Date in report title

I can put the run date/time in the title of a crystal report in Business Objects.  I need to put the data date in the title.  Is there a SQL statement for this, or some other way?

Ahhh, but you can!  At least when run through InfoView.  Indicate that you want to specify the file name, and there's a "placemarker" %SI_STARTTIME% that will substitute the date and time of the run in the file name.  (It does both date and time, and as far as I'm aware, you can't specify just date, or the format of the output.)

  • Printing System Date on Report Title

How can I print the system date on the title of report generated by SQL*Plus?
I remember it is possible to include SQL.PNO in the statement TTITLE to print the page number. Is there any variable like SQL.PNO which represent system date?
Previously I've include SYSDATE to the SELECT statement of the report. It is the column named TODAY, with option NOPRINT and NEW_VALUE TT_TODAY, where TT_TODAY is include in TTITLE statement. The problem is: if the SELECT statement returns nothing, TT_TODAY will be blank/Null.
How can I work around with this problem?

    Dear all,
My colleague told me the way to print System Date on title of SQL*Plus report as followed:
COLUMN today NEW_VALUE tt_today NOPRINT FORMAT A1 TRUNC
    TTITLE CENTER tt_today RIGHT SQL.PNO
    SET FEEDBACK OFF
    SET TERMOUT OFF
    SELECT SYSDATE AS today FROM DUAL;
    SPOOL RPTFILE
    SELECT ....... << to generate report output >> .......
    SPOOL OFF
    SET TERMOUT ON
    SET FEEDBACK ON
It works! The output file contains System Date on each page title.
I don't understand why Oracle didn't implement variable similar to SQL.PNO to represent the System Date. If Oracle is able to create SQL.PNO which can increment on each page break, why not the System Date which remains the same on each page?

  • Duplicate report title for every date where records are found in date range

    Hi,
I have a developed a report that lists multiple entries by date range with a page break separating each date. What I would like to include now is a report title which only appears once for each date, and separated by page break.
    Example:
    (Business Unit)
    (Address)
    (Report Title)
    (Date)
    Entry 1
    Entry 2
    Entry 3
    Entry 4
    Entry 5
    Entry 6
    Entry 7
    (Business Unit)
    (Address)
    (Report Title)
    (Date)Entry 1

    Hi Camelbak2113,
According to your description, it seems that you want to eliminate the duplicate report title for every date. If in this scenario, I suggest that we can try to add a group grouped on date range, and then add a child group grouped on report title. Then add
page breaks between each instance of date range group.
If I have something misunderstood, please provide us more information about the report. Such as provide us some screenshots about the report with sample data. So that we can make further analysis and help you out.
    Thanks,

  • Formatting date of Presentation Variable in Report title

    Hi
I have the following presentation variable, @{PR_WE_DATE}{Week End Date}, in a report title. However the date format shown in the title is different from the format in the prompt.
In the report title the date format is YYYY-MM-DD however I want to display it as DD_MM_YYYY
Can anyone let me know if it possible to format the date format for a presentation variable?
    Regards
    A

I've tried this and all this output to the title is 2009-12-03[DD_MM_YYYY]
Any other suggestions? Maybe I can change it when I set the variable in the prompt, did try {variable}[DD_MM_YYYY], in the prompt but it didn't work

    Hello Expert,
I have a requirment to show the ETL run date in the title of the report.
Eg: " Sales Vs target Report : Data loaded as on date: <ETL run date>.
The ETL run date is coming in the fact table.
I am working on the OBIEE 11.1.1.5. So pla help if it is possibe.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Niraj

    Thanks for response.
I tried to do the same. but unable to achieve. I did the following,
    1. Created a init block with SQL which extract the value of ETL rundate ans associate with a repository variable (ETL_RUN_DATE). This init block was retriving the data.
I put the folowing in the Title as well as sub title view:
Data loaded as on date: (@{biServer.variables[ETL_RUN_DATE]})
I also tried to put Data loaded as on date: @{repository.ETL_RUN_DATE} this also didnot worked.
So could you please provide me the steps with actual syntax, then it willbe very much helpful for me.
    Thanks

  • Displaying Answers Date Prompts in Title of Report

I come from a BO background and we are now implementing OBIEE into our environment. My question revolves around the display of dashboard prompt values in the Answers report title.
I have a Dashboard Prompt built that uses the expression 'DateColumn' between - user inputs their two values using the Calendar control.
Is there anyway with this scenario to display what the user chooses in the Answers report title? In the Answers criteria I have set the criteria for the 'DateColumn' to be prompted.
I see you can assign some of the Dashboard prompts to variables, however, you can't do it when you using the Between logic or the Greater than logic.
I look forward to any input and thank you so much in advance!

I presume you are aware of the filters view that shows you all the filters applied to the report, but you want the parameters in the title and no where else.
The other option is not simple. You could make your Dashboard prompts as equalities, and then you could save the parameters to Presentation Variables and pass the parameters to a nested report inside a narrative iframe where you construct the real query. An excellent example of this is Venkatakrishnan's blog in the URL below:
    http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2008/02/19/oracle-bi-ee-101332-passing-operators-in-dashboard-prompts-go-url-and-presentation-variables/
You may check out the section "Oracle BI Presentation Services Go URL to Issue SQL and Pass Filters" in the Presentation Services Administration Guide for more information.

  • How to display the sort value in the selection screen in the report title

    Dear All,
How to display the sort value in the selection screen in the report title? I have selected a value in the selection screen for sorting , but i need that values by which i have sorted with in the report title. Can you please throw some light on this!!
    Good day,
    Thanks and regards
    Arun S

    Hi Arun,
    Try this.
    1, Set one dynamic parameter,
2, Drag and drop that parameter into  your report title.
3, Pass the value(sort value) dynamically from your application,
    4, Cheers..
Other wise Try with Dataset, create a dataset and fill thev alue into that.. Then  set the data source from CR designer. and darg and drop that data column into the report.
    Hope this will work,
    Regards,

  • Report Title and Text Area issue when exported to pdf using Viewer

    Hi there,
We are using OracleBI Discoverer Version 10.1.2.55.26
We have reports that displays Report title containing the following
    - Report Title
    - Runt Date and Time
    - Page No
And text area which displays 'Last Page'
Following properties are set at the worksheet level using page setup
Report Title --> 'Print on every Page'
Text Area --> 'Print on last page'
The report when exported to PDF using Discoverer plus works fine and displays report title and text area as defeined.
But when we try to export the same report to pdf from Discoverer viewer, it displays
    - Report title on first page only.
    - text area on all pages
All our users accesses report using discoverer viewer so we cannot open discoverer plus to them.
Is there a solution which will enable us to export the report in pdf using discoverer viewer and displays the same output as discoverer plus.
Please let me know... If you have any questions then please feel free to ask.
Thanks in advance for your help...
    Manish

but when opened on other os x machines some text is colored differently than it should be
Well, if typographic objects are colour managed, the colour appearance is dependent on the source ICC profile that describes the colourants in the typographic objects and the destination ICC profile that describes the colours the display is able to form and the RBC colourant combinations that will form those colours.
In general, typographic objects should have special treatment, since the expectation is not that typographic objects should be colour managed, but that typographic objects should simple be set to the maximum density of dark. On a display, that is R=0 G=0 B=0 and on a seperations device (a lithographic press) that is C=0 M=0 Y=0 K=100.
If for some reason typographic objects are colour managed, and if the ICC profiles for the displays are off by half a mile or more in relation to the actual state of the display system, then the colours will not be the same. On the other hand, if those displays are calibrated and characterized, then the colourants will be converted to form the same colours on the displays.

  • Local timestamp in report title

    Hi
When i print a discoverer report, the timestamp on the report title(&Datee &Time) is the server time.
My client is 6 hours seperated from the server.
Is it possible to change the timestamp based on the user locale?
I have an Apps mode EUL with Disco 10.1.2.2
    Thanks
    Ariv

    Hi Ariv,
Its a good question which i have never done, but will give a try it.
Is it possible to change the timestamp based on the user locale? There is a function in the PL/SQL and Discoverer date function named new_time and the syntax is as follows
    new_time( date, zone1, zone2 )
Here zone1 and zone2 would be like GMT(greenwich mean time),EST(eastern standard time) and so on.I can give an example on how to go about it.Firstly do a calculation by taking this function it would be something like this
    new_time (to_date ('2003/11/01 01:45', 'yyyy/mm/dd HH24:MI'), 'GMT', 'EST')
and disable this calculation by unckecking it.In Title section just call it as Timestamp:&calculation1 ,here calculation1 refers to the calculation i asked you to do above.
    Hope this helps you.
    Best Wishes,
    Kranthi.

  • Variable in Report Title?

Hi I'm fairly new to ORACLE BI and want to output the Date in the Filename of the reports when the users run them. So when they download the report as XLS PDF etc is shows "filename DD-MM-YY".
    Is this possible?
    Many Thanks
    Ed

ahh, now I see what you're talking. Here's the issue you're running into. The download report doesn't use the title as the download file name. Instead, it uses the physical name of the report in OBIEE. So even if you add the system date to the title of the report, it won't affect the download name. It just happens that both the download name and the title default to the name of the Answer Request.
So if you really wanted someone to download it with a date already in the file name, you have two options:
    1) Physically rename the Answer Request periodically to indicate the last time it was refreshed. The issue here is that links to this Request will get outdated fast. And it's not the prettiest solution
    2) You'd have to go into the Javascript behind OBIEE and edit how it generates the download file. I checked out the web page source code for the download link and here's where you'd want to start digging: onclick="return NQWPopupMenu(event,'idDownloadLinksMenud:dashboard~p:ngm14ept52q4tcnt~r:dr2ss84kj32lkjoi')"
That NQWPopupMenu function is what generates the pop up window with the different file outputs. Once you dig through there, it will eventually lead you through the script that does the excel outputting. Once you find the piece of code that creates the output file, it should be as simple as appending a sysdate to the file name.
    Good luck!

  • Help With Date driven report

I am trying to generate a list of the programs on all channels for a specific day showing the channel number, supplier, package, program name, rating code, and show time. This will be similar to a program guide, only not package specific. This is a date-driven report, therefore it should only display programs for a single date specified.
    [code/]SELECT DISTINCT
    S.PROGTIME AS "SHOWTIME",
    S.PROGNAME AS "PROGRAM TITLE",
    C.CHNUM AS "CHANNEL #",
    SU.SUPNAME AS "SUPPLIER",
    R.RATINGDESCRIPT AS "RATING"
    FROM SCHEDULE S
    CROSS JOIN CHANNELS C
    CROSS JOIN SUPPLIERS SU
    INNER JOIN PROGRAM P ON P.PROGNAME = S.PROGNAME
    INNER JOIN CHANNEL_PACKAGE CP ON CP.CHID = S.CHID
    INNER JOIN RATING R ON R.RATINGID = P.RATINGID
    WHERE S.PROGTIME='18-DEC-10'
    ORDER BY C.CHNUM
Which gives me an undesired resulT containg rows that put names of all channels with each channel number and ends up outputting 3016 rows which there should be only 29.
I don't know how to add my script file here since there is no option for an attachment.

  • Want report title on the same page above the column names

    Hi,
I have given report title in the report header but for some reason it displays title on first page and data from next page on wards. I have also given a page break for the groups, is this the reason for getting  title on one page and dtata from next page?
Pls suggest me something so that i can have report title on the top and then data stating frrom the same page.
    Thanks

Expand the page header, move your column headings down, and put the report title at the top of the page header.
The title has to be in the PAGE header in order for it to print on all pages.

    Carl

  • Insert dynamic variable in report title?

    Hi
I am new to Discoverer. I have created a report that displayed a set of data based on the value of last month. So I have created a calculation that gets the value of last month:
    LAST_MONTH = TO_CHAR(ADD_MONTHS(TRUNC(SYSDATE,'MM'),-1),'MON/YYYY')
I then use the value of LAST_MONTH to select dates from my data where DATE LIKE LAST_MONTH.
But I want the report title to actually have the value of LAST_MONTH in it, so it actually says something like
    Report for NOV/2009
    dynamically etc.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks
    Lee

    Hi Lee
To add to what Rod has said, which is 100% correct, let me explain why.
In order to get something into the title of any report or document, whether this be Word, Excel, SQL or even Discoverer, that something must be applicable to all of the values currently displayed on the page of the report. Whereas Word or Excel will allow you to manually place something into the title, Discoverer does not. In order for Discoverer to allow you to place something into the title it must either be a Page Item or a Parameter. This is because Page Items and Parameters are guaranteed to be unique to the page of the report being displayed. Thus, if you had more than one Page Item, as you move from one to the next the title would dynamically change. When you have a fixed value or calculation, such as your LAST_MONTH, you still need to display it in the Page Items in order to place it on your title.
To make a Page Item or Parameter display in the title you simply type the & character followed by the name of the item as it appears in the Page Items or by the name you gave the Parameter. Case is import too so last_month is not the same as LAST_MONTH.
Whenever Discoverer encounters the character & in the title it starts looking for a Parameter or Page Item named by whatever is following the &. If it finds a match it displays the value. It no match is found then it literally displays whatever you typed. Any additional characters that you type after a successful match are also display literally.
For example: suppose you Page Item is called LAST_MONTH and the value was NOV-09 but in the title you typed &LAST_MONTHS then what will display would be NOV-09S. However, if you typed $last_months then you will literally see &last_month in the title.
    I hope this helps.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • Report Title in Header Bar

    Hello All,
We are creating new Web Templates in 7x version and want to know if the Report Title in Header bar can be customized by removing the "<SAP Logo> BEx Web- " instead only allow report title
    As Is
    "<SAP Logo> BEx Web - <Report Title> "
To Be should be only Report Title
    "<Report Title>"
    Thanks

Are you not using "Info Field-->Data Binding-->General Text Elem-->Query Description" web item to show Title ?

  • Using Select Expert Criteria in a Report Title

    Post Author: kevinday17
    CA Forum: Formula
    Hello,
I can't quite figure out how to get a select expert criteria in my report title.
My title is "Sales by Customer from Jan 1, 2007 to Aug 31, 2007"  but I want to be able to have the dates in that title reflect what the user has given as parameters.
So if the user selects July 31, 2007 as the end date, I would like the title to reflect that.  I'm less concerned about the format of the date that how to bring it into that text area.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    CA Forum: Formula
oh you are not using parameters to do the date selection (i'm guessing you have a reason for this)simplest way for you to achieve what you want would be to create a couple of formula within your report and use those instead of your hard coded dates@begin_dateDATETIME(2007, 08, 01, 00, 00, 00)@end_dateDATETIME(2007, 08, 31, 00, 00, 00)@report_title"Sales by Customer from "& @begin_date &" to "&@end_datein the selection expert put in{SOP30200.DOCDATE} in @begin_date to @end_dateso if you wanted to modify the start and end range change the values inside the 2 formulas, your report title will reflect the changes but this really should be done with parameters to allow more flexibility (but i leave that up to you to decide)
