terminated.*
*The reason for the exception is:*
*In a SELECT access, the read file could not be placed in the target*
*field provided.*
*Either the conversion is not supported for the type of the target field,*
*the target field is too small to include the value, or the data does not*
*have the format required for the target field.*
We tried creating another datasource on the same table and we could extract data successfully. There a quite a few more DS that have the same issue. Is there another way to resolve this issue while retaining current DS.
Also, for another table which has more number of rec (arnd 20K), the extraction keeps running even after creating new datasource.
Please help.

I guess it may be useful. When datasource structrue changes , there will inconsistency in database and will not allow us to delete or do data load.
This has resolved my problem.
PSA Not Deleting, error : DDL time(___1):.....0 milliseconds

Shortdump while cancelling downpayment billing "FAZ"

Can anyone advise what's the root cause of the shortdump when cancelling a downpayment request in VF11?
The error message is :
"The OPEN_DI of BTE 00001170 could not determine any function modules"

DataTable in a grid make flicker in the first dataload

Hi experts,
I have a form with a Grid, in this grid i have a datatable (with query).
I open my form in create mode, if i click to the next button i have the following problem :
                                   - when i open the form for the first time, data are loaded 1 time,
                                   - when i open the form the second time, data are loaded 2 times
                                   - when i open the form the third time, data are loaded 3 times.....
After this first load, if i use next/previous, or change folder i have no problem, data are reloaded just 1 time..
Have you any solution to my problem ?
