Debugging in cluster

Hi,
we set up a Web AS with several server nodes for development. Each developer of our team is  (logically) associated with one server node. So we want to ensure that all developers can debug their part of the application without interferring with another.
Debugging in the cluster works fine so far. But if a process is reserved for debugging we cannot deploy DCs. So we have to "release the process for debugging". When we do that the server node is restarted. This all takes a lot of time and we can´t really work that way.
Does anyone have experience with this constellation and how can we achieve good development performance?
Regards
Helmut

There are debug flags that can be set dynamically from Admin console.
It would makes sense to understand the error/exception before enabling the right flag.
There are deployment as well cluster specific debug flags that can be set from wls Admin console

    right now all the nodes reside on the same hardware (very low delay) and use almost non CPU usage.

    hi linda,
    this cluster is for test cases on the same machine and using the very same binaries.
    therefore there is for shure no version conflict or something similar.
    can you send me the line how to turn on debug for cluster communication?
    every broker is started like this:
    nohup imqbrokerd -name jmqXXXXXXXXA1 -port 39100 -bgnd -Dimq.cluster.url=file:/home/caps/XXXXXXXXXX/broker.config -varhome /home/caps/XXXXXXXX/jmqXXXXA1 > jmqXXXXA1.out 2>&1 &and broker config is like this:
    imq.cluster.brokerlist=servername:35100,servername:35105,servername:36100,servername:36105,servername:37100,servername:37105,servername:38100,servername:38105,servername:39100,servername:39105
    imq.cluster.masterbroker=servername:34100after our system was patched yesterday i can not reproduce this behaviour anymore.
    BUT it would be great if you can send me the lines for debuging....

  • Firefox sync error server incorrectly configured

    The very first time I loaded firefox on my laptop (which i bought only a couple months ago) the syncing worked just fine.
    After i dont know how much time i started getting errors that the syncing was failing. I tried to reconfigure the syncing properties but started getting the error server incorrectly configured. I scoured the net looking for answers following all the troubleshooting that I could find.
    One thing I notice is that when i choose I have an account it is supposed to load a key that i can use on my already synced devices but that never actually populates and it immediately kicks me to the user name password and sync key screen. This issue remained throughout the duration of all the troubleshooting below. Additionally I cant even create a new sync account on that pc as it fails everytime.
    I have done the following in a effort to resolve this issue.
    I created a new sync account using one of my other pcs
    I added a pc that was never on the sync account to it to verify it does it fact sync
    i uninstalled firefox 4 separate times deleting all the folders and even as far as the registry keys
    i tried using a lan connection vs wifi
    i updated windows
    My computer;
    I have a lenovo ideapad with windows 7 and 8 gigs of ram with a amd processor

    please help I have spent countless hours trying to fix this.

    One addition note: in my own situation, I checked my about:config and saw my sync server's URL (https://scl2-sync42.services.mozilla.com/ ). I entered it into my address bar and got the following message:
    "server issue: database is not healthy"
    (quotes were included) I've seen no mention of such a phrase in a Google search, so I assume that no one else has reported any such thing.
    Going into my about:config, I deleted the URL and it synced just fine!

    Could anyone can help us on this issue? why did this issue occur during configuration. we are not sure what was missing.

    Hi
    I'm having the same error message , but I was able to configure my HSS
    Anyway, If I have all my Hyperion services running then suddenlly I get the error and I can not work any more with HSS
    Maybe there is a limit in my connections or process or session in the database
    Have you resolve your problem?

  • Heterogeneous clustering with WinNT and Solaris machines.

              Hi All,
              I've deployed my applications on two WinNT machines which are running in cluster with iWS41. as proxy
              server. The shared directory for this clustering is residing on one of these NT machine. I want to put one more
              Solaris machine in this clustering. Can anybody suggest me, how the new Solaris machine will access that
              shared directory residing on another WinNT machine in LAN, I'm new to Solaris, I also want to know that will
              there be any issues regarding this heterogeneous environment for clustering.
              Regards,
              Jitendra Kumar.

              Hi,
              If m/c on which shared directoy is, goes
              down, all WLS running in cluster will report the problem.
              Further WLS may stop unless and untill shared directory is
              available again.
              Mind it, all WLS should be of same version and same SP on all
              for running in cluster perfectly and also same EJBs version
              on all m/c if u go for same EJBs copies on all m/c and not using
              shared directory.
              Regards,
              Jitendra.

  • CUCM 9.1.1.2 - NTP unsynchronised

    Hello,
    I have a problem with the ntp service. The publisher is unsynchronised.
    However, the ntp server is reachable by the publisher.
    I tried to restart the ntp service but nothing change.
    Do I need to restart the server?
    Thanks
    Frederic

    Hello Manish,
    the CUCM version is : 9.1.1.20000-5. there are 4 servers. The NTP server is the core switch with a stratum at 1.
    Here the result of utils dbreplication status :
    Mon Jan 26 17:43:22 2015 main()  DEBUG:  Replication cluster summary:
    SERVER                 ID STATE    STATUS     QUEUE  CONNECTION CHANGED
    D_sub_ccm9_1_1_20000_5    6 Active   Connected       0 Jan  6 19:26:14
    A_ccm9_1_1_20000_5                   2 Active   Local           0
    B_sub_ccm9_1_1_20000_5    7 Active   Connected       0 Jan  6 19:26:14
    C_sub_ccm9_1_1_20000_5    5 Active   Connected    1060 Jan  6 19:26:37
    For NTP service, what file do you need? ntpd?
    I checked the logs before to restart the service and the NTP service had already been restarted by itself.

  • Patchset3 (11.1.1.4/wls 10.3.4) Remote debugging JDPA in weblogic cluster

    Hi,
    I am using Patchset3 (JDeveloper 11.1.1.4/ weblogic server 10.3.4). I was wondering how i can remote debug with
    a) weblogic managed server that is part of a weblogic cluster
    b) the cluster itself that contains multiple managed servers.
    Note that i do understand how to remote debug against a weblogic server (e.g. http://jdeveloperfaq.blogspot.com/2009/12/faq-4-how-to-remote-debug-adf.html), but have not been able to find out how i can achieve this against a cluster that has multiple managed servers. Any directions will be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    haven't tried it but here are some suggestions that might be of help:
    1) Each managed server for each cluster node should be setup for remote debugging. This means that each managed server must be started with the -Xdebug -Xnoagent -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,address=4000,server=y,suspend=n* options in the WebLogic start-up script. Also Tunneling must be enabled for each managed server for each cluster node.
    2) Make sure that you specify a different connection port for each managed server. This is indicated by the address* specifier above.
    3) It seems logical to me that you will need to start separate instances of JDeveloper - one for each managed server that you need to attach to.
    Let us know how it turns out,
    Nick

  • Cluster Debug Parameters

    What are the WLS 6.1 debug parameters for the startup scripts so you can
              watch the cluster chatter b/n managed servers? I can't find this documented
              anywhere on the BEA site. I find some references in the newsgroups but
              nothing complete. Can someone post the complete set of parameters and
              options that can be used? One of the parameters I can't seem to find info
              on is the changing the debug level in the startup script.
              -Brian

    From BEA support....
              Please find the various debug flags for cluster that could be entered in
              config.xml file
              The following enteries will go inside the <ServerDebug xml tag in config.xml
              DebugCluster="true"
              DebugClusterAnnouncements="true"
              DebugClusterFragments="true"
              DebugClusterHeartbeats="true"
              and for replication these are the flags
              DebugReplication="true"
              DebugReplicationDetails="true"
              So the entry in config.xml will be like this
              <ServerDebug DebugHttp="true" DebugConnection="true"/>
              and you can add the above tags.

  • Need help debugging desktop crashes

    Hi all,
    I've started having trouble with random desktop crashes. It only happens occasionally (twice in the past couple of weeks), but my screens black out (no signal). The desktop is still powered on, but I can't ssh to it. I'm pretty sure I wasn't doing anything specific either time to cause the crash.
    Unfortunately, I don't have much more information (sorry!). I've been told on the IRC to look at dmesg, the output of which I've pasted below, but I can't really make head nor tail of it.
    Ask me and I'll post any other logs/command output that might help.

    Is this the log of a failed boot or of a successful one? If it is a successful one, please provide the log of a failed boot. This log seems to say that there are 3 displays detected, so I think this is a normal boot.
    What I would like to see is if the failed boot starts X or not. That is, assuming you use X. When the boot fails, do you see messages on your screen before it goes black?

  • How to debug a program when it is SUBMITed from another program

    Hi All,
    Now one more query.  While SUBMITing a Z program1 from Z program2, I want to debug the Z program1.  Even when I keep a break point in Z program1, it is not triggering there.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Guys,

    I wasn't aware that there could be multiple senior members. Is this indicative of something bad going on?
    Thanks, Paul
    PS Metalink is not behaving so I can't raise it there.

    How closely does a paused declaration correlate with a vote for eviction?
    The last node which was kicked out had a similar pattern to trulxfw0003-5 above, however it had significantly more paused declaration messages in the minutes preceding eviction.
    We have a listener on the Cluster service which detects the local node leaving the cluster and kills itself. Is this a good idea, or is it safer to let Coherence sort itself out?
    Thanks, Paul

  • Setting up a cluster for the first time: newbie questions

    Any help appreciated with this situation:
              I'm trying to set up a cluster for the first time and running into
              issues (no big surprise). I'll outline my situation and pose questions
              as they arise. If/when I get things to work I'll post a step-by-step
              summary of what it took to get a simple cluster going.
              Here's what I have:
              machines:
              1 Windows 2000 machines with WL 6.1
              2 RedHat Linux machines with WL 6.1
              All machines are on the same Home LAN, can see each other, etc.
              IP addresses are:
              Windows box: 192.168.1.100
              Linux box 1: 192.168.1.102
              Linux box 2: 192.168.1.103
              servers:
              I've set up the Windows machine as my admin server, and set up
              a managed server on each Linux machine. I created a cluster that consists
              of the 2 Linux machines and deployed the web app and EJB to the cluster.
              The Windows machine is acting as a Proxy using ClusterServlet.
              The web application has been set as the Default Web Application on the
              two Linux machines. All 3 machines are listening on ports 80/443. I also
              set up session memory replication through the console.
              Application:
              I have an application that I package as an EAR file. I'm using it as a
              "reference" application designed to mimic a real world app as much as possible.
              The EAR file contains a web application that uses Struts. It also consists
              of a single Stateless Session Bean. The WAR file and EJB Jar are all
              packaged up into the EAR file. I've been able to run this application just
              fine on a single managed server on all 3 machines.
              The web application works fine, and it can invoke the EJB. I can also
              invoke the EJB from Java stand-alone clients. Struts works great. All is
              well with the world. Now I'm trying to "cluster-ize" this app using
              the environment described above and encountering issues.
              I've read the docs and followed the instructions according to the
              "Weblogic Bible" book. I can bring up all 3 servers and the Linux
              managed servers connect to the cluster just fine. I can also
              see the Struts messages in their logs which normally happens and tells me
              the webapp is initialized properly. The console tells me that the managed
              servers are running. I get no error messages starting up any of the serves.
              Here are the problems I am encountering.
              When I try to access the Web Application (through a browser on the
              Windows machine using http://localhost) I get the following error message:
              <Nov 19, 2002 6:44:33 AM EST> <Error> <HTTP> <HttpServer(1754841,null default ct
              x,admin) found no context for "/". This request does not match the context path
              for any installed web applications and there is no default web application confi
              gured.>
              Also, when I try to invoke the EJB through a stand-alone Java client,
              I get a JNDI lookup error on the EJB's home interface.
              Questions:
              Question1: I noticed when setting up the machines that console lets you
              define a "Machine" or a "Unix Machine". What's the difference? Should I
              define the Linux machines as Unix machines or machines, and what are the
              consequences of either choice?
              Question2:
              I'm not totally clear on how my web.xml should look to set up Struts,
              the ClusterServlet, and a servlet filter I'm using to test Servlet filters.
              Here is what I had before I tried to cluster and which works fine:
              <filter>
              <filter-name>MainFilter</filter-name>
              <filter-class>com.refapp.servlets.MainFilter</filter-class>
              <init-param>
              <param-name>myAttribute</param-name>
              <param-value>Foo</param-value>
              </init-param>
              </filter>
              <filter-mapping>
              <filter-name>MainFilter</filter-name>
              <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
              </filter-mapping
              <!-- Struts ActionServlet Configuration -->
              <servlet>
              <servlet-name>action</servlet-name>
              <servlet-class>org.apache.struts.action.ActionServlet</servlet-class>
              <init-param>
              <param-name>application</param-name>
              <param-value>refappstruts</param-value>

              <init-param>
              <param-name>mapping</param-name>
              <param-value>org.apache.struts.action.RequestActionMapping</param-value>
              </init-param>
              <load-on-startup>2</load-on-startup>
              </servlet>
              <servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-name>action</servlet-name>

              </servlet-mapping>
              <welcome-file-list>
              <welcome-file>index.do</welcome-file>
              <welcome-file>index.jsp</welcome-file>
              <welcome-file>index.html</welcome-file>
              </welcome-file-list>
              (I have set up a "dummy" 0-length file called index.do that triggers
              Struts to go into its ActionServlet when first accessing the web site).
              Here is how I added ClusterServlet to web.xml:
              servlet>
              <servlet-name>ClusterServlet</servlet-name>
              <servlet-class>weblogic.servlet.internal.HttpClusterServlet</servlet-class>
              <load-on-startup>0</load-on-startup>
              <init-param>
              <param-name>defaultServers</param-name>
              <param-value>192.168.1.102:80:443|192.168.1.103:80:443</param-value>
              </init-param>
              <init-param>
              <param-name>DebugConfigInfo</param-name>
              <param-value>ON</param-value>
              </init-param>
              </servlet>
              <servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-name>InitServlet</servlet-name>
              <url-pattern>/servlet/InitServlet</url-pattern>
              </servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-name>action</servlet-name>
              <url-pattern>*.do</url-pattern>
              </servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-name>ClusterServlet</servlet-name>
              <url-pattern>/</url-pattern>
              </servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-name>ClusterServlet</servlet-name>
              <url-pattern>*.html</url-pattern>
              </servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-name>ClusterServlet</servlet-name>
              <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
              </servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-name>ClusterServlet</servlet-name>
              <url-pattern>*.do</url-pattern>
              </servlet-mapping>
              Clearly there is a problem with the Default Web application not being
              seen/mapped properly. Any chances my URL mappings for the filter servlet,
              Struts, and ClusterServlet are stepping on each other?
              With respect to the EJB, here is what my weblogic-ejb-jar looks like:
              <weblogic-ejb-jar>
              <weblogic-enterprise-bean>
              <ejb-name>Hello</ejb-name>
              <stateless-session-descriptor>
              <pool>
                   <max-beans-in-free-pool>100</max-beans-in-free-pool>
              </pool>
              <stateless-clustering>
              <stateless-bean-is-clusterable>true</stateless-bean-is-clusterable>
              <stateless-bean-load-algorithm>
              round-robin
              </stateless-bean-load-algorithm>
              <stateless-bean-methods-are-idempotent>
              true
              </stateless-bean-methods-are-idempotent>
              </stateless-clustering>
              </stateless-session-descriptor>
              <jndi-name>Hello.Home</jndi-name>
              </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
              I run this through ejbc and package everything up into the EAR file.
              However, I get a JNDI lookup failure when I try to access the Bean from
              a standalone Java client running on the Windows machine.
              Here is the jndi.properties file that I am using:
              java.naming.factory.initial=weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory
              java.naming.provider.url=t3://localhost:80
              Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here? I can post config.xml also if needed.
              Thanks in advance!

  • Lot of build errors in project created for debug CRM 5.0

    Hi SDN!
    I want to setup java debugging for CRM 5.0 modified application. According to note 1154496 I created project "crm_b2b".
    I took file src.zip from
    server\usr\sap\<system name>\<instance>\j2ee\cluster\<server number>\apps\sap.com\crmb2b at first try and from
    server\usr\sap\<system name>\<instance>\j2ee\cluster\<server number>\apps\sap.com\crmcrb2b at second try. After import NWDS performed building for my project and shows lot of build errors (more than 12 thousands for 1-st try and near 2 thousands for 2-nd try). I reduced some of error by adding jar files from crm war file to build path. But I don't know how to resolve errors like "The method hasPermissions(Permission[]) in the type UserBase is not applicable for the arguments(EserviceHierarchyPermission[])" (error in com.sap.eservice.common.user.permission.CommonPermission.java, line 186). Also some of errors concerned with requierd libraries in build path.
    My NWDS is 7.0.14

    Hi!
    Here are my doings:
    1) set breakpoint in standart code
    2) run my debug configuartion
    3) run CRM 5.0
    4) NWDS stopped execution on breakpoint
    5) I right-click on variable, choose "Watch"
    6) NWDS shows me "error during evaluation" in "Expression" tab for selected variable
    I'm confusing since it was possible to use "Watch" for variables in CRM 4.0.
    Yes, you right, I can view all variabe values on "Variables" tab. I wanted to use "Expression" tab because it's more comfortable for me but it seems that I can use only "Variables" tab.
    So, thanks for help! My question is answered, but if you can give me more information about subject, you're welcome.
