Debug office 2013 from VS 2010

I am trying to run in debug mode
an app in Office (Excel)2013, whereas I am developing in VS 2010.
I found this article, which is quite an alright solution. What I did is I opened the .vbproj file,
with a simple text editor, from the file system and edited OfficeVersion="14.0" to 15.0 (I
researched that Office 2013's version is 15). But when I run the solution, it still opens in Office 2010.

Hi,
Were you developing an
VSTO solution for Office?
If I understood correctly, to develop/debug an solution for Office 2013, we need to use Visual Studio 2012 or Visual Studio 2013.
You can get more detail about it from link below:

  • Problem with URL:s containing scandinavian characters (Office 2013 / Firefox / SP 2010)

    We are encountering problems with document opening when URL contains scandinavian characters (ä,ö). This issue occurs only with Office 2013 when using Firefox. With IE it works just fine. And Office 2010 works nicely as well.
    Error message: "We can't connect to 'https://intra.../Test powerpoint.pptx' Please make sure you're using the correct web address".
    This issue only occurs when document or document set name contains scandinavian characters. If I rename it, document opens without any problems.
    Any idea how I could fix this?

    Hi Law, try changing the settings in the library to "open in client application." You should also read the following links for solutions:

  • Office 2013 vs SharePoint 2010 - Unable to check out documents to SharePoint drafts folder

    My company is foisting Office 2013 on us without upgrading SharePoint 2010 Enterprise. One of the issues I have discovered since receiving Office 2013 is that SharePoint no longer provides the option to save checked out documents to my local drafts folder.
    This is despite having Office set to save checked-out files to the server drafts location and the Office Document Cache Handler enabled in IE9. Is there a registry setting or something I can change that will re-enable this feature?

    Hi Nellie,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to re-enable the add-on Office Document Cache Handler in IE9.
    We can re-enable the add-on in IE9 using Group Policy:
    Launch the Group Policy Editor.
    Go to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer > Security Features > Add-on Management >
     Add-on List.
    Set this policy to 'Enabled'.
    In the Add-on List, add the CLSID of BHO (Browser Helper Object) (i.e.) {B4F3A835-0E21-4959-BA22-42B3008E02FF} as the ‘Value Name’ and 1 as the 'Value'.
    Log out of the machine and log back in again for the setting to take effect.

  • I can not uninstall Office 2013 from command line

    Hi, I have been stuck for a while trying to uninstall Office 2013 via command line. Installation file was downloaded from Volume Licensing Service Center, Uninstall.xml file for silent uninstallation looks like this:
    <Configuration Product=”ProPlus”>
    <Display Level=”basic” CompletionNotice=”yes” SuppressModal=”yes” AcceptEula=”yes” />
    </Configuration>
    From command line the following will not work:
    setup /uninstall ProPlus /config .\ProPlus.ww\Uninstall.xml
    Error: Setup can not find or validate an installation file. Please try reinstalling Office . . .
    setup /uninstall ProPlus gives me GUI to continue process - it seems /config .\ProPlus.ww\Uninstall.xml part does not work as it should be
    This is very important to me since I used above command line in SCCM 2012 R2 to allow user to uninstall Office 2013 by itself via Software Center. When this failed I tried locally but the error was the same. This should have been trivial task - silent uninstallation
    using .xml file. It is not a rocket science. I am very angry because losing time for something like this is unacceptable for system engineers working with SCCM 2012 R2.

    Hi,
    This error might occurs due to lots of reasons. Where is the installation file stored? If it's stored on a network share, please copy it to your local disk, and then manually run the command again. This way, we'll see if the installation file is the
    problem.
    If issue persists in this case, then this generally means that something wrong with the installation file. Please try to redownload it and then try again.
    Please also make sure that you're executing the command with elevated privileges (run as administrator).

  • Changing Color of MS Office 2013 - From Grey to White

    How do I make MS Office - Excel, Word and Outlook on normal white color just a MS 2007.. Please help.
    I tried changing it to white from account menu..but it still is the same.

    So when you go to Accounts (or Office Account in Outlook) and change it from one of the two Gray options to White, nothing happens?
    Screenshots of the 3 color choices are here -

    Hi Team,
    I am in the phase of migrating to Ex 2013 server from Ex 2010 SP3. I've few queries:
    Can I use existing Ex2010 DAG to add Ex2013 Servers?
    If no, then creating a new DAG means I need everything new, such as, storage, network... right?
    Can I use 2010 witness in 2013 DAG and other way around?
    What coexistence means if a new DAG is created.
    and kindly sahre some reading resources about this topic.
    Really appreciete your help.

    Hi,
    As DareDevil suggested, you need to setup everything on the new Exchange 2013 servers. After finishing the configuration on Exchange 2013, start to do the migration.
    What's more, I would like to clarify the following thing:
    When migrating a DAG from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013, you should first remove the mailbox server from the DAG in Exchange 2010 and then move mailboxes from database in this mailbox server to Exchange 2013. After all mailboxes have been migrated to the
    Exchange 2013 mailbox server, when the new server is ready, it can become a member of the Exchange 2013 DAG.

  • Digital signatures Office 2013 invalid in 2010

    We have pc's with Office 2010, Office 2007 and Office 2013.
    When we sign a document(with a certificate issued by a local CA server) in Office 2013, and open that file in Office 2010 or 2007, it says 'invalid signature'. When we open that same document on another pc with Office 2013, the certificate is valid.
    What i already tried:
    -Another document(it happens at every document signed by Office 2013)
    -setting the 'Do not include XAdES reference object in the manifest'
    to enabled/disabled in GPO(by adding the office 2010, 2007 and 2013 ADMX templates).
    -Setting the 'Legacy format signatures'
    to enabled in GPO
    If we sign a document in 2010 or 2007, it is valid in all versions of Office.

    -setting the 'Do not include XAdES reference object in the manifest'
    to enabled/disabled in GPO(by adding the office 2010, 2007 and 2013 ADMX templates).
    We need to set the 'Do not include XAdES reference object in the manifest' to
    Enabled. After that, sign a new document in Office 2013 and then try to open it in previous version to check the result. The settings may not apply to existing signed documents, you will need to sign a new document to test the result.

    Fresh install, no errors in install at all
    Regards

    Hi,
    Rundll32.exe is responsible for calling Windows DLL (or Dynamic Link Library) files and loading them into your PC's memory.
    Usually the rundll32.exe Application error is not a straight forward error. There are lots of possible reasons for this error, includes a failed or incorrect installation or uninstallation of any softwares, which might have left erroneous Windows registry
    entries.
    Tracking down the exact issue can take lots of investigation. The severity of this error really depends, if everything works well for you, you can just ignore it. However, if you want to correct this, try below steps:
    Since you notice this error right after you installed Office 2013, try to remove and re-install it using default setting.
    Reboot your computer, many programs require a reboot for successful installation.
    Try to update your computer drivers. This is usually the cause of lots of .dll file error.
    Try to run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to correct any incorrect system file. It is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files:

  • Stream 7 - Reinstall local Office 2013 from Office 365 subscription

    Ok, I signed up for my free year of 365 3-4 weeks ago.  Doing so resulted in downloading the desktop Office 2013 for a local install.
    Takes up a lot of valulable space, and there are a few Office apps I rarely use (Access, etc.)  Mostly Word, Excel and PP.
    So, I'd like to remove the apps I don't use, but in the case I want to use them later - how do I reinstall them?  The download occurred "automagically" as a result of the Office 365 subscription/signup process - I have no D/L to reinstall.  Nor, do I believe, do I have a key to take an existing install and install and activate.
    So - how can I D/L and install later?  And possibly determine just what my key is for that day?

    Due to limited storage, the installation folder/files is not downloaded into the device. The only way you can reinstall the MS Office is by doing recovery but will wipe out your data. After recovery you need to use the same account you used the fisrt time you registered your Office.
    Hope this helps.

  • Moving from 2010 to Office 2013

    Hi all:
    I am going to move from Office 2010 Pro to Office 2013 Pro.  I need to know if I import all my emails from 2010 to 2013 that Outlook 2013 will NOT go back to my servers (where all my email has been stored for over 3 years) and download all the emails
    over again - giving me duplicates that I will have to clean out. (I had an issue with 2010 that kept downloading all my emails over and over again until I moved that server inbox to a different folder) - so I am little hesitant due to that experience.
    What is the best way to approach this migration?
    Any help is appreciated

    Hi,
    To upgrade to Office 2013 from an earlier version of Office, it is always recommended to completely uninstall the Office suite before starting the installation process of Office 2013. This is because an upgrade process will still leave several (support)
    components installed.
    I am not quite sure how you did this last time, but uninstalling Office will not delete any Outlook data. After upgrade, you can start Outlook again to configure your account.
    What type of email account do you use (POP, IMAP, MAPI or Exchange)?
    If you are using an Exchange account, then your messages will be re-cached to a new compacter format ost-file.
    If you are using an IMAP account, your messages will also be re-cached in an .OST file, not a pst-file.
    If you are using an POP account, and not configured to leave a copy on the server, you should first backup your .pst file. When you re-configure your account in Outlook, you'll have an option of “Deliver new messages to: Existing Outlook Data
    File” to direct it to your restored pst-file.
    Hope it helps.

  • Exchange 2013 - can no longer move mailboxes from Exchange 2010 to Ex 2013.

    Migrating to Exchange 2013 from Exchange 2010. Created Ex 2013, moved some mailboxes OK. Then could no longer move mailboxes. No errors. The Migration email says complete. Synced: none, Total Mailboxes: none.
    Tried several mailboxes. Same result.
    Ex 2010 is SP3 RU6, (at least it says RU6 is installed in Programs/Features. The build is for SP3 w/o RU6???)
    Ex 2013 is SP1 aka CU4.
    How to proceed???
    john11

    After many attempts to fix the issue (move remaining 4 mailboxes from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013) I contacted Microsoft and we resolved the issue. Here's how.
    btw - Thanks for the suggestions from Ed. However, they did not seem to move us forward.
    What did work:
    1. On the Exchange 2010 box, create a new database. (Someone else suggested this also). Then move the remaining Exchange 2010 mailboxes to this new db. Then after that, move the 4 mailboxes to Exchange 2013 using the GUI on Ex 2013. This only worked for one
    of the four mailboxes. The other 3 failed.
    2. Apparently, we need to restart the Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service on the Exchange 2013 after several failed move attempts to clear cache related to the moves.
    3. Then on the Exchange 2013 box, use this Exchange shell command:
    New-MoveRequest -identity "[email protected]" -TargetDatabase "Exchange 2013 DB name" -BadItemLimit '500' -verbose
    This moved the remaining 3 mailboxes including the Discovery mailbox. It took some time. But we could check the progress using
    Get-MoveRequest
    The MS Tech was terrific. Really knew his stuff. And all mailboxes are on Exchange 2013. Well, the last one is still moving, but I am optimistic.
    Thanks for the suggestions. I had to get this done and the MS Tech made that happen.

  • SharePoint 2013 site in 2010 mode - Web Analytics functionality?

    We recently upgraded to SharePoint 2013 from SharePoint 2010.  Our main portal site is running in 2010 mode.  Are "Site Web Analytics reports" supported for 2013 sites running in 2010 mode?  After our upgrade, it appears that no
    new data is showing in these Web Analytics reports, although we can see historic data from before the upgrade.
    I know about the changes in these analytics reports in 2013. Note that I can see the new popularity trends and usage reports in 2013 sites located in the same site collection, but they are NOT running in 2010 mode.  My question is only about
    2013 sites in 2010 mode and the ability to run web analytics reports of any kind to assess page popularity, document popularity, etc.
    Any information would be helpful.  Thank you!

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to know if the Site Web Analytics reports is supported in SharePoint 2013 sites running in SharePoint 2010 mode.
    The Site Web Analytics reports is supported by Web Analytics Service Application in SharePoint 2010, but Web Analytics is no longer service application in SharePoint 2013 and analyses and reporting process incorporated to search service application. So if
    we view the Site Web Analytics reports in SharePoint 2013 sites running in SharePoint 2010 mode, we will not be able to get the results.
    http://www.toddklindt.com/blog/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=250
    I recommend to update the sites running in 2010 mode to SharePoint 2013, then you can get the web analytics reports from Popularity Trends and Most Popular Items.

  • Office 2013 for O365 Intune Install (Click to Run)

    Hi Forum
    I have been trying to push Office 2013 click to run install through Intune.
    I want to use the source files in the Cloud rather than on a Network Share.
    So far I have:
    Downloaded the OCT and downloaded the Setup.exe and the Config.xml
    Changed the config file (a few times, testing and got this working using cmdline)
    I have run the /download and the /configure switch and managed to get this installing from the Cloud locally but not from Intune
    In Intune, I upload the Setup.exe (as primary) and my custom config.xml (is included) using this cmdline I deploy: setup.exe /configure configuration.xml (which managed to install the software locally)
    Then Deployed to the App Portal, I run the install and it fails at 50% every time.
    I have left the source path "empty" and with
    http://officecdn.microsoft.com/pr/?????????????? (link come from downloading .cab files)
    Is there something I am doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance
    NN

    HI,
    I wondered if anyone can help. I too would like to able to install Office 2013 from my Office 365 account to all PC's using Intune.
    I have tried to follow the documentation but cant get this to work. Here is where I am so far:
    Downloaded Office Deployment Tool for Click to run
    Ran the setup /download "Path to Config File"
    Used this Config file
    <Configuration>
    <Add OfficeClientEdition="32" >
        <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail">
          <Language ID="en-us" />
        </Product>
      </Add>
    <Display Level="None" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />
    < Logging Name="OfficeSetup.txt" Path="%temp%" />
    </Configuration>
    This downloaded OK but not sure where. I am unsure what to do after that. I am, at this point just trying to get it working locally. I ran
    setup /configure "Path to Config File"  that prompted me to run the Click to run install, however, this just flashes up on the screen and is gone.
    Please advise, I don't know when this should be so difficult
    Regards

  • Office 2013 ProPlus HUP

    I have (had) installed two copies of Office 2013 Proplus HUP, on my main PC and on my laptop (both Win 7).   My main PC motherboard died and I replaced it and at the same time upgraded Windows to 8.1.   I installed Office 2013 HUP again
    but I can't activate it because Microsoft licencing responds that both my licences are active.   I cannot see any way to uninstall the licence for my main PC, I have tried to get to speak to someone by doing a telephone activation but you never get
    to speak to a real person.  I tried to re-install Win 7 so as to try to uninstall office 2013 from my hard drive but Windows 7 only wants to do a clean install which means I lose the original Office 2013 registration and again can't uninstall.  I've
    seen suggestions that this is possible through "My account" but I don't get that option when I check mine.       I've been through the Microsoft support site and when I put in my product code it says it's expired
    which is odd because HUP is as far as I can tell an extension of our business licence and that is very much still active.  Seems I can get support but it will cost me £65 when the software itself only cost me £8.95!!!
    Two questions, 1) if I uninstall Office 2013 HUP from my laptop, does this get picked up by the Microsoft registration service and then permit me to activate it on my new main PC, 2) is there a support service in the UK from Microsoft who could help sort
    this out without charging the earth?

    Before answering your question, I would like to show your the FAQ below:
    Q1: On how many computers can I install the software?
    A: 2 computers, either 2 PCs or 2 Macs, specific to the software that was purchased.
