Default Siebel user

Hi,
I have set up a demo Siebel environment using Oracle VM Templates. Currently I am using sadmin to log into the Siebel application but I don't want to give this user id/pwd to others who need access to the demo environment.
Is there any other pre-existing user(non admin) in Siebel that I can use to login and view default views in Siebel?

I believe there are not other normal/admin users provided in addition to SADMIN or GUESTERM with seed data. You can create a new user by following information below:

In Lion the Finder folder is now invisible. To make it permanetely visible enter the following in the Terminal applicaiton window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For opening your domain file in Lion for the first time or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an applicaiton.
Just launch the applicaiton, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.

The current admin acccount in Windows 8 system are changed to Standard and no other Admin account is available in the system.

Change Default Background User In BW When Creating New Source System

I would like to create a new Source System in RSA1.
In Source Systems > SAP > Create > Connection of source system to BW
the Default background user in BW is u201CALEREMOTEu201D.
How do I change this to another user?

Default admin user can't open apps which other user can

hi all,
running os x 10.9.4, my default admin user account cannot open several apps (for this specific question i'll use room eq wizarz as an example). however, when i log out, and log in as another user (which also has admin privilages) the app opens and runs perfectly fine...
there are several other apps with which i'm haing the same issue...
any ideas?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

How to alow non-default domain users to set share folders.

From Messanger Express, users who are in non-default domains cannot set any share folders, and only get an error message "You do not have permission for setting permission". However, Users in default domain can do it without any problem in same server[iMs5.2].
Is there any specific permission to allow non-default domain users to do it ?
If yes, how to give this permission to these users ?

In deed it is fix in the GA.Another way to set the alias table is to do it in the Admin client. If you add a connexion to a user there is a new 6.5 button "set alias" that allow you to set the default alias table for this specific user. But, it does not exit on a user group level.

Modifying default tabbed user form

I want to prevent a particular attribute from showing up in the default tabbed user form. I still want the attribute to exist and I do not want it to be secret, I just don't want to see it show up at all. Any ideas on how to do this? I am using IDM 7.1.

If you Google for os user name java site:java.sun.com you'll find the page that lists all System properties that provide info you can retrieve from a Java program.
This info will allow you to write the appropriate line in your overridden entity object create() method where programmatic defaults are performed.
However, this scheme won't work well for a web-based application since the code is running on the web server.

Share Analytics Reports with non-Siebel Users

Hello,
We are on version 7.8.2.4 of Siebel Analytics and are on a UNIX platform.
I am working on a project that is required to share reports with non-Siebel users. We are hoping to accomplish this through Analytics Delivers, but are open to suggestions or alternatives.
I have found that an iBot (under the Advanced tab) can be used in conjunction with custom Javascript or VB to FTP the report results in a pdf format to a specified location on the server. The Analytics Scheduler Bookshelf document explains how to do this starting on page 50.
However, there is a note within this document that says this functionality is only supported on Windows platforms. Unfortunately, our servers are on a UNIX platform. I have been told the possible reason for only supporting this functionality on a Windows platform is because there is not a service analogous to the ActiveX Scripting.FileSystemObject control which is called in the Javascript described in the document mentioned above.
This leads me to my question: Has anyone ever used this custom Javascript functionality with iBots on a UNIX platform or is there a similar approach that can be used instead? Has anyone found another way to share Analytics reports with non-Siebel users?

I don't have experience with ftp-ing a pdf to a specific location. But I do have 2 alternatives:
1. Use a public dashboard

2. Set up SA System subject area, to email the pdf to non-Siebel Analytics users.

In the external table you use for the SA System subject area, it is possible to add 'fake' users with their e-mail addresses.

Default admin user when restoring from time machine backup in setup assistant

Hello,
Apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere.
I will soon take delivery of a new iMac running Mac OS Mountain Lion, and I will want to restore my full Time Machine backup which was made on a MacBook Pro (which was my main machine, but is now faulty - it was running Snow Leopard).
On the MacBook Pro I had 2 user accounts. Mine which was the default admin account (named Ian Johnson), and my wife's which was a standard user account.
Now, I know that I should use SetUp Assistant to restore user accounts etc from the Time Machine backup, but I'm wondering whether during that process I will be asked to create another admin user account when I first run SetUp Assistant. Ideally I would like to end up with exactly the same user accounts as on my old MacBook Pro.
The reason I'm asking in advance is that I believe it's hard to "undo" whatever default admin user account you set up on first use of a new Mac, so want to be prepared.

You won't be, provided you go straight into Setup Assistant the first time you boot the new machine.

Using a different user(other than default PI user) with adapter module

Hi,
We are having a custom adapter module built to interact with a Hardware Security Module(HSM). This custom adapter module by default uses a PI user configured in the system. However, we are not able to pass commands to HSM because of insufficient authorizations to this PI user. Now, we do not exactly know the permissions required for the user to access HSM. We have asked the HSM support team about the same. However, I wanted to explore the possibility of using a different PI user to work with the adapter module and eventually pass commands to HSM.
We have an admin user configured which has all the necessary authorizations. Is it possible to use this admin user created on PI system to work with adapter module so that it passes commands to HSM?

You need to implement getColumnNames and getColumnDisplayName on your implementation of IBPMUICustomizations. If you only want it for a single user you would either need to hard code that user in there or look to an xml file or something to map users to columns.

Undocumented/default "pix" User in Cisco ASA

Hi -
I came across a username at a new customer I was not aware off: "pix".(I felt like an Idiot looking through "show run all" not seeing the user after 5 years of descent asa/pix experience)
While I am usually using username/password/priv-level and aaa authentication on my ASA configurations, this customer is using a user "pix" which is invisible in the "show run" and "show run all" command or even the "more system:flash" command. IMO it is a rather bad practice to use a user which would not survive any current configuration backup mechanisms or even worse open a firewall with a default user after some kind of configuration recovery/reset.
Anybody any Idea why people would use this undocumented user - why there is a user on the Cisco ASA which can be used to login with - or where in the world this user is stored with its password? - Is this a kind of TAC backdoor to lost passwords?

"asa" or "pix" are default fallback username that can be used in some scenarios if other authentication methods are unavailable.
I think we removed them in the latest ASA code (later 8.3 or 8.4).
I agree with you. This is not secure.

10.5.3: Dock of RD clients reverts to default everytime user log in.

After updating from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3 clients conectet to an OD Directory with remote home directories the dock of all users returns to default. The changes one makes in the dock will not be saved anymore.
We are running 10.5.2 server with newly updatet 10.5.3 clients wich connect to an NFS automount..

I've been having a few different problems with managed prefs recently, but found that if I delete the com.apple.mcx.plist file from the user folder, delete the Managed Preferences folder from the Client Library folder, log in as a local admin with the option key held down (this can be turned on in the login section of WGM for managing computers) then you have the option to refresh Managed preferences.
Finally log in as the user holding down the option key to reselect the group (if the user is assigned to more than one)
Like I say I had a different problem but this may help
