DBA role cannot update a table

Question

SQL> select * from v$version;

SQL> show user

SQL> select granted_role from dba_role_privs where grantee ='JIMMYB';

DBA
SQL> select user_seq, person_id from cmis.users
  2  where last_name = 'ZIGGY';
  USER_SEQ  PERSON_ID

SQL> update cmis.users
  2  set
  3     person_id = 10991
  4  where user_seq = 12788;

ORA-00942: table or view does not existHow can the DBA role not be allowed to update this table?

I'm not sure what I am missing here. I've never encountered this before.
