Date picker limited to date range

Hi,
wondered if there was anyway to limit the calendat to a range of dates so that the calendar only showed that range of dates. Just allows more daat-entry control. I know it can be done in JS as well as using the validation objects (requiring a submit) but wondered if there were any other ideas out there.
TIA for yor reply.
Ken.

Embedding some 3rd party javascript component might do. I mean something like dojotoolkit.org date picker

  • Cascading Pick List with date range as first,  second pick list is dynamic

    Specifically, how is this accomplished?
It does not seem possible to make first pick list static. If allowed this would be perfect.
The system seems to only allow the first parameter to be dynamic if the second parameter is dynamic. No range seems to be available for date when second parameter is  dynamic.

Consider a 3rd-party tool as a solution (for a list of such tools, see http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html).
There is at least one Crystal report viewer with its own special implementation of dynamic & cascading parameters.  It would allow you to use any type of parameter within the cascade.  However, you will need to create a separate rpt to implement each dynamic parameter.  So in your case, you will have one main report, using a dynamic parameter that's implemented as a separate rpt, which has a date range parameter.

  • Java.util.Date  - date range limitations ?

    Hi all,
    I have a problem when retrieving a Date from a database (java.sql.Date date = resultset.getDate(columnumber)).
When the database field contains a date until 2039-12-31 everything works fine, but when the date is after 2040-01-01, the resultset returns NULL.
Even when I fetch the field as a String (resultset.getString()) or as an Object (resultset.getObject()) the problem remains.
I thought it could have something to do with the fact that a Date object internally holds its state as the number of msec since 1970 - a long - and large dates cannot be kept in this format.
However, in the javadocs, I didn't find any explanation or limitation on the ranges for a date.
What should I do to solve or bypass this problem ?
    Thanks !!
    Sophie

...msec since 1970 - a long - and large dates cannot be kept in this format. That doesn't have anything to do with it. It stores the time as a long which is 64 bits. So (if my calculations are correct) it should allow for a span of more than 500 million years. That would 250 million years after 1970.
The following gives a year of 33658.
    System.out.println("" + new Date(1000000000000000L));
The specified date of "2039-12-31" is highly unusual. One could presume that a boundary condition is causing the problem. Normally dates are calculated from 1/1/1970 00:00:00 (sometimes 1980.) But using a 32 bit integer with seconds as the unit for that gives an expiration in 2038 and it does not fall at the end of the year. Could there be a trigger that is limiting the date field?
It is possible that the cause of your problem is the database or driver (which might consist solely of a jdbc driver or might consist of other parts.) But given the unusual value that you are seeing I wouldn't be surprised if something else is causing it.

  • Possible to do limited date range changes in Calendar?

If I set up a filter, say, for days since my last sync AND I'm doing a two-way sync, will only those changes sincy my last sync be synced or will I lose everything not in that date range? Since I make changes to the calendar in Outlook and on the device this is especially important to me. This could save me a lot of time, but I don't want to lose any other calendar data
Also, I assume that I set the filter to use 'start date' and uncheck the box that says ' Delete from device any data that does not match the filter'. I am using DM 4.6 and OS 4.3

    Hi Mark,
Yes, you can pass a date range value to the SUbreport!
    Here's how its done:
    1) Create a formula in the Main report; call it Start_date:
    Minimum({?Date_parameter})
    2) Create a second formula in the Main report and call it End_date:
    Maximum({?Date_parameter})
    3) Insert the sub-report and then Right-click the sub-report > Select Change Subreport links > Move the Start_date and End_date formulas to 'Fields to Link to' area and make sure you uncheck the 'Select data in subreport based on field' option.
    4) Edit the sub-report (Right-click > Edit) and insert a Record Selection formula to include the parameters from the Main Report.
Go to Report > Selection Formulas > Record:
    {date_field} >= {?Pm-@Start_date} and {date_field} <= {?Pm-@End_date}
    Hope this helps!

  • Multi Mailbox Search Date Range Results Inaccurate

    Hi All,
I have an Exchange 2010 server with SP3 /RU3 installed. When I do a multi mailbox search using OWA /ECP and put in a start and end date from the Date Range dropdown box, my search results shows me more than just the intended date range of emails. For
example; if I request just a particular month and year, my results will show a couple of years worth of emails not just the one month that I requested.
If I do the same exact search using PowerShell command the results are accurate, they will show only the one month. We could use PowerShell commands but we'd would rather use the OWA /ECP console instead. To me it seems like a bug in the code. Has anyone
else experience this issue or have a resolution?
    Thanks in advance.

  • VL10h - 1 month default delivery date range

    Dear Sirs,
I am using VL10h to create deliveries from Sales Order. But, The default date range it takes is only 1 month. Would you please suggest me to increase the date range?
The message I am getting is-
Latest deliv. creation date (04.12.2009) further in future than allowed (30 days)
    Message no. V50R014
    Diagnosis
Maximum future delivery time frame was exceeded.
    System Response
In your system, the maximum delivery creation time frame is limited to 30 days in the future. However, you want to deliver until 04.12.2009, which the system does not allow.
    Procedure
Choose a smaller interval for delivery.
    Procedure for System Administration
You can set the number of days in the future the delivery is limited to in Customizing in Create deliveries profiles 0101, which is assigned to the current list profile "Sales Order and Purchase Order Items".
    regards,
    rahul

    Dear Rahul
To avoid the error message V50R014 you have to change the value of the
field "Maximum delivery period in the future"  (transaction VL10CUC).  Alternatively, maintain the delivery creation profile in transaction VL10H for the field "Maximum delivery period in the future".
    Hope this helps.

  • Neen help with date range searches for Table Sources

    Hi all,
I need help, please. I am trying to satisfy a Level 1 client requirement for the ability to search for records in crawled table sources by a date and/or date range. I have performed the following steps, and did not get accurate results from Advanced searching for date. Please help me understand what I am doing wrong, and/or if there is a way to define a date search attribute without creating a LOV for a date column. (My tables have 500,00 rows.)
I am using SES 10.1.8.3 on Windows 32.
My Oracle 10g Spatial Table is called REPORTS and this table has the following columns:
    TRACKNUM Varchar2
    TITLE Varchar2
    SUMMARY CLOB
    SYMBOLCODE Varchar2
    Timestamp Date
    OBSDATE Date
    GEOM SDO_GEOMETRY
I set up the REPORTS table source in SES, using TRACKNUM as the Primary Key (unique and not null), and SUMMARY as the CONTENT Column. In the Table Column Mappings I defined TITLE as String and TITLE.
Under Global Settings > Search Attributes I defined a new Search Attribute (type Date) called DATE OCCURRED (DD-MON-YY).
Went back to REPORTS source previously defined and added a new Table Column Mapping - mapping OBSDATE to the newly defined DATE OCCURRED (DD-MON-YY) search attribute.
I then modified the Schedule for the REPORTS source Crawler Policy to “Process All Documents”.
Schedule crawls and indexes entire REPORTS table.
In SES Advanced Search page, I enter my search keyword, select Specific Source Group as REPORTS, select All Match, and used the pick list to select the DATE OCCURRED (DD-MON-YY) Attribute Name, operator of Greater than equal, and entered the Value 01-JAN-07. Then the second attribute name of DATE_OCCURRED (DD-MON-YY), less than equals, 10-JAN-07.
Search results gave me 38,000 documents, and the first 25 I looked at had dates NOT within the 01-JAN-07 / 10-JAN-07 range. (e.g. OBSDATE= 24-MAR-07, 22-SEP-), 02-FEB-08, etc.)
And, none of the results I opened had ANY dates within the SUMMARY CLOB…in case that’s what was being found in the search.
Can someone help me figure out how to allow my client to search for specific dated records in a db table using a single column for the date? This is a major requirement and they are anxiously awaiting my solution.
    Thanks, in advance….

    raford,
Thanks very much for your reply. However, from what I've read in the SES Admin Document is that (I think) the date format DD/MM/YYYY pertains only to searches on "file system" sources (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF, etc.). We have 3 file system sources among our 25 total sources. The remaining 22 sources are all TABLE or DATABASE sources. The DBA here has done a great job getting the data standardized using the typical/default Oracle DATE type format in our TABLE sources (DD-MON-YY). Our tables have anywhere from 1500 rows to 2 million rows.
I tested your theory that the dates we are entering are being changed to Strings behind the scenes and on the Advanced Page, searched for results using OBSDATE equals 01/02/2007 in an attempt to find data that I know for certain to be in the mapped OBSDATE table column as 01-FEB-07. My result set contained data that had an OBSDATE of 03-MAR-07 and none containing 01-FEB-07.
Here is the big issue...in order for my client to fulfill his primary mission, one of the top 5 requirements is that he/she be able to find specific table rows that are contain a specific date or range of dates.
    thanks very much!

  • Creating report based on user selected Date Range

    Hello.
I am trying to display an Apex report that selects data for the report based on a user entered date range.
It's a simple page with two date picker fields (p18_start and p18_end).
The report region SQL looks like this:
    SELECT *
    FROM prj_items
    WHERE LM_DT BETWEEN :p18_start AND :P18_end
One table, one field on the table to search and two Apex variables.
I thought this would be fairly simple, but I am obviously missing something.
I not even sure what other information is needed to help me figure this out.
    -Jody

    Hi,
You can set defaults for the datepickers if you need to - this could be done in a computation on the page for each item and conditional on the item being null.
When I've done something similar to this, I've created two hidden page items - eg, :P19_FIRST_DATE and :P19_LAST_DATE and populated these with the earliest/latest date that the user could reasonably select (perhaps, in your case, the MIN(LM_DT) and MAX(LM_DT) values).
    Then your SQL would be:
    select * from PRJ_ITEMS
    where LM_DT BETWEEN TO_DATE(NVL(:P19_START,:P19_FIRST_DATE), 'DD-MON-YY')
AND TO_DATE(NVL(:P19_END,:P19_LAST_DATE), 'DD-MON-YY')If you don't want to set default dates, you could do something like:
    SELECT * FROM PRJ_ITEMS
WHERE (:P19_START IS NULL AND :P19_END IS NULL)
OR (:P19_START IS NOT NULL AND :P19_END IS NULL AND LM_DT >= TO_DATE(:P19_START,'DD-MON-YY'))
OR (:P19_START IS NULL AND :P19_END IS NOT NULL AND LM_DT <= TO_DATE(:P19_END,'DD-MON-YY'))
OR (LM_DT BETWEEN TO_DATE(:P19_START,'DD-MON-YY') AND TO_DATE(:P19_END,'DD-MON-YY'))There are various reasons why your two dates are being cleared when the page is reloaded. Firstly, you should check the branch that returns to the same page - make sure you are not clearing the cache for the page. Then, have a look to see if there is a "reset page" process (usually created for you when you create a form page). Then, check the Source settings for the items. Typically, these would be "Only when current value in session state is null" and a Source Type of "Static Assignment" with the "Source Value or Expression" left empty.

  • Date range validity evaluation in BRM table

    Lectori salutem, Gurus salutem,
I'm using 7.3 sp03. I would like to achieve the following with BRM (bit simplified):
a parameter, ABC, is passed to a ruleSetService, and needs to be evaluated.
    The table is as follows:
    ABC startDate endDate Value
    1 01-01-2011 31-12-2011 A
    1 01-01-2012 31-12-2012 B
    2 01-01-2011 31-12-2011 X
    4 01-01-2012 31-12-2012 Y
When ABC-value '1' is passed to the ruleSetService in the table the first row needs to be selected. CurrentDate (24-11-2011) is in between 01-01-2011 and 31-12-2011, making this the valid row. The value that should be returned is A.
Beginning of next year it should change to B.
How should I set this up in BRM?
    Thanks in advance!
    Martijn.

    Hi Martijn,
Appreciate that you've simplifiied the scenario... but do you have any idea how many of these entries you are likely to have in total as that may change the answer.
You have a couple of choices that might work here...
    1. You could a decision table... to hold your values (i.e. ABC and date range as conditions, value as action) and use the rule that evaluates the decision table to pick up the current date for the comparison. e.g.  date conditions would be "greater than than 01-01-2011", "less than 31-12-2011", etc.
    2. Alternatively, if the plan is to have a simple end of year change over,  you could use Effectivities (in the Project Resources of the rules project) to determine which values  are selected and use a decision table or even just a rule script to determine the value.
But the thing is... HOW you organise your rule is going to depend a lot on:
    a) How many entries in total do you expect
    b) Is there a nice neat cutover of all ABC values at the same time or do effective date ranges vary a lot between different ABC values
    c) Who's responsible for maintaining these and if multiiple people are responsible do you need to organise your rule to cater for that? E.g. Are different people responsible for different ABC entries
    Does that help at all?
    Regards,
    Jocelyn

  • Pass a date Range from VB to a parameter

    Hello,
I'm thinking this is an easy question, but ...
In a Visual Studio 2008 VB program, I'm allowing the user to pick a starting and ending date from DateTimePickers. (works fiine).
In a CR 2008 report, I have a paramter defined as "pDateRange",  Type = date, Allow Range Values = Yes.
In the Record Selection, I use a formula of {tblData.INSTALLDT} in {?Date_Range}.
When I run the report, I can enter the date ranges in via the Enter Values prompt screen, and it works file,
All I need to know is - how do I pass the dates the user selected in the VB program to the pDateRange parameter?
    Thanks very much,

  • Date Range in Query

    Hi All,
We have created a query report which we have created as a stored procedure and we are executing the sp in SBO to get the result. However, there is one issue, we have passed the variables in the sp as well as the fms to get the date range, but if we input the date manually, the result shown is incorrect!!
It works fine when we tab on the from date, scroll down and select the date from the cfl!! This is not acceptable to the client. They want to enter the dates manually and not select from the cfl.
Please advise what is wrong here and how to correct this issue?? Is there any limitation of this sort..
    Thanks,
    Joseph

    Hi Joseph,
Instead of getting the date as string, try by changing the below declaration part
    Declare @datefrom VARCHAR(20)
    DECLARE @dateto VARCHAR(20)
    by this
    Declare @datefrom datetime
    DECLARE @dateto datetime
I think, then you need to chenge the same in the SP too
