DCErrorHandlerImpl is failing to handle POJO DataControl method exceptions

Hi All,
I need a help to understand Adf DCErrorHandlerImpl  and to resolve a particular issue in using it.
All what I am doing is, extending DCErrorHandlerImpl  class to handle the exceptions in data control and showing a message on the page.
1) Extended DCErrorHandlerImpl   & overridden reportException method
2) Extended FacesPageLifecycle to set errorhandler
3) Created a SitePortalADFPhaseListener class to create page life cycle & configured the life cycle in faces-config.xml
This works fine in the cases where DataContol methods used as Operation Binding & called from backing bean.
But when the a method is directly bound to the grid in the UI, reportException() does not handle the error.
Any idea why handler isn't called in this case?
Thanks & Regards
KP

I followed the steps given in oracle documentation. In the given Sample project, error handler is implemented for AppModule exceptions.
But what I have is custom Data Control created out of Java class. And it has a method which returns a list.
public class MyDataControl {
     public MyDataControl() {
           super();
    public List<MyPojo> getData(){
           try{
                  List<MyPojo> list = new ArrayList<MyPojo>();
                  list.add(new MyPojo("Name1","25"));
                  list.add(new MyPojo("Name2","30"));
                  return list;
           } catch (Exception e){
                  e.printStackTrace();
                 throw new JboException(e);
Once I created a DataControl for MyDataControl class, created table by dragging and dropping Data(accessor for getData) from DataControl.
Now if any exception in getData method, I am throwing a JboException instance.
According to documentation this exception need to intercepted by reportException() of DCErrorHandlerImpl. But reportException is not called in this case.

  • Save point with POJO DataControl not saving model state

    Hi Guys,
    JDEV 11.1.1.6 64bit
    I was able to get save points working with ADF BC (AppMod, View & Entity objects)
    but when I tried to do the exact same with Pojo DataControls, I won't save
    the current state of the model - meaning things are not "selected" to the
    proper record when the SP is restored. I don't get any errors, it just
    shows the wrong data.
    Example:
    The BTF is marked as must have transaction(tried either way), but this is Pojo, and doesn't support Trx.
    edit-emp-dept.jspx (with BTF Region)
    BTF START
        STEP 1: RichTable with bindings to Pojo DataControl (value="#{bindings.allDepts.collectionModel}")
                     (user selects the 3 record => sales department)
        STEP 2: Edit Sales Dept & on click to next step create SP
        STEP 3: View Emps (Rich Table of ALL emps in that DEPT)
        STEP 4: Edit Emp
        FINAL: COMMIT (save to pojo list) or CANCEL (don't save to pojo list)
    /BTF END
    At STEP 1 -> STEP 2, the SP is created, and when I close the browser at STEP2, 3  or 4, and
    restart, and choose SP to restore, it takes me to proper page (STEP 2)  but the wrong Department is
    selected to edit (it shows "Finance" instead of "Sales") & if I hit my ADF back button, it shows
    the table with "finance" selected.  In the ADF BC world it works perfectly.
    I know the docs say: the ADF Model is saved, so the question is why bindings.allDepts.collectionModel
    not "saved" here for Pojo DC and the ADF BC af:table value="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1.collectionModel}"
    it is "saved".
    Thanks for any insight or work-around.
    Sincerely,
    Joel

    Hi,
    the problem with POJO DC and other non-ADF BC models is that they don't passivate their state. In JDeveloper 12c we allow developers to extend their POJO classes with ADF lifecycle methods that allows them to save the model state themselves. Its a known issue that the transaction state cannot be saved for non-ADF BC models. I checked the bug database for bugs filed against this behavior but could not find one- I can imagine that with 12c we would have a chance to allow developers to handle passivation / activation for non-ADF BC model states. So if this is a feature you need then filing an enhancement request would make sense

  • Bug report: Safari 5 fails to handle 8192 bit RSA certificates

    Running Safari 5.1.7 on OS X 10.6.8 -- I haven't confirmed for the version of Safari running on 10.7 -- and trying to access a site over https that uses an 8192 bits large RSA cert causes Safari to bug out. It can't display the certificate details correctly, giving just a garbled text output, and even a buggy interface dialog, and manually trying to accept the certificate to get the website to load causes Safari to run in an endless loop, displaying the certificate warning anew, over and over, making it impossible to load the page. The exact same certificate details put in a 4096 bit cert works just fine.
    Could anyone in the core dev team take a look at this? The number of sites making use of 8192 bit large certs is growing, and Safari is the only browser out there that can't handle it.
    add.: it seems the problem sits at a more fundamental level than in Safari, possibly in some underlying framework - apparently several other applications in OS X fails with handling an RSA cert of 8192 bits size, as mentioned in this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/11728527

  • Mx.services.WebService() fails with Can't Find Method in Service

    When I test in debug mode, my webservices fail with can't
    find method or can't find URL. When I test on the very same
    webservice with the SWF file embedded in an HTML file, it all works
    fine!
    This all worked before I updated to Windows Vista last week!
    Any ideas? How can I troubleshoot this?? (I'm using a
    mx.services.Log when running in Debug)
    TIA,
    geo

    Some further info from the trace log:
    Error opening URL "
    http://desktop.mydomain.local/MyCompany/WebServices/MyServices.asmx"
    ObligationMet.Fault: undefined, Unable to connect to
    endpoint:
    http://desktop.mydomain.local/odoclub/WebServices/MyServices.asmx

  • Failed to handle workitem...the instance/work item may be closed already.

    I'm getting the following error in BPEL logs, can anybody tell me what the problem might be?
    <PerformMessageHandler::handleLocal> Processing workitem perform message 7207-BpTer4-BpSwt1.29-1 for domain default
    <AbortMessageHandler::handleLocal> Processing abort message 7207 for domain default
    <PerformMessageHandler::handleLocal> Processing workitem perform message 7207-BpAss6-BpSeq11.26-1 for domain default
    <CubeEngineBean::handleWorkItem> Failed to handle workitem "7207-BpAss7-BpSeq13.27-1"; the instance/work item may be closed already.
    <BaseDispatchSet::acknowledge> Acknowledged message 7207-BpAss7-BpSeq13.27-1_perform
    Toby

    Interestingly, the process is still listed as being active in the BPELConsole:
    7207 : Instance #7207 of BPNAME
    I can then manually abort the instance, and BPELConsole removes it from the list of active instances, and identifies it with a red cross in the list of historical instances.

  • Collect data and post change-events using POJO datacontrol

    How can I get users of my POJO datacontrol to get changed data from the datacontrol. The datacontrol will receive new data from some source ? I'm able to create a datacontrol from a POJO java class easy enough. However, is there an example showing how to create a datacontrol that receives data from some source and updates users of the datacontrol?
    Thanks
    Travis

    Yes, I want to push new data to the client without the client specifically requesting the data. I suspect the datacontrol will have to fire an some event and the client has a listener for that event.
    The datacontrol will receive data from a device, such as a barcode scanner, in the form of a string of text. The datacontrol will provide the data via one or more attributes (i.e. fields) such as "Product ID", "Expiration Date", etc.

  • How is table control data handled in Session Method?

    Hi Friends,
    Can any1 plz tell me how is table control data handled in Session Method.
    In Call tran we do it by count. But how in Session Method?
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Varun.

    Hi,
    u can do it by both methods. u can check out this program. u need to comment the performs of table control fields and write ur own perform statements.And u have to declare the table control fields as separate internal tables.
