DECEPTION is the current business model

Most of us have felt deceived at some point in our lives, and as consumers we must realize that the corporations have no interest in spending time with making us aware. That really is our job, although as busy working people, we have grown to depend on the person on the other end to help us understand what we are agreeing to. Ushering us to the point of contract signing is the objective, if we forget or otherwise have limited time to ask the right question BEFORE agreeing to things, then legally we are responsible for what we agree to. However I assert that in spirit, FAIRNESS is what we expect and disclosure is what we hope for. Where things go really wrong though is, when we ask questions and are given inaccurate and even egregiously false information. No matter if it was slack training or missed opportunities (by reps to look up answers) in the long run it's we the customer who pays for mistakes, not corporate. Gone are the days when competition controls practice, because changing carriers is no more effective at empowering us than simple complaints. Education empowers us, educating ourselves prior to signing and educating ourselves after being treated badly, these are actions that have the best chance of results. Deception by omission. Deception by distraction. And yes deception by inaccuracy are all part of our experience at times. We never see confused and frustrated customers in the ads, nor will we. Becoming cynical is our normal reaction, but it does not fix anything. ALL major corporations engage in deception, because it works !  It works often enough to make money. Once we understand why they do it, we can move on to accomplish the goals we have for our own bottom line and to serve our interests. Let's learn from (education) and properly respond to (advocacy, activism) these problems in meaningful ways that combine expression and action.

Hi, Thanks for contacting me. I'll tell you right now that if it wasn't for my daughter, I would drop verizon today and not look back. Their free phones that I tried out but did not like and sent back have cost me 65.00 a piece so far. Their customer service was terrible and I am basically done with them. I will keep them so that my daughter can enjoy her phone for now but given the opportunity I will drop them. and once this is over I will never get anything from verizon again and I will never sign up for another contract thru any carrier. I'm fed up with their lack of respect , them making up their own rules as they go along, their lack of respect and their deceptive business practices. Thanks , Vito

  • The new business model?

The new business model is inflexible. It might be suitable for many scenarios, but I will be looking for alternatives to Photoshop and the Premiere, wherever possible. This subscription model could be a boon to some businesses; Adobe will ultimately loose both long-term customers, as well as potential new users. A bad move overall.

I'm quite sure the user base is in the millions.  And I can't find the reference now because of the flood of buzz about the announcement, but it seems to me I read that the number of Creative Cloud subscribers is already quite huge.  I'm not sure your personal opinions are correct, given the wild success of the program already.  Stockholders have noticed.
The short and simple fact is this:  Adobe's got the goods; professionals want the goods, and will pay for them.
Yes, it's more expensive for a casual photographer to subscribe than it has been to upgrade to every other version of Photoshop Standard, and there is the limitation that you don't get to keep using an old version of Photoshop once you've terminated a subscription, but it's a professional product suite, and people who truly need it pay for it.
Perhaps Photoshop Elements is worth another look.
Yes, it may sting to learn that you can no longer afford the top-of-the-line graphics editing tool, but...  How many of us can afford top-of-the-line anything?  Do you have the top-of-the-line camera from your favorite manufacturer?  How about your computer?  Your car?
I think something that would help ease a lot of minds is a reasonable exit strategy.  One that shows some appreciation by Adobe for your having been a cloud subscriber.
What if, for example, after 2 years of keeping your subscription current you were allowed to continue to use any released revision of Photoshop 2 years old or older upon terminating your subscription?

  • Conforming Dimensions - won't appear on the same business model diagram?!

    Hi,
this is one of those where you have done something a 1000 times without thinking about it, and then suddenly I find when I have two subject areas with dimensions I want to share in the business model diagram the diagram will not display both sets of tables on the same diagram, no matter which way round I try it...
    i.e.
I have 1 fact, 1 dimension in one subject area
I want to join the fact to four other conforming dimensions in another subject area.
I have seen a 10g hit saying go from the physical aliases - but this does not seem optimal, surely there must be a better way??
    I am on 11.1.1.5
    Anyone help?!
    thanks,
    Robert.

    Hi,
    additional info
    Physical layer; -
    Fact 1 - Dimension 1 - Fact 2 - Dimension 5
    - Dimension 2
    - Dimension 3
    - Dimension 4
Subject Area 1 = Fact 1 and all directly joined Dimensions
Business Model Diagram = Fact 1 and all directly joined Dimensions
    Subject Area 2 = Fact 2 and Dimension 5
How do I join Fact 2 to Dimension 1,2,3??
    Anyone help?
    thanks,
    Robert.

  • Hi. Which of the current macbooks has a keyboard similar to a macbook pro 2012 model?

    Hi,
I was in PCWorld the other day and tried out the keyboards on a number of the current crop of MacBook Pros and Airs. I have used a number of thinkpads over the years and so I guess I'm kind of used to a certain type of keyboard which gives good tactile feedback and where the keys have a fair amount of 'travel' which I felt wasn't the case with the new macbooks. However, this was not the impression I had when I tried an older MacBook Pro (non-retina) which had a noticeably different feel to it - the keys seemed to be higher and there appeared to be a greater amount of travel - the end result being a much better typing experience. My question is, do any of the current MacBook models have the same keyboard of typing 'feel' of the older MacBook pro?
    Thanks in advance.

Sorry about the typo in the last sentence. It should read: 'My question is, do any of the current MacBook models have the same keyboard or typing 'feel' of the older MacBook pro?'

  • Proposed changes to Business Model and effects on BW Reporting

    Dear All
The Business is giving consideration to reducing (consolidating) its current number of Business Areas in use. They are stating they are not sure whether it will just rename some of the current Business Areas or create completely new ones.
We are trying to establish what issues the proposed changes will produce in our reporting? There are obvious ones, around modelling for example, and we'll need to liaise with our Internal Audit but are there any specific Governance,  Risk Control or Compliance issues around reporting we should be asking the Business to address?
Does anyone have any thoughts/experiences they want to share whose companies have undertaken something similar?
    Thanks in advance
    Helen

I will just brain dump some thoughts - they may or may not be applicable
Business Areas? as in the SAP term Business areas or the generic term
If this were me - I would start to worry about the statutory requirements as business areas tend to get used for segment reporting under IAS14
SAP brought out the segment ledgers in ECC6 to get around some of the process problems currently within the profit centre and business area concepts.
These technical objects previously did not allow up to date balanced balanced sheets for the segments due to the month end SAP process runs required to fill areas of the balance sheet not posted directly by standard SAP transactions. (ie subledger GL to PCA posting runs)
The new ECC6 segments resolve this by deriving (much like CO-PA derivation rules) the segment portion at posting time - thus the balance sheets balance
From a reporting process point of view this is a massive tool in the armoury as some aspects of Sox or some countries GAAP compliance require a balance sheet to be available within 14 days of asking (hence the problem with month end processes)
As with most aspects of BI and BW - the technology is the easy part (no matter what the postings in this forum suggest) - the problem is always the process and legal compliance, as reporting is the end game and only highlights problem with updtream processes.
From a day to day process - the problems that you may encounter will be the change in processes of default business areas for automated postings (ie some business areas are going to take the hit for, say, write off amounts, unless that is SAP substitution and validation rules are written to allocate the postings correctly)
What are you going to do with the historical data - are you going to remodel it with new look ups in BW and write the data back intot he cubes? As reloading historical data could take some time
And then if you do restate the historical data - the internal auditors are not going to be happy as you now have no backup for the original tax/statutory submissions

  • Establishing current business process baseline in Solution Manager

    Hello Guru,
We had implemented ECC 5.0 a year ago.
We had used business blueprint SOLAR01, SOLAR02, to document some of the business processes.   We found ourself currently have an incompleted business process blueprint.
We want to use Solution Manager to manage the ECC 6.0 upgrade, how do we establish the current business process baseline?
Is there a tool that will browse through ECC 5.0, and create business process map of what the current business processes that have been implemented, and the configuration objects that have been customized?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Anny

    Hi Anny,
I am afraid there isn't a tool that can help retrospectively build SOLAR01 or SOLAR02 related structure and contents.
The only three possible areas for exploration I can suggest for you to investigate further, are:
    (1) Use of Reverse Business Engineer (RBE)
    (2) Use of SAP TAO to at least build Testing scope retrospectively
    (3) Seek any views from IDS-Scheer on whether they have any plug ins for ARIS that can do a retrospective process mapping
    Best regards,
    Srini

  • Strange business model.

I have been with LMI since the beginning and find it a very useful tool, However these yearly price hikes have forced me to go elsewhere, just spoke to sales they couldn't even give me a figure for my renewal (Central 100, backup and cuddy) the lady wasn't even sure of the product line up at my renewal date leading me to conclude there is another change in the offing - you have been warned. I have lost all confidence in the company now and the sneaky way they operate there renewals and product changes is the strangest business model I have ever seen. I can only assume they are trying to milk there existing customers for everything they can. I'm only a one-man-band but larger companies have also expressed frustration to me about the pricing structure. The most annoying thing is the product is good, spoiled by money grabbing. Shame

  • Getting an error in KPI Modeler as "{"customMessage":"failed to detect the sap language of the current session language","status":500}"

    Hi Experts,
We have installed UISKPI01 in SAP NetWeaver Gateway System for Fiori Analytical Apps (KPI modeler is necessary to model the KPI) but while trying to create and Save the Group, we are Getting an error in KPI Modeler as "{"customMessage":"failed to detect the sap language of the current session language","status":500}". Similarly, when we are trying to edit the existing KPI template and assigning the Variants and Evaluations, we are facing the same error as failed to detect the sap language of the current session language","status":500.
    Any idea on above error?
    Thanking you,
    ~ Mahendra

    Hello Mahendra,
Check if you have entries in the T002 table of SAP_SSB schema.
If not follow the steps mentioned in the admin guide of SAP Smart business to populate data.
    This should resolve this issue.
Note: My assumption is that, you are accessing the KPI modeler in English Language.

  • Azure - The name 'model' does not exist in the current context

I am getting the error below but only on Azure, everything builds and runs fine on multiple machines running locally. But when I deploy to Azure I get the error below trying to login. Not even sure where to start researching this one
    Compilation Error
Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.
Compiler Error Message: CS0103: The name 'model' does not exist in the current context
    Source Error:

    hi,
From the error message, it seems like a MVC issue.
I suggest you could re-configure your web configuration follow those solutions The name 'model' does not exist in current context in MVC3
    and
Razor View throwing “The name 'model' does not exist in the current context” .
And then you could try to deploy project to azure again. I think this error may be disappeared. Please try it.

For your issue, you can get the list name from the new form url and retrieve the list last created item :

    Hi,
The cause of unable to remote back to the server seems to be services hung, please try to reset session as the article below guides to see if it works:

  • External Displays and the (current model) 20" iMac

    Hi there
I'm considering the purchase of a 20" iMac...the current model retailing at circa £949...and I wondered how many external monitors it could support? I'm aware that there's one monitor out port (either mini display port or mini DVI, not sure), but it is possible for the mac to support TWO external monitors?
I've used a three monitor setup when using a PC before and it was a really useful expansion to the screen real estate for the tasks at hand. It would be good to know how many monitors the iMac could support though!

The current (2009) iMac has a Mini DisplayPort. You need an adapter for DVI to connect a typical digital display, although I've noticed that some recent lower end displays use HDTV LCD panels and only have an HDMI connection. If the display is DVI, this is the adapter you need.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB570Z/A?mco=NDcwODI4MQ
With this adapter, you can go up to 1920x1200 (a typical 24" display).
With a Mini DisplayPort, you can connect a dual-link DVI display (2560x1600), a 30" display. You need a different adapter for dual-link.
You can only add one more display the normal way. However, OWC recently introduced a USB-based video adapter.
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/VIDU2DVIA/
You can use it for the third display, if you really need it.

  • Why did apple remove the superdrive from the current mac mini model?

Also why does the standalone superdrive (USD $79) ONLY work with server version of the current Mac Mini?  Does not make sense.  Was just thinking of buying a mac mini when they changed the line about 2 months ago.  I still use DVD's and CD's as I am sure a lot of people out there still do.
It has made me rethink the purchase of the current mac mini - since the standalone superdrive only works with the server version.  I wanted to purchase the 2.3Ghz - 500 GB version - but if that does not work with the superdrive - then no good for me.
The Intel core 2 core duo was the one I wanted and it was perfect for me - but the day I went to purchase was the day the new version was announced - apple is not even offering refurbished one of this model (I have looked at that area of www.apple.com) and everywhere I look on ebay for this version - people are selling them for so much more.  I wanted to buy this new from apple.
Getting rid of the drive was not the best idea just yet - CD's and DVD's are still so ubiquitious.
Anyone have any other suggestions on how to get my hands on a brand new Intel core 2 duo from apple?
I already have an Imac and a Macbook Pro already wanted to add to my apple collection.
